This powerful message takes us deep into Ephesians 2:1-10, reminding us of a fundamental truth we sometimes forget: we weren't saved because we were awesome—we were saved because God is awesome. The distinction between works OF righteousness versus works FOR righteousness becomes crystal clear here. We're not reading our Bibles to avoid God's wrath or serving others to earn brownie points with heaven. Instead, we're called to walk in the good works God prepared beforehand for us, motivated by love and transformation rather than fear or obligation. The beauty of this message lies in recognizing that ministry doesn't always look like full-time vocational service—it starts in our homes, at our workplaces, in the small daily opportunities we often overlook while waiting for something 'big' to happen. Like David faithfully tending sheep before facing Goliath, our faithfulness in small things prepares us for greater assignments. We're challenged to renew our minds according to Scripture, allowing the Word to transform how we see ourselves, God, and the authority we carry in Jesus' name. The call isn't to perform for acceptance—we already have the robe of righteousness, the ring of authority, and the shoes of freedom. Now it's time to actually live like the empowered children of God we truly are.
11am Series: In Christ (Ephesians) Ephesians 2:8–10
The post Genesis 6v5-7v23 Saved By Grace appeared first on Calvary Chapel Crossover.
May 31, 2026 Most people think the Gospel is about becoming a better person, but Ephesians 2 tells a much deeper story. Paul reminds us that sin doesn't just wound us, it leaves us spiritually dead and unable to save ourselves. Yet in the middle of humanity's worst news come two of the most hope-filled words in Scripture: “But God.” This message is about the God who meets us with mercy, raises us to new life through Jesus, and transforms us into His masterpiece filled with purpose and grace. About this Sermon Series: God has always had a plan. The book of Ephesians reveals the incredible story of God's plan to bring salvation to all people through Jesus Christ and unite them into one family. In this 13-week series, we'll discover what it means to live with purpose as people who have been chosen, redeemed, and called by God. Along the way, we'll explore how the Holy Spirit transforms our everyday relationships—with family, friends, the Church, and the world around us. Ephesians is an invitation to step into God's greater story and live the kind of life we were created for.
From Jericho's collapsing walls to the open gates of the New Jerusalem, this week's message in our City by City series explores a powerful question: What kind of city are we helping build?Throughout Scripture, cities are more than locations—they reveal human priorities, fears, hopes, and God's mission for people. Jericho stood behind towering walls built for protection and exclusion. But God's story ends with a very different city: a New Jerusalem with gates that never close. As we journey through Joshua 6 and Revelation 21, we discover that Jesus came not to reinforce barriers, but to tear down walls that divide and invite people into grace. In a city like Vancouver—beautiful yet often marked by loneliness, exhaustion, and spiritual hunger—followers of Jesus are called to embody hope, hospitality, and open-hearted community. What walls need to fall? How can we become a church with open gates? And how might God use us to seek the peace and flourishing of our city?Join us as we discover God's heart for cities—and His heart for Vancouver.Visit Us at oacvancouver.ca We believe that Jesus is needed and relevant for people in Vancouver today. The message of God's love and promise of wholeness was destined to be experienced within a faith community that worships, studies scripture and prays together. Your acceptance with God is not earned by your works but rests entirely on Christ's finished work on the cross. In this sermon on Galatians 3:1-14, Pastor Phil Hopper discusses how true acceptance by God comes through grace, not works. He unpacks the difference between justification and sanctification and reminds us that our faith is the only way we receive God's grace. Christ died for us to bring us justification. He lives in us to sanctify us. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus. If you struggle to find your worth in your performance, this sermon will teach you to rest in God's grace instead of striving for His approval. “Have faith in yourself.” “Have faith in the system.” “Just believe.” In today's world, faith often means optimism or manifestation—but Scripture defines faith very differently. In this episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef clears away the confusion with two essential truths. First, there is no power in faith by itself. Faith isn't a force; the object of faith is what gives it weight. If your faith is anchored in the Lord Jesus Christ and Him alone, then you stand on unshakable ground—because Christ is powerful, victorious, and trustworthy. Second, faith is not the same as feelings. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as confidence and assurance—not emotional certainty. Faith says, “God said it. I believe it. That settles it.” And to keep us from boasting in our “strong faith,” Dr. Youssef points to the deeper foundation beneath it all: even faith is God's gift. By grace, God raises believers up with Christ and saves them through faith—not by works—so all glory belongs to Jesus alone (Ephesians 2:6–9). Prayer: Father, You are the object of my faith. I rejoice knowing that my faith is not in vain because my faith is in You alone and not based on how I feel. You are always faithful and what You say will come to pass. I trust in Your Word and sovereign love. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20). What does it look like to keep rejoicing in the mind blowing reality that we've been brought from death to life? This is what we're talking about today as we get stuck into Ephesians 2:1-10 together.
