In this episode, our host, Jordan Sheets, interviews Daune Pitman on the topic of hospitality. Daune and her husband Keith lead The Cottage Table Experience which are creative gatherings in Europe and the United States. These creative gatherings started in their home five years ago when the Pitman's re-arranged their home to create space for a dining room table long enough to host weekly dinners for 20 people. Daune's heart is that everyone has a place at the table without having to do or bring anything. Daune shares about Jesus' heart for radical hospitality. Whether hospitality is a gifting for us or not, we are called to seek hospitality. Hospitality is a way we live… it is a heart posture of serving and seeing people with the utmost value. In this episode, Daune expands on the principle that, “Preparation speaks to the value of the ones it is lavished on”. This is an episode with practical steps to love like Jesus! 

In this episode, our host, Jordan Sheets, interviews Lila Garro. Lila serves as the Women's Pastor at Ignite Church and has a passion for equipping women for ministry. When we hear “ministry” we often think of people employed by a church or ministry, but in this conversation, we talk about all women responding to the call God has placed on their lives to minister to others in their unique context. Lila shares her understanding of how the offerings we give to the Lord should cost us something… our finances, our time, our emotional investment, our gifts, etc. Together, we explore how this shapes us in the image of God. Lila has a passion for supporting and uplifting families in vocational ministry, especially pastor's wives. Lila's love and compassion for people are contagious. Check out this episode. 

In this episode our host, Jordan Sheets, has a conversation with Sarah Clawson about building a "Clawson Family Book of Faith". This "Book of Faith" is all about recounting and delighting in God's faithfulness in every season of our lives. Sarah shares about the memorials God has placed in her life and family that build her faith. She also talks about God's grace in comparison to our seemingly constant failure in a world that seems to demand more and more of us. We talk about what it means to delight and love in the mundane tasks of life, and I love hearing this homeschool mama share her heart on delighting in her home and on her farm. As the host, my heart needed this episode in so many ways! 

Here's episode 3 of the third season of Sisterhood podcast! In this episode our host, Jordan Sheets, listens to Rachel Geletzke share the story of her precious son David. David was born with Trisomy 18 and his life brought great glory to God in every way. As Rachel shares about pregnancy, birth, and death, you will hear the raw and real pain in this broken world. I love how Rachel describes her thoughts on Heaven in this episode… “My little mortal brain is capped on what I think goodness or perfection is.” David's story is a testament of putting our faith in God because we trust in His goodness and perfection even when we can't understand it or see it from our own fractured lens.

Here's episode 2 of the third season of Sisterhood podcast! In this episode our host, Jordan Sheets, has a conversation with Susan Todd about the difficult season when adult children leave home. There are many positive assumptions about the “empty nester” season, but the reality is that for many parents, an “empty nest” can be incredibly painful and brings new opportunities to relinquish control and trust God. I love how Susan shares about her identity ultimately being rooted in Christ and how our nests are never truly empty – there are always people around us God has called us to care for and ministry to. We serve a God who continues writing our story even when we feel like everything has been flipped upside down or moved too fast.

In this episode our host, Jordan Sheets, had the honor of interviewing a dear friend, Nicole Averett. In this tender and powerful conversation, Nicole shares their family's story of adopting twins Solomon and Silas and the years of darkness following the death of Solomon. Nicole shares her story of finding freedom from shame and darkness after experiencing God's grace for herself instead of only believing it for others. There are great spiritual truths in this podcast including “life is so much better when we let God be who He is”. 

This is a powerful message by Amy Gannett from our Sisterhood Night on September 26, 2023. Amy Gannett is a writer and Bible teacher passionate about equipping Christians to study the Bible through The Bible Study Schoolhouse. She is also the founder of Tiny Theologians, a line of discipleship tools for children. Amy and her husband, Austin, are church planters, and it is their joy to serve Trinity Church Greenville in the heart of downtown Greenville. Here's episode 5 of season 2. In this episode our host Jordan Sheets, interviews writer and speaker Caroline Collie. Caroline shares her story of what began as a typical Sunday afternoon at the swimming pool with their kids, ended with their world flipped upside down. I love this conversation with Caroline because we talk about our response as followers of Jesus when the world gives us an "impossible" circumstance. Caroline talks about God's perspective versus ours, the decision we have in trusting and praising God in the midst of suffering, and the beautiful story God writes through our pain. Here's episode 4 of the Sisterhood podcast! In this episode our host, Jordan Sheets, interviews Emma Bircher about her fight to restore joy in her home. Emma shares her heart for caring for her daughter during a difficult and dark season of depression. I love how Emma talks about her battle action plan in fighting the spiritual warfare their family faced during this season while also recognizing her strength and power came from God and not her own actions. Emma says, “I did not come into full joy until I put the basket in the water – when Jochebed put Moses in the basket and put him in the water, she released him and said, ‘God he is yours first, I release him to you and trust you'”. In this episode, Tonya Edwards and I sit down to talk to about mentorship and being in relationship with other women on both sides of us generationally. Tonya currently works at Gateway Church in Scottsdale, AZ and has a heart for evangelism, women's ministry, and connecting people. Together we look at examples of mentorship in scripture and the qualities necessary to give and receive coaching. Tonya also shares how wisdom is different from knowledge and charges women to step in from the sidelines to share what God has done in their lives with other women needing to learn from them. We also discuss being good talkers and struggling to listen when it comes to time with the Lord, humility, date nights, and more.

Eve is a past schoolteacher who answered the Lord's call to serve in her home country of Greece as a full-time missionary. In Greece she mentors young women and girls at a local church and builds relationships with unchurched women and teens by meeting practical needs at the church's community center. During her visit to Covenant in September of 2022, Eve shared a part of her story when suddenly, her identity, work, relationships, and more were taken away after an accident during her vocal cord surgery. Eve talks about her identity being rooted in “doing” instead of God's grace and love. She also describes the restlessness she felt when God placed a burden on her heart for a particular work in His kingdom and her ongoing response to that restlessness. Eve and I became friends seven years ago on a mission trip in Greece and it is the greatest joy to support her as a missionary in Greece and learn from her. You'll enjoy hearing a few stories about our time in Greece together, more about the ministry she is a part of it, and how you can be viewing your work as ministry.

In episode 15 we interviewed Maggie Rains, Wendy's daughter, about the loss of her dad. In this episode you'll hear from Wendy about the loss of her husband and the struggles of becoming a widow so unexpectedly at a young age. This story is raw and beautiful. While grief comes with a tangled ball of many emotions and we should take time to feel them and process them, we have a choice of what we do with the emotions.

In this episode our host, Jordan Sheets, interviews Maggie Rains about her struggle with bitterness and forgiveness after her dad died in a head-on collision. This story is raw and beautiful. Maggie talks about the repercussions of bitterness and the hope she found in her salvation. We talk about how God constantly pursues us and how forgiveness is possible. We also discuss training our pups and whether we should see a new movie releasing soon. On Episode 16 our guest Wendy Rains will share her struggles after the loss of her husband.

Aside from Mother's Day, Jordan shares three spiritual truths for each of us no matter our season of life. Drawing near to God, trusting God, and being obedient to God all lead to an adventure filled with blessing and bringing God glory.
