TVC 688.3: Longtime television announcer Randy West joins Ed as TV Confidential continues its special program-length tribute to game show legend Wink Martindale. Randy was Wink's announcer on five game shows for the Family Channel, including Trivial Pursuit, Boggle, and Jumble. Among other topics in this segment, Randy mentions what he believes are the two reasons for Martindale's great success: his roots in Middle America (which Wink never forgot), and his genuine love for people, which particularly showed during Wink's interactions with the contestants on his various shows. Wink Martindale passed away on Tuesday, Apr. 15, 2025 at age ninety-nine.
TVC 688.2: Steve Beverly, retired professor of broadcast journalism at Union University in Jackson, TN (the hometown of Wink Martindale), game show historian, and the host of Steve Beverly's TV Classics, talks to Ed about how Wink never lost sights of his roots in Jackson, TN; how the success of the Martindale version of Tic Tac Dough in the 1970s forever changed the public perception of that particular game show (because the original Tic Tac Dough had been tarnished by the quiz show scandal of the late 1950s); and how Martindale's Tic Tac Dough really took off in syndication in 1979, becoming the No. 1. syndicated game show (after failing on CBS the year before), with the “Ken Jennings-like” success of contestant Thom McKee. Also in this segment: Steve and Ed discuss the new version of Tic Tac Dough, hosted by Brooke Burns, which premiered on Game Show Network on Apr. 14, 2025. Wink Martindale passed away on Tuesday, Apr. 15, 2025 at age ninety-nine. Steve Beverly recently re-aired Wink Comes Home, a 90-minute special that he hosted in November 2007 at Union University in which Wink discussed his life and career and took questions from the studio audience, as part of Steve Beverly's TV Classics. In this segment, Steve Beverly, retired professor of broadcast journalism at Union University in Jackson, TN (the hometown of Wink Martindale), game show historian, and the host of Steve Beverly's TV Classics, talks to Ed about Martindale developed his skills as a “quality ad-libber” early in his career by doing play-by-play for high school sports broadcasts; how he was often a de facto producer on the set of his game shows, always adapting to changing conditions in the format of the game (particularly in moments when things when awry); and why, unlike most broadcasters, Martindale was never afraid to take a risk by going to a bigger market. Steve Beverly recently re-aired Wink Comes Home, a 90-minute special that he hosted in November 2007 at Union University in which Wink discussed his life and career and took questions from the studio audience, as part of Steve Beverly's TV Classics. Just in time for warmer, spring temps and the insect pests that seem to come along, Tech On Demand host Bill Calkins caught up with Broch Martindale, the national nursery and strategic account manager at Corteva. The discussion centers on pest management in greenhouses and nurseries but because Broch is a phenomenal educator and “coach” there are plenty of best management practices and training strategies mixed in. Broch and Bill start with a conversation about XXpire, an insecticide with two active ingredients that provides control for 39 pests—while minimizing phytotoxicity risk and risk to beneficials and pollinators. Then the topic shifts to IPM and the steps greenhouse teams can take to create a holistic plan that leads to results. Broch then dives into the importance of resistance management, a topic that is becoming more critical each year and one that he has plenty of expertise in and experience to share. Send us a textIn this episode of "2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates," Drew and Rob tackle a packed agenda, diving into the latest headlines, developments, and season recaps surrounding the Giants. The show kicks off with the shocking news that the Giants have fired Defensive Backs Coach Jerome Henderson, who had been with the team since 2020. Safeties Coach Mike Treier was also let go. Henderson was instrumental in developing rookies Tyler Nubin and Dru Phillips into productive players this season, and his past work included helping elevate players like Fabian Moreau and Jason Pinnock. However, a massive drop in turnovers, including a franchise-record 11 straight games without an interception, and the limited development of Deonte Banks seem to have factored into the decision. The show shifts to discussions about potential coaching changes at other levels, focusing on the future of former Giants Defensive Coordinator Wink Martindale. After a stint as Michigan's defensive coordinator, Martindale is interviewing for NFL positions, including meetings with the Falcons and Colts, with the Bengals rumored to be interested. Drew and Rob also cover some welcome news for fans: the Giants will not be raising ticket prices for the 2025 season. Season ticket holders received confirmation through a letter, ensuring some stability for those attending games at MetLife Stadium. A highlight of the episode is the recognition of rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers, who has been nominated for NFL Rookie of the Year. Nabers set a Giants franchise record for receptions in a season with 109 catches, surpassing Steve Smith's 2009 record of 107. His achievements also placed him second in receptions and receiving yards among rookies this year and broke the all-time rookie record for games with five or more receptions. While he is a standout candidate, Drew and Rob acknowledge that he may finish behind his college quarterback Jayden Daniels or fellow rookie Brock Bowers, given the historic competition. Finally, the episode concludes with an in-depth review of the Giants' defensive line performance during the 2024 season. Dexter Lawrence led the group with another dominant season, recording nine sacks, 16 quarterback hits, and a stellar 89.9 PFF grade. Other players like Rakeem Nunez-Roches and Elijah Chatman provided moments of impact, while others, such as DJ Davidson and Elijah Garcia, contributed in more limited roles. The hosts also touch on the futures of free agents like Armon Watts and the potential for offseason changes to bolster this unit. This comprehensive episode offers Giants fans everything they need to stay up-to-date on coaching changes, player milestones, and a detailed look at one of the team's key positional groups as the offseason begins. Whether it's celebrating Malik Nabers' historic rookie campaign or analyzing the defensive line's ups and downs, Drew and Rob provide a thorough breakdown of all things Giants.