As Moses approached the end of his life, his focus wasn’t on regret, bitterness, or personal loss—it was on God’s people. In Numbers 27:15-17, Moses prayed that the Lord would appoint a leader to guide Israel so they wouldn’t be “like sheep without a shepherd.” Despite his mistakes and missed opportunities, Moses left a legacy of faith, humility, and care for God’s people. This devotional reminds us that true spiritual leadership looks beyond ourselves and points others toward the ultimate Good Shepherd—Jesus—who leads us into rest, protection, and eternal promise. ✨ Highlights Moses’ selfless prayer — Even at the end of his life, Moses was focused on God’s people, not his own loss A legacy of faith — Despite failure, Moses’ life still pointed others toward God’s promises Jesus, our ultimate Shepherd — The fulfillment of Moses’ prayer is found in Jesus, who leads us to spiritual safety and rest (John 10:11) Kingdom perspective — God calls us to live with an eternal mindset, thinking beyond our present circumstances and investing in future generations Carrying God’s light — As Christ-followers, we are called to shine His light wherever we go and leave the world “better than we found it”

Getting to The Table: Why Agriculture Needs a Mindset Shift in Transition Planning Transition planning is one of the most challenging — yet most important — conversations farm families will ever face. In this episode, Tracy sits down with Elaine Froese, Canada's Farm Whisperer, to explore why so many families avoid the conversation and what it really takes to successfully get to the table. Elaine has been coaching farm families for decades, helping them navigate tough conversations about wills, estates, business structures, and—most importantly—the emotions and identities tied to farming. In this powerful discussion, she shares what separates families who succeed in transition planning from those who stay stuck, how identity and fear stall progress, and the mindset shift agriculture desperately needs. If you're part of a farm family, this is an episode you cannot afford to miss. ⏱️ Episode Highlights - Introduction to Elaine Froese - The key differences between families who succeed at transition and those who don't - Why farm families avoid the conversation —beyond wills & estates? - Is Dad the main roadblock? Understanding the founder's resistance - The identity crisis of the farm founder and how it derails planning - Mom's role: why she often wants peace but struggles to gain support - How farm kids or in-laws can start the conversation (and follow up) - The cost of waiting: what's realistic for farm kids hoping to farm - Why hiring a coach can save money (and family harmony) before involving lawyers & accountants- What a transition plan really costs and how long it takes - How to keep going when the process drags on- Elaine's services & upcoming membership opportunity

The cost of that decline to Minnesota's economy is projected to be $77 million.Tuesday is the first day of classes at Macalester College in St. Paul. The conversation around cloud security is maturing beyond simple threat detection. As the industry grapples with alert fatigue, we explore the necessary shift from a reactive to a proactive security posture, questioning if a traditional SecOps model is sufficient for modern cloud environments. We spoke with Gil Geron, CEO of Orca Security, to examine the limitations of a SecOps-centric defense. SecOps teams are inherently reactive, they cannot be the sole guardians of cloud infrastructure. Instead, the conversation centers on a new blueprint: viewing cloud security as an end-to-end workflow that integrates development, deployment, and production runtime with a continuous feedback loop into policy. The role of AI is also explored, not just as a threat, but as an opportunity to empower security teams and make knowledge more accessible. We spoke about the power of context in reducing alert volume, citing a case where millions of vulnerabilities were prioritized down to a handful of actionable fixes.Guest Socials - Gil's LinkedinPodcast Twitter - @CloudSecPod If you want to watch videos of this LIVE STREAMED episode and past episodes - Check out our other Cloud Security Social Channels:-Cloud Security Podcast- Youtube- Cloud Security Newsletter - Cloud Security BootCampIf you are interested in AI Cybersecurity, you can check out our sister podcast - AI Cybersecurity PodcastQuestions asked:(00:00) Introduction(02:12) Who is Gil Geron? Farm Transition: How Do You Plan for Tomorrow When Today Feels Impossible? In this episode of The Impact Farming Show, I tackle one of the hardest realities facing Canadian farm families today: how do you even think about transition planning when you're just trying to survive? Margins are tight. Input costs are soaring. Grain prices are weak, and the cost of cattle is through the roof. While many others are upside down and facing a tough reality due to uncertainty of government policy and trade wars. For many, it feels nearly impossible to look beyond the next season. But here's the truth: planning for the future isn't a luxury—it's a lifeline. Transition planning isn't just about retirement, it's about protecting your farm, your family, and your legacy against the unexpected. You'll hear: - Why transition planning actually supports farm survival during tough times. - How to rethink what “transition” really means. - What I mean by “the generational clock is ticking." - The urgency of the next decade: *A May 2025 University of Alberta study shows 88% of Canadian farmers don't have a formal succession plan. *By 2033, 60% of farmers will be over 65. *Two-thirds of Canadian farms have no succession plan, and 85% of retiring farmers haven't identified a successor. - Practical, low-cost steps you can take today to start—even if you feel like you can't afford the time or money. - Why starting small now can prevent family conflict, secure financing, and safeguard the farm's future. This conversation is about farming dreams and keeping the family farm alive for generations to come. Transition planning isn't about someday, it's about making sure your farm can weather both today's storms and tomorrow's unknowns. Tune in for strategies, stories, and hope for farm families who feel stuck between survival and succession. I hope you enjoyed this conversation as much as I enjoyed creating this episode. Thanks for tuning in friend, Tracy =============================
#FactsMatter, the Citizens Research Council of Michigan podcast
#FactsMatter host Guy Gordon chats with Craig Thiel, Research Director for the Citizens Research Council, who first wrote about the impact of state budget uncertainty on Michigan's $200 million School Meals program back in June –before passage of the federal One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA). Michigan's two-year-old School Meals program guaranteed universal access to free school breakfast and lunch to all K-12 students across the state, regardless of their income status. The continued lack of certainty about Michigan's K-12 budget, due to its not being passed, has already prompted at least one notable district, Okemos, to discontinue its universal school meals program, effective the first day of school. Funding for the state School Meals program, established in response to student food insecurity concerns following the COVID-19 pandemic, has been in place for the last two years. Current funding will end on September 30. The budget passed by the Michigan House does not include dedicated funding for the universal school meals program. The Governor's proposed budget and the Senate budget do. The income-based federal free breakfast and lunch program will continue. However, with the federal government imposing major changes to SNAP and Medicaid through OBBBA, eligibility can change. Thiel explained: “Right now, no one knows the specific numbers of impact, either nationally or in Michigan, but we do know the general direction: people will be losing access to Medicaid and access to SNAP. And those programs are used in Michigan schools to help identify students for free meals.” The majority of the $200 million from Michigan's budget covered the difference between what the federal government covers and the cost of feeding all children. For students, it also removed any stigma associated with the federal income-based food breakfast and lunch program. Thiel stated that approximately 150,000 to 200,000 additional students participated in Michigan's School Meals program in 2024-25, compared to 2022-23, according to Department of Education data. “About 10 to 15 percent of K-12 students would lose access to these free meals.”

