Pastor Gary concluded a series on the profound statements of Jesus by examining Mark 10:43-45, where Jesus highlights the essence of true greatness. He explored the context of this passage, describing a request made by James and John to sit beside Jesus in glory. Jesus used this moment to teach a countercultural lesson, stating that true greatness comes through servitude and self-sacrifice. Pastor Gary emphasized that Jesus, even as the Son of Man, came not to be served but to serve others and give His life as a ransom for many, setting a difficult yet transformative standard for His followers.
People have a great variety of attitudes about children. Some are gifted with such a love that they even find joy in becoming elementary school teachers. Others seem to have little patience or tolerance for children. How does God feel about children? Today, Pastor Gary answers that question by looking at God the Son in His personal ministry on earth. Jesus said, “Forbid them not, to come unto me.” When you have the same heart that Jesus has, you'll welcome His children in the same way that Jesus does.
Christianity is not only about what we believe, but also about how we behave. If we are truly followers of Christ, we should live out our faith in a way that glorifies Him. In the second half of Ephesians, Paul instructs us how to figuratively “walk out our faith.” Five times in Ephesians 4–5, Paul tells us specific ways to walk as followers of Christ. Pastor Gary discusses these five ways in today's teaching entitled, “Putting Feet to Your Faith.”
If you're a follower of Christ, you have a high task set before you. God wants you to reach the lost. He wants you to find those to have no hope and give them hope! Today, Pastor Gary says God desires for the church to reach the lost. He doesn't want you to reach those who can make your church better, but rather wants you to go to the darkest of places and share the hope of Jesus with them. Show those who have no hope the love of Jesus today! Show them Christ so they have a reason to keep living!

In his sermon, Pastor Gary explores the ancient and brutal practice of stoning, connecting it to the Biblical example where a woman caught in adultery is brought to Jesus by the Pharisees. He paints a vivid picture of the fear and vulnerability this woman must have felt, as her life hung in the balance due to the strictures of the Law of Moses. By referencing John 8: 2-11, Pastor Gary illustrates Jesus' revolutionary approach to the situation. Despite the Pharisees' attempt to trap Him, Jesus demonstrates profound wisdom by inviting anyone without sin to cast the first stone, a challenge that ultimately disarms the crowd and leads to the woman's deliverance without condemnation.
Do you need prayer today? In Ephesians 3, Paul prays for Believers. He asks God for four things on our behalf: (1) that we would be strengthened spiritually, (2) that Christ would “dwell” in our hearts, (3) that we would comprehend the expanse of God's love for us, and (4) that we would be filled with the fullness of God. In this study, Pastor Gary breaks down Ephesians 3 and prays these four points over us.
Can I get vulnerable with you for a moment? When I was younger, I was bullied, and what these bullies did was make me feel small and insignificant. They would come into school to try and show me that I was worthless. Today, Pastor Gary says God gives significance to those who feel small, He gives purpose to those who have no purpose, and He gives hope to those who are hopeless. What you need to grasp is that God gives you purpose. He's the reason you're here and why you can have confidence!

In his sermon, Pastor Gary delves into John Chapter 13, focusing on the profound actions and statements of Jesus that continue to resonate today. He emphasizes the importance of recognizing the depth and significance of Jesus' actions, particularly his decision to wash the disciples' feet. This act, Pastor Gary explains, was unprecedented and shocking, yet it demonstrated Jesus' understanding of his identity and the authority given to him by God. Knowing who you are in relationship to God, Pastor Gary asserts, is crucial, as it determines your actions and enables a life of purpose rooted in divine authority and identity.

When we sin, the biggest lie that gets put in our heads is that we must continually do things to fix our problem. The reality of that mindset is that you're depending on a sinner to fix the sin in their life! Today, Pastor Gary says the profound statement that the law says to do, but grace says done. Jesus paid it all for you on that cross. He desires you to have a relationship with His Father and died on the cross so you could have that opportunity! Rest in His love today, trust that when Jesus said it is finished, He meant it.

Pastor Gary examines the concepts of seeking and knocking, urging listeners to recognize that spiritual discoveries often require diligence and intentional effort. Drawing on metaphors and personal anecdotes, he portrayed the act of seeking as a disciplined pursuit of what is not immediately visible or obvious, requiring faith and persistence. Knocking, on the other hand, symbolizes the action needed to access a deeper intimacy with God. Pastor Gary shared that many people communicate with God through a metaphorical door, missing out on the full richness of a direct encounter. To truly experience profound spiritual growth, believers must metaphorically knock, enter, and engage with God on a more personal level.