#giants #nygiants #nflSupport the showAll Episodes are shot LIVE with fan interactions on Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, & TwitchSponsor the show at: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/2giantgoofballsInterested in starting a podcast. “Who knew that a barrel of maple syrup is worth more than a barrel of oil?” Margo Martindale does, after starring in The Sticky (December 6, Prime Video). The Emmy-winning actor plays Ruth Landry, a Canadian syrup farmer who resorts to crime after the government threatens to take away her livelihood. “It's very different, very fun and what an incredible subject.” Inspired by a true story and produced by Oscar-winner Jamie Lee Curtis, Martindale's Ruth adds to a resume of unsuspecting yet extraordinary women. “The difference in this woman is that she starts at her most desperate. And that's fun.” And while “she does have her feet on the ground,” she's pushed to the limit and decides “to steal some maple syrup. It's so logical to me.” [laughs] Even though Martindale has mostly “taken the supporting role” over the course of her long and lauded career, The Sticky marks her first major starring role. But for her, it's about the work. “When I sit a long time, I go, ‘Why aren't my agents calling me? What's going on? Is something happening?' It never fails.”See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
After watching Prime Video's The Sticky, it became clear that the Margo Martindale praise needed to continue with some of her co-stars. Chris Diamantopoulos is one of the “cohorts” Margo spoke about in our chat, and he's fantastic in the Jamie Lee Curtis-produced series. Diamantopoulos plays Mike, one of the two men who help Martindale's Ruth in her illegal plot to “steal some maple syrup,” as Martindale says. And The Sticky is a culmination of a lot of impressive work in Diamantopoulos' career, who has played everything from Broadway to performances in films like The Boys in the Boat and Red Notice. (You need to watch him in Mrs. Davis.) (Oh, and you may even recognize his voice from his extensive voice work.) Diamantopoulos chats with Newsweek about The Sticky, why Margo Martindale is so great, and how The Sticky is a love letter to Canada (in its own special way). Dr. Hunter Martaindale is the Director of Research at the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) Center at Texas State University and an Associate Research Professor within the School of Criminal Justice and Criminology. In this role, he oversees all research activities for ALERRT, including analyzing active shooter events, conducting active shooter training program evaluations through experimental design, and testing methods/interventions to improve law enforcement decision-making and overall performance. Beyond that, Hunter actively supports other researchers with applied policing projects in an effort to get actionable results to practitioners. In this podcast, Dr. Martindale discusses his research on virtual reality (VR) training in law enforcement. The purpose of the study was to determine if VR training scenarios can elicit a similar stress response as realistic scenario-based training. The study involved two phases: a scenario-based training phase and a VR training phase. Participants went through a high-fidelity scenario involving professional actors and simulated injuries. The same scenario was then recreated in VR. Salivary measures of stress were collected before and after each training phase. The results showed that VR training was able to elicit similar physiological stress responses as realistic scenario-based, or high-fidelity training. VR can be a valuable tool for law enforcement agencies and trainers to replicate real-life scenarios and ensure consistent training for all officers. However, VR should not replace in-person training entirely and should be used as a supplement. VR technology has improved significantly, and agencies should actively investigate and incorporate VR into their training programs. Takeaways Virtual reality (VR) training has the potential to bridge the gap between law enforcement training and academic research. VR training can supplement in-person training and help retain skills that may not come up in an officer's day-to-day job. Measuring heart rate alone is not a reliable indicator of stress response; other measures, such as salivary markers, can provide more accurate results. High-fidelity scenarios with professional actors can enhance the realism of training and elicit a stronger stress response. The study found that VR training was able to elicit a similar stress response as realistic scenario-based training. VR training elicited similar physiological stress responses as high-fidelity scenario-based training. VR can be a valuable tool for law enforcement agencies and trainers to replicate real-life scenarios and ensure consistent training. VR should be used as a supplement to in-person training and not as a replacement. Future research should focus on the long-term effects of VR training on skill development and retention. The technology has improved significantly, with better refresh rates and reduced motion sickness. Agencies should actively investigate and incorporate VR into their training programs.