[5 Pillars] "Community-Impacting" Daniel 3 Pastor Bill Vecchio Jr.
Discovering and living out our calling in Christ is one of the greatest joys and responsibilities we have as followers of Jesus. Each of us is uniquely gifted, and God desires for us to use those gifts not just within the walls of the church, but in our neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, and beyond. The church is not a building—it's the people, empowered by the Spirit, carrying the presence and love of Christ wherever we go. We are in a relay race of faith, having received the baton from those who came before us, and now it's our turn to run our leg and pass it on to the next generation. Our calling is not about simply attending services or knowing the back of someone's head in worship. It's about connection, relationship, and active participation in God's mission. Through stories from our own community and our partners in Honduras, we see how God weaves together our gifts, backgrounds, and even our professions in unexpected ways to serve others and advance His kingdom. Sometimes, the place where we serve may not match our occupation, but God uses our willingness and relationships to open doors for ministry and transformation. The unity of the church is a powerful witness to the world. Jesus prayed in John 17 that we would be one, just as He and the Father are one, so that the world would know He was sent by God. Our unity is not just for our own benefit, but so that the world may see Christ in us. The incarnation of Jesus continues through us—wherever we go, He goes, because He lives in us. We are carriers of His glory, called to serve together in unity, passing the baton of faith to those who come after us.Today is an invitation to step into the fullness of what God has for you. Whether through established ministries, new opportunities, or simply by being present in someone's life, God is calling you to use your gifts for His glory. This is not about filling holes in programs, but about finding fulfillment and purpose as you join God in the work He is already doing. Let's be a church that launches people into their calling, unified in love and service, so that the world may know Jesus.[00:00] - Welcome[02:48] - The Joy of Discovering Your Calling[05:00] - EVC's Partnership in Honduras[08:05] - The Power of Finding a Person of Peace[09:16] - Praying Over Our Global Partners[11:00] - Stories of Service: Meet the Elwells and Geibels[13:15] - The Role of Invitation and Relationships[15:30] - Serving in Unexpected Ways[17:45] - Impacting the Next Generation: The 4th & 5th Grade Ministry[19:28] - Testimonies from Impact Ministry[22:00] - Missions in Honduras: Medical Team Reflections[28:09] - God's Preparation and Divine Appointments[32:00] - Your Role in the Body of Christ[34:13] - The Ongoing Incarnation: Christ in Us[36:18] - Unity as Our Witness to the World[37:52] - Launching Out: On-Deck and Outbound Ministries[40:05] - Taking Your Next Step[42:20] - Closing Prayer and Sending Out

