Instead, she unknowingly married a violent psychopath whose abuse would leave permanent physical and emotional scars. “Little did she know that she married a violent psychopath who took both her and her unborn daughter to death's door on more than one occasion.” What began as a marriage eventually spiraled into years of horrific domestic violence that nearly cost Victoria her life. The brutal assaults caused catastrophic injuries that forced her to undergo more than 100 surgeries over the years. The violence also left her with lifelong disabilities that continue to impact her every day. Yet despite unimaginable suffering, Victoria refused to let the abuse define her future. The episode is available across major platforms including their website, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, with highlights shared across their Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn profiles. The Hidden Reality of Domestic Violence in America Victoria's story reflects a much larger crisis affecting millions of people throughout the United States. Domestic violence remains one of the most widespread and underreported forms of violence in America. Her Journey From Domestic Violence And The Lasting Impact: Special Episode, How One Woman Survived Unimaginable Abuse, Endured 100+ Surgeries, and Turned Trauma Into Hope for Others. Domestic violence is often hidden behind closed doors. According to the FBI's special report on Domestic Violence in the USA, more than 11,000 domestic violence murder victims and an additional 1.1 million domestic violence victims were reported by participating law enforcement agencies over a five-year period. Nearly 75 percent of those victims were women. The FBI also found that violent crimes involving domestic relationships continue to rise across the country. In addition, the FBI released a separate analysis focused on teen relationship violence, revealing more than 70,500 incidents reported in just one year alone. Available for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and most major Podcast networks. These numbers paint a disturbing picture of how deeply domestic violence affects American families and communities. The Long-Term Impact of Trauma The National Institutes of Health says domestic and family violence affects nearly 10 million people every year in the United States. Experts explain that abuse is not limited to physical violence alone. Victims may also experience: Emotional abuse Psychological manipulation Financial control Sexual abuse Isolation Threats and intimidation Domestic violence can lead to: Lifelong physical injuries PTSD and anxiety Depression Chronic pain Loss of income Homelessness Decreased quality of life Death “Domestic violence causes worsened psychological and physical health, decreased quality of life, decreased productivity, and in some cases, mortality.” Healthcare professionals and law enforcement officers regularly encounter victims of domestic violence, yet many cases still go unreported because victims fear retaliation, embarrassment, financial ruin, or further violence. Her Journey From Domestic Violence And The Lasting Impact: Special Episode. This compelling conversation is available across Podcast platforms including Apple, Spotify, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn, where social audiences continue engaging with powerful stories about trauma, recovery, and resilience. For many survivors, escaping is only the first step. Healing can take years. From Survivor to Advocate What makes Victoria Coure's story especially powerful is what happened after the abuse ended. Victoria wrote a deeply personal Book titled Who Kicked First: A Memoir, detailing her horrifying experiences and difficult journey toward healing and survival. The Podcast is available for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, iHeartradio and most major podcast platforms. For more than 16 years, the organization has provided support to survivors of domestic violence and families with special needs. Her Journey From Domestic Violence And The Lasting Impact: Special Episode. As someone who is: A survivor of severe abuse A parent of a special needs child Living with disabilities herself Victoria understands firsthand how difficult it can be to find assistance, support, and understanding. Her mission now focuses on helping others survive the very struggles she once faced alone. Why Survivor Stories Matter Stories like Victoria's are difficult to hear. But they are necessary. Domestic violence often thrives in silence. This compelling conversation is available across Podcast platforms including Apple, Spotify, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn, where social audiences continue engaging with powerful stories about trauma, recovery, and resilience. Many victims feel ashamed, isolated, or afraid to ask for help. Others believe no one will understand what they are experiencing. That is why survivor voices are so important. In this conversation, Lawrence Joss and psychologist Faust Ruggiero explore the trauma responses many alienated parents experience while navigating parental alienation, estrangement, and high-conflict family systems. Together, they unpack how chronic stress, fear, hypervigilance, and unresolved grief affect the nervous system—and why many parents begin living in a constant state of emotional and physical survival.Blending clinical insight with lived experience, the discussion examines PTSD, nervous system dysregulation, emotional