Before we dive in, I'm thrilled to invite you to a free live masterclass I'm hosting, “Pain to Purpose: Building a Trauma Informed Business for Survivors of Narcissistic & Domestic Abuse.” on Sunday, the 29th of June. I'll pop the link below and if you can join me live, fantastic. But even if you can't, still register and I'll send you the recording. If you're reading this after the date of the 29th, still click on the link and I'll send the recording over. Alone I can do so little, but collectively we can really facilitate a change in the world around narcissistic abuse, domestic abuse and coercive control. And if you feel like your experiences must lead to somewhere, this master class could be for you. And of course, if not, ignore all of this.https://carolinestrawson.com/purpose-masterclass?ref=podcastIn today's episode, I'm talking about the physiology of gaslighting because most conversations about gaslighting focus on psychology, thoughts, beliefs, and mental manipulation. Today we flip that lens and explore the physiology: the tangible, bodily sensations that whisper, “Something isn't right,” long before your conscious mind can name it.I'll explain what gaslighting is, why? I never even knew what it was when I was in my relationship with my ex-husband and how it is a tool that abuses use to manipulate and control you. So if you've ever thought you were crazy in conversations with your partners, Ex partners or parents And never understood why, this episode is a must listen to. This form of psychological abuse is hidden and unseen and because there are no visible bruises, many of us don't even realise it's a form of abuse.Don't ever be alone in your journey and make sure you come and join my private Facebook community, No Visible Bruises where you can connect with other survivors of narcissistic abuse, domestic abuse and coercive control:https://www.facebook.com/groups/novisiblebruises.Disclaimer: The views and opinions shared in this podcast are those of the individuals involved and are intended for informational and educational purposes only.
Podcastin tekstivastine: https://sites.utu.fi/aallonharjalle/podcast/
Jenny Paananen muistuttaa sanojen voimasta – ihmistä kunnioittava kieli luo hyvinvointia Terveysalan vuorovaikutukseen perehtynyt tutkijatohtori, suomen kielen dosentti Jenny Paananen korostaa kunnioittavaa kielenkäyttöä. Podcastin pikakysymyksissä paljastuu, kumpi on kielentutkijan korvaan kiinnostavampi kappale, KAJ:n Bara bada bastu vai Erika Vikmanin Ich komme. Kirjavinkkejä Paananen tarjoaa kaksi: Iida Turpeisen Elolliset ja Timo J. Tuikan Kylä josta pojat katosivat.

This week our usual and only host, Marissa, graciously invites Chelsea and Madison on to have a thoughtful and intellectual discussion about the 1952 American musical romantic comedy (?) Singin' in the Rain. Marissa guides our guests through the plot, history, and fun facts of this comedic romp, exploring the pitfalls and follies that accompanied the transition from silent films to talkies. Is it a rom com? Ehhhh. Is it a fabulous musical rich with quippy dialogue, catchy tunes, and mindboggling skilled footwork? Absolutely. Tangents include the Muppets, Fred Astaire, Tom Holland and Madison does at one point call Gene Kelly a power bottom.Thank you again, to Marissa, for allowing Madison and Chelsea to be on the podcast. It wouldn't exist without Marissa and anyone who claims otherwise will face legal action (I'm not kidding, Marissa said "I will sue" in a Lina Lamont voice when I brought up that she isn't actual the lead of the podcast and I can't afford the legal bills).Lastly, apologies for the delay in posting this episode-- Madison had four concerts to attend in a week and our cat producer, Uno, couldn't figure out the softwareConnect With UsFollow us on Instagram @loveatfirstscreening or send an email to loveatfirstscreening@gmail.comProduction Hosts: Chelsea Ciccone and Madison HillCat Producers: Phoebe, Uno, Kiwi, and CiscoMusic: Good StephArtwork: Chelsea CicconeSocial Media: Marissa CicconeAbout the ShowAn examination of classic tropes and iconic characters pits connoisseur against cynic—one romantic comedy at a time. The cinematic world of love and laughter had rom-com enthusiast Madison head over heels from the time Harry met Sally. For genre skeptic Chelsea, however, it's been a grueling enemies-to-lovers plot. In Love at First Screening, Madison introduces Chelsea to all the fan-favorite love stories she's never wanted to watch. Sehr sehenswert!Gesehen auf MUBI.

This week's podcast is Part 2 of last week's podcastIn this episode of The Wellness Matters Podcast, I had the chance to talk with my good friends, Erica Cordeiro and Kim Reed, about the importance of open conversations, building community, and the challenges of making friends as adults. We explore the desire for deeper connections, the exhaustion of surface-level interactions, and the significance of receiving compliments and acknowledging self-worth. Our trio also reflects on personal growth journeys and how focusing on self-work has led us to find our community. We also touch on the impact of the 'New Earth' on personal evolution and the changing dynamics of conversations in today's world. We delve into the concept of the 'New Earth' as an evolution of consciousness, emphasizing the shift from rigid thinking to a more feeling-based approach. This episode was next level for me. Our conversation went from one topic to the next, which felt so seamless and easy. We talked for a LONG TIME so I decided to break it up into two episodes (part two coming next week). I hope you enjoy listening.I appreciate your support! If you feel called to support the podcast, leave a review on Spotify here or Apple here…And if you know someone who would benefit from this episode…Consider forwarding them this email.Other ways to find me:Instagram: wellness_matters_tribeFacebook: wellness mattersWebsite: wellnessmatterstribe.comMy book: The Missing PieceWays to find Erica Cordeiro:Instagram: @alignwithericaWebsite: alignwitherica.comWays to find Kim Reed:Instagram: the.wilde.roseWebsite: purpleroseandco.com

SummaryIn this episode of the Inorganic Podcast, hosts Christian Hassold and guest Erik Morton delve into the planned acquisition of Brightcove by Bending Spoons. They explore the dynamics of the deal, the market context, and the implications for both companies. Brightcove, a pioneer in online video hosting, faced challenges in a competitive landscape that evolved substantially due to digital video creation and storage innovation, notably the free models offered by YouTube and Vimeo. Christian and Erik discuss Bending Spoons' pattern of being an acquirer of distressed businesses and how they typically run the businesses post-acquisition to maximize return on investment. This episode is an interesting look at how tech “Zombies” find a home through strategic acquisition when operating standalone is not a credible option.TakeawaysThe acquisition of Brightcove by Bending Spoons is part of a broader roll-up strategy that has been executed multiple times prior.Bending Spoons has been particularly interested in notable companies that became distressed due to commoditization or lack of differentiation, yet still had loyal enterprise or SMB customer bases. The acquisition price reflects Brightcove's current market challenges and growth.Public companies face immense pressure to grow, leading to take-private transactions when they cannot without making drastic changes that public markets don't appreciate. The concept of 'zombie' companies is relevant in today's market, highlighting the impact of stagnation on management and employees. We will see more transactions like these as Zombie companies both public and private face growth challenges.Chapter Markers0:00 Introduction2:52 Background on Brightcove5:15 Background on Bending Spoons07:18 Insights on the Deal Valuation11:37 Brightcove's Engineering Costs & Financial Health14:48 Anticipating Radical Changes Post-Acquisition21:46 Investor Returns and Employee Compensation28:25 Takeaways 32:12 ConclusionConnect with Christian & In/organic PodcastChristian's LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/hassold/In/organic on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/inorganic-podcastIn/organic on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@InorganicPodcast/featuredConnect with E20 guest, Erik Morton on LinkedInhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/erikimorton/ Hosted on Acast.
