Are you unknowingly sabotaging your client's concussion recovery by doing too much too soon—or doing the wrong “right” thing? Here's the hard truth: even the best rehab tools fall flat when clients lack the capacity to actually use them. And far too often, clinicians mistake “more” for “better,” piling on protocols without pausing to ask if the nervous system can actually handle it. In this episode of The Concussion Nerds Podcast, we're diving into the 3 biggest mistakes that keep both clinicians and clients spinning their wheels—mistakes that leave progress stalled and everyone frustrated. If you've ever wondered why someone “should” be getting better… but isn't? This episode is your lightbulb moment. BY THE TIME YOU FINISH LISTENING, YOU'LL DISCOVER: Why your client's perceived capacity may not match their actual nervous system capacity—and why that matters The common therapist trap of doing too much, too soon (and how to course correct without losing momentum) How “just keep doing it” exercise advice can backfire—and what to do instead Real-world examples of misdiagnosed exercise intolerance and the nuanced rehab strategies that actually helped Whether you're a clinician or someone walking your own healing path, this episode will challenge you to rethink your approach, slow down with intention, and start working with the nervous system instead of steamrolling it.

Joe Dawson is the owner/founder of Bruiser Industries, and a former Navy SEAL who has made it his life's work to teach and mentor others. Going back even to his time prior to serving in the Navy, from a young age, Joe had a interesting in counseling and helping others learned. Progressing through his military career, additional opportunities for instructing and educating others helped bring about what we all know today, as Bruiser Industries. Joe and I talked about the principles to teaching. Not only the what you're teaching, but how you do it, and why it should be done. It's very easy in our community to present yourself as a subject expert, and feign a desire to "teach" those around you. In reality, it requires a good amount of work and dedication. We got into the details of how the military approaches teaching, and also talked about the 2A community and the teaching problem many of us experience on a sometimes, daily basis. Billionaire investor and PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel sits down with Jordan Peterson for a powerful conversation about why real progress has stalled. Thiel argues that the last truly groundbreaking achievement may have been landing on the moon—and since then, we've slowed down. He explains how fear, red tape, and over-specialization have made us more cautious and less ambitious. They dig into how society has shifted away from building and inventing, toward digital distractions and endless talk. They also explore what's been lost as faith and meaning have disappeared from public life. From broken universities to status-driven culture wars, this is a deep and thought-provoking look at the challenges facing the West—and what we might do to turn things around. Peter Thiel is a German-born entrepreneur, venture capitalist, activist, and billionaire who emigrated to the U.S. as a child, eventually settling in California after years of moving between countries. A Stanford Law graduate, he began his career as a clerk and derivatives trader before founding Thiel Capital with $1 million from friends and family. Despite early setbacks, he co-founded Confinity, which became PayPal, launching a streak of ventures including Palantir, Clarium Capital, and early investment in Facebook. Thiel is an openly gay supporter of the Republican party, advocating for both equal rights and certain conservative policies, making his political stance admirably nuanced. Throughout human history, cultures have died and civilizations have vanished. Why? It's because, eventually, nations or people groups lose the foundational principles, the core values that allowed them to thrive and have success. When a nation allows poisonous enemies to begin to assault their core identity from within a nation has started the process of self-extinction. In today's podcast episode, we're diving deep into one of the most frustrating aspects of fitness: feeling stuck despite consistent training and effort. If you've ever wondered why your legs aren't changing, why your strength has plateaued, or why your workouts have lost their spark, this episode is for you. We'll unpack common misconceptions like the belief that more exercises, sets, and volume automatically lead to better results. Instead, you'll discover the true secrets behind breaking through plateaus: addressing your weakest links, mastering foundational movements, and training with strategic intensity. We also explore the often-overlooked importance of core stability, proper bracing techniques, and full-body integration, revealing how neglecting these foundational skills might be holding you back more than you realize. Learn why training near failure in lower rep ranges (5-8 reps) is crucial for optimizing muscle recruitment and neurological adaptations—leading directly to strength gains and a leaner physique.Nutrition's vital role is another key topic, emphasizing the importance of adequately fueling your workouts to avoid chronic fatigue and metabolic slowdowns. Lastly, we discuss the power of personalized programming and why adapting your training based on continuous feedback and individual strengths and weaknesses is essential for long-term, sustainable progress. Whether you're just starting or have years of training experience, this episode offers actionable insights and thought-provoking questions designed to challenge your current approach and help you envision a clear path to the results you desire.

Instagram Purchase Book - Beyond the Cosmic EdgeBioBorn on May 12, 1984, in a small village in Russia, surrounded by the untamed beauty of nature, the youngest of three siblings grew up immersed in a world of imagination. With a mother dedicated to nursing and a father working in the agricultural sector, a strong work ethic and deep appreciation for human connection were instilled early on. However, it was the vast fields and whispering forests that left the deepest imprint, serving as both playground and muse. With few children of the same age nearby, storytelling became a refuge—crafted from dreams, nature, and a boundless sense of adventure.Moving to the city for school opened new doors, uncovering a passion for literature, Buddhism, and psychology. Studying English and German further deepened an understanding of human nature, enriching a growing ability to create layered, compelling characters. The love of storytelling evolved into a desire to bring those narratives to life on screen, leading to an entry into the film industry. The journey began humbly—working as a talent assistant, fetching tea and coffee—while closely observing the intricate process of filmmaking. Every small task became an opportunity to absorb knowledge, watching how costumes, lighting, props, and camera work blended to create cinematic magic. Progressing through various roles, the ability to understand people—their emotions, motivations, and dreams—became the strongest asset. Eventually, working as a second assistant director provided an even deeper insight into the art of storytelling, refining skills in pacing, conflict, and resolution.Despite gaining experience, the ambition to create personal stories grew stronger, leading to the bold decision to move to Hollywood. Initial struggles made the journey difficult—taking on various jobs like babysitting, dishwashing, and assisting in different companies—while the passion for filmmaking remained unwavering. Visits to film sets and theaters served as a reminder of where true belonging lay: within the heart of storytelling.Returning to writing, old manuscripts filled with ideas reignited inspiration. One concept, born from a friend's fear of joining a street dance community, stood out. It led to the creation of Fear as a character—one that danced alongside her, embodying internal struggles. This idea transformed into a short film, later shared with producer Mark Buntzman, whose belief in the project was a pivotal moment. Conversations over tea with Mark and his wife, Jenya, centered on overcoming fears, shaping not only the work but the entire storytelling approach.Fueled by this support, the concept expanded into an entire universe, culminating in a completed book. Years of refinement followed, including edits and cover design, all while continuing to build the story into a film and series concept alongside a husband and creative partner. The second and third parts of the story took shape, solidifying the vision. In 2024, with the arrival of a child, work briefly slowed but never stopped. Now, with renewed focus, preparations are underway to launch the campaign for the first book, with full confidence that the story will one day make its way to the big screen. Through the power of storytelling, the journey continues—one of adventure, courage, and the unwavering pursuit of turning imagination into reality.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/creator-to-creators-with-meosha-bean--4460322/support.
