LIVE Mon-Fri 615a eastern. Ephemeral. ONE topic daily. (Leopard likes puns.)

Oh boy, how do we begin to describe this? If you know what it is, then you may find this validating or clarifying. If you don't know (or have doubts), please listen. Take a deep breath; the likelihood that someone is monstrously upset with you rn is actually pretty low, C

Yikes! There a little technical issue-led surprise ending to this episode. Pleeeease don't let that distract you from what we're talking about. And thank you for your patience: Things can be tough sometimes on the way to where you're supposed to be going Speaking of going, if you've been stagnating and are planning for a refresh at the start of 2026, consider that there are things you could start pondering (or doing!) now that could set you up for more success as time continues on. I'm so glad we're all here, C

Welcome to December! Keeping it light and full of gratitude today. Thanks tons for being here, C :)

It's a Song of the Week! Thanks so much for your patience :) I am so excited to present to you this brand new music-centered feature on the show. Last year we had a blast (my word) listening to 300 albums and discussing them together. Ever since I have known that we were going to get back to holding space to talk specifically about music on the pod, regularly. And just about a year after we started that massive undertaking, the time is now!! So instead of album after album, we're going to talk about ONE SONG AT A TIME. - Some technical difficulties (mic went out mid show, amongst other things!) led to an editing and posting delay but now we're here! This week's TWENTY-SIXTH installment song is from Artist: George Strait And is called “Living And Living Well.” It's from his 21st studio album called: The Road Less Traveled You can hear the original recorded version of the song here: https://youtu.be/jEKQa13ox4I?s... You can also watch a live performance of the song here: https://youtu.be/BHj2BZAsQtc?s... And you can almost always grab a preview on my IG @whereschloe; it's up on the profile. - There is no hierarchy; these songs are going to be in basically a random order, chosen for reasons that I'll most likely expound upon within the episode. Along with an array of background, inspirations, time frame, album order, cultural context, related themes, personal experiences, etc. Any genre artist decade that I would listen to is up for grabs and who's to know what will be next and why? ;) Remember your favorites. Discover something new. One song of the week at a time for however long works. I'm ELATED that you're along for the ride, C

I can hardly believe this is the culmination of the adult friendship series! Let's go out with some whimsy ;) Happy Thanksgiving, C

The time has finally come. After everything we've been through in this series, after everything you've been through in your friendship, what do you do when it's time to let go? Let's talk about separating from a real friend, ways that you can know if that's the best next step, and how you can do it in a way that hopefully won't burn bridges. So grateful you're here; take care of yourself, C

We're continuing our talk about love and the part it can play in your friendships (and all other types of human interactions!) It's a multi-faceted idea, so understanding its parts can be beneficial as you attempt to define and describe the affinity you have for another person :) ESPECIALLY for native English or English-only speakers As I heard someone say yesterday, “Love is Everything” and the joy that it has the capacity to infuse your life with, and your connections with other people, is worth its challenges. So so grateful that you're here, C

This is a big week around here, and not just because of the impending holiday in the US this week. We're coming down the other side of the mountain when it comes to this monumental adult friendship series! And we still have a lot to cover before we're finally done, so for that reason and at least one other ;) we're spending almost this entire week wrapping it up. Beginning today with Friendship and Love, So grateful you're here, C

Sometimes adults have children. Sometimes adults don't have children. (Both are fine, btw.) And SOMETIMES, these two types of people want to be friends. Can it work?? It can work (!), if you work it. But there are some things you may need to keep in mind.. Don't give up, C

We're not talking about money. Be encouraged! I'm thrilled that you're here, C

Is that even possible?? It depends on what you eat! Stay here, stay healthier, C

We're making our way through the holidays and if hosting an event during this season (or even being a guest) is on the docket of things you're planning to accomplish, let's talk about some ways we can make it go a little more smoothly for you. And everyone! So glad you're here, C

