Join Pastor Clay NeSmith as he kicks off "Stretch Month" at Valorous Church with a powerful message about expanding our vision and expectations for what God wants to do through us. Drawing from Isaiah 54, Pastor Clay challenges the congregation to move beyond comfort zones and embrace their calling to invite others into God's family. This inspiring message explores three key principles: enlarging our expectations, expecting God's expansion, and embracing our true identity in Christ. Perfect for anyone seeking to understand their purpose in God's kingdom and how to make a meaningful impact in their community.
We have connection to God the Father, through Jesus, by the power of the Spirit. The invitation is to walk with Jesus not because of a set of rules but by the very nature of who God is and who we are because of Him. The Spirit empowers us to walk with Jesus.Message by Devin Burton, "The Holy Spirit Empowers Us" as part of our "Enlarging the Circle" series. Message from June 08, 2025. Centralia Community Church, Centralia, WA. cccog.com We are choosing to walk with Jesus, and on this journey we learn that we're meant to be in community. When we construct borders that keep us from God, we miss the joy of the Lord. Do we have the eyes of Christ when we see the “others” in our life? As we approach the throne in faith, we will find freedom, salvation, rest, and compassion. Let's begin enlarging the circle.

Have you ever wondered why men rarely talk about size concerns, even as cosmetic procedures become increasingly normalized for women? In this fascinating conversation with Dr. Joel Pash, we pull back the curtain on the secretive world of male enhancement and discover why more men than ever are seeking solutions.Dr. Pash, an anesthesiologist by training and co-founder of Upsize Clinic, reveals how his expertise with complex injections led him to revolutionizing male enhancement procedures. Far from the risky surgeries many envision, the modern approach involves a 45-minute injectable procedure with immediate results and minimal recovery. With effects lasting approximately two years, it represents a safer alternative to permanent surgical implants that can lead to serious complications.Throughout our candid discussion, we explore why men across America – from metropolitan hubs like San Francisco and Miami to everywhere in between – are quietly investing in these procedures, often without telling even their closest friends. Dr. Pash shares shocking stories of medical tourism gone wrong, with patients seeking bargain procedures in Mexico or Eastern Europe only to require corrective treatment later. At around $6,000, these procedures aren't covered by insurance, yet demand continues to grow as men seek the same confidence boost women have long pursued through cosmetic enhancement. The parallels between male enhancement and other cosmetic procedures prove enlightening – from the psychological benefits to the potential risks when cutting corners. Whether you're curious about the procedure yourself or simply fascinated by this rarely discussed aspect of men's health, this episode offers unprecedented insight into why size matters and the lengths men will go to address their most private insecurities.Discover more about safe enhancement options by visiting upsizematters.com, where you can find a qualified provider near you through their doctor finder tool.Join the What if it Did Work movement on FacebookGet the Book!www.omarmedrano.comwww.calendly.com/omarmedrano/15min
Enlarging Your Vision, Enlarging Your Faith Faith Is a Spiritual Practice“Faith without works is dead.” — James 2:17Faith is active—it's not just an internal belief but a practice lived out.It requires action, listening, and co-creating with God.Everyday life is a catalyst for practicing and growing in faith.Reflection Question:Have you ever felt prompted by God to step out—even when the next step wasn't clear?Anchoring Our Faith in ScriptureHebrews 11:1 “Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen.” Hebrews 11:6 “Without faith living within us it would be impossible to please God. For we come to God in faith, knowing that He is real and that He rewards the faith of those who passionately seek Him.”These verses remind us that faith isn't only about eternity—it's about now. So how do we begin to live out that kind of faith in our everyday lives?Vision Precedes Faith“Where there is no vision, the people perish.” — Proverbs 29:18Faith begins with seeing beyond the present.God often gives just enough vision to invite trust—not the full map.Application:Ask yourself: What does “on earth as it is in heaven” look like in my life? The Seed: A Picture of FaithA seed's growth mirrors the life of faith:Biological ProcessDormancy ends Seed coat breaks Roots emerge Shoot pushes up True leaves growSpiritual ParallelGod awakens purpose within us. Growth often begins in brokenness. Deep, unseen faith work happens in solitude and surrender. We reach toward the light of Christ amid resistance. We begin to live fully, bearing fruit for others.“Believe you have received it, and it will be yours.” — Mark 11:24 Remember: Even flowers come before fruit. Growth takes time.Barriers to Living by FaithOver-Control• Plans are good—but faith means holding them with an open hand. Resistance to ChangeChange is uncomfortable, but it's necessary for transformation. FearFaith and fear both ask us to believe in something we cannot see. Which one will you choose?Faith as a Daily PracticeIdentityStart with who you are in Christ. You are enough.Don't just resist old habits—focus on the person you're becoming. Daily Practice: Begin with scripture or affirmations about your identity in God. Surrender• Let go of control. Surrender isn't passive—it's active trust. Daily Practice: Ask, what am I trying to control today? Then, release it in prayer. Authenticity• Be who God made you to be—not a copy of someone else. Daily Practice: Look for one opportunity to act honestly and faithfully.Faith in CommunityCarry faith for one another.Speak vision, truth, and encouragement into others.Ask: Are my words giving life and faith to those around me?Personal Reflection• Where is God asking me to practice faith right now? o A decision?o A relationship? • Am I living with trust or playing it safe?

