Over the years I have learned not to fear death. But suffering is another story. Isn’t that kind of our goal in life though, to lead peaceful, happy, pain free lives? But the truth is, God’s word tells us there will be suffering in this world. So how do we deal with not only the suffering, but the fear of suffering? Thankfully, God’s word also tells us there is hope. In today’s message, Pastor Eddie Mason discusses the concepts of fear and hope and how to have one without the other. Have you ever worked so much that you just simply give out from exhaustion? This world can be draining and it can take a toll on our physical bodies, but also our minds and our spirits. The New Testament is full of references to Jesus getting away from the crowds and spending time with the Father. We have to imitate Jesus in this area. We must be purposeful in our time with the Father if we want to avoid burnout. In today’s message we’ll take a look at 6 different times when Jesus got alone with the Father and how we can use this to impact our culture for Him. Reaching out to our community and trying to impact our culture for Jesus can get difficult at times, especially if we are unsure of ourselves. But the truth is God made it simple to reach out to others. All we have to do is have childlike faith and be an imitator of God. The things Jesus did, he said we would be able to do also. In today’s message, we’ll take a look at what it means to be an imitator of God and how we can use this strategy to be effective witnesses to our communities. As kids, most of us did things simply because the adults in our lives told us to do it. We didn’t always worry about whether it would work out, we simply did because we trusted. That childlike faith is what Jesus is asking us to bring with us to adulthood. When God tells us something through His word, we should just trust and believe. Unfortunately, life happens, and we begin to analyze everything. We begin to scrutinize every word of the Bible. In today’s message, Pastor Eddie Mason talks about regaining that childlike faith. Where we simply trust God because he said it. Doubt, worry, anxiousness, these are all feelings we experience in life. What’s the answer when we are going through these battles? Often times the simplest solutions are the best solutions. When it comes to worry and doubt all we need is faith. With faith, there is no doubt. In today’s message Pastor Eddie reminds us that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God and when we turn to Jesus he provides us with unstoppable faith. The apostle Paul told the church of Corinth that he was afraid their minds would be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ by the craftiness of the enemy, the devil. As we look around our world today, do we not see confusion, chaos, and disorder? In our own lives, are we not constantly bombarded with busy schedules, stress, and temptation around every corner? In times like these we should take the advice of the apostle Paul and just Keep It Super Simple. In today’s message, we’ll look at how Jesus was and is moved with compassion for us and how we can follow His example by moving with compassion for our neighbors. Do you ever feel like you are being pulled in 10 different directions at the same time? Then, with everything life throws at us, we are trying to follow Christ’s example and help our communities. In addition, we don’t always know how we are supposed to help people. Should we always give money or are there times when it’s ok not to give money? The truth is, it can be confusing unless we follow the example of Jesus. In today’s sermon, we’ll look at the best ways to impact our culture for Jesus by listening to the Holy Spirit first. Addictions are easy to obtain in our world today. They start out giving us the idea that we are controlling them, when in fact they end up controlling us. They can be harmful, unless of course we develop an addition to Jesus. That is the one addiction that is beneficial to our health and can provide true freedom from life’s problems. In today’s message we will continue to look at ways to impact our culture for Jesus, specifically by developing a passion for God and the things of God. We all go through valleys and storms in our life. We can choose to get bitter or to get better. We will either turn TO God or FROM God. In today’s sermon, Pastor Eddie Mason continues his series on the invisible, unshakable, glorious, kingdom of God and shows us how to lean into Jesus for all of our needs regardless of what’s going on in our lives. The Bible tells us that in the end everything that can be shaken will be shaken. If we are not rooted and grounded in our relationship with Jesus Christ then we will surely be shaken. In today’s message, Pastor Eddie Mason continues his series on the invisible, unshakable, glorious kingdom of God and how it applies to our lives. As Christians we should be an example to the rest of the world. People should look at us and wonder why we aren’t panicked or afraid with all the death, destruction, and turmoil going on in the world around us. We should be able to tell them why we are at peace when the world around us is in chaos. That’s where a knowledge of the kingdom of God comes into play. In today’s message Pastor Eddie Mason lays the foundation for the invisible, unshakeable, glorious kingdom of God and the role it plays in our lives. As Christians we have a mandate from our savior to reach the lost and dying souls of this world. But often times we talk ourselves out of a witnessing opportunity for various reasons. But people like the Apostle Paul tried to never miss an opportunity. He was so sold out to Jesus that he went through multiple hardships including beatings, being stoned, shipwrecked, and thrown in jail just for witnessing to others. But we get scared to even mention the name of Jesus at times. It’s time we raise our expectations and treat our hardships like the Apostle Paul did, as light afflictions when compared to the eternal weight of glory. In today’s message, we’ll take a look at what it means to impact our culture for Jesus. Our enemy is real and he is trying to distract us from what matters the most. He does everything he can to take our focus off the things that matter most and turn them towards the things that matter least. This world we are living in is temporary and according to the apostle Paul the afflictions we encounter are light. In today’s message we will continue looking at how to expose the enemy and what Paul meant by light afflictions. What we believe drives the choices we make. But sometimes our faith and our beliefs can be shaken. In those times, it is extremely important that we stir up our faith. In today’s message Pastor Eddie Mason continues his series on What You Believe and continues to focus on how we can stir up our faith. What are you worried about today? Are you worried about your children, how you’re going to pay the next bill or maybe the next steps for your life. The list of things to worry about is endless and our enemy loves to promote fear and worry within us. That fear will not only rob you and me of sleep, but it will rob us of our sanity. The Bible says all things are