This message is from our "Suffer Well" series.Suffering is a natural consequence of surrender. As we surrender in greater ways to the Lordship of Jesus, we should expect persecution and difficulty, especially as we find ourselves living in a negative world. 1 Peter encourages believers to persevere faithfully in light of their present hope and future salvation. Marriage requires a different kind of love for one another.
In this passage, Paul gives some of the most detailed instructions about how marriage is meant to work in relationship to the gospel in all of Scripture.
Rewind: Originally recorded in September 2023 This discussion explores God's desire for both husbands and wives to enjoy sex. Topics include oral sex, masturbation, differing sex drives, and what helps wives reach orgasm. Emphasis is placed on learning how to please your spouse, fostering open communication about sex within the church, and addressing key aspects like mindset, expectations, and compassion in marriage. The conversation also covers physical changes during pregnancy, postpartum adjustments, and alternative methods of intimacy, encouraging mutual exploration and open dialogue to enhance connection. It highlights the intersection of sexuality and spirituality, focusing on addressing underlying issues over imposing rules. The importance of counseling, particularly in addressing sexual trauma, is stressed, along with advice for husbands to express frustrations gently and support their wives. Whether this is your first time hearing this message or you're revisiting it, listen with an open heart and deepen your understanding of this vital topic. What does the Apostle Paul have to teach us about the responsibilities husbands and wives have to one another? Pastor Kirk teaches us in this important sermon.visit us at: conejochurch.com
In this powerful message, we're challenged to reconsider God's design for marriage in a world that often rebels against it. The central scripture, 1 Peter 3:1-7, presents a counter-cultural view of wives submitting to their husbands. But far from oppressing women, this teaching emphasizes equal worth and different roles within marriage. We're reminded that both spouses are 'heirs of the grace of life.' The message draws fascinating parallels between the changing times of Wyatt Earp and our need to adapt while holding firm to biblical truths. As we reflect on our culture's struggles with marriage and family, we're invited to consider whether God's plan might actually be the key to thriving relationships and stronger families. This isn't about power struggles, but about partners working together to reflect God's glory and pass it on to future generations. Recent polls suggest that American men and women are more divided over the 2024 election than they were in 2016, when Donald Trump ran against Hillary Clinton. As we see in Colossians 3:18-19 and Ephesians 5:22-33, God calls husbands and wives to different roles in marriage, because these roles will give the world a beautiful picture of Christ's love for the church.
The love of Christ for the church, for you and me, is permanent, perpetual, unchanging and unconditional.

Manhattan Murder Mystery is the 22nd film written and directed by Woody Allen, first released in 1993. Woody Allen and Diane Keaton stars as Larry and Carol Lipton, a couple that live in a New York apartment building, across from an elderly couple. One night, one of the elderly neighbours die from a heart attack. Nothing seems strange, but Carol begins to suspect something – and she can't let it go despite the doubt from her friends and husband. After a period of drama – both on screen and off – Allen returns to something that is brightly comedic with Manhattan Murder Mystery. It's a much needed breath of fresh air, compared to his previous film, Husbands And Wives. And in a crowd pleasing move, it reunited Allen with Diane Keaton. Welcome to the Woody Allen Pages podcast. This week, we look at 1993's Manhattan Murder Mystery. How it was conceived, how it was made, and how it was a bit of a laugh. Spoilers are everywhere – so watch the film and then come back. Marriage is an imperfect picture of Christ and His Church. Wives are to respect and encourage their husbands and husbands are to love and build up their wives. The woman does it imperfectly as the church does it imperfectly. And the husband has no chance compared to the perfect love of Jesus Christ.
