The Monroe Bearcat boys got a win and we hear from head coach Justin Prohn and players Dominic Castillo, Caleb Campbell and Wyatt Prohn. We then hear from the Stanwood Spartans girls with head coach Dustin Swanson and players Georgia Lenz, Ellalee Wortham, Presley Harris, Stella Berrett and Dorothy Berrett. We wrap-up with a pair of head coaches: Seth Dodge of the Lake Stevens Viking girls and Anthony Wiederkehr of the Lakewood boys.

The Wesco 3A Boys South Division title is on the line as the Shorewood Thunderbirds travel to meet the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors; Wednesday, February 4, 2026; Tom Lafferty and former Arlington coach Nick Brown have the call. KRKO Marysville Toyota Player of the Game was Warriors forward William Alseth who led all scorers with 14 points. Edmonds-Woodway defeats Shorewood 55-48 and heads to the league cross-over game as the #1 seed from the south division.

We head into the final week of the high school basketball regular season, and three teams that are playoff-bound, it's Prep Sports Weekly for Monday, February 2, 2026. But we start with Hall of Fame Night at Snohomish High School and newest inductee Jon Brockman (going into his 4th HOF). The Snohomish Girls Basketball team is heading into the post-season, we talk with head coach Ken Roberts and players Sienna Capelli and Kendall Hammer. The Snohomish Boys have punched their playoff ticket, we meet head coach Jeff Larson and players Grady Rohrich, Luke Davis and Hudson Smith. Finally, the Edmonds-Woodway girls with head coach Quinn Manning and players Zaniyah Jones and Finley Wichers.

KRKO Marysville Toyota Player of the Game was sophomore forward Henry Selders who had 14 points; the Seagulls defeated the Chargers 79-36.NOTE: It was also "Pink Out" Night at The Pit. The Everett High School Community honored boys assistant coach Shawn Madigan and his wife Jordan, who is currently battling breast cancer. Right in the middle of basketball season, we celebrate football on Prep Sports Weekly for Monday, January 26, 2026. We start with a "throwback" interview with Big Abe Lucas of the Super Bowl-bound Seattle Seahawks; although when we talked with him he was playing for the Washington State Cougars, after coming out of Archbishop Murphy High School. Then, we talk Girls Flag Football with the brand new Everett Seagulls team: Avery Hammer, Katelyn Chaussee, Amiya Tolstedt, Anna Luscher and assistant coach Tony Young. We also catch-up with Everett High School Principal Kelly Shepherd.

High School Basketball Wesco 4A/Wesco 3A Cross-Over Girls game broadcast. Snohomish Panthers at Jackson Timberwolves; Thursday, January 22, 2026; Tom Lafferty and Alex Clausius on the call. KRKO Marysville Toyota Player of the Game: Snohomish Senior guard Sienna Capelli, scored 20 points to lead the Panthers to a 55-38 win. It was the Panthers 8th straight win.

Prep Sports Weekly for Monday, January 19, 2026. We hear from the Meadowdale Mavericks boys wrestling team with head coach Josh Knowles and wrestlers Jamier Perry, Chris Ramirez, Jaxson Hulbert, Logan Palmer and John Juarez. The Vikings advance to the 4A Semi-Finals and will host the Graham-Kapowsin Eagles on Saturday, November 29th.HISTORIC FOOTNOTE: During the game, Moses Lake quarterback Brady Jay (Monana commit), tied and surpassed the previous state record for single-season touchdown passes. First up, the Archbishop Murphy Wildcats (2A) with players Jack Sievers, Henry Gabalis, Hakeim Smalls and head coach Joe Cronin. Then, the Glacier Peak Grizzlies with players Luke Fullerton, Isaiah Owens and head coach Shane Keck; followed by the Lake Stevens Vikings with players Brayden Slezak, Kenny Buckmiller, Dylan Phinney, Kaiden Peck and defensive coordinator Eric Dinwiddie. Coach Arnie Moreno along with players Eli Sheffield, Riley Boyd, Drew Johnson, Zack Binz and Xander Gordon (who was also named our Russell & Hill Athlete of the Month for September 2025). Then talk to three of the playoff-bound Wesco football coaches Ivan McLeannan (who is joined by the winning-touchdown-scoring RB Noah Linde). Also Archie Malloy of the Mountlake Terrace Hawks and Shane Keck of the Glacier Peak Grizzlies.

Cobb was previously the starting quarterback for Snohomish, but when the decision was made to start freshman quarterback Nate Kendall, Cobb switched to wide receiver and the Panthers have won two straight and are headed to the Wesco Seeding Games.

Then it's a trio of head football coaches that all notched wins this past week: Ivan McLeannan of the Kamiak Knights; Scott Darrow of the Monroe Bearcats and Eric Solbakken of the Snohomish Panthers.

We'll be back with two more shows, celebrating the Snohomish County accomplishments at the Spring Sports Championships.Three basketball teams that all placed at this year's state tournament visit Prep Sports Weekly for Monday, March 10, 2025. We start with the 4A Boys third place team, the Glacier Peak Grizzlies with head coach Brian Hunter and players Josiah Lee, Zachary Albright and Reed Nagel. Then it's the Glacier Peak girls team with head coach Brian Hill and players Brynna Pukis, Rikki Miller and Samantha Thoma. Finally it's the King's Knights girls team with head Dan Taylor and players Kaleo Anderson, Kaitlin Cramer and Adeline Cox. 

A Memorial Day Edition of Prep Sports Weekly on Monday, May 26, 2025. We start with the former Athletic Director at Snohomish High School Mark Perry, he tells us about the First Annual Panther Run, raising funds for athletic scholarships at SHS. Then we review and preview spring sports championships involving our local Wesco teams; first, with Shorewood Stormrays head boys soccer coach Shaun Warner; then with Jackson head baseball coach Joe Fleury along with two-sport athlete Ashton Bergman with his dad, Mark Bergman.
