Are you building your life on a personal resume of accolades, or are you ready to trade it all in for something that actually lasts? This week on Off Script, Neil and Scott dive into Philippians Chapter 3 to explore what it truly means to count everything as loss compared to the ultimate prize of knowing Jesus Christ. The guys talk about how easy it is to treat our credentials, whether it's church heritage, hard work, or worldly success, as a security blanket, and how Paul radically redefines all of it as skubalon. This conversation challenges us to draw a line in the sand, throw away our self-made resumes, and firmly anchor our identity in Christ alone. The Challenge This week, take a hard look at where you are placing your daily confidence. When you feel tempted to cross the line back into earning God's favor or leveraging your status over others, consciously choose to drop that resume in the trash, stand firm, and take offensive action in your faith. Hosts: Neil Gregory and Scott Nickell What We Discuss Scott's behind-the-scenes mishap of accidentally cutting an entire page of notes and a cue quote during the first service How Paul's mindset in Acts 20 of facing imprisonment and afflictions heavily influenced Scott's journey back to Southland Reflecting on Jim Elliot's missionary legacy and Edmund Clowney's quote about the church being composed of "losers" for Christ The rich young ruler and the parable of the man building bigger barns to store up temporary worldly wealth A moment of vulnerability regarding entitlements, taking shots from critics, and the danger of treating knowledge as wisdom Scott's blunt interaction with a churchgoer right before service and why tolerating lies is not a Christian virtue The cultural prescriptions of the "Bible Belt"—from perfect attendance to Church badges—versus actual heart transformation Unpacking the extreme Greek word skubalon and why Paul used the equivalent of a cuss word to describe his credentials Navigating the ditch of legalism on one side and "grace abusers" (antinomianism) on the other What it practically means to "stand firm" using wrestling terminology and taking offensive action in your marriage, parenting, and career About Southland Christian Church Southland is one church meeting in multiple locations across central Kentucky. We believe Jesus came for the lost and the broken, which means there's a place for everyone here. Around here, that means we worship defiantly, speak truth unashamedly, and extend grace generously. Are you trying to find fulfillment by filling yourself up, or are you ready to experience the deep joy that only comes from pouring yourself out? This week on Off Script, Neil and Scott dive into Philippians Chapter 2 to explore the radical humility of Jesus and what it practically looks like to live a life of emptying ourselves for others. The guys break down the stark contrast between a "stagnant lake" that stores up blessings and a flowing stream that continually pours out, pointing to Jesus as the ultimate example of self-emptying love. They also dive into the historical reality of Paul and Silas singing hymns in a midnight dungeon, challenging us to step out of our physical and spiritual comfort zones to "sing through the suffering." The Challenge This week, look for an intentional pathway to empty yourself on behalf of someone else. Ask yourself three specific questions: Who did I serve today? What did I give away? and Whose burden did I bear? When the Holy Spirit presents a clear opportunity to step outside of your comfort zone and serve, make the choice to say yes instead of looking inward. Hosts: Neil Gregory and Scott Nickell What We Discuss The balance of pastoral health: establishing thresholds for preaching and demonstrating the necessity of rest Shifting from a "stagnant lake" mentality to becoming a flowing, overflowing stream that pours out to others How trying to constantly fill and satisfy ourselves blocks us from experiencing true biblical joy The historical background of Philippians 2 and the missing context of Epaphroditus falling deathly ill A vivid look at Acts 16: the brutal reality of Paul and Silas being beaten with rods and thrown into prison stocks Why singing through suffering destroys the leverage of the enemy and serves as a powerful witness to others Overcoming pride in worship and how changing our physical posture can unlock something deep within us spiritually Capturing the powerful moment of bowing our heads to acknowledge being small instruments in God's hands About Southland Christian Church Southland is one church meeting in multiple locations across central Kentucky. Pentecost Sunday. Memorial Weekend. A church filled with gratitude, expectancy, and JOY. In this powerful and deeply practical message from Philippians 4, Pastor Bailey Bryant unpacks Heaven's blueprint for living with joy, peace, strength, and purpose in a world filled with anxiety, distraction, and pressure. What if rejoicing is more than an emotion? What if peace is actually possible? What if the key to strength isn't striving harder… but living in the presence of God? From "Don't worry about anything—pray about everything" to "I can do all things through Christ," this message dives into some of the most quoted verses in the Bible and reveals the life-changing truths we often overlook. You'll discover: • Why people are meant to be people's joy • The connection between rejoicing and overcoming anxiety • How thanksgiving keeps worry from sticking to your soul • A practical formula for walking in God's peace • Why what fills your mind eventually shapes your life • The true meaning of "I can do all things through Christ" • How the joy of the Lord becomes your strength This isn't just a sermon—it's an invitation to reset your perspective, renew your mind, and reconnect with the Holy Spirit. "The same Holy Spirit who penned this letter with Paul is still moving across the earth today." If you've been weary, distracted, anxious, or spiritually dry, this message will remind you that God's presence still brings fullness of joy… and His peace still guards hearts today. Listen now and be encouraged to choose joy, pray boldly, think differently, and live strengthened through Christ.

