The 2025 NFL season is 17 weeks old and with the playoffs right around the corner, a few playoff seedings and spots are still up for grabs. The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Chicago Bears in an offensive shootout to keep their hopes of the NFC's #1 seed alive. Brock Purdy and Caleb Williams traded punches throughout Sunday evening until the 49ers defense stood tall. The Sam Darnold and the Seattle Seahawks knocked off the Carolina Panthers, setting up a week 18 matchup that'll determine the winner of the NFC South. The Philadelphia Eagles held off the Buffalo Bills comeback attempt. Jalen Hurts commanded the first half and Josh Allen owned the second half but it was the Eagles defense that dominated the entire game, allowing the Eagles to stay alive in the race for the NFC's 2nd seed. The Steelers fell to the Browns, the Ravens knocked off the Packers and the Texans defeated the Chargers to all set up wild Wk18 playoff implications. Hosts Brad Fowler and Alex Higdon break down the biggest NFL Week reactions, playoff implications, and College Football Playoff quarterfinal previews as the postseason picture comes into focus. We discuss Eagles vs Bills, Josh Allen’s near-heroics, Philadelphia’s recurring second-half offensive issues, and why Buffalo still can’t be trusted in the playoffs. Plus Seahawks vs Panthers, Seattle’s talent edge and turnover concerns with Sam Darnold, and whether either team can make real postseason noise. We also dive into Patriots vs Jets, Drake Maye’s MVP-level performance, and whether New England is being seriously undervalued. We break down Ravens vs Packers with a debate on Malik Willis’ development and starter potential, followed by Texans vs Chargers, Justin Herbert’s impressive performance under constant pressure, Houston’s elite defense, and how far the Texans can go in a wide-open AFC. We recap what may have been the best NFL game of the year: Bears vs 49ers — elite quarterback play from Caleb Williams and Brock Purdy, creative coaching, massive performances from Christian McCaffrey, and what it means for Chicago heading into the playoffs. In College Football, we preview and make picks for the CFP quarterfinals, including Oregon vs Texas Tech, Alabama vs Indiana, Georgia vs Ole Miss, and Ohio State vs Miami. We also react to Michigan hiring Kyle Whittingham and why it could be a program-changing move.

Mike Evans and Brandon Stokley kick off today’s show with their instant reactions to the Nikola Jokic injury. They move onto lighter news like the Avs’ blowout win over the Kings and the Broncos’ AFC West championship swag. They consult an internet doctor before they discuss the Chargers’ starters resting for Week 18. Will the Broncos play like they did last year or last week? Mike has a good gut feeling about Jokic’s injury but can the Nuggets survive without him for any period? They confront Sean Payton for speaking out both sides of his mouth about the pass rush. Mike and Stoke are joined by our 9News Broncos Insider, Mike Klis, to get his take on the defensive deficiencies and how he thinks the Broncos will come out against the Chargers.
In hour 3 of The Drive, Zach and Phil are joined by veteran NFL reporter James Palmer to discuss the Chargers sitting and resting a handful of players in their week 18 matchup with the Broncos, if we will see the Broncos win with style points on Sunday, and how much tougher road the Broncos will have next year with a first place schedule. We look back at many of the quarterbacks the Broncos have faced this season and debate if the lesser talent they've faced is reason for concern when it comes to the playoffs? We react to the injury update on Nikola Jokic and his knee being re-evaluated in four weeks. Zach explains why "sky is not falling" and how he doesn't have high expectations for January but they will still be in the playoff picture. How will the Nuggets re-learn how to play basketball without the three-time MVP? What should the Nuggets record be during Jokic's absence?
In the final show of the year, there's only one hour to describe how awesome of a game yesterday and a season Drake Maye has been having. What level of success can Maye be capped at and should we be more serious about his MVP chances. Then, the AFC East is clinched and now the Patriots will look towards the number one seed. However, the Chargers are sitting their starters who could pull the upset against the Broncos. And, there shouldn't be any doubt about what the Pats have to play for in their regular season finale against the Dolphins this Sunday.
