James begins our new series on the Book of Revelation with an introduction focussing on Revelation 1:1-3, showing how these verses are a lens through which we can read the rest of the letter.James Harding has a PhD in the Book of Revelation and is the Director of St Mellitus College, South West, a theological college based in Plymouth.

In the final message in our JOY sermon series Steve encourages us to step out and engage those we meet with the message of Jesus.

This Sunday we had Ron Cross from Open Doors sharing with us about the joy of being part of a worldwide Church. Ron gave us a reality check on the cost of following Jesus, an encouragement that suffering and persecution can be redeemed, and he reminded us that we have a job to do as witnesses for Jesus. Open Doors is a charity that works with the persecuted church across the world. You can find out more at opendoorsuk.org.

On Giving Sunday, Adam and Sophie encourage us that giving is an act of trust, rooted in joy and an expression of worship.

Sally reminds us of the importance and joy of serving both inside and outside of the church!

Mike reminds us of the importance of and joy of community in the church - we are made to be together! We've also launched our small groups term and you can hear about some of the groups we are running at the end of this podcast.

Tim from compassion shares on Isaiah 58 and the idea of justice and explores our connection as a church with Compassion - we have a God who is concerned for the poor- how might we join in with that in our own lives.

Here is the wonderful invitation to come to the one who alone can satisfy. In him is life and love and joy. What does it mean to come to him? How does he satisfy? What does our culture suggest satisfies? Join Mike as we take a look through the great invitation in Isaiah 55

With the background of remembrance day and with wars underway around the world, this passage helps us to look forward to a completely different time. It reinforces our faith in an afterlife and in the visions of this in Revelation. How do we live now with a vision of eternity? What is our mission imperative here? Does this mean we don't need to care for our world now and can ignore environmental issues? (No!) Does this mean we don't need to respond to injustice now? (No!). Join Sophie as she explores how will live with this wonderful balance of of judgement and hope in this passage.

Isaiah prophesied the coming of a servant of God who will be anointed and blessed whilst also being rejected and killed. We read these passages as being incredibly accurate prophecies about Jesus. So this is a gospel moment! Graham takes us through the suffering servant passages from Isaiah 52

After a few tricky weeks, we refocus on the God who is omnipotent and beyond all our measures and expectations. Our response is one of awe and gratitude - worship! But also confidence that whatever life throws at us, he is strong enough and powerful enough to strengthen and empower us.Steve