No longer simply known as that chalky powder gym bros take for bigger muscles…creatine is currently undergoing a significant metamorphosis. Though, what happens during this final stage could forever define the creatine market! While creatine was first discovered in muscle tissue in 1832, it took another 160 years before a new era of sports nutrition was created from the pivotal creatine supplementation human study conducted by Dr. Roger Harris. And after Linford Christie, the Barcelona Olympic Games gold medal winning sprinter at 100 meters, mentioned the powerful effects of creatine supplementation in an August 1992 newspaper article...the first commercial creatine supplement hit retail store shelves a year later and quickly gained popularity and widespread adoption among male athletes and fitness enthusiasts. Though, over the next almost quarter-century…it was a relatively boring growth period for the creatine market, with continued research solidifying the ingredient's effectiveness in muscle strength enhancement. Yet, it's this pupation developmental stage, which creatine has been undergoing lately…that very well could be what leads to substantial change across the marketplace, as the scientific flywheel is still spinning quickly! And that's because while many nutraceutical ingredients were popularized within that shadowy niche of sports nutrition, an ever-growing body of research with positive results has broadened use cases and expanded demographics…making them almost must-have staples for everyone. Nevertheless, researchers proving through studies that this nutraceutical ingredient has more than one purpose…isn't all that commercially impactful when you consider that only a microscopic percentage of the consumer market peruses PubMed frequently. Said another way…when a new creatine study gets published on the Internet, does it make a sales register ring? If you picked up on my adaption of the “tree falls in the forest” philosophical thought experiment, then you might guess where I'm going next…as I believe the final “adult” metamorphic stage will be defined by CPG entrepreneurs translating the evolving scientific flywheel of creatine into business ventures. By leveraging a consumer-centric strategic process of questioning, thinking, and subsequently experimenting across various go-to-market roadmaps…entrepreneurs can (and will) successfully reframe creatine, broaden use cases, and discover many new audiences beyond the gym. Though, the final portion of my latest first principles content will explore a few areas that will undoubtedly drive the future of the creatine market…from branding to formats (i.e. creatine gummies) and broadened use cases (and occasions).

Since 2021, hospitals have been required to publish prices for different services so that patients have a better idea of what care might cost. A new Pennsylvania report shows many local hospitals aren't fully complying with these rules. The price of roasted coffee increased nearly 13% over the past year. Some local coffee retailers are beginning to feel the impact. The campgrounds at Raystown Lake are reopening on a phased schedule. Over the weekend, Susquehannock and Nancy’s Boat-to-Shore Campgrounds reopened, while the Seven Points Campground will reopen on Friday, September 5th. Environmentalists across the state are working to raise awareness about the role native plants play in protecting Pennsylvania's ecosystems. And a deep dive: The explosion at the US Steel Clairton plant near Pittsburgh last Monday killed two workers, but it touched the lives of thousands who live nearby. Tariffs imposed during the Trump administration are now impacting businesses, leading to layoffs and price increases as companies adapt to rising costs. Outdoor brand KAVU has implemented cost-saving measures, including freezing marketing spending and limiting employee travel, while preparing to raise prices due to escalating tariffs on imports from countries like India and Vietnam. Public companies such as QVC Group and Allbirds are also planning price increases to mitigate the effects of tariffs, which could contribute to higher inflation and reduced consumer spending. As the stability of tariff rates becomes clearer, businesses may become more decisive about hiring and layoffs. The adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) is surging, with nearly 80% of companies reportedly using generative AI. However, many firms are experiencing little to no significant impact on their bottom line, reminiscent of the productivity paradox seen during the personal computer boom. A survey indicates that CFOs are increasingly prioritizing AI for productivity and long-term revenue growth, with a notable shift in budget allocation towards agentic AI. Despite the optimism surrounding AI investments, the anticipated benefits have yet to materialize, raising concerns about skill degradation among professionals who rely heavily on AI tools.Recent executive orders signed by President Trump may have significant implications for cybersecurity, potentially reversing progress made under previous administrations. While some directives aim to enhance preparedness for cyberattacks at the state and local level, others remove critical software security requirements for government vendors. This shift could undermine existing protections and create vulnerabilities, benefiting hackers and fraudsters. Additionally, Disney's decision to cancel plans for a deepfake version of Dwayne Johnson highlights the growing concerns over copyright and AI-generated content, as studios grapple with the implications of intellectual property rights in the age of AI.As AI adoption accelerates, companies are rethinking their pricing strategies, moving from flat fees to consumption-based models to maintain profitability amid rising operational costs. This shift raises questions about forecasting costs and protecting margins, as unexpected spikes in per-task billing could impact clients. Furthermore, the limitations of AI systems in self-assessing their capabilities pose challenges for trust and validation in AI outputs. With significant vulnerabilities identified in AI systems during stress tests, service providers must ensure their AI offerings are built on robust, verified systems to deliver reliable value to clients.
