Space. The Cosmos. Infinity. 13.8 billion years ago there was nothing; or as Neil DeGrasse Tyson describes it: nothing, nothing. Until a single point, possibly smaller than an atom with unfathomable density and heat, explodes into what we know as the universe. In an instant Space, Gravity and Time were created and about 400 million years later the seemingly infinite spew of particles from this rapid expansion finally formed into stars. Then the gravity of these stars pull each other closer and then farther apart into a spinning dance of millions and millions more stars until you get a galaxy. Then hundreds to thousands of galaxies into a supercluster and then an even bigger supercluster to