We're wrapping up our anti-scam discussion this week by finishing the recommendations for ways you can avoid or mitigate the ability of a nefarious actor to scam you. I don't want this to happen to you. I don't want this to happen to me. I don't want us to treat each other in these ways. But in this economy, it's a possibility. Stay mindful, C

How can we avoid some of these scams, especially as they increase in frequency?? Take care of yourself and others, C

I did not want to talk about this and yet we didn't even get a chance to cover everything I had planned. I wish we didn't need to talk about this. We should be so much better to each other than this https://www.thecut.com/article... Stay vigilant. And Happy Veteran's Day: Thank you for your service if you serve or served, C

What are your Thanksgiving desserts going to look like? (If you have the time, inclination, resources, and privilege to ask that question.) Need some ideas?? Come on in, C PS: Don't forget to think about, and take **action** to help, those in your community who may be dealing with food insecurity if you can.

What types of people, who are already being called your friends or you're on the way to making them your friends, should you beware of? Like literally, be aware of their behavior and what it could mean towards their intentions, their real or imagined affinity for you, the impact they have on the way that you feel and your life in general. Whether you keep these people around or not is up to you. But pay attention. You deserve genuine care, C

You see the pink thumbnail: that's right it's an encouragement episode! So pleased to be able to bring these thoughts to you today. Honored even. We need it. I'm so glad you're here, C

We're revisiting this topic so that we can potentially include more people's experiences, but also to lean into hope. I'm really glad you're here, in multiple senses of those words, C

Let's hear from some Neurodivergent adults about how challenging it can be to make friends. And then jump back into practical tips to make it feel more accessible to make genuine friendships a reality. I'm so glad you're here! C

Trauma survivors are everywhere. You may even be one yourself and if you aren't, then you almost certainly know one. What are little ways that the evidence of this trauma (or the work of healing being done) can still manifest themselves days weeks months years or even decades later? It's important to be aware of for your benefit, and for the benefit of those around you. “We can do hard things!” :) We have already. Thanks so much for still being here; you're not alone, C

Or it COULD be. We're taking a look a minimalism as a template for the larger function of adjusting your space - and your life - in ways that can better suit you. Plus the people, plants, and animals around you. I'm glad you're here, one day at time, C

Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. You can listen to the song here: https://youtu.be/EGlo9LzmOME?s... I know it can feel like you can't be “picky” with the work you do “in this economy” but is it truly necessary to devalue your physical and mental health, your equilibrium, your joy, your skills, your talents, yourself? Hours and hours a day, week in/week out, for years and years on end. Sigh. I understand financial necessity-believe me, I do. But quality of life is a necessity too and we have been led to believe that anything can be sacrificed if the price is right. Which might not be the case for you. Gain the whole world and lose your own soul? Not today. Take care of yourself (and others) as best you can, C

“Perfection does not exist in humanity.” We're talking about what excellent parenting can look like and the benefits of it! - (Please forgive the cut off. Technology isn't always on my side lol. Thank you for sharing this space with me from a place of grace) - PLEASE NOTE: I did not say PERFECT parenting. It is an acquirable skill, even if you didn't experience it, and it's something you can always get better at. That's not an indictment or a threat; it's an encouragement and an opportunity! Even if you don't have kids, there can be words here for you. So pleased you're here, C

Emotional depth can be challenging in human interactions. It can feel dangerous in a place where you are supposed to be able to find safety- Which can lead to superficial interactions with so many people that you ultimately end up feeling alone, even though you seem social and well connected. Not everyone should have access to the true depth of you. But the right people can. In hope, C

Ever so often, someone says something meaningful without realizing the impact it's going to have on the person who hears it. I hope you find what you need, C

We're still talking about the ND of it all. =) And having a grand old time doing it! There are friends out there for everyone, and everyone includes you. Let's look at specific ways to get started. You can do this! C

Get your internal motivation up! Oh man, don't you struggle sometimes with getting things done that you need to do but don't want to do? I DO. Big time. So how can we counter it?? There are ways. Ooh lala Deeply appreciate you being here, C