Offense vs Arkansas State Starts at 1:00 This game was functionally over [aghhhhh] at halftime. Davis Warren throws three interceptions, two are just horrible (his arm gets hit on the other), now what. Michigan self-sabotaged on wide receiver recruiting with how they run their offense the last few years and we're seeing the consequences of that now. We still haven't seen Michigan use Donovan Edwards outside, the staff just isn't maximizing the strengths of the players. The run game feels different with Mullings in at running back. A full Orji offense would be expensive to install but do they bring him in with last year's offense now? When will the coaches listen to the blogger offenses?? It's tough to evaluate the offensive line against Arkansas State but they looked less confused this week. [The rest of the writeup and the player after THE JUMP] 2. Defense vs Arkansas State Starts at 40:02 Not much to say, Michigan dominated at the line of scrimmage which was expected. Rayshaun Benny played a great game, especially containing the quarterback. Jyaire Hill had an up and down game but broke up a slant really well, a nice bounce back after the Texas game. Martindale backed off from the funky blitzes in this game, there wasn't really anything exotic. Penalties on defense kept drives alive but this ref crew is a bit ticky tacky on penalties. 3. Hot Takes, Game Theory, and Special Teams Starts at 57:41 Takes hotter than Michigan Stadium on Saturday. Butch Jones, why are you still signaling games from the sidelines? The football gods punished Arkansas State for kicking on 4th and 1 (you should still get points off doinks). Arkansas State punter, hello. There were zero punt returns and one kick return. 4. Around the Big Ten with Jamie Mac Starts at 1:22:23 Indiana 42, UCLA 13 Congrats, Jamie. This is Indiana's biggest win against a power [4][5] since?? This was not a fluke, this was a complete beatdown. Part of this was that UCLA is not good but still, Indiana is doing a lot of good things. Indiana may never play in the Rose Bowl but they can play at the Rose Bowl! Nebraska 34, Northern Iowa 3 Nebraska scored touchdowns on their first three drives against an FCS team that has given teams fits. Northwestern 31, Eastern Illinois 7 This one was close for about a half. Northwestern just doesn't have much offense. Cheers to the weird stadium games. Michigan State 40, Prairie View A&M 0 Injuries are already starting to pile up for MSU, keep an eye on that. Minnesota 27, Nevada 0 This looks like a rock bottom version of Nevada. Illinois 30, Central Michigan 9 The score is bigger than how close this was, it may have been a hangover game for Illinois. There was a 59 yard field goal in this game! Oregon 49, Oregon State 14 Oregon got healthy in a hurry and they looked fully operational. The odds of Michigan winning a rock fight against the Ducks just went down. Purdue 7, Notre Dame 66 This was the worst loss in Purdue football history. They did average 47 yards of punting on 10 punts, though! Alabama 42, Wisconsin 10 Wisconsin loses their starting QB to injury and the backup hurt his hand. They did stick around in this game for a little bit at least. Maryland 27, Virginia 13 A nice bounce back after losing to Michigan State last week. Total yardage was fairly even but Virginia turned the ball over four times. Iowa 38, Troy 21 This was close until the very end. Iowa gives up a punt return touchdown. Iowa, if you're not punting to win, what are you doing? Folks aren't thrilled with how Cade is playing. Washington State 24, Washington 19 Wazzu's coach said they're never giving the Apple Cup trophy back! Michigan may have taken a step back but look at Washington, this does happen. MUSIC: "Kicking Back"--Mika J "Back on 74"--Jungle "Big White Cloud"--JJ Cale “Across 110th Street”—JJ Johnson and his Orchestra
