"When God Saved America" 1 Peter 1:13-21No More Fear - Living Life with a Living SaviorWe live in a world filled with fear—fear for our kids and marriages, fear of sickness and job loss, fear of the future and the headlines, even fear of death itself. Many people feel trapped by these fears, either trying to control everything around them or resigning themselves to the thought, “That's just how I am.”But the resurrection of Jesus speaks directly into those fears. In this series, we will explore what it means to live life in light of a living Savior. If Christ had not been raised, many of our fears would be completely justified. But because the tomb is empty and Jesus is alive, everything has changed. His resurrection gives us a new foundation for our faith, a new identity as His people, and a new way to face the fears that shape our lives.Again and again, we can return to this central truth: because Jesus is alive, fear does not have the final word. Through the power of the resurrection, we can move from being gripped by fear to being grounded in the perfect love of a risen Savior.

The corrosion we feel happens when we expect a political figure or a government to protect a dream that only God can sustain." As our nation navigates shifting definitions of the American Dream and cultural anxiety over systemic decay, where should believers anchor their hope? In the conclusion of this special two-part pre-July 4th series on Heartfelt Mornings, Pastor Tom Roepke joins Burch and Lisa to look past the contemporary political noise. Picking up right where last week's discussion on Abraham Lincoln left off, this episode tackles everything from the hilarious, real-time cultural shock of World Cup tourists to the profound, foundational truths written into the Declaration of Independence. The conversation challenges us to drop the usual political talking points and examine a vital question: Have we hitched our hope to an election cycle instead of the King of Kings? This archive features the full conversation, including a final pastoral prayer for our communities, our leaders, and our national character. During the broadcast, Tom also highlights a powerful sermon titled "Once in 250 Years – Celebrating the Declaration," delivered from the pulpit of Bethel Chapel by Dave Zanotti of the American Policy Roundtable. Listeners are highly encouraged to visit The Public Square media platform to hear Dave's full audio address, which serves as an excellent companion resource to help families re-center on first principles over the holiday weekend. Back to more America trivia fun, though some of these do ask for some additional critical thought. It's not super great to insult someone on their bday, C

As we approach America's 250th anniversary, we often look strictly at political philosophy to understand our history. But what does the actual math show about the spiritual climate of early America?

In this episode of the forum, we strip away centuries of conditioning to confront a hard, historical reality: the traditional religious frameworks of Allah and Jehovah were never written, spoken, or designed for Black Americans. We are breaking down the blueprint of spiritual systems, challenging unverified claims, and examining how traditional belief systems have shaped—and sometimes limited—the collective consciousness. In this episode we continue our conversation with Emma Ashford about her new musical: Miss America. MISS AMERICA, a dystopian musical tragicomedy, tells the story of Eve - a driven, idealistic, and accidentally pregnant Indiana 17-year-old on the eve of her freshman year at college. After a failed illegal abortion attempt, Eve ends up at the New Life Center: a pilot prison created by the McGowan administration, which has codified abortion as murder. Over the next 8 months, Eve, alongside her fellow inmates, must reckon with parenthood, purpose, and the gendered expectations that confine all of us. With comedy, heart, and a sweeping score of pop/rock and pastiche, this uniquely American coming-of-age musical nods to hits such as Orange is The New Black and The Handmaid's Tale as it confronts what the reproductive laws of today could mean for us tomorrow. This episode features recordings of the songs “Not Today” performed by Emma Ashford, and “Miss America” performed by Alysa Finnegan, Nina White, and Emma Ashford. The U.S. dollar's origin story begins not in Philadelphia or Washington, but in a half-frozen mining valley in 16th-century Bohemia, where Saxon miners accidentally named their town after a saint and set the world's dominant currency in motion. That currency's history stretches from a 1518 christening party all the way to the eurodollar markets of Cold War London — and the central is that money is a product, not a symbol of sovereignty. From Spanish silver hollowing out Toledo's workshops to enslaved people serving as bank collateral in antebellum New Orleans, the dollar's history is less a triumph than a series of accidents and power grabs. Today’s guest is Brendan Greeley, author of The Almighty Dollar: 500 Years of the World’s Most Powerful Money, and he explains how colonial Americans invented paper money not as a revolutionary act but as a desperate workaround for chronic small-change shortages — and how that same improvised spirit resurfaced when a Maytag dealer in Iowa printed his own dollars to keep a Depression-era town alive. He also dismantles the myth that Nixon's 1971 decision to close the gold window turned money into "fiat" — arguing that gold never gave the dollar its value, only controlled it. What actually sustained the dollar across five centuries was something more mundane: banks, habits, laws, and the accumulated trust of people who had no other options.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
For today's episode, Ed Dodson leads a discussion on Robert Morris, an American patriot in Revolutionary America. The origin story of the United States of America is filled with numerous twists and turns. The fact that the people and leaders of the 13 British colonies managed to earn their independence from the 18th century's most powerful naval and land power was anything but certain. However, winning independence required an army and a navy, as well as the capacity to provide all the goods necessary to match the enemy. In this lecture series, we present and discuss the role of Robert Morris, an American patriot who made it his life mission to coordinate and mobilize resources even when cooperation among the 13 States was difficult. To check out more of our content, including our research and policy tools, visit our website: https://www.hgsss.org/

This is PART TWO of the two part series on Yuri Bezmanov. Bezmanov, a former KGB agent who defected to Canada in 1984, provided valuable insights into how socialist/communist governments could undermine nations through psychological warfare and demoralization. Rose emphasizes that Bezmanov's interview with G. Edward Griffin in 1984 is particularly relevant today. He explains that Bezmanov taught several classes in Canada after his defection, where he shared the same information about Russia's long-term strategy to defeat America through psychological means. This strategy involves a gradual process of demoralization and societal manipulation, which takes decades to achieve but may already be showing results. Dr. Keith Rose explores subversion of nations including the United States, with a particular emphasis on the United States. The main focus is on Yuri Bezmenov, a former KGB operative who defected and became an outspoken critic of Soviet tactics for dismantling societies from within. Yuri Bezmenov's insights are pivotal to the discussion. He warned about the recruitment of influential individuals such as rich movie makers, intellectuals, and academic circles who lack moral principles and can be easily manipulated. These people are identified as highly recruitable due to their greed or self-importance, making them susceptible to spreading disinformation. The episode underscores the internal threats to freedom in the nation, emphasizing the need for identification and recognition of these dangers. For the twelfth episode of “50 Weeks That Shaped America” we go to 1911 and the massive fire at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory in Greenwich Village, Manhattan. The fire started on the 8th floor, spread to the 9th and 10th, and would lead to deaths of almost 150 people, mostly poor women who worked in the factory. This fire took place during an era of growing labor reform, and the tragedy — which took place with many of the city's elite literally watching in person — galvanized calls for better workplace conditions. We get into the details of the fire, the strange political alliances that were forged during that time, and whether the era of reform in the 1910s and 1920s can signal anything about the moment we're in right now.Join our America250 newsletter community!