There are events that are always, in some way or another, a part of human lives. And the celebration of two people choosing to affirm their commitment to one another, known colloquially as a wedding, is one of them! In times of feast or famine, chaos or calm, ideal or challenging circumstances, people will get married. But this increasingly pervasive sentiment that your wedding has to be an event of monumental proportions is not conducive to everyone's time, energy, or finances. Nor does it have to be! You can plan a beautiful, meaningful, memorable experience for the two of you and your potential guests without breaking yourself, your partner, or the bank. (Ooh we might have to talk about this one again) Thanks tons for being here, C

Did I have Diiv on the brain when I chose this title? Yep. Is this an encouragement ep for the Indigenous People's Day show? Yep. Am I really glad that you're here, regardless of your ethnic background or current location? Of course! And here's the link to the map I mentioned. Enjoy! https://native-land.ca/ On the way to safe and sound, C

HOW CAN YOU MAKE FRIENDS AS A NEURODIVERGENT PERSON? How?? There are ways. Let's start a chat about it :) Take care of yourself in the hope of what's possible, C

Lovely sounding title, eh? It has a real reason- The “Ouch” is for me: MIGRAINE boooo The “Stress” is for you (all of us): Thoughts on ways to mitigate it that sometimes take a backseat to self care Truncated ep. Gotta go lie down. Thanks tons for being here, mean it, C

Here are a few areas of life that it's not a bad idea to reevaluate seasonally. And some of my personal experiences with them, to join the expert opinions- So so glad you're here, C

So glad to be back in encouragement zone! It felt needed after some of the things I've been reading, seeing, experiencing. There's a lot going on, everyday. Take a respite here. C

On choosing to surround yourself with things that authentically work well in the place where you reside. And what has happened to others who didn't- So glad to have you here, C

It's not just about living a long time (sign me up!) but living as optimally and healthfully as possible for as long as possible (no really, sign me up!) How?? Well you never know what's going to happen, but you can control the things that you can control. Gratefully Thanks for joining me here as a part of the life you're currently living. Deep appreciation, C

I was so much more impacted than I expected to be talking through some of these points of advice. People helping people is what it can be distilled down to. And that is always a big deal, regardless of the size or scope. Thank you so much for being here. A little bit better is still better, C PS: Yes I recognize my use of the word “little” in the title yesterday and today. Not belittling ;)

I find it so engaging to consider real life advice from real people. It makes me think things and about thing that I might not otherwise cogitate on my own. I got so into sharing, I had to put the balance of today's poetry time below :) ••• Listen, by Barbara Crooker I want to tell you something. This morning is bright after all the steady rain, and every iris, peony, rose, opens its mouth, rejoicing. I want to say, wake up, open your eyes, there's a snow-covered road ahead, a field of blankness, a sheet of paper, an empty screen. Even the smallest insects are singing, vibrating the entire bodies, tiny violins of longing and desire. We were made for song. I can't tell you what prayer is, but I can take the breath of the middle into my mouth, and I can release it for the leaves' green need. I want to tell you your life is a blue coal, a slice of orange in the mouth, cut hay in the nostrils. The cardinals' red song dances in your blood. Look, every month the moon blossoms into a peony, then shrinks to a sliver of garlic. And then it blooms again. Thank you so much for sharing this space and time with me. Have a great wk, C

SPECIAL REPORT: The state of Rudeness (sigh) Y'all, I'm tired. And a little bit fussy. And apparently so are lots of other ppl. But that's no reason to be rude. As a matter of fact, if you keep it up (the rudeness) you will consistently feel worse and so will your interactions with ev one else, from complete and total strangers all the way to people you love. Kindness and compassion, C

CW: Suicide Prevention Discussion We're continuing the conversation we started last week about suicide prevention, as we draw towards the end of September. It is important for there to be safe spaces where these things can be discussed: from the side of needing help or from the side of wanting to help I'm really really glad that you're here. Keep being here, C