Scott Martindale, chief executive officer at Sabrient Systems — which takes a quantitative approach to investments — says that some of the standard measures of inflation are skewed in ways that present an inaccurate picture of what's happening now. He discusses the "Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices" and how it, and several other measures, suggest that the Federal Reserve has plenty of room to make a larger rate cut now, and while he doesn't expect the central bank to take that drastic step, he expects that the rate-cut cycle will pick up speed after the first cut is made. Trader Edward Corona, publisher of The Options Oracle, says that the stock market that is flirting with record high levels is giving him a lot of technical opportunities to look at reversal plays, the kind that has punished Nvidia stock since a recent mediocre earnings report. Mitchel Penn, managing director of equity research at Oppenheimer and Co. looks at how business development companies are likely to perform in a falling-rate environment, and identifies a number of BDCs that historically have generated high returns on equity with low credit losses along the way. Plus, Scott Bennett, founder of Invest With Rules, brings his trend-following methodology to the Money Life Market Call.
Things Discussed: Vance Bedford (watch his breakdown) is a Michigan guy now. Texas fans haven't been good to him; Sam shares they were asking him why he's doing a Michigan show when we were down there for Houston. Defense: Bringing five shouldn't be your base. We can talk about the zero blitzes—McBurrows needs to drive not back out—but this team allows 2 yards per snap when they rush four and 8 yards per snap when they rush five. That's what they have, and need to play like it. Seth: If you're blitzing Mikey Keene you're just wasting coverage guys. Think it's the difference between Minter (a DBs guy) and Martindale (a DL/LB guy). Sam: They need to deal with RPOs because Texas has a lot of them, and the LBs were dead on play-action. Answer: do what you did last year: Drop linemen so you're impossible to read. D-Tackles? Graham was good, KG had some contain issues. Will Johnson: had to calibrate his pick six but it was coming all game. Did they stay away from Hill? No, Michigan put Johnson to the field because Fresno State throws to the side with easy reads. The bad calls: They were *really touchy about Michigan. The overturned INT when they bought a flop was one of the worst calls of the decade, kind of thing that deserves a reprimand because he made a call he did not see. Seth's answer: Now that the Big Ten has this great replay center, just have a dude with a DVR and a ref on the field with an earbud he can tell "pick that up." Offense: Have to calibrate the fans because it's an all new QB and an all new OL, and JJ McCarthy was one of the best QBs in college football, and it's going to be a big downgrade. Davis Warren: Was better than we realized. Needs help from his receivers; Tyler Morris stopped on the fly that was perfectly thrown. Sees his pre-snap reads but struggled with some post-snap reads. The interception was mostly on him, but Fred Moore needs to break that up at least—there are ways to get the cornerback wrong. Everybody's hearts sank when Orji turfed it, because that recast the battle from fall camp. Giudice: the wedge was a little on him, also Bredeson missing a block, also they can have a check to run Down G.