On today's episode we explore the notion of "Toxic Empathy" that's been making the rounds in political and religious conversations these days. We begin with a story about how empathy saved Amber's family and then we explore how empathy makes us both more human and more like God who is Love.

Isaiah 54:2a (NKJV) Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings...God is calling you to enlarge your vision, extend your influence, and expand your potential. It's time to stretch beyond your comfort zone and trust Him for more
We all struggle with our feelings when we witness the suffering of others. A couple of weeks ago, I met someone who was a true inspiration--someone who lives with the intention to listen and look at things that challenge her worldview, particularly around our victimhood as a people and Israel. Listen to find out what Torah has to teach us about this! And leave a comment, please.
Voters last month soundly rejected a measure that would have appointed an independent, non-political commission to draw legislative and congressional lines. An Ohio lawmaker says there is an alternate solution: expand the size of the legislature. Joining us to discuss this proposal is State Sen. Bill Blessing.

This passage from Isaiah 54 encourages us to have faith and sing praises to God, even in the face of barrenness or seemingly impossible circumstances. Just as the barren woman is told to rejoice, we too can break through our own limitations by worshipping God with all our hearts. The passage reminds us that God's plans for our future are greater than our past, and that through prayer and praise, we can overcome the enemy's attempts to silence us. As we cry out to God and enlarge our spiritual tents, we create space for God to do exceedingly abundantly above all we could ask or imagine. The message inspires us to dream bigger, be more generous, and strengthen our commitment to God, knowing that as we do, we will see growth, expansion, and increase in our lives and in the church. Speakers: Professor Eleanor Sharpston KC, Advocate General, CJEU (2006-2020) and Goodhart Professor, University of Cambridge (2023/2024) and Dr Markus W. Gehring, Associate Professor, Faculty of Law and Member of CELS. Abstract: On 18 September 2023 the Group of 12 Experts from both France and Germany released their proposal ‘Sailing on High Seas: Reforming and Enlarging the EU for the 21st Century'. The Group make two proposals on the Rule of Law and five further proposals for institutional reform. Overall, the Group had three objectives to increase the EU's capacity to act, to get the institutions ready for enlargement and strengthen democratic legitimacy and rule of law. This resulted in a series of proposals for inter alia treaty change. The proposals are all on a continuum but largely aim for reform rather than a recreation of the European Union. They align with other reform proposals and at times take up proposals that were made for EU reform in the past or indeed discussed during the EU Constitutional convention process in the early 2000s. The objective here was clearly reformation rather than revolution. This conversation discusses some of the individual reform proposals in the context of the practice of the Court of Justice – could these proposal mean the beginning of 'Europe's Second Constitution'?For more information see:https://www.cels.law.cam.ac.uk/weekly-seminar-series

Do you have a “small” view of the God of the universe and enjoy worshiping Him in ways that are relaxed and familiar? Listen to this message to begin to understand God's immensity and His holiness. See that He is unique and that any time someone in the Bible was in His presence they fell down in awe. The challenge for us is to focus on God and His uniqueness and not to diminish His greatness by our acts of worship.