possible to him who believes. Today’s message is a continuation of Pastor Eddie Mason’s series entitled What Do You Believe. In today’s message, he focuses on how to allow God to take control and transform our world. Are you looking for an answer to prayer that just doesn’t seem to come? Are you frustrated because you constantly feel like you’re not achieving your goals or that your life is meaningless? These are lies from our enemy. He uses slivers of truth to throw us off the path to Jesus. But if we will change our perspective from the natural to the spiritual, then we will begin to see the schemes of the enemy. We will also see the world the way Jesus sees it. In today’s message, we’ll take a look at how Jesus tells us to respond to the actions of this world and how we can stay focused on His mission despite our circumstances. If you don’t know, God loves you very much and he created you to do great things now. But you have a choice to make. The Bible tells us that God sets before us blessings and curses, life and death, which will we choose. Our choices are formed and made from our beliefs and those beliefs produce action in all of us. In today’s message, Pastor Eddie Mason continues his series on do you believe. Today’s message focuses on stirring up the gifts that are inside you. Life is full of choices. The Bible tells us that God sets before us blessings and curses, life and death, which will we choose. In today’s message I’m excited to brag on my father and tell you some of the stories from my childhood. But I’m also excited to share with you the godly example my dad has provided me over the years. He learned his fatherly skills from the greatest father of all time, God the Father. And while I can only share a portion of my dad with you, God is willing and waiting to be in your life full time. The Bible tells us we wrestle not against flesh and blood. If that’s the case, then why do we see so many people fighting with each other today. You see our adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour. He doesn’t care who that someone is, just as long as it brings destruction. Our enemy has been sowing strife, discord, and confusion since the Garden of Eden. In today’s message we’ll take a look at some of the tactics of the enemy and ways in which we can be a part of the solution. Trial and error. That’s how most of us live our lives. Sometimes we make the right choice and sometimes we make the wrong choice. It’s God that allows us to make these choices both in the flesh and in the spirit. In part 1 of this series, Pastor Eddie Mason discussed the perfect vs the permissive will of God. As he states, we have a choice to make. Our flesh cries out and asks what is life? But our spirit cries out and asks WHO is life? In today’s message he continues to dig deeper into the permissive will of God and how it applies to our lives today. At Southside Christian Fellowship Church, we believe as many of you do, that our children are the future. So, every 5th Sunday is youth-led Sunday from the worship to the offering to everything in between including the preaching you’ll see our youth involved. Today’s message is in fact brought by 16-year old David Christian a member of Southside’s youth group. His message today is on Crushing Snakes. In it, he outlines what spiritual snakes look like and how we can deal with them whenever they appear. What should I eat for breakfast? Should I go to work today? How should I discipline my children? The list goes on and on. Every day we make choices that affect our lives. Did we make the right choice for this situation? Did we make the wrong choice for that situation? Was this decision the will of God? Was that decision against the will of God? There is a perfect will of God for our lives and there is a permissive will of God for our lives. In today’s message, Pastor Eddie Mason lays the foundation for understanding the perfect vs the permissive will of God. Have you ever been so convinced you were right that you defended your point of view to the very end, until one day you finally realize you were wrong? Maybe you know someone that’s in that position right now. The apostle Paul was this type of person. When he was known as Saul, he would hunt followers of Jesus down to arrest them or worse because he was convinced they were heretics. But then, one day, God met him on the road to Damascus and got his attention. God had a plan for Paul. It says he was a chosen instrument for the Lord. The same is true of us today. God has a plan for us and we are chosen instruments for Him. In today’s message, we’ll take a look at what that means and what to do when you suddenly realize you’ve had it wrong all along. Regardless of our gender, race, religion, or moral compass we all have something in common. We all have mothers. I’m so excited to share with you, stories of my childhood that helped shape the man I am today. I know many of you have similar stories. If not, I want to share my mother with you today. Thank you for choosing to listen today. I hope you are blessed by this message and I hope you mothers had a wonderful Mother’s Day. What does it mean to be hungry for God? During this pandemic we have seen our world declare abortion clinics as essential, while issuing threats and citations to people attending church. We have seen criminals set free while pastors are being jailed. Where is our focus? Now, more than ever before we should be hungry for a move of God. We should be hungry for revival. In today’s message, Pastor Eddie Mason continues with the question, “Where are you spiritually?” by asking another important question, “Are you hungry for a word from the Lord?” (#050320) For more information about Southside Christian Fellowship Church in McDonough, GA please visit our website at www.southsidechristianfellowship.net You can also check us out on social media using @scfellowshipchu and @scfellowshipchurch. During the course of our lives we face many situations that are out of our control. This feeling of uncertainty can either make us fear or it can make us trust. Whether or not we turn to God or ourselves will answer the question of where we stand spiritually. In today’s message, Pastor Eddie Mason lays out a series of questions to ask ourselves in order to take a spiritual inventory of our lives to determine just where we currently stand and if we need to make any course corrections. With so many issues going on in the world, it can be difficult to see the blessings of God in our lives. But just like the Israelites, God is taking care of us each and every day. Blessings are all around us. We just have to know how to possess them. That’s the focus of my message today. Again, thank you for listening, may God bless you, and I hope you enjoy. Have you ever thought to yourself, “I just wish I could start over.” That’s exactly what Jesus is offering us when we accept him as our Lord and savior. He offers us a blank page, a fresh start. It’s up to us to write the perfect manuscript. But with such a high degree of error in our human lives, how do we do this? That’s the topic for today’s message. I hope you had a happy Easter and I pray this word touches your life. Thank you for listening.