overwhelm, and the physical symptoms that often go unnoticed during alienation. Lawrence reflects on his own reconnection journey and the challenge of teaching the body to recognize safety again, even during positive moments. Grounded in recovery, self-awareness, and emotional regulation, this conversation reminds us that healing is not about becoming emotionless—it's about slowly coming home to yourself. The topic of matchmaking agencies, now often calling themselves "matchmakers," Michael is critical of their approach. He highlights that most matchmakers are women who prioritize money as the main attribute when pairing men and women, which leads to transactional relationships, undermining genuine desire. He insists that leading with money makes it impossible to generate authentic attraction. This transactional nature blurs the lines between matchmaking and escort services, with some escorts reportedly using matchmakers as a softer version of prostitution.   00:00 - Navigating Modern Dating Challenges and "Shielding" from Stimulus 03:21 - The Reality of Modern Matchmaking and the Failure of Financial Leading 07:44 - The "Male Upgrade Struggle" vs. the "Female Glow Up" 11:47 - The Limitation of Dating Advice from Different Lived Experiences 14:55 - The Universal Male Struggle and Global Community Diversity 17:26 - Insights from Club Promotion: Social Proof and Pre-Selection 20:08 - Data vs. Perspective: Why You Shouldn't Ask Women for Dating Advice 21:42 - Proven Studies on Attraction: The Cheerleader Effect and Female Approval 24:45 - Building Social Circles and the Importance of High-Status Networking 38:12 - High-Value Lifestyles: Impact of Personal Branding and Aesthetics 52:30 - Overcoming Limiting Beliefs and the Psychology of Success 01:05:15 - Strategic Networking: How to Enter Elite Social Circles 01:22:40 - The Long-Term Impact of Self-Improvement and Community Support 01:30:31 - Final Thoughts and Episode Wrap-Up ————————————————————

Sex Abuse in His Childhood and Adult Relationships, Tips for Prevention. Childhood should be a time of safety, growth, and innocence. For Mike Elder, it was anything but. Between the ages of 10 and 11, he endured sexual abuse at the hands of multiple individuals, people who were not strangers, but trusted figures within his world. The Podcast is available for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube and most major podcast platforms. #Free #Podcast #Radio “He was abused by people his parents knew,” the account explains. “People who had access, who built trust, and then used that trust to harm him.” The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast social media like their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. Like many survivors, Mike's experience was not a single incident. It was a pattern, one shaped by grooming, manipulation, and silence. Supporting articles about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium , Blogspot and Linkedin . Grooming, Trust, and Betrayal Grooming is often misunderstood, yet it is one of the most common pathways to abuse. It involves building emotional connection and trust with a child and often with their family, before crossing boundaries. Sex Abuse in His Childhood and Adult Relationships, Tips for Prevention. “He didn't fully understand what was happening at the time,” the story reflects. “Like many children, he wasn't developmentally prepared to process or consent to what was being done to him.” This aligns with how child sexual abuse is defined: any sexual activity involving a minor that they cannot fully comprehend, cannot consent to, or are not developmentally prepared for. The episode is available across major platforms including their website, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, with highlights shared across their Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn profiles. What makes cases like Mike's even more troubling is how common they are. At least 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 20 boys in the United States experience child sexual abuse. Nearly 90% of abusers are known to the child or their family. Many victims never report the abuse, meaning the real numbers are likely far higher. “The danger isn't always outside,” Mike emphasizes. “Sometimes it's already inside the circle of trust.” Finding the Courage to Speak For years, Mike carried the weight of what happened to him. Eventually, he made the difficult decision to tell people close to him. Sex Abuse in His Childhood and Adult Relationships, Tips for Prevention. Available for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and most major Podcast networks. “When he finally spoke up, it changed everything,” the story shares. “But not always in the ways he hoped.” The reaction from his parents became a defining moment, one that added another layer to his trauma, while also shaping how he would navigate relationships and trust moving forward. For many survivors, disclosure is not a single moment of relief it can be complex, painful, and unpredictable. “Speaking up is one of the hardest things a child can do,” Mike says. “And how adults respond can either begin healing… or deepen the wound.” The Long-Term Impact on Relationships Although the abuse eventually stopped, its effects did not. