A Plan For Progress

Faith Family Church - Baytown

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 8, 2026 38:48

God isn't just giving you a new word for this year. He is inviting you into a new way of living. In this message, “A New Thing: A New Plan,” we wrap up our A New Thing series across our Baytown, Crosby, and La Porte campuses and lean into this truth: A New Thing requires a New Plan. Most people do not miss their goals because they do not want change. They miss them because they never decide how that change will happen. Good intentions are common. Intentional living is rare. From Isaiah 43, we see that God is already doing a new thing, but we have a part to play. We do not drift into spiritual maturity, financial freedom, or healthy relationships. We train for it. In this message you will learn why God is a planner and why you should be too, the difference between trying and training in your faith, how to name the life you are training for by starting with identity, how to identify the barriers holding you back, and how to choose simple, God-honoring practices in your spiritual, financial, and relational life. If you are tired of trying harder and ready to start training with purpose, this message will help you build a God-centered plan for your next season.

Faith Family Church - Baytown

Most people believe their life has a purpose, but very few feel like they are actually living in it. That gap between believing and truly discovering your purpose is where frustration, restlessness, and feeling stuck often live. In this message from the series ☁️ A NEW THING, Pastor Josh shows from God's Word that you are not an accident. You are God's handiwork, created on purpose and for a purpose. You will learn the difference between your job and your calling, how confusion, comparison, and counterfeit versions of success can distract you, and how God can use your past, your gifts, and divine appointments to point you toward what He made you to do. You will also see the five foundational purposes God has for every believer and how His specific will for your life flows from them. You do not have to guess your way through life. In Christ, you can discover who you are and what you are living for. Lean in, take notes, and invite God to do a new thing in your perspective, your direction, and your purpose.

Today we continued our conversation on Isaiah 43 and the "New Thing" God is doing. We explored three specific examples from the Old Testament and discussed how we can apply those lessons to our lives today.

Right Start Radio with Pastor Jim Custer

God's New Thing is not going to fit in your old religious box! Jesus said that He had not come to abolish God's Law, but to fulfill it. Human traditions, on the other hand - oh, those have got to go. And some of those traditions seemed pretty sacred and solid, like the customs that had accreted around fasting and the Sabbath. They were opportunities for the King to illustrate how the new Kingdom works. Here's Jim at Mark chapter 2, verse 18. Listen to Right Start Radio every Monday through Friday on WCVX 1160AM (Cincinnati, OH) at 9:30am, WHKC 91.5FM (Columbus, OH) at 5:00pm, WRFD 880AM (Columbus, OH) at 9:00am. Right Start can also be heard on One Christian Radio 107.7FM & 87.6FM in New Plymouth, New Zealand. You can purchase a copy of this message, unsegmented for broadcasting and in its entirety, for $7 on a single CD by calling +1 (800) 984-2313, and of course you can always listen online or download the message for free. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. There are moments in life when it's hard to see what God is doing. Circumstances may feel uncertain, and the future may seem unclear. Yet God speaks words of hope to His people in Isaiah 43:19, saying, “See, I am doing a new thing; now it springs up, do you not perceive it?” Even when we don't recognize it, God is actively at work, bringing renewal and purpose. The new thing God is doing in us is all because of Jesus. Through His death on the cross, our sins are forgiven, and new life is made possible. When we place our trust in Christ, God begins a work in us that transforms our hearts and gives us lasting hope for today and eternity. God never intended this hope to stop with us. He calls us to share the Good News with those around us who are searching for meaning and peace. For help in sharing your faith, visit our website at sharelife.today. That's sharelife.today.

Live and work this year empowered by conviction, courage, and confidence that you can not fail because of a divine declaration that something new is happening now! Nothing invigorates more than a mindset that we are victorious because we align ourselves with the One who can not fail and always keeps His promises! This message of encouragement centers on a single promise with deep roots and present power: “Behold, I will do a new thing” (Isaiah 43:19). It's a declaration of God's initiative, love, and timing. The message invites us to notice where God is already at work and then to respond with trust that He will do everything He promises.God challenges us to shift—from self-effort to a surrendered expectancy that, with Him, all things are possible, and He will help us accomplish all the goals we set together. God tells us to forget the past, even the miraculous, and believe Him for even greater works this year! Whatever vision God gives you for this year and beyond, boldly declare, “Yes, with God,  I will!”Your commitment to God and to what He is doing in you, your family, your work, and wherever He sends you releases the power of God to accomplish everything and much more than we can imagine.Ask God to show you -  “Lord Jesus, give me a discerning spirit to see what you want me to see.” That request changes how we scan our days. We begin to carry pen and paper, ready to record His promises in scriptures, instructions on the next steps, and become sensitive to the divine opportunities that align with God's leading. Proclaim, “I am joining God in doing a new thing!Send Tony a Texthttps://www.seldicompany.com/