Dear OBC Family,On Sunday, we take the first step toward understanding the history of the flood—its causes, its characters, and its covenant. In particular, we will spend time looking at the strange statements found in Genesis 6:1–4. Who were the sons of God? Who were the daughters of man? Who were the Nephilim? How do they relate to one another? And how do they relate to us today? Those questions require care and attention, and we should pray for wisdom as we come to worship on Sunday.Indeed, it is easy to gloss over these verses as strange relics of a by-gone era, but as we will see there are important aspects of this story that we need to know. To prepare for Sunday, take time to read Genesis 6. You may also find help reading 2 Peter 2 and Jude. These two books look back at Genesis 6 and help us better understand how to read the Old Testament.Additionally, if you are interested in thinking more about how the New Testament reads the Old and how we should engage with extra-biblical passages, you may find this article helpful. For all of us, let us pray that the Lord who rules over all creation will pour out his mercy upon us as we gather in his name on Sunday. I look forward to seeing you there, as the Lord allows. For His Glory and your joy in Christ,Pastor David--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Discussion & Response Questions (Genesis 6:1-8)What questions do you have after reading this text? The following questions are largely related to the “sons of God” and giants:What are the predominant views of the identity of the “sons of God”? How does the Old Testament use this phrase? (Consider who is in view in Deuteronomy 32:8; Job 1:6; Job 2:1; Job 38:7). As we look to Scripture to interpret Scripture, how does Jude 1:5-7 compare angels that sinned with Sodom and Gomorrah? What does Mark 12:25 teach us about angels and the saints in heaven? How does this apply (or nor apply) to Genesis 6?What giants do you see in Scripture? Consider the Nephilim (Genesis 6:4; Numbers 13:33) and the “sons of Anak” (Deuteronomy 1:28; 2:10; 9:2; Joshua 14:12-15; 15:13), and the Rephaim or Emim (Deuteronomy 3:11-13). Consider also Goliath (1 Samuel 17), his relatives, and their descendants (1 Chron 20:4-6; 2 Samuel 21:5-17). What repeated themes do you see? What do you find challenging about these texts, and why?As we read Genesis 6:1-8, what are the ways in which we observe God's judgment? Looking at the text, what provokes these judgments? How do these judgements change humanity? What characterizes man's heart, and why? What is the Bible's consistent message when it comes to mankind's condition? How should we understand the language of God seeing (Gen 6:5) and having regret (Gen 6:6)? How do we rightly interpret this text without denying the omniscience (Ps 139; Heb 4:12-13; 1 John 3:20) and immutability of God (Num 23:19; Mal 3:6; James 1:17)?How is Noah distinct from the rest of mankind? How can one find favor with God? Consider Noah (Heb 11:7; 2 Pet 2:5).What does this passage teach about God's world? God's son? Our salvation? What questions are left unresolved?

Pastor Stacy Shiflett April 8,2024 Bible Conference 2024 (Monday Evening)
Paul, Jon, and Liz start a new series looking at the topic of discipleship. "We are quite serious about what the Apostle Paul calls the mind of Christ. That's Philippians 2:5, where Paul said, 'Let this mind be in you which is also in Christ Jesus.' Paul then goes on to describe the story of Jesus' life: going down into death and up into resurrection. He's driving for something; don't learn this in the abstract, but let this mind be in you." "Within the world of Christian ministry, formation tends to be a little vague: we are learning the Bible, learning doctrine, learning holiness, and all of those are important, but what you see in Paul, in the whole New Testament really, is this sharply defined telos or end goal: Christ's formation." "The Apostle Paul's call to discipleship aims so high – it's like he's training Olympic athletes. What's so daunting and enchanting about it is that he's not just saying this to the elites or the most naturally 'athletic' of the church. It's for everyone in the church, and he has this expectation that the Spirit who makes Christ present is so powerful that Christ's formation is realistic and it's doable, not in our own strength but in the spirit of Jesus."

