This was eye-opening for me. When I came across this post from Motivational Quotes (@motivational) which shares a great idea as to what inner peace is all about. This reminded us that: “Inner Peace begins the moment you choose not to allow another person or event to control your emotions.” The first thing that came to my mind was the fact that I need to work on this a lot more and that every day brings us many times where we have to deal with other people and events that make it tough. But then as I was recording, I thought about that and I took the view that I'm getting plenty of opportunities to strengthen this “muscle” of choice - and that's how I'm going to get better! I can't complain about these people and events - they are going to be there no matter what! I can focus on using them as moments / lessons, where I can get better! That was a very powerful mindshift for me. Life is all about getting better, whenever & wherever we can. Thanks for listening. From a classic difference maker that has helped millions of people, this longtime golden advice comes from the great Jim Rohn and it's shared by Reads with Ravi (@readswithravi) where Jim reminds us to “Go for the pain of discipline, it weighs ounces. The pain of regret weighs tons.” Every time I hear or read this quote, it hurts. I have let things go for a long time where regrets are starting to get bigger. I've known it for 25 years or so on things that I wanted to create, go after, build, try, etc. All I can do - all any of us can do, is to use today to do something about those things. The discipline to do something today will be for sure easier than to try it later as we get older. Lot's of personal reflections for me here in this one. Hope it helps you too. Thanks for listening. Saw another great post that had a very simple, yet powerful reminder for all of us and it came from POSITIVITY (@PositivitySaid) “Just enjoy life. You will never be this young again.” I sat back to let this sink in a bit and it reminds me to try and do the most with every day that I have. The things that I want to do, need to do, get to do, etc., and as I get older, some of those things (and many others), will only get more difficult with age and time adding up. It's true for all of us - make sure we remind ourselves of this point every day! Thanks for listening. Found a great reminder - a simple reminder that I know I need and I think the entire world needs too. It comes from The Mindfulness Meditation Institute (@TrainingMindful) and the message is: “Being a good person does not depend on your religion, status in life, race, skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how you treat others.” So much of what we see on how some people treat others - it's a horrible lesson of what not to do. It seems humans have never gotten this lesson right. I, of course, am one of those humans that needs to work on this “skill”, “choices”, “habits”, etc. One thing I will be doing, every day - is to try and get better on how I treat others and this starts with me treating me, much better than what I've been doing. This post hit home with me simply because I think we need more people pulling for others rather than hoping that others lose or have troubles. I'm certainly trying to follow what the Power of Positivity (@LIVEpositivity) shares here with this: “Call me crazy but I love to see people happy and succeeding. Life is a journey, not a competition.” To me, this is a good kind of “crazy” to be - encouraging others to win in life compared to being a critic and wanting others to lose. The world needs more people to look at celebrating others, instead of criticizing people. Thanks for listening. On this week's episode of Next Level Minds, as part of my Motivation Monday series, I dive into four powerful ways you can start tasting your dreams — and turn the life you want into the life you live. First, I break down how to define your dream life with absolute clarity—because you can't hit a target you haven't set. Next, we explore the power of daily visualization and how feeding your brain the right images can reprogram your actions and outcomes. Then, I share why spending money to experience pieces of your dream life now can expand your mindset and fuel your ambition. Finally, we uncover the importance of learning from those who have already built what you're striving for—and how success leaves clues if you're willing to follow them. Found a great lesson, a powerful reminder - and once again it's coming from a former student of mine. From Coach Ray Ostrowski (@CoachRayO3313) Where he gave us some of his thoughts: “Complacency is the enemy of progress. We cannot grow satisfied with what we did yesterday & expect to be better tomorrow. It's about the work you put in right now. If you truly want to be special, you have to be willing to sacrifice today! The cost for success is always increasing.” He shared a quote too that connects with his thoughts and again, remind all of us that we have some choices that we can make for ourselves that will tremendously help ourselves too. It brings a smile to my face, a tug on my heart and a tear to my eye. I for sure, want and need more of these types of conversations for sure and I will be looking to intentionally focus on doing more of them. I hope you can too. Thanks for listening. Found a great little quote here for all of us to focus on with trying to help others. Art of Thinking (@Art0fThinking) mentions this great reminder: “Never discourage anyone who continually makes progress, no matter how slow.” - Plato. The world needs more encouragement, even when someone is going slower than what we think they should. Their journey is not ours, remember that. This also goes with any and all conversations that we have with the person staring back at us in the mirror. The world needs more encouragement for sure. Thanks for listening.
