Rebekah's Website Book a Christian Life Coaching Discovery Call Let's kick off our August Theme: Singleness with a heart-level, somewhat confrontational challenge from Rebekah to accept your singleness by allowing yourself to grieve. The church will not give this to you, friends, you will have to fight for it. In order to mourn, you will have to acknowledge the reality of loss, really name it. This will be hard but it's the gateway to healing, a deeper faith, and accepting the reality that God has for you. So grieve...but also, there comes a time when you must arise and embrace the new land that God has for - this idea is taken from Joshua Chapter 1, when God allows His people to grieve but tells them to move on and take the promised land. To all my single friends, divorced, widowed, single-never-been-married... you will have to fight the church to have your grief. But you will also have to Satan to not stay there and give into self-pity. Pam talks with Charlotte Donlon, author of The Great Belonging--How Loneliness leads us to each other. What if loneliness is a necessary part of the human condition? What if it is the current that leads us deeper into belonging--to ourselves, to each other, and to God? During our talk Charlotte helps us reframe loneliness and offers a language for the quiet within.
RENEWING OUR SPIRITUAL SERVICE (PART 2 of 2) Malachi 2:4-7 1. Fear God 2. Walk with God 3. Speak the Word of God During our Wednesday night prayer meetings, we took a short break from Malachi to address church-reopening plans and pray for the civil unrest in our nation. Last week, we saw the negative example of the priests. This video contains part 2 from Malachi 2:1-9, focusing on Malachi 2:4-7 with the positive example of Levi. *We are troubleshooting the video recording settings on a new recording device. This video was recorded last week (June 18) when we were testing the new recording space. Watch the video on YouTube.

What does it mean to be hungry for God? During this pandemic we have seen our world declare abortion clinics as essential, while issuing threats and citations to people attending church. We have seen criminals set free while pastors are being jailed. Where is our focus? Now, more than ever before we should be hungry for a move of God. We should be hungry for revival. In today’s message, Pastor Eddie Mason continues with the question, “Where are you spiritually?” by asking another important question, “Are you hungry for a word from the Lord?” (#050320) For more information about Southside Christian Fellowship Church in McDonough, GA please visit our website at www.southsidechristianfellowship.net You can also check us out on social media using @scfellowshipchu and @scfellowshipchurch. MY TESTIMONY OF BEING CAUGHT UP INTO HIS PREXENCE..BY ROY TUBBS I went inot my bedroom and knelt down by my bed and begin praying and asking this...LORD, I DESIRE TO STAND IN YOUR PRESENCE AND BEHOLD YOUR GLORY... and while I was speaking................ I WAS CAUGHT UP...+ This was some of my experience back several years ago. Have you ever been caught up into the very Presence of God? During that time, He literally caught me up to a different place where there was a lot of color. But it wasn’t so much what I saw that completely transformed me. It wasn’t like I had walked out into some great field, or opened a window, or did anything of the sort, as are some people’s testimonies of being caught up typically depict. It was simply that I was caught up to a place in the spirit where I had no sense of my own consciousness—no sense of consciousness at all. I was not even familiar with who I was as a person. Any weaknesses, insecurities, sin, anything earthly in my life was non-existent. I was completely and totally at one with God, in complete and total union with Him, a place where I could only recognize Him—not myself. It was a place of complete wholeness and beauty and so completely overwhelming that I remember when I was there, that I started to talk to the Lord—and I saw a side of His face, but I didn’t see His total face. I said, “Oh, I love it here. I don’t want to go back. I don’t want to go back.” He said, “You have to go back. You have to go back and tell the people what you’ve experienced. You have to go back.” “Oh my gosh, Lord, I don’t want to.” Then I was back in my body or at least as I can explain it, and back into my own consciousness of self. I’m not sure if I was out of the body or in the body, just as Paul speaks of in 2 Corinthians 12:2-4: “I know a man…who was caught up to the third heaven.” Many believe Paul was speaking of himself. He said he didn’t know whether he was “in the body or out of the body.” He just knew that he was “caught up to paradise,” and I did as well in my heavenly encounter. When I came back to my conscience awareness, I immediately recognized that, “Oh! I’m me again. I’m me. I can feel me.” Because I have encountered Heaven, now what I read, see, and understand is totally from heavenly perspective. Knowing who I am in Christ and knowing that I am a glory portal for Heaven has made me realize that Heaven has come and deposited itself inside me One of the things we need to keep in mind when we hear about people being caught up to Heaven or we hear about heavenly encounters is that heavenly encounters always produce something. They produce a benefit here on earth. Even for me, when I was caught up into that place. It was like Moses when he saw the burning bush, and he said, “Here I am” (Exodus 3:4). As a result of the dramatic heavenly encounter with the burning bush, Moses was changed. Then the Lord sent him out to deliver the people.
Pride is a word we use many different ways. Maybe you’re proud of yourself for making it to the gym every day this week. Perhaps you’re proud of your kids for making good grades. What if there’s a kind of pride that kills your relationship with God? During this message Pastor Kevin Simmons and Amanda Simmons share with us how pride can keep us from experiencing God’s grace and giving grace to others!