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast on social media like their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. “The abuse ended,” the story explains, “but the recovery has taken a lifetime.” Childhood sexual trauma often carries into adulthood, affecting: Emotional regulation and trust Romantic and personal relationships Self-worth and identity Mental health, including anxiety, depression, and PTSD For Mike, these challenges were not abstract, they were lived experiences. Sex Abuse in His Childhood and Adult Relationships, Tips for Prevention. You can listen to the complete interview for free on our website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and most major podcast platforms. “It impacted his relationships across the board,” the narrative states. “How he connected with people, how he saw himself, and how he processed intimacy.” A Turning Point: An Unexpected Source of Change Amid the pain, there were moments that sparked transformation. One of the most unexpected catalysts came from something simple a childhood crush. “That moment became an impetus for change,” Mike reflects. “It gave him a glimpse of something different, something healthier.” While it may seem small, moments like these can become anchors for survivors, points of reference that show another way forward. Sex Abuse in His Childhood and Adult Relationships, Tips for Prevention. You can find the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, X (formerly Twitter), and LinkedIn, as well as read companion articles and updates on Medium, Blogspot, YouTube, and even IMDB. Art as an Outlet for Healing When words were not enough, Mike found another way to express what he had been through: art. “Art became his outlet,” the story shares. “It allowed him to process emotions he couldn't fully explain.” Over time, that outlet evolved into a powerful form of expression and identity. Today, Mike Elder is an artist who works across multiple mediums, including: Sculpture Murals Custom cake artistry “Yes, cakes,” the story notes. “Something creative, detailed, and meaningful. Even something as unexpected as cake design became part of his healing journey.” Articles about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium , Blogspot and Linkedin . Through art, Mike found a way to take control of his narrative, transforming pain into something tangible, something visible, something that speaks. “Art gave him a voice when he didn't feel like he had one,” he says. Why Awareness Matters: The Reality of Child Sexual Abuse Child sexual abuse is not just an individual issue, it's a widespread public health and societal concern. The episode is available across major platforms including their website, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, with highlights shared across their Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn profiles. The impact can span a lifetime, affecting how a person thinks, feels, and behaves. Survivors may face both short and long-term consequences, including: Physical health impacts: Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) Physical injuries Increased risk of chronic conditions such as heart disease, obesity, and cancer Emotional and psychological impacts: Depression and anxiety Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) Substance abuse Difficulty forming healthy relationships “The effects don't just disappear,” Mike emphasizes. “They evolve, they resurface, and they require ongoing work.” A Powerful Message for Families: Prevention Starts at Home One of the most impactful aspects of Mike Elder's story is his message for those who care for children. His top tip is direct and urgent: “Never assume someone is safe just because they're familiar.” He encourages parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles to: Stay actively involved in their children's lives Know who has access to them and under what circumstances Teach children about boundaries and body autonomy early Create an environment where children feel safe speaking openly Take any concerns or disclosures seriously, immediately “Kids don't always have the words,” Mike says. “But they'll show you in other ways if something's wrong.” Available for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and most major Podcast networks. The Power of Telling the Story Today, Mike Elder is sharing his experience not just for himself, but for others. “There's power in telling the story,” the narrative explains. “Not just for healing, but for helping others recognize, prevent, and respond to abuse.” By speaking out, he is helping to break the silence that allows abuse to continue unchecked. Listen, Learn, and Be Part of the Conversation Mike Elder's story is featured in a powerful episode available across multiple platforms: Facebook • Instagram • YouTube • Apple • Spotify • Podcast • News The episode is free to access, offering listeners a deeper understanding of trauma, resilience, and prevention. In this episode, the hosts present a structured four-step framework aimed at facilitating regular expense audits, which ideally should be conducted annually. The discussion includes practical strategies for tracking subscriptions, variable expenses, and distinguishing between required and discretionary spending. By adopting a calculated approach to expenses, you can effectively mitigate lifestyle creep while ensuring every dollar serves a purpose. Key Tactical Takeaways Conduct an Annual Expense Audit: Establish a routine to review expenses at least once a year to stay on top of spending habits and identify areas for improvement. Categorize Every Expense: Break down expenditures into necessary (fixed costs) and