The former coaches cited excessive finger-pointing and a lack of accountability from Daboll. Quotes from last season's staff include: “It was like ‘Are we on the same team? It sure doesn't feel like it,'” and “We were all trying to get out of there.” Reportedly, Martindale even cursed out Daboll in his office before quitting. Things Discussed: Tony Alford: What does it say about Ohio State? Ryan Day's program might have a culture problem. If he loses to Michigan [they get to play one or two more times but] he's out, right? Seth checks OSU's schedule; somehow they got just @Oregon and vs PSU out of the Big Ten powers, so yeah, he could get to Michigan unscathed. You'd think Alford wouldn't be worried about job prospects if Day is fired; he pulled the ripcord early, which means there's something making being the RB coach under Ryan Day/Chip Kelly intolerable. Brian: Could be the offense doesn't let the RBs do their thing. Tony Alford: What does it say about Sherrone Moore? Guys wanna come work for him. Sam: They lost Adegoke because it got leaked so they kept this one quiet. Brian: That speaks to Moore's organization that they got the background checks and everything done. Seth: Taking a coach 2 practices into spring is bigger than getting their signs because by this point they have a plan, and they've already started talking about what they're doing for The Game. Sherrone: Good early signs. Had a competent assistants process, has a plan with recruiting, prevented Martindale from using up a staff spot. Making big baller moves, like how Harbaugh came in with satellite camps, etc. Losing Hart: Plenty. He was a *great* RB coach, a great judge of talent, and a great Michigan player. Seth: This exposes OSU culture issues. The Mattison comp: Matty got a title bump and $600k raise, but money can't buy the kind of Jerry Hanlon love he gave up to go to OSU, so there had to be something else. It turned out that something else was Don Brown was a Buddy Ryan, and as much as we love Brown it was a sign that Michigan needed a culture change. Quinten Johnson: not a small deal. Good NIL (more valuable to college than pros), great for Michigan, not a replacement for Sabb but does allow them to maybe start Q-Jo and try Moore at nickel, which can ameliorate the loss of Mike Sainristil, who was the QB of the defense at nickel. Wink Defense: Need to stop overplaying the differences between him and Minter, because Giants defense had more plays than any other NFL team inside their own 40, also once you have Jyaire Hill ready to go you can play a lot more man. Break: Sam mentions more guys who wanted to come work for Sherrone. Wink: You guys are doing stuff I wasn't even doing with the Giants. Brian: That's the Mikey Factor. Pernell McPhee for support staff: Pahokee guy that Rich Rod wanted, Ravens guy under Mike Macdonald who can step into LB job in the future. Lionel Stokes: Defensive analyst who worked with Morgan at Louisiana, been a DC and DB coach at Jackson State, gonna have big shoes to fill from Mallory.
This video features Dr. Robert Martindale, MD, PhD, FASPEN, Professor of Surgery in the Division of Gastrointestinal and General Surgery, and Medical Director of Hospital Nutrition Services at the Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Martindale describes his fascinating career path. While working in a lab at UCLA during the summers to earn money for forestry school, Dr. Martindale became interested in human physiology. After completing his undergraduate studies, he was invited back to UCLA to work in the nutrition department as a graduate student. Here, he earned his PhD in Nutrition. This interest in nutrition then led him to enter medical school, specializing in surgery, all while enrolled in the Army which allowed him to pay for medical school. Dr. Martindale discusses several nutrition-related topics, including specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPMs), the use of prebiotics and probiotics, food and the microbiome, managing patients with fistulas, and the overall future of nutrition. He highlights that we have the data that nutrition impacts outcomes; we need to sell it to the public. Physician Spotlight is a forum for outstanding Senior Leaders, Young Rising Stars, and International Colleagues in the field of nutrition to discuss important topics and ideas that impact patient care. Updated State of the Basketball Program and NFL Draft Stuff Starts at 1:00 We're not going to talk about basketball, but this is mostly a basketball segment. Discussing Sanderson's departure from the program from Sanderson's perspective. It's unbelievable that Juwan didn't get fired for this. Basketball standings are the Big Ten West's revenge. There's no reason to believe that Michigan will be good next year, teams that mainly use the portal have not been that great and Michigan probably won't even fill the roster. This is year five, that's on Juwan. If Juwan is retained, add it to the list of Warde Manual bag fumbles. Apparently Warde is good with speaking to people and managing non-revenue sports. Has he even had to make a hire in major sport? Sherrone Moore and Naurato were a given. Warde likes to just sit around and wait for whatever happens to happen. Even Graig Ross says this is one of the worst teams since he was in school. If Juwan gets fired it won't be until the end of the season. Do you enjoy watching the Combine? Dave does, Brian does not. The NFL draft will be fun to watch this year because there will be a lot of Michigan players getting drafted and every time they do there will be a lot of highlights of Ohio State getting dunked on. Mike Sainristil knew Washington's plays because Mike Sainristil is football smart. It was Mikey all along!! According to scouts, all of Michigan's offensive linemen are two years ahead of everyone else in terms of maturity. Cornelius Johnson tested out amazingly. He didn't get a ton of targets but he bailed out JJ a lot, and that skill set will translate to the NFL. Blake Corum changed his skill set from speed back to inside guy based on what the team needed. 