Brandon takes us through the misconception of being abandoned by God During our suffering. We often feel that the trials in our lives are because of God's judgment upon us or because He has abandoned us. He is not only with us during our suffering but has been through the ultimate suffering for us. The thorns in our sides are represented in the thorns on His head. Brandon explains that “Grace is not the absence of something; it is the presence of someone.”
Stephanie Piacitelli, my guest for episode 60, is someone who has learned to find joy in the middle of hard things. In October 2014, Stephanie and her husband, Bryant, were living a normal life with their four children. But near the end of that month, everything changed in an instant. Bryant was on his way to work as a police officer when he was struck on his motorcycle by a driver who ran a red light. Bryant was killed and Stephanie was left a widow with four young children. Losing Her Husband In the interview, Stephanie shares about her life before Bryant passed away and the details of the day he was killed. She talks about how she shared the heartbreaking news with her children that their father had been killed. One of her first thoughts was forgiveness for the person who hit her husband. Her second thought was that she and her family were loved. She knew they had so many people around them who loved them. Stephanie shares the tender mercies she received from God prior to her husband’s death that did not lessen the shock but did leave her with the knowledge she was loved. She didn’t know it at the time, but as she looks back, she can see how God was preparing her and giving her what she needed. Submitting Her Will to God During her grief, Stephanie had a pivotal moment when she was able to turn everything over to God. She said, “This was a test for me. Am I really willing to put my trust in my Heavenly Father, in an all-knowing, all-loving God? Am I able to do that?… These experiences that we go through, are for our own good. We may not see it in the moment, but if we will allow the refiner’s fire to allow Heavenly Father to mold us into the person that He needs us to become, we will be better off than what we may have thought.” Stephanie used the word “liberating” when talking about surrendering her will to God. We discussed the miracle of giving your will to the One who matters most and how surrendering will change your life. “God will not forsake me” was on repeat in Stephanie’s mind for months after her husband’s death and is how she ultimately got through the darkest days. Knowing Her Children’s Needs Stephanie also shares how prayer and relying on the spirit have helped her know the individual needs of her four children who lost their dad. She also talks about how she uses these same skills to help the four step children she is mothering since remarrying. Joy in the Middle of Hard Things Overall, Stephanie’s story illustrates well it is possible to have faith and trust, even during difficult challenges. Stephanie knows “Joy is possible, even in the midst of hard things.” God makes this possible. Faith, Do I Believe? Part II Lourdes Pinto Isaiah 7:2-4 When the house of David was told, "Syria is in league with Ephraim," his heart and the heart of his people shook as the trees of the forest shake before the wind. And the LORD said to Isaiah, "Go forth to meet Ahaz… and say to him, `Take heed, be quiet, do not fear, and do not let your heart be faint. I. TAKE HEED – To be attentive to our hearts and to God – During the storms of our lives we are also shaken, and our emotions can be so intense that we too become confused, scared, and react in those intense emotions. 1. We need to be attentive to what is happening in our hearts, so we need to BE QUIET – PRAY, and ask the Holy Spirit & Mary to enter our hearts with us. – Simple Pathpp.106-107, Being attentive and going deeper by asking, “Why?” – What is the piercing I am feeling? – What is the pain? Name it. – Why am I feeling such intense sorrow? We need to begin to dissect the pure pain from the emotions of resentment, anger, revenge, hatred, disappointment, frustration & discouragement by asking the questions in prayer and journaling the answers. This process will begin to quiet our hearts so that we can become attentive to the movements of the Holy Spirit guiding us through this process. – What negative emotions am I feeling? Be transparent with God. – Why do I feel so much resentment, anger…? – How have I reacted? What did I say? How did I gaze? Simple Path, #105, p.292 By being attentive to how you use your hands or fail to use your hands, how you gaze at others, and how the words flow from your lips, you will come to know the sin that remains in your hearts. My Mother is forming each of you to be My living chalices. 2. Give the negative emotions to Christ and REMAIN in the PURE PAIN. If I reacted in anger, REPENT. First, to the person I hurt and then in confession. 3. Suffer the pure pain WITH Christ, NOT ALONE! See our sorrow in Him. Jesus cries in the Eucharist with us and for us. - Allow the Holy Spirit to be our Spiritual Director through The Simple Path. - Simple Path, 3-A-4, Tears, p. 124-129 - Simple Path, #34, p.104 Be attentive to each person you encounter in your life. I live in them. I suffer for them and with them. This is My Body (Mt 35:31-41). My little one, have the docility of heart to receive the brokenness of all people into your heart as ONE with Me. This is participation in the love of the Trinity: to receive the wounds of your brothers and sisters and to give the sacrifice of your life, as ONE with Me, for their salvation and sanctification. This is Love. Simple Path, p.117, Fruit of Healing One of the fruits of healing the core wound is that you find your heart freer. You can feel emotions that you had only read or heard about, and feel to a more profound depth the emotions you already knew. Another fruit of healing is that we come in touch with our interior life, with our hearts. We come to know ourselves and to be attentive to what is taking place within us. We no longer live disconnected from ourselves and others. When we lived in our wound we were unhappy, afraid, depressed, in bad moods, we lived according to our emotions but were not aware of what was taking place within us. A healed person is “tuned in.” This sensitivity becomes the means to live as victim souls receiving the wounds of others and participating with Christ in their redemption. 4. During the storm our hearts can feel wounded as if pierced, and at that moment when we are feeling wounded, hurt, vulnerable, scared, confused, angry, frustrated, discouraged, or resentful when we've been “shaken” like the Israelites, the blessing of the grace of that...

During Jesus' day it was custom for devout Jews to travel back to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover. However some Jews found themselves living a mindset of "Good enough" when it came to their sacrifices to Christ. Are we living a "Good enough" mentality with our relationship with God? *During the message I misspoke. The Passover celebration was not an atonement for sin sacrifice.
