We teach our teams biblical truths we call the iGo Core Values in order to prepare them for their mission trip, and to help them live on mission. But these Core Values are bigger than just mission prep. They inform our approach to all of life. Training mission teams can easily get overlooked, but it is crucial to seeing a long-term impact from a short-term mission trip. Cory Liebrum (Youth and Family Ministry Specialist for the BGCT) joined the show to talk about his passion for providing training for ministry. Cory served in the local church for over 20 years before taking on his new role with Texas Baptists. We talked about his focus on training, about Conclave, and about what Cory would do if he was starting out in youth ministry today. Let's go camping! The partnership between iGo and Dwell is now official in every way. Nick Gainey, founder of Dwell along with Jarrid Hawkins, Dwell's Texas Week Director joined us on the podcast to talk about all things Dwell. We talked about the history, the vision, and the way God is growing it. And we also talked about the role youth camp plays in the discipleship of teenagers. COVID has taught us so much about what is and isn't essential. We believe youth camp experiences, done the right way, are absolutely essential. We got the chance to check in with Trey Fleming (missionary in Japan) while he is here in Texas on stateside with his family. We got an update on Trey, his family, the work in Osaka and the great need for students to come share the gospel when Japan reopens. We also asked Trey to share his story regarding his call to ministry and missions. Does God still call students into vocational ministry? Of course he does, but we might not emphasize it enough these days. Rick Cavitt has been in youth ministry for well over 30 years and he joined the podcast to give advice to students who are considering/exploring a call to ministry. Rick also speaks to student ministers regarding how to lead students in this area. One of the all-time iGo greats joined the podcast via Zoom from Austin, Texas. Kristin Schroder joined us to talk about the long-term impact from her time with iGo. She handled the ridiculous Rapid Fire questions with poise and humility, and even helped answer some long-time iGo questions. She shared about her three trips to Japan and how God worked in and through her there. And how her iGo experiences continue to impact her as she lives on mission today. You have to check out the ministry she works with - Moving Works (www.movingworks.org) and the films they make. So great! We love Kristin's story and how she is living for His glory. 

The stories reveal the long-term impact. Abby Hopkins checked in from Denver via Zoom where she attends Denver Seminary. Abby is an iGo Jimmy, former student, and one of those diehard Super Summer gals! She shares her iGo story and the way God used iGo to impact her life. So much greatness in her story and thoughts. iGosian and former Jimmy, Holly Shipp joins me from her dorm room in Arkansas (via Zoom) to tell her iGo story, with some Rapid Fire fun mixed in, of course. Holly tells a great story about God answering her team's prayer in a specific and unexpectedly big way in North Africa. She also talks about the long-term impact of iGo teaching and training. Her story will encourage you. 

We talked with Mike Martindale, Pastor of The Heights Fellowship in Lubbock, Texas about the essential nature of ministry to teens. Mike has been leading ministry in Texas for years! He served as a youth minister, Super Summer leader, Hot Hearts Director, and now as a pastor. He has so much experience and wisdom to share when it comes to youth ministry. Check out what he has to say about building a biblical culture within your youth group. 

The third part of this series of interviews with Nick Watts deals with suicide. This is so important and so helpful. We are so thankful that Nick was willing to take the time to share with us. This is also really intense and really raw. Nick's son, Jordan, took his own life 8 years ago. Nick tells that story, shares his experience, gives us a ton of help related to this topic, and points us to the hope that we have in Jesus. Please listen and please share this with your friends.

Short-term missions. Long-term impact. And you really see that impact in the stories of our alumni. Scott Partridge joins us via Zoom from Germany where he serves on the front lines as a missionary to discuss how God used iGo over his many experiences to shape his life. 

The best way to see the long-term impact is through the stories. iGosian Airwaves checked in over the pond with Rachel Partridge. Rachel, her husband (iGo alum, Scotty P) and two kids live and serve as M's in Germany. Rachel tells her iGo story in this episode of The Stories. 

Jeff Graves (Youth Pastor at Grace Bible, LaVernia) joins Ky and Shu via Zoom to talk youth ministry, Launch Box San Antonio, and all things Plainview, Texas. Check it out. 

John Davison (Super Summer veteran and College Pastor at FBC Bryan) joins us for part 2 of our conversation about living out your faith in college. John provided super helpful insights for students preparing for college as well as those already in college. He also shared thoughts for youth minsters as they prepare their students for those college years. And you do NOT want to miss John's legendary Super Summer stories. Worth the listen right there. 

In this episode we interview Joel Bratcher. Joel is the BSM director in Aggieland and has over 30 years of college ministry. We talked with Joel about how to best prepare students to own their faith, live out their faith, and share their faith in college. So good and so helpful to students and youth pastors. Joel also dominated Rapid Fire at the end. 

Ryan Gilchrist, Youth Pastor at FBC Stephenville connected on Zoom to discuss youth ministry in a pandemic, ways to keep students connected, how to help students become disciples, and why he loves Launch Box. Did we do Rapid Fire with Ryan? We wouldn't miss it! 

Shu and Ky sat down with iGo staff member Jami Lee Gainey. We went back in the time machine to talk about her experiences as a student with iGo in Japan. We also talked about her life on mission and role on the iGo team. And of course, we made Jami Lee participate in some fun iGo podcast segments. 

Shu and Ky sat down for an interview with iGo's own Sarah Arnett to talk about the long-term impact of iGo. Don't miss the new Texas Highlights segment and the Rapid Fire questions at the end. 

We zoomed in with iGosian Gavin Hart to discuss the long-term impact from his time with iGo Global. We also put Gavin on the hot seat for some rapid fire questions you don't want to miss. Those are around the 55 minute mark, give or take.

Another iGosian doing great things. Nathaniel Kuhns, now the Student Associate for the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention stopped by "the studio" for a conversation with Shu and Ky. Nathaniel shared about the long-term impact from his iGo experiences, and how they continue to influence him today as a ministry leader. And Ky just couldn't get over how much Nathaniel has grown up! 

A conversation with Jake Stacks - iGosian, Jimmy, DBU student, and current record holder for most iGo Global trips. Jake and Shu talk about the Lasting Impact of his experiences with iGo. 

Trey Fleming joined us via Zoom from Osaka, Japan and the future (they are 14 hours ahead) to give us an update on life, ministry, and the need for students and churches to join the work God is doing in Osaka.
