In Part 2 of this Deep Dive series, host Dr Shae speaks with Nick Nagzam and introduces the show's mission to share honest conversations and build community around dyslexia and other neurodivergent conditions, then moves into a discussion about working from home in a global, largely neurodivergent team and how home “distractions” can be less disruptive than office interruptions. Nick shares how differences between his sons became clear during COVID lockdown homeschooling, leading to one child's autism diagnosis at age four, and how a second child's ADHD became more apparent after breaking his femur and losing physical outlets like sport. They discuss day-to-day family strategies such as running for self-regulation, setting device limits and screen lock times, bedtime wind-down routines, and sleep supports including slowrelease melatonin. The guest also highlights support resources like Amaze and Autism Connect and learning through books. 00:00 Podcast Welcome 00:35 Remote Work Reality 03:19 Kids Diagnoses Story 05:29 Injury Reveals ADHD 07:25 Family Coping Strategies 09:44 Screens and Sleep 11:34 Finding Support 14:06 Resources and Wrap U About Dear Dyslexic Podcast The Dear Dyslexic Podcast amplifies the voices, experiences and expertise of people from the dyslexia and broader neurodivergent communities, creating conversations that inform, empower and inspire. Four years, 210 episodes, two more babies, one podcast rebrand, and countless conversations that have changed the way I understand myself, my work, and the world around me. In this four-year anniversary episode of Wild & Waking, I'm looking back at the podcast journey that began with Gather in Growth (back when recording my first episodes felt like standing naked on a street corner) and reflecting on what became possible because I was willing to do it scared. As I scroll through four years of episodes, I can see my personal growth and identity evolution unfolding in real time: confronting my addiction to achievement and approval, returning to therapy, navigating entrepreneurship and motherhood, moving through two unexpected pregnancies, deconstructing inherited beliefs, reclaiming my spirituality, rebuilding self-trust, and becoming increasingly willing to ask bigger, braver questions. Some things have changed completely. Yet, the desire to gather women around honest conversations about growth, identity, purpose, and possibility has remained at the heart of this work from the very beginning.I also reflect on the power of curiosity, consistency, community, and shared women's wisdom. This podcast has never been about pretending I have everything figured out; it has been a place for us to explore personal development, healing, spirituality, social conditioning, and what it means to create an authentic life together. Through conversations with women around the world, we've found language for experiences we thought we were alone in, encountered ideas our families and communities may never have introduced us to, and given ourselves permission to decide what resonates, what doesn't, and what we want to explore next.More than anything, this episode is an invitation to measure backward and recognize just how much can change in four years. Whatever is calling you… a creative dream, a business, healing, motherhood, deeper relationships, or an entirely new way of seeing yourself… let this be evidence of what can grow when you start before you feel ready, show up imperfectly, and give yourself permission to evolve along the way.In this episode, I explore:Four years, 210 episodes, two more babies, and the evolution from Gather in Growth to Wild & WakingWhat becomes possible when you start before you feel ready, do it scared, and continue showing up imperfectlyLooking back at personal growth, identity evolution, motherhood, entrepreneurship, therapy, spiritual deconstruction, and rebuilding self-trustThe surprising difference between what has completely transformed and what has remained true from the very beginningWhy curiosity has been one of the most powerful catalysts for healing, awakening, and changeCreating a podcast rooted in exploration and honest conversation rather than pretending to have all the answersThe transformative power of women sharing lived wisdom, language, ideas, and experiences with one anotherHow community and meaningful conversations remind us that we aren't as alone as we believeConsistency, courage, and the willingness to let your message evolve alongside youMeasuring backward, recognizing how far you've come, and remembering just how much can change in four yearsGiving yourself permission to begin, build slowly, and become someone you cannot yet fully imagineBe sure to hit subscribe so you never miss the latest episode!Connect with Emily:Website: www.EmilyReuschel.comInstagram: @emilyreuschelFacebook: Emily ReuschelLinkedIn: Emily ReuschelJoin my Book Insiders List: Sign up here!Resources and Links:Episode 001│Do It ScaredSign up here to get the inside scoop to my book writing journey!Book me as a speaker for your next event - email inquiries to emilyreuschel@gmail.com or schedule a call hereWild & Waking – Produced by Jill Carr Podcasting | Learn More