discretionary (variable costs) categories for clearer insights. Use a Value Matrix: Assess expenses based on their joy and necessity to inform which should be retained, reduced, or eliminated. Track Subscriptions and Variable Costs: Pay attention to recurring payments, particularly those related to entertainment and services like streaming or software. Calculate the Long-Term Impact of Small Savings: Remember that cutting small monthly expenses can significantly affect your financial independence number over time. The episode highlights lessons learned, the importance of mentorship, community impact, and practical advice for building effective internship programs, especially in the legal field. Having a solid internship program can really make your law firm stand out and be something to use to attract and retain new talent. Adam speaks to some of the key things to have when formalizing a program. One thing to incorporate is speakers. This will create a real world experience for interns who can learn from the best. Adam had some judges speak to his summer interns this past year. Another component is having a summer book club which makes the program more formal and curriculum based. His students read a book on the federal criminal justice system, written by a judge.Adam and Tyson chat about how to recruit for an internship program. One thing a firm can do is create some marketing materials to promote the firm. If you have a good relationship with colleges and universities in your city, you can connect with them to help promote the program to their students. Something to consider, which is something Adam has done in his firm, is connect with criminal justice organizations to help recruit individuals who don't have a background in law to intern at the firm. These can be individuals who are looking for a change in career or who have been in contact with the law and want to work in the field.Listen in to learn more about creating a robust internship program!4:04 Growth and Speaking to Students10:18 Formalizing A Program14:06 Program Structure & Recruitment 17:28 Advice for Starting an Internship Program20:27 Long-Term Impact & Networking Connect with Adam:Website  Tune in to today's episode and checkout the full show notes here.

✨ Invest in your family relationships—not just another parenting course. Join The Amazing Parents Club for the complete 5 C's framework + community → https://www.drlindsayemmerson.com/club  In this video, I explain the critical mistake parents often make between ages 6–11 that determines whether their child hides struggles or turns to them for support during the teen years. Drawing on decades of research and my work with families, I show how tying love to performance creates anxiety and perfectionism, while unconditional positive regard builds trust, resilience, and open communication. You'll learn what unconditional acceptance looks like in everyday moments during failures, disappointments, and successes—and why becoming your child's safe place now shapes the relationship you'll have with them for life. New to my podcast?  I'm Dr. Lindsay Emmerson, a clinical psychologist and Mom of 4, and I help parents find that sweet spot between support and structure that psychology research tells us is best for families now and best for our kids in the future. ------------------------------------------- Let's connect! The most generous people give something money can't buy—their time, their presence, and their love.Generosity reaches far beyond finances. It shapes hearts, strengthens families, and builds communities of grace. Today, Sharon Epps joins us to talk about the long-term impact of generous living.Sharon Epps is the President of Kingdom Advisors, FaithFi's parent organization. Kingdom Advisors serves the broad Christian financial industry by educating and equipping professionals to integrate biblical wisdom and financial expertise.A Simple Question That Changes EverythingIf you've ever wondered what true generosity looks like, it's often simpler—and closer to home—than we think. Generosity isn't measured by dollar amounts or estate plans; it's written on the faces and in the actions of people who live with open hearts. In fact, if you ask someone a simple question like this, you will move their hearts more than you know:“Think about the most generous person you know. What do they look like? What's their countenance? Their posture?”Take a moment to picture them. Chances are, their face lights up your mind's eye. They're probably joyful, peaceful, genuine—and not necessarily wealthy. That's because generosity is about heart, not income. It's about presence, not possessions. When we make generosity personal, it changes us. We stop thinking in abstract ideas and start remembering real people who gave freely of themselves—and in doing so, reflected the heart of Christ. When this question is asked, the answers are often the same: a grandparent, an aunt, an uncle—someone who gave of themselves through love, laughter, and listening. These aren't people who built foundations or donated millions. They modeled generosity through steady love and consistency. That's what long-term generosity looks like. It starts at home and grows outward.Redefining Long-Term ImpactWhen we hear “long-term impact,” our minds often jump to wills, trusts, or endowments. Those are important tools, but they're not the whole story. True long-term impact happens when we invest our lives, not just our assets.Every day, we have the chance to sow