2. 2024 Defensive Line and 2024 Linebackers Starts at 31:56 The defense only lost Keon Sabb to the portal, they look just as loaded this year as last year but without the ability to roll out nine defensive linemen. This should be Derrick Moore's blowup year. Josiah Stewart came on in a big way after struggling a bit the first half of the season. Is it time for TJ Guy to get some serious snaps? Will he become “TJ Dude”?? Brian's head almost explodes trying to talk about the defensive tackles. Mason Graham will be the best defensive tackle in the country and should be a 99 in NCAA 25. And then the other guy is KENNETH GRANT. Trey Pierce looked fine as a true freshman but not much you can tell about him yet. It should be the best defensive line in the country, just need 3rd string depth. Linebackers lose Barrett and Colson and is a little more up inI the air. Hausmann was a good rotational piece, Rolder looked like a player as a true freshman but was rough against Ohio State. Jaishawn Barham comes in from Maryland and is a good run stuffer. These three are the makings of a good linebacker corps. 3. Hot Takes and 2024 Secondary Starts at 54:48 Takes hotter than JJ McCarthy's draft stock. Will Johnson will be the highest graded player in NCAA 25 (unless you use The Seth Roster, then it will be Mason Graham). He'll basically be Charles Woodson. The safeties look stacked and apparently Michigan is looking to get Quinten Johnson back. Makari Paige started in 2020, Rod Moore started in 2021, they'll be fine. Once again, the biggest question mark is the second cornerback. Also for as amazing as Mike Sainristil was, we might still be underrating him because he was the glue. Whoever you insert at the second corner spot is going to be the least experienced corner on the field and they'll be replacing the most experienced corner in Josh Wallace. Will they go to the post spring roster and pick up another corner again? They'll still be one of the best defenses in America. Martindale will be a drop off because Minter was running coverages Marvin Harrison had never seen before but it shouldn't be a major drop off. Seth is Brian's Mike Hart. It's an Alex Drain-ass coaching staff (Alex if you're reading this, Brian's words. Not mine). 4. Hockey at Minnesota Starts at 1:29:36 Michigan splits with Minnesota but there's chaos on the college hockey bubble. Michigan moves up from 14th to 13 in Pairwise and Pairwise Predictor has them at 69% in. In game 2, Michigan goes up 3-0 in the first period and ends up winning in OT. Michigan's goalie looked great in the first two periods of this game but gave up 5 goals in the 3rd. When things start to go wrong, everything spirals out of control. Is this team on par for what we expected them to be this year? Kind of. Ohio State added a new offensive coordinator for the 2024 season, hiring Chip Kelly earlier this month. And when Kelly and the Buckeyes take the field for The Game against Michigan, they will do it against Michigan's new defensive coordinator Wink Martindale.Much like the Wolverines' last two defensive coordinators, Mike MacDonald and Jesse Minter, Martindale has coached the Baltimore Ravens' defense, but that doesn't mean he's a carbon copy of those two. Ross Fulton, the Xs and Os guru at BuckeyeHuddle.com joins host Tom Orr to discuss what he's expecting from Martindale's defense, what it could look like with a lot of returning talent for the Wolverines this fall, and how Martindale's influence could match up with Kelly's impact on the Buckeye offense.

In this episode, Zach Shaw and Steve Lorenz break down Michigan's decision to hire Don “Wink” Martindale as its next defensive coordinator, and what's next for him and the Wolverines. They open with an assessment of Michigan's selection of Martindale, and dole out grades for the hire. They discuss Martindale's strengths as a schematic coach, flush with high-level experience, and the continuity he can bring to a Michigan defense that thrived under two of Martindale's mentees over the last three seasons. They also look at question marks the follow the hire, including Martindale's potential shortcoming in recruiting, curiosity about how he'll coach younger, less knowledgable players and how he'll handle an effective demotion by returning to the college game. They continue the discussion by zooming out, and looking at what Michigan should prioritize as it fills out the rest of its defensive coaching staff, and how big of a concern player retention is on the defensive side of the ball right now.