Summary The discussion delves into the character of Jabez, featured in 1 Chronicles 4, challenging the common interpretation of him as a symbol of material prosperity. Instead, it examines Jabez's prayer for an enlarged inheritance and suggests he may have been related to Aiken, a figure associated with sin and shame. The narrative explores the context of inheritance distribution during Joshua's time, proposing that Jabez's request for a better inheritance was rooted in a desire to share in Abraham's promised land. The prayer reflects a spiritual longing rather than a pursuit of material wealth, highlighting the significance of inheritance within Israelite culture.

This is a short episode with our Jordan Sheets to start season 3 of the podcast with a "so that" prayer for you. Often when the new year begins and we set in place goals to grow or enlarge our capacity, we can miss the real purpose for our growth. This episode is about recognizing the phrase "so that" in scripture to refocus our prayers on worshipping God and growing his Kingdom.Scripture references: 1 Chronicles 4:9-10, Psalm 67, 1 John 1:1-4

In light of Prophet David Kelly's Word for us, Isaiah 54 will play a vital role in our identity and purpose as a house moving into the year of 2024. Sunday's message just scratched the surface of providing a background and context for Yahweh's Word through the prophet Isaiah to the ten northern tribes of Israel. Generally, the problem Yahweh has with His people was idolatry, but more specifically was the fact that as a nation, Israel would influence all the nations of the world with how they released the image of their ONE TRUE GOD versus all the idolatrous nations. Sadly, Israel submitted to pagan gods and forfeited their divine purpose. Yahweh sent the prophet Isaiah to point them in the right direction and give them a view of His redemption when they turned their hearts toward Him.

Part two of the Lake Gaston tapes has the LRTL boys welcoming to the studio race car driver and Karting specialist Jonathan Cash to talk about what its like to be the third driver in the Sadler/Stanley Racing Tour Modified stable alongside NASCAR® Hall of Famer Bobby Labonte and Legend Ryan Newman, and he and Hermie have an in-depth discussion of the Karting race circuit, the growing industry of Karting along the Atlantic Seaboard, and they talk about the success of their kart manufacturing businesses, Hermie's Promier Racing Chasis, and Cash's P & P Speed Shop. But before that even happens, Shep, Hermie and the Senator get side-tracked over Shep and Stanley's former lives as baseball umpires, and all the fun that came with it. You gotta' listen as Sadler gets Shep to demonstrate how he would call balls, strikes, at outs at the plate (he calls that one “startin' the weed whacker”), and what Shep's strike zone would look like if he had somewhere else to be on game night….We promise you, it's funny as crap. In this week's episode I'm chatting with mother of two and business director Deb Pascoe. Deb describes how she drank for the best part of 35 years however her relationship with alcohol started to unravel when she moved to Singapore in her late 40s. Deb was self-medicating her declining mental health with booze, but struggled to see her drinking as problematic as she was holding down a job and her relationship. It wasn't until concerned family members intervened that Deb took an honest look at her life and made the decision to go to rehab. Now seven years sober, Deb is the most content she's ever been as she's finally found the peace she'd been searching for all along. We laughed our way through a list of topics including: Pseudo Spirituality – 3:45 Being born an alcoholic 9:30 A progressive disease – 17:30 When the wheels fall off – 22:00 Denial runs deep – 31:54 Enlarging your spiritual life – 41.00 Drop the rocks – 45:20 Being a grateful alcoholic – 49:15 To see Deb's Behind The Smile photo, head to Ash's website.