generosity through acts of service, hospitality, and encouragement. These simple seeds—when planted faithfully—bear fruit that outlasts any financial gift because they grow in people's hearts. If you long to leave a legacy of generosity, start small.Serve one person this week. Ask God to show you where you can listen, encourage, or help.Be steady and intentional. Generosity grows through daily habits, not grand gestures.Practice generosity with time and words. The way you invest relationally today can change someone's tomorrow.Over time, those small acts of faithfulness will shape the kind of life others remember as generous.Generosity is most powerful when it's shared. Families that give together cultivate hearts that reflect God's heart. Take your children with you when you serve at a food pantry. Let them see generosity in action. Talk about giving not as an obligation but as a joyful response to God's grace.A Practical Tool for GivingOne practical way to make giving intentional is through a donor-advised fund—or what our friends at the National Christian Foundation call a Giving Fund. It's like a charitable checking account where you can deposit money now and prayerfully decide later how to distribute it.Opening one is quick and easy, and it's a great way to involve your children or grandchildren in deciding where to give. You can learn more or start one in under five minutes at FaithFi.com/NCF.Generosity Flows Toward PeopleIn the end, generosity isn't about how much we give—it's about who we're becoming. It's not just an act; it's a lifestyle. When our generosity flows toward people instead of possessions, we participate in God's ongoing story of redemption. That's the kind of impact that lasts far beyond our lifetime. On Today's Program, Rob Answers Listener Questions:I really want to honor God with my giving. I've been thinking about donating to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and to my local church. Should I split my giving between the two, or focus everything on my church?I called about Qualified Charitable Distributions before, and your explanation helped—but I'm still not sure I understand them. At age 70, it seems like you lose out on any interest or growth from that money, and you can't take a tax deduction. So why would anyone do a QCD at that age? Would it ever make sense to take money from a Roth IRA instead? And are there income levels where a QCD just doesn't make sense? How can I strike the right balance between managing my money wisely and living with radical generosity?I have about $100,000 invested across the S&P 500, NASDAQ, and Dow, but I'm wondering if that's too risky. Would it be safer to put everything into the S&P 500, or is there a better approach? At 76, should I shift more into bonds—and if so, what kind would you recommend?Resources Mentioned:Faithful Steward: FaithFi's New Quarterly Magazine (Become a FaithFi Partner)National Christian Foundation (NCF)Redeeming Money: How God Reveals and Reorients Our Hearts by Paul David TrippWisdom Over Wealth: 12 Lessons from Ecclesiastes on MoneyLook At The Sparrows: A 21-Day Devotional on Financial Fear and AnxietyRich Toward God: A Study on the Parable of the Rich FoolFind a Certified Kingdom Advisor (CKA) or Certified Christian Financial Counselor (CertCFC)FaithFi App Remember, you can call in to ask your questions every workday at (800) 525-7000. This episode of the Tactical Living Podcast, hosted by Coach Ashlie Walton and Sergeant Clint Walton, explores the critical gap between the training ground and the reality of the field (Amazon Affiliate). While simulations sharpen technical skills, they rarely prepare first responders for the emotional aftermath of a traumatic call. We unpack why this disconnect exists, the hidden cost of unaddressed emotional impact, and how to better equip responders for both the tactical and mental sides of the job. The Strengths of Simulation Training: Why repetitive skill practice builds confidence and speed. How scenario-based drills mimic high-pressure decision-making. Where Simulations Fall Short: The emotional detachment of training compared to real-world trauma. Why stress inoculation doesn't always translate to emotional resilience. The Shock of First-Time Exposure: How sensory details, grief, and chaos hit harder in the field. Why early traumatic experiences can shape long-term coping patterns. Unspoken Cultural Barriers: The expectation to “shake it off” after a difficult call. Why admitting emotional struggle is still stigmatized in many departments. The Long-Term Impact of Ignored Fallout: How cumulative stress and unresolved trauma build toward burnout or PTSD. The ripple effect on relationships, decision-making, and mental health. Strategies to Bridge the Gap: Integrate Emotional Debriefs into Training: Include discussions on emotional response alongside skill critique. Normalize Mental Rehearsal for Trauma: Practice emotional grounding and self-talk techniques before the real thing. Pair Training with Peer Support Exposure: Introduce recruits to safe spaces for sharing and processing. Leadership Modeling Vulnerability: Supervisors openly discussing their own emotional fallout experiences. Ongoing Mental Resilience Training: Treat emotional readiness like physical skills—requiring regular refreshers. This episode challenges the idea that technical proficiency alone equals readiness, reminding us that true preparedness includes the mental tools to face what happens after the sirens fade.