Seven years ago, I walked into a church basement in Colorado to become part of the very first This Naked Mind coaching certification. I had no idea how much that weekend would change my life. In this episode, I'm looking back at everything that happened after that—from coaching hundreds of clients, building my own business, and working alongside incredible mentors to discovering that some of my biggest lessons came from changing my mind. I share the coaching philosophy that has stayed with me, the approach I've completely shifted over the years, and why experience has taught me that one clear decision can change everything. Whether you're alcohol-free, thinking about becoming alcohol-free, or simply curious about how people grow over time, I hope this conversation reminds you that evolution isn't a sign you were wrong—it means you're still learning. This week, Scott sat down with his Lawfare colleagues Public Service Fellow Julia Curlee and Senior Editors Eric Columbus and Molly Roberts to talk through the week's big news in national security, including:“The Manchurian Candidates.” In a primetime address to the nation last Thursday, July 16, President Trump declassified a trove of intelligence documents that he claimed prove America's elections are dangerously vulnerable to foreign interference—particularly by China—and revived his long-standing, evidence-free assertions that the 2020 election was “rigged” against him. He ordered the Justice Department to prosecute those he claims were involved. But intelligence officials past and present, as well as the documents themselves, draw a sharp line between foreign influence campaigns and actual interference with vote counts—and none of the material supports the claim that any votes were changed. What is actually in the documents that President Trump has declassified? And what does his speech tell us about his intentions for the midterm elections and the 2028 elections beyond?“Leak and Ye Shall Find.” The Trump administration has dramatically escalated its campaign against leakers, culminating in grand jury subpoenas served to New York Times journalists, some at their homes, over their reporting on security concerns relating to the new Qatari-gifted Air Force One. The Pentagon and the Justice Department have stood up a joint task force to “identify and prosecute leakers,” and the New York Times is now fighting the subpoenas in court, calling them an attempt to intimidate the press that treads on First Amendment rights. The administration insists that reporters aren't the targets—only the people who actually leaked—and said that the reporters are simply witnesses. How much legal jeopardy do the reporters—and the media more broadly—actually face? And is this a genuine national security effort or an assault on press freedom?“Advise and Dissent.” Two of the administration's most consequential nominees—Jay Clayton, who has been nominated as Director of National Intelligence, and Todd Blanche, who has been nominated as Attorney General—sat for their Senate confirmation hearings last week. Clayton, currently U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, repeatedly declined to say that Joe Biden won the 2020 election, while Blanche was grilled over the now-“dead” anti-weaponization fund, the Epstein files, and the very NYT subpoenas he authorized. Both face unexpectedly narrow paths to confirmation, complicated by the sudden death of Sen. Lindsey Graham. What did we learn from the hearings? And what are each nominee's prospects for confirmation? In object lessons, Julia strums to the strifes it seems we can't escape. Eric compliments the coordinated collection of compost. Scott salutes Mr. The Frog and friends who are back on the small screen (and then gets scooped on another Muppet story). And Molly marvels at one of her many military morale patches. We explore why so many of us stop creating as we get older, how fear and perfectionism keep us stuck, and what it really takes to start building a life that feels authentic. This isn't really an episode about starting a business. It's about remembering who you were before fear, expectations and other people's opinions got in the way. We talk about learning to trust our instincts again, embracing imperfect creativity, and why sometimes the bravest thing you can do is simply begin.Jasmine shares why moving home gave her the space to finally pursue a creative dream she'd been putting off for years, while Timothy reflects on losing himself through work, ambition and the constant need to achieve. Together, we discuss how reconnecting with creativity has changed the way we think about success, purpose and happiness. If you've ever felt like you've lost yourself, struggled to start something you've always wanted to do, or wondered whether it's too late to change direction, this episode is for you.

In this episode of Derms and Conditions, host James Q. Del Rosso, DO, sits down with Melinda Gooderham, MD, for a wide-ranging conversation about the evolution of dermatology, clinical research, and the therapeutic advances that have transformed patient care over the course of her career. Dr Gooderham reflects on how an early frustration with patient access to emerging biologic therapies led her into clinical research, a decision that not only expanded treatment opportunities for her patients but also shaped her professional focus on inflammatory skin diseases. She discusses how participating in clinical trials deepens understanding of both disease states and therapeutic mechanisms, often accelerating the development of clinical expertise. The conversation explores some of the most dramatic changes she has witnessed in practice, particularly the impact of JAK inhibitors across multiple dermatologic conditions. Dr Gooderham shares observations from alopecia areata, granulomatous diseases, dermatomyositis, and bullous pemphigoid, highlighting instances where treatment responses exceeded expectations and significantly improved patients' quality of life. Dr Del Rosso and Dr Gooderham also discuss areas where therapeutic expectations have been more tempered, including in the role of oral PDE4 inhibitors in psoriasis, before turning to the future of dermatology. Topics include the emergence of highly effective oral therapies, the potential for extended-duration biologics, and how these advances may reshape treatment decision-making and patient preferences. They conclude with an important discussion on the growing emphasis on early intervention. As treatment options continue to expand, the challenge is increasingly not whether a disease can be treated, but whether patients can be identified and managed early enough to prevent irreversible consequences and optimize long-term outcomes. Tune in to the episode to hear Dr Gooderham's reflections on the therapies, discoveries, and clinical moments that have most influenced her career, along with her perspective on where dermatology may be headed next.

