I know you think it's your responsibility to always be the strong friend, to be the person that everyone goes to, and to always feel okay. But guess what? It's not!I am challenging that notion you have in your head that believes you have to be strong 100% of time. Because, let's face it: We all need help at some point in our lives. We were not made to live a life alone, and to always carry such a heavy load. There's so much power in being vulnerable and asking for help. Whether you are asking God for help, going to therapy, or reaching out to family or friends..... IT IS OKAY TO NEED HELP. I went though a tough season alone, and it left me depressed, exhausted, and in a dark space. Looking back, I wish I would have asked for help sooner. I am so grateful for God for challenging that notion in my head 'that asking for help is weak' because that notion is false!I want to encourage you all to reach out to someone when your load gets heavy. You cannot fight this battle alone. That's why God created things and people to help you along the way. Even the most incredibly strongest person needs help, believe it or not.I hope you all have a great week.Reach out if you need help.Be vulnerable.I love you all.As always, take care. ✨
Let's face it: We all have been through some type of ordeal, unfortunate situation, or have stumbled upon an obstacle or two. It's inevitable. It's life. My therapist told me it's not about what you've been through (or are currently going through) but how you respond to the situation. Join me as I discuss how I got through one of the darkest moments of my life, and how I overcame depression, self-pity, and self-doubt. I love you all, and I praying for your spiritual wellness.
Have you ever sat with yourself for five minutes and did absolutely nothing? Ever dedicated a day to rest? If you answered NO to any of these questions, guess what? You are not alone. Society has us thinking we need to be hyper-productive and on-the-go 24/7 and I'm here to tell you... THAT'S NOT IT! The other day, I challenged myself to honor my body and do absolutely nothing. In doing that, I learned to live in the moment and enjoy the simple joys of life. I watched movies, cooked dinner, and had a glass of wine, and guess what? I don't feel guilty about it!Inspired by the film Eat Pray Love, I decided that I didn't have to go to Italy to experience paradise. Paradise is in our minds. We create the world we want to live in. This film really opened my eyes, and humbled me in a way. I was able to put so much in perspective, and learn to enjoy the simple things in life.In today's episode, I simply just discuss the Simple Art of Doing Nothing.Like seriously, take some time for yourself.Take a bathRestGo take a walkDanceCookJournalTake a bathBinge watch your favorite TV seriesWatch movies and eat pizza until your jaws burst!Do whatever it is that makes you happy.I love you all.Honor your bodies.Find time to relax and unwind.Do nothing. As always, Take care. ✨
Do you struggle with overthinking? Procrastination? Or fear of failing?I've been there. We all have been there. But it is ultimately our choice to decide if we want to stay there. I want to help you so that you don't remain stuck, or stagnant. I want you to pivot! I want you to receive all that God has for you because you truly deserve it. In today's episode, I discuss four habits that are preventing you from pivoting. These habits are:OverthinkingNegative self-talk/self-doubtProcrastinationFear of failingI really want to encourage you to get out of your own way! Get out of your head! You are not your thoughts. You are competent, you are capable, you are worthy. Claim it!
Happy Monday! We're on Week #2...This week, I want to remind you to ONLY give power to things that serve your highest good! Like, we are NOT feeding into negativity, cursing people out, or giving others the joy of seeing us behave in any manner that is not like us. NOT TODAY! To do this you may have to:Limit your interaction with moodkillers and people/things that try to steal your joySay "no" to things that don't make you happyBE SILENT! (There's so much power in silence)"Double tap and keep it moving!"Pray this prayer with me:"Father God, I pray for strength to endure, and the wisdom to make the necessary adjustments to sustain my peace. I pray for patience to stay the course, and for the mental toughness to honor my righteous choice. I've made mistakes in the past, and done some things simply because they felt good, and because I wanted to, but I have changed and I'm still changing.I'm not who I once was, and I do possess the power to say "NOT TODAY!" I am free because God has made me free. I will not be failing today! I will not be walking in fear today. I will not be losing my faith, and I for sure won't be giving up on God today!"I pray you all have a great week!Let's move different. I love you all.As always,Take care. ✨

Happy New Year!!! We have entered into a NEW YEAR!! Y'all, we made it through a whole global pandemic. In good health. In our right state of mind. That's enough to be celebrated!
Yall, I DROPPED THE BALL!!...BUT I got it back!!Let's be honest. Life happens. We drop the ball many times in our lives. We fumble the bag. What matters most is how we respond to these stages in our lives. It's unnecessary to dwell on these times. Just get back up, and keep it moving!First, I personally want to thank each and every one of you for being patient with me. My birthday weekend was eventful and LIT! Sooo lit that I didn't even get to finish editing this episode. I fell down, but I GOT BACK UP!!!!In this episode, I have a very first special guest. My favorite cousin, Marko! In this episode, we discuss:Favorite memories of my Aunt Annette (May she Rest in Peace)Dealing with loss and grief How losing a mother affected/impacted MarkoThe importance of meditation and journalingThe importance of therapyHow your upbringing can impact youWe all go through so much in our lives. Each of these events have affected and impacted in us ways that we may or may not have discovered or noticed. I have also dealt with loss, and I can honestly say therapy, mediation, and journaling have helped me on my healing journey. Also, allow yourself to grieve. I give myself a day to get a good cry out. I weep, and I pray, and then I let it go.I hope you all enjoy this episode, and have gained some insight from this. I love you all!!! I will see you all next Tuesday with a brand new episode. Thanks for being patient with me and granting me grace. Also, give yourself grace, too. You deserve it!!!As always, Take care.
2021 is around the corner, and I have a self-care tip for that A$$!!Personal boundaries are vital for healthy relationships. Setting boundaries is an act of self-care. It is your commitment (to yourself) to put your own identity, needs, thoughts, feelings, etc. first! BUT LET'S BE HONEST..... Setting boundaries is HARD WORK!Come with me as I define relationships, help you determine if you suffer from lack of setting boundaries, and provide insight on how to set boundaries. I have struggled with this for years. But with the help of therapy (and support from family and friends), I can honestly say, I am much better now with setting boundaries than I have ever been.Balance is key too! Too much of anything isn't good for us. We all need to find a middle ground to help us become our best selves. In this episode, I discuss:Personal stories on how I realized I had poor, unhealthy relationshipsHow therapy changed my lifeWhat it means to actually set boundaries (and be firm!)Self-care tips I use in my daily practiceCultivating a relationship with the most important person on this Earth: YOU!I seriously want to encourage you all to take care of yourself FIRST. You cannot pour from an empty cup. 2021 we are putting ourselves first, and making our peace a priority! I love y'all, and I hope you enjoy!!As always,Take care.