In Philippians chapter 3, Pastor Bailey takes us straight into the tension of Paul's words: "Whatever happens… REJOICE." Not from a place of comfort—but from a prison cell. After beatings, shipwrecks, betrayal, and relentless persecution, Paul still commands joy. Not suggests it—commands it. This message hits different. With raw honesty and powerful storytelling, Pastor Bailey walks through Paul's résumé of suffering… and then flips it. Everything Paul once trusted—his status, his obedience, his religious pedigree—he now calls garbage compared to one thing: knowing Jesus. Not knowing about Him. Knowing Him. This is a call to move from head knowledge to real intimacy. From striving in the flesh to surrendering in faith. From distraction to focus. And then it shifts… Pastor Bailey paints a vivid picture of "Coach Paul"—repeating the game plan, calling us higher, refusing to let us stay stuck. Rejoice. Know Him. Lock in. No excuses. No shortcuts. No more living off your own strength. This episode will challenge you, wake you up, and remind you what really matters. If you've been coasting… distracted… or trying to earn what's already been finished—this is your moment. It's time to get coachable. It's time to press on. It's time to lock in.
On a scale of 1-10, how happy are you? Most people spend their lives chasing happiness—thinking the next purchase, promotion, relationship, or breakthrough will finally bring lasting joy. In this message, as we continue studying Philippians Chapter 4, we'll look at one of the most quoted verses in the Bible and discover what Paul really meant when he said, "I can do everything through him who gives me strength." Happiness, joy, and contentment aren't found in perfect circumstances. They are found in the strength of Christ.
Are you ready to rethink everything you thought you knew about joy? This Sunday, we kick off our brand new journey through the book of Philippians—and this isn't just another series… it's an invitation. An invitation to go deeper, grow stronger, and encounter the Holy Spirit in a fresh, personal way. What if joy isn't tied to your circumstances… but to a Person? The Apostle Paul writes this letter from prison—chained, uncertain, possibly facing death. And yet, over and over again, he says one thing: Rejoice. How does a man in chains live with that kind of joy? In this message, we set the stage for Philippians and uncover: • Why the church in Philippi was born in pressure, not comfort • The deep, personal love between Paul and this church • How suffering can actually advance the Gospel • What it means to have joy in BOTH life and death • And how to live as citizens of heaven in a world full of division This isn't surface-level Christianity. This is a call to: Think differently. Suffer differently. Live differently. And most importantly… experience joy differently. Because joy isn't found in ease—it's found in Jesus. If you've ever struggled with pressure, division, discouragement, or just feeling stuck in your faith… this message will challenge you, stretch you, and ignite something deeper inside of you. Let's be a people who rejoice when Christ is preached. Let's be a people who find joy in the mission. Let's be a people who live like heaven is our home. It's time to make heaven crowded. Press play—and let the Holy Spirit unlock a new level of joy in your life.
Kings are often greeted by pomp and circumstance. However Jesus did not enter jerusalem by the main gate, he came in via backroads sitting on a donkey rather than a war horse humbled, not triumphant. The celebration of kingship is often evinced by an annointing. Messiah translates into Christ in English and contain the idea of being anointed. Even though Jesus anointing , crowning and assuming his throne was different than his followers expected. His anointing gives us the hope that Christ's anointing heals us as a people. Together we follow a God towards love, hope and peace. This message is brought to us by Pastor Sarah. The Gospel lesson is from Matthew Chapter 21, Verses 1 - 11. The Scripture lesson comes from Philippians Chapter verses 5 - 11.

INTRO: This week's Bible Lesson turns from the focus on Paul's suffering in prison for preaching the gospel of Jesus to reasons Paul gives for thanksgiving and prayer despite such challenges which are also facing Philippian and Colossian believers. Note this emphasis in the suggested Memory Verse for this week's lesson from Philippians Chapter 1, verse 6, “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Q: When Paul reminds his readers of the “good work” God has begun in them, to what work ...

God wants all His children to get along. Today Joyce shares insights from Philippians Chapter 2 about the importance of peace and unity.