Pastor Alan R. Knapp discusses the topic of "SAVED BY GRACE" in his series entitled "SHORT SERMONS (2X)" This is Short Sermon 9 and it focuses on the following verses: Psalm 3:8, 68:20, 103:1-5; Isaiah 46:10; John 3:16, 20:31; Romans 1:5, 14, 16, 6:23, 14:17,15:13; 1 Corinthians 15:22; 2 Corinthians 5:19, 8:9; Galatians 3:21; Ephesians 1:6, 11, 2:5, 8; Philippians 2:8; Hebrews 2:14-15, 5:9; 1 Timothy 2:1-4, 4:9-10; Titus 2:11, 3:4-5; 1 Peter 3:15; (Hebrews 2:3 cp Romans 5:11)
Salvation is entirely of God — by grace alone, through faith alone, for the glory of God alone. I. God's Grace A. Not by human effort B. By the sovereign, initiating grace of God alone II. God's Gift A. Grace received through faith B. Faith itself a gift of God C. Not a work of man III. God's Glory A. We are His workmanship B. Created in Christ for good works C. To the praise of His glory
What is the true gospel—and how do you know you are saved through it? In this sermon, Pastor Phil Hopper continue our series through Galatians and reminds us that Jesus plus nothing equals everything. Walking through Galatians 1, Pastor Phil unpacks Paul's bold claim that the gospel does not include works of man and gives five questions that point to the evidence of salvation in a person's life. If you're wrestling with legalism, doubt about your salvation, or confusion about the gospel, this message will help you rest in Christ alone and respond to His transforming grace. Eph 2:1-10. In our lost, fallen condition is we could have been described as walking dead men. We blindly followed this demonically governed world system with no spiritual life or connection to God. But God who was rich in mercy, made us alive together with Christ, saving us by grace through faith without works.
The Church has been saved by grace and saved for good works, all for God's glory!
My friend says the Law helps Christians live their daily lives. Is this true? Are there two kinds of sanctification? How do we grow without the Law? I have several family members who say I should convert to Catholicism. What are your thoughts?

Has “grace” lost its wonder? In this episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef challenges the modern misconceptions that have watered grace down into mere politeness—or made it unnecessary in an age of self-sufficiency and “rights.” The Truth is far more stunning: we are sinners who could never earn our way back to God. Only Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and His righteousness credited to us can justify us before the Father (see John 3:16).Dr. Youssef then brings this Gospel reality into your everyday battles. When trials hit, anxiety rises, or temptation threatens your fellowship with God, grace becomes more than a doctrine—it becomes your lifeline. Through prayer, God steadies you with peace and security, goes before you into life's battles, and provides victory that doesn't come from your strength, but from His.If you're facing pressure, fear, or exhaustion, this devotional will lift your eyes to the promise you can cling to today: God's grace is sufficient—and His power is revealed in your weakness.Scripture Focus: Psalm 20:7 The voice you hear on the MY Devotional podcast is digitally generated with Dr. Youssef's permission. In many of his letters, Paul talks about how we are saved and he is clear: Not by our works but by God's grace and His mercy. He talks about the Jews trying to convince the Gentiles they must also follow the law, including circumcision. The guy Paul is writing this letter to is a Gentile who is not circumcised which is living proof that God is moving in the lives of the uncircumcised Gentiles therefore, salvation has nothing to do with works. He tells Titus to not engage in any arguments with these people who insist on following the law, in fact, he tells Titus to warn them twice, and if they don't listen, send them on their way and have nothing to do with them.

Holiness isn't trendy. It isn't popular. And in 2026, it definitely isn't what culture is cheering for but it is what the Bible still calls us to.In this episode, we're getting real about what the Bible actually says about salvation, transformation, and living a life that honors God. We're unpacking why Scripture tells us that our hearts are strengthened by grace, not weakened by it. Why Romans reminds us that salvation is a free gift when we confess Jesus as Lord. And why belief always comes first - before behavior, before change, before growth. We're also talking about how Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever… even when culture keeps shifting the standards. And why some things don't need to be “worked through” they need to be walked away from. This is your reminder that holiness isn't outdated. Conviction isn't cruel. And obedience isn't bondage - it's freedom. In 2026, we're not dragging old habits, old mindsets, or old compromises with us. This is for the ones who love Jesus but feel the tension of living differently. For the ones tired of bending truth to fit culture. For the ones ready to stop negotiating with conviction.Belief comes first. Transformation follows. And holiness isn't outdated, it's true freedom.Go to https://betterhelp.com/hopemoquin for 10% off your first month of therapy with BetterHelp and get matched with a therapist who will listen and help #sponsoredBook a call - https://stan.store/hopemoquinINSTAGRAM- www.instagram.com/hopemoquinTIKTOK - https://www.tiktok.com/@hopemoquin
In this episode of Unlocked, Savannah Chrisley sits down with Stephen McWhirter for a conversation that's raw, honest, and unexpectedly hopeful. Stephen opens up about growing up in a complicated faith environment, walking through addiction, anger, and deep family wounds, and the long road that eventually led him to sobriety, forgiveness, and healing.Together, they talk about what it really looks like to rebuild your life when trust has been broken, faith feels confusing, and the past won't stay quiet. Stephen shares his story without sugarcoating it, from hitting rock bottom to learning that redemption doesn't always come in neat, cinematic moments. Sometimes it's awkward. Sometimes it's painful. And sometimes it's choosing forgiveness even when it feels undeserved. This episode isn't about having it all figured out. It's about grace, second chances, and the idea that healing can be a lifelong process, not a single turning point. If you've ever wrestled with faith, family, addiction, or the weight of your own story, this conversation will likely stay with you long after it ends.Don't forget to like, subscribe, and hit the notification bell to stay updated on all our latest episodes!Thank you to our sponsors for supporting our show!- QUINCE: Step into the holiday season with layers made to feel good, look polished, and last—with Quince.