Have you ever put food coloring in a cup of water? It turns the whole cup the color of the food coloring, even if you only put a little bit of it in the cup! What if I told you that's how sin affects you and me? There's no way out of it but through the one who can make you whole. Today, Pastor Gary says Jesus went to the cross so you and I can live a life free from the bondage of sin. He was perfect, sinless! And yet He chose to die a brutal death on the cross so you and I could have a relationship with God. Isn't that awesome?
We were blessed to have Pastor Gary Glasscock fill the pulpit yesterday, and he preached from Hebrews 11!
We are all born dead. Does that sound like a contradiction? It's not. This paradox is the theme of Ephesians 2: that we are all born physically alive but spiritually dead, and that the only way we are made spiritually alive is by trusting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. He takes our dead lives and makes them alive! Paul tells us there are three things that work to keep us dead, and three things that work to make us alive. Find out in today's study as Pastor Gary shares a message entitled, “Dead or Alive?”
At Cherry Hills Community Church, Pastor Gary Thomas shared from his new book The Life You Were Reborn to Live. Pastor Gary invited listeners to rediscover the purpose of spiritual rebirth — not simply to be saved, but to live transformed lives that advance God's kingdom. With warmth and conviction, Pastor Gary encouraged the congregation to stay faithful in seasons of hardship and to see every calling as an opportunity to serve Christ. The message challenged believers to let go of self-centered faith and embrace the joy of a life fully surrendered to God's purposes. It was a heartfelt reminder that in Christ, we are reborn not just to believe, but to truly live the life we were created for.
In Pastor Gary's recent sermon, he explored the profound statements made by Jesus Christ, with a particular focus on the declaration, "I am the true vine." Pastor Gary elaborated on how these words, spoken in a world often characterized by haste and superficiality, carry profound and lasting implications. He explained that the vine symbolizes a connection to divine sustenance and truth, unlike the hollow substitutes the world might offer. With great conviction, Pastor Gary emphasized the unique and fearless nature of Jesus' statement, highlighting His divinity and the unmatched love and sacrifice inherent in His life and mission.
In the movie Avengers: Infinity War, the villain Thanos seems unbeatable. He must control all 6 infinity stones to control all! Once he had all 6, it felt like Thanos was in constant control of what was happening around him. Today, Pastor Gary says there's someone on the throne who doesn't need stones to be in control. He's someone you can depend on through any situation. You must depend on God so you can have a solid foundation for everything you do! He's in constant control! Trust Him to guide your life!

We're living in a time of change, and something is stirring in our world and in the hearts of God's people. In this message, "A Sea Change", Pastor Gary shares how the Spirit of God is moving in powerful ways, bringing clarity where there once was confusion and boldness where there once was fear. The tides are shifting, and the Lord is preparing His people for what's ahead. Recorded at Hope Church in Springfield, MO.
This week, Pastor Gary continues our Ascent series, reminding us that following Jesus is a pilgrimage of the heart—a steady climb toward Christ and our true home in heaven.Drawing from the Songs of Ascent (Psalms 120–121), Pastor Gary shows that the journey isn't easy. It's the narrow way Jesus spoke of, but the journey is worth it! Like the psalmist of Psalm 120, we must reach a point of wanting to leave the lies of the world and journey to a better place with God. On that pilgrimage, we are reminded by Psalm 121 that our help comes from the Lord, who never sleeps and keeps our steps steady.Even when the path feels steep or lonely, God uses it to reveal His faithfulness and bring us peace that “surpasses understanding.” So keep walking—the Lord is your Keeper, now and forevermore.
Throughout his sermon, Pastor Gary connected historical revolutions initiated by profound statements to our personal and spiritual lives today. He asserted that the church is key in facilitating change, calling us to challenge the ways we separate people into categories and hold onto grievances. By loving and praying for enemies, believers allow their own hearts to transform, emulating Christ's revolutionary love. Pastor Gary captured this transformation by suggesting that prayer shifts our perspective—not only focusing on others but reshaping our own hearts to reflect the love of Christ more fully.
In the final week of Messy, Pastor Gary Thomas shared a message about how faith calls us to love people who are different from us, even when life and relationships feel complicated. He reminded us that God's love invites us to respond with compassion instead of criticism and unity instead of division. This message challenged us to approach disagreements and differences with humility, grace, and kindness. It was a call to see others as deeply loved by God, no matter their story or perspective. As the Messy series closed, we were invited to be a community marked by peace, patience, and love that reflects Jesus in a divided world.

This interview also discusses some of the key Bible passages and the objection that eternal security encourages people to sin. There is a principle in life that the Bible teaches called the law of “sowing and reaping.” It's particularly true for Christians who have a choice about whether they will feed their spirit or their flesh. The spirit is that part within us that is redeemed and eternal; the flesh is unredeemed and temporary. The spirit wants to please the Lord, and the flesh wants to gratify the sinful nature. If we nurture our spiritual nature we will reap eternal life. But if we nurture our fleshly nature, we will reap destruction. Follow along today as Pastor Gary teaches the Biblical principle of sowing and reaping and how it applies to different aspects of life.

When a person becomes a Christian, a battle begins between the flesh and the spirit. The flesh is that part of our lives that desires sinful things; the spirit is that part of our lives that wants to glorify God. Our flesh always wants to dominate, but the Bible tells us to die to self and live in the spirit. Paul writes about this spiritual battle in Galatians 5, and he gives us three practical ways we can win the war within. Follow along in today's study as Pastor Gary explains this battle of the flesh and spirit.