On this episode of the JT Sports Podcast, JT gives the honest truth about Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders and why the public evaluation of both quarterbacks is missing key context. JT explains why Cam Ward is playing far better than the box score shows, how Cam Ward is being held back by one of the worst situations in the NFL, and why Cam Ward could explode with competent coaching. JT also breaks down why Shedeur Sanders has a clear ceiling, why Shedeur Sanders can win in the right environment, and why Shedeur Sanders was never built to save a dysfunctional franchise like Cleveland. The episode also dives into NFL playoff contenders, the Chargers' limitations, the Texans' defensive dominance, and why Josh Allen's trust issues with the Buffalo Bills are real.
After a brief intro covering Stefon Diggs facing charges of felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault, The Boston Sports Journal's Mike Giardi joins Andrew to break down the Patriots' potential matchups versus the Chargers, Bills and Texans in the Wild Card round. 0:00 - Last night, Nikola Jokic left the game with an apparent knee injury he suffered in the 2nd quarter. Hopefully, it's nothing structural and he just suffered a bone bruise. We won't know anything until Joker undergoes a full evaluation with an MRI. As we await the results...we imagine/try not to imagine a world without Jokic on the court.16:35 - Yesterday, Jim Harbaugh announced that he will rest Justin Herbert and other starters TBD vs the Broncos on Sunday. The AFC #1 seed is now on a SILVER PLATTER for Denver. All they have to do is beat the JV San Diego Superchargers of Los Angeles AT HOME, and the crown is theirs.34:09 - The Avs grinded out another grimy win vs the LA Kings last night. They're continuing to prove they can win all sorts of games, including gross ones where they power past mistakes. Speaking of power past mistakes, Bednar said he's concerned with the lack of production on the power play.
0:00 - We're crossing our fingers, toes, tongue, anything that's crossable and hoping for good news regarding Nikola Jokic's injury he suffered last night. He definitely hurt his knee, but no word yet if there's any structural damage. No matter what, Jokic will miss some time. How will the already depleted Nuggets make due without him?15:30 - Now that the Chargers are resting starters vs the Broncos on Sunday, including Justin Herbert, you HAVE to lock up that AFC 1 seed. But here's an interesting question...if the Broncos get the 1 seed, have a first round bye, then lose their divisional round game...are you okay with that? They didn't win a playoff game, but they did technically make it past the first round. 33:58 - The NFL released their list of finalists for the 2026 Hall of Fame class. As always, we agree with some of them, disagree with others, and aren't sure about some as well.

00:00 Berto, Spring and Sanford are in this hour talking Broncos and the Chargers resting their starters.
This episode dives into one of the most fun and chaotic questions of the NFL season: which franchise would be the strangest to become the next dynasty? The guys debate unlikely dynasty candidates like the Jaguars, Browns, Titans, Falcons, and Chargers, breaking down franchise history, ownership instability, fan bases, and why sustained dominance from these teams would feel completely surreal. From there, the conversation shifts into a full NFL playoff contender analysis, examining which teams are actually built for January football. The Rams get serious love as a dangerous NFC team thanks to coaching, play calling, and quarterback play, even with some puzzling losses on their resume. The Bears' playoff outlook sparks debate as the group discusses their ability to win ugly games and why they could be a nightmare first round matchup despite skepticism about their overall ceiling. The NFC West gets a full breakdown as the Seahawks, 49ers, and Rams jockey for position. Defensive strength, star power, and quarterback consistency are all debated, with disagreement over which team has true Super Bowl potential versus which needs everything to break perfectly. The discussion expands to the broader playoff field, including the Bills' championship ceiling, the Jaguars being a legitimate contender despite low national expectations, and the Cowboys being labeled as entertaining but unreliable. The Texans emerge as a true wild card thanks to their defense and improving quarterback play, while concerns mount around teams like the Saints and their long term quarterback plan. The episode wraps with early NFL playoff predictions, division title picks, and speculative trade conversations involving young quarterbacks. With no clear dominant team this season, the group agrees the NFL is as wide open as it has been in years and sets the stage for a full playoff bracket breakdown next episode. If you love NFL playoff debates, Super Bowl contenders, dynasty hypotheticals, power rankings, and bold predictions, this episode is packed with arguments, laughs, and big picture takes you won't hear anywhere else.