Noah's ark reveals a pattern woven throughout Scripture that speaks directly to our lives today. Rather than viewing the flood narrative as merely a children's story about animals and a boat, we discover it as a profound revelation of God's character—both perfectly just and overwhelmingly merciful. The text from Genesis 6-9 shows us humanity at its worst, so corrupted that every inclination was evil, yet in the midst of deserved judgment, Noah found favor with God. That Hebrew word 'hen' means unmerited favor, grace given purely out of delight and goodwill. We see a critical biblical pattern emerge: humanity rebels, sin spreads, judgment comes, but God provides grace and a remnant. This cycle repeats throughout Scripture, building anticipation for someone who would finally break the pattern. The ark was never humanity's final salvation—it pointed forward to Christ, the better Noah, the better ark. What makes this personally relevant is recognizing this same pattern in our own lives. We have all experienced rebellion, brokenness, and the desperate need for someone to provide a way we cannot create ourselves. The hope we carry is both cosmic and individual: God will one day restore all creation, ridding it of sin and death, and He offers that same restoration to each of us through Christ's finished work on the cross.

Axel once again sits down with Phil MacArthur — a Boston-based real estate broker and multifamily investor who has quietly bootstrapped a 125-unit portfolio across some of the most remote, tertiary markets in New Hampshire. Phil's story is a refreshingly honest account of what it actually looks like to build a portfolio the hard way: no outside capital, no institutional backing, just hustle, grinding commissions from Boston condo sales, and reinvesting every dollar back into the next deal.He also shares the management chaos he experienced, contractor war stories, and the key hires that finally allowed him to step back and operate at scale. This episode is essential listening for any investor who wants a real, unfiltered look at what bootstrapping a 100+ unit portfolio actually costs you — in time, stress, and opportunity — and what you'd do differently if you were starting over today.Join us as we dive into:Why Lake Sunapee and Farmington, NH — not Manchester or the Seacoast — were Phil's first markets, and how affordability and personal connection drove the decisionThe reality of self-managing 25+ units across remote New Hampshire while running a full-time brokerage in Boston — and why Phil calls it one of his biggest regretsHow Phil found his generalist property manager through his own tenant network, and why she became the "cork in the bow of the boat" for his portfolioWhy Phil recommends new investors finance renovations rather than self-fund them — and how selling Boston condos to fund New Hampshire renos slowed his growthThe hyperlocal bank strategy: why Phil targeted lenders that already held the existing debt on properties he was buying — and how that unlocked financing others couldn't getWhy New Hampshire has been largely insulated from the distress hitting other markets — flat expenses, stable insurance, and strong meds-and-eds demand drivers from BostonPhil's current buy box: Class B buildings purchased below replacement cost, separate utilities, light cosmetic value add — and why he's deliberately stepping back from heavy renovation workThe 90% tenant retention rate Phil has achieved — and why rapid maintenance response is the single biggest driver of whether a tenant stays or leavesConnect with Phil:Connect with him on LinkedinFollow Brady Capital on InstagramLearn more about Windrift Real Estate, LLCListen to the Previous Episode with Phil:Ep119 - Living in an Expensive Market and Investing out of State + Quickly Building a Personally Owned Portfolio of 70+ Units via Spotify or AppleAre you looking to invest in real estate, but don't want to deal with the hassle of finding great deals, signing on debt, and managing tenants? Sports superfans may seem to have been born bleeding their teams’ colors, but really, they’re created. It happens around formative events: a buzzer-beating come-from-behind win, a once-in-a-generation athlete or a championship season. This year probably saw a few Seattle uberfans get converted during the Seahawks’ dominating Superbowl performance. Tonight, some more sports fanatics may be formed. Game 4 of the Professional Women’s Hockey League finals begins in a few hours, and new champions could be crowned. Sadly, Seattle’s PWHL team, the Torrent, is not among those vying for the title. But the team still managed to capture its own share of superfans during their inaugural season. One of those is our producer Jason Burrows. If you’ve noticed that we mentioned the Torrent a lot this year, it’s because of him. We decided to let him have one more go, talking about his new favorite team. We were more than a little surprised to learn how far he has fallen. Prateeksha is a musician, a researcher, a composer, a counselor, and a writer. However, for the longest time, she was only thought of as a patient. She is a distinguished research fellow at the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research in Hyderabad and the founder of Brightside Family Counseling Center. She received a diagnosis of bipolar disorder as a college student and has managed these achievements while navigating the horrors and the gifts of psychosis. Prateeksha's writings critically examine psychiatric systems and foreground survivor perspectives. She brings intellectual depth and personal clarity to what it means to move from being labeled a patient, to being recognized as a person. In this interview, we discuss psychiatric subjectivation, medical zombification, the silencing effects of diagnosis, and how lived experience completely reshapes the conversation about mental health. *** Thank you for being with us to listen to the podcast and read our articles this year.
