Is there a way to check our spiritual vital signs? In this message, Pastor Chris explores how Acts 2 gives us some really practical disciplines that lead to a healthy heart and a healthy church.
In the Old Testament book of Exodus, we see where that phrase "Are We There Yet?" originated. It's a great question. Maybe it's a question you are even asking, when you think about where your life is heading? In this message, Pastor Chris points out that God sometimes leads us on some 'round about ways' in life. But God can be trusted no matter what our circumstances look like.
Pastor Matt Dawson (from Journey Church) brings us a message of hope about the seasons of life.
Is it even possible to go one day without complaining? What's our motivation for eliminating complaining from our daily habit? Why do we complain? Pastor Chris opens up Scripture to listen to what God has to say to us about complaining
With billions of people in the world, somebody should think of a system where nobody is lonely, and somebody did, and his name was Jesus, and the cost was a cross, and the place is a church, and the secret is love.
As long as the outside world sees the church as a Baby Pool, where a bunch of us keep playing in shallow water, thinking we are doing something significant with our lives or significant in this world, THEY WON'T FOLLOW JESUS. In this message, Pastor Chris revists Ezekiel 47:1-9 and challenges us to take one step into deeper waters with Jesus.
Ready. Set. Jump! Pastor Chris has launched our House into a series inviting you to Take The Plunge. Jesus Christ calls us to leave the shallow end and TAKE THE PLUNGE into deep rushing waters that wash away everything we hold onto that is not Jesus Christ.
Ephesans 4:1-16 was our text. The Apostle Paul said that we are to live in a manner that is worthy of the Love and Sacrifice that Jesus gave on our behalf. So what does living like that look like? According to Paul, a big part of it is that we "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Making every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace." I know it's hard to believe, but PEOPLE HAVE A HARD TIME GETTING ALONG WITH EACH OTHER. Conflict happens, even in the family of God (the church) and I can't really love God until I start loving THAT person. Pastor Chris gave us some very practical tools that can help us navigate conflict among each other, in marriages, as parents, etc. Conflict can be good, if the goal is redemption. The phrase we used, comes out of verse 15 "I am going to speak the truth in love so that we grow to be more like Jesus Christ."
John, his wife Janie and their 3 kids moved to Israel to live where Jesus lived, lead tours and get schooling. John was kind enough to engage us in a conversation about God's Word from the context of its historical, cultural, geographical and language setting. And in that context, Scripture passages that we've all heard, took on new life. Luke 1:37 says "For no Word from God will ever fail"
How do we get enthusiastic about our Worship that leaves a mark on us? Pastor Brennon reminds us that all moments are not created equally. Don't miss those moments.
Why does God deserve our praise? Pastor Chris walks us through Ephesias 1 to fire us up about worshiping God with our whole life. EPHESIANS 1:3-8 says... "All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him.
Can our worship leave a mark that is bigger than your worries? Our Worship/Family Pastor, Brennon, leads us on a journey that explores some facits of our worship that puts our life into perspective. The sermon starts in Ephesians 3:10.
Imagine that between Sunday gatherings for corporate worship, that YOU privately pay attention to the Living God in such a way that you become genuinely convinced that there is no end to God's goodness, strengthm wisdom, comfort, grace, joy and love. Your whole life would become a worship service.
Indelible means: making marks that cannot be removed or forgotten. You were created to worship God. So what is worship? What kind of mark has worship left on you? We had some audio issues, so the message may sound a little different that you are used to. Don't let that prevent you from hearing the truth behind the message.
Jesus gives the world a criteria by which to judge is we are HIs one not. The criteria is simple. That we are a people who love ONE ANOTHER and as we love the family, it radiates out to everybody, EVEN OUR ENEMIES. God is building a FAMILY and true Christianity always expresses itself in unity. The key to unity is HUMILITY.
There are three friendships you need and you may be one of those friendships away from changing the trajectory of your life. Do you have these kind of friendships?
Christian Community is a GOOD thing, a GOD thing and...it can be hard to find. What do we do when one of our vulnerable questions is something like this: "Who is going to be my friend?"
I lost my job We miscarried I’ve got cancer She broke up with me My dad just died suddenly We can’t get pregnant She wants a divorce We filed for bankruptcy These crisis moments can lead to ISOLATION or they can lead to instant BONDING, and a Christian Fellowship that gets discovered, in the middle of those deep down dark places of life.
IMAGINE…Some day, ACTS 29 will be opened up and all of creation leans in as it is read out loud, and it comes to that page with your name in it. WHAT DO YOU WANT IT TO SAY? What do you want written next to your name? What do we want written on the page about Radiant Life?
PATIENCE IS PRIMARILY THE ABILITY TO DELAY GRATIFICATION TO ENDURE PAIN FOR A WORTHY CAUSE So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. (Galatians 6:9)
The Holy Spirit always leads us toward being a person who is characterized by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control.
Most of us have to learn to recognize God's voice and His guidance in our lives. The Holy Spirit always moves us closer towards living as Jesus would if He were in our place. The Holy Spirit never huides us in a way that violates the plain teaching of Scripture.
Th Holy Spirit ALWAYS moves you toward the Family of God. True Spirituality works itself out in COMMUNITY and God’s Family is a COMMUNITY OF DIVERSITY. The Holy Spirit brings unity our of our diversity. We only need one thing in common...Jesus as our Savior/Lord.
We continue our sermon series through the book of Acts. We have to RE-ALIGN our vision with the vision of Scripture that talks about EVERYBODY being an active part of the SERVING community. YOU HAVE BEEN GIFTED BY GOD TO SERVE HERE IN A WAY THAT BUILDS THIS CHURCH UP TO ACCOMPLISH THE MISSION GOD GAVE US. If you are a Christian, you are a Priest. You have direct access to God You are responsible for each other You represent Jesus to the world We desperately need you to get in the game and do your job (as a Priest) because you matter
Pastor Chris continues our series through the Bible book of Acts. We start with highlighting the convicting ministry of the Holy Spirit in our lives. JOHN 16 “But now I am going away to the one who sent me, and not one of you is asking where I am going. Instead, you grieve because of what I’ve told you. But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment. The world’s sin is that it refuses to believe in me. Righteousness is available because I go to the Father, and you will see me no more. Judgment will come because the ruler of this world has already been judged.
Acts 4:20 "We cannot stop telling about everything we have seen and heard.”
Acts 2 features the power that happens when the people of that early church were filled with the Holy Spirit. Here's what it looked like... "All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved."
