Nowata Methodists a body of believers belonging to the United Methodist Church in the Oklahoma Annual Conference. We are located in downtown Nowata, Oklahoma, where we seek to engage our community through a variety of ministries to reach outside our doors, by worshipping together, and by teaching adults and children how to talk about their faith.

Ordinary season is upon us, this means we are going to be making our way through a whole book of the Bible. This week starts the season of Lent. Our readings this week were from Genesis 9, Psalm 25, 1st Peter 3, & Mark 1. The theme throughout deals with the waters of the flood vs the waters of baptism.
This week we start and finished the letter to Philemon. A short one chapter epistle of Paul that was sent to the leader of a house church in Colossae concerning the runaway slave Onesimus. Join us as we study the history and modern implications of this letter.

Vices & Virtues; This week we reach chapter 3 of Colossians, in this chapter we find a list of virtues and vices that Paul encourages us to uphold and put to death.
This week we continued our series in the Epistle to the Colossians with chapter 2. We go over the concept of a heavenly council that is addressed and the worship on angels that was happening in the church at Colossae.

In chapter 3 of the Book of Jonah we find that the prophet has made his way to Nineveh, just as God commanded him to do, but what the King and the city then do is surprising. Join us as we discover what happens in chapter 3.
This week we dive into chapter 2 of the Book of Jonah. Last week we left off with Jonah being tossed overboard by the crew of the ship in an attempt to calm the sea. What happened to Jonah after this? Did he die? What was his prayer to God? And what other things happen in the second chapter of this book?
This week we start off in the first chapter of the Book of Jonah. Most people remember the story from children's church but let's take a look at it with the eyes of an adult. In this podcast we cover the entire first chapter of the book from its place in history, to its connection to the New Testament.
The final part of our series in book of 1st Corinthians. In this section we deal with the bodily resurrection, the nature of the church & christian faith, and wrapping up the this letter to the Corinthian Church.

Nowata local, Dane Warner, owner of Warner Audio Video Consulting & Design, came to talk about the new movie that End of the Road Productions is premiering this Saturday. He talks about the historical story, lessons for today around racial tension and mental illness, the nature of faith and his hopes for how the story will be received. The Nowata community will surely be interested to learn tidbits of historical fact that he drops, correcting many false rumors over the years. Viewers and listeners will also be interested to learn about all the ways in which the Nowata community has been involved in the production of this venture, and the ways that this could potentially benefit our community into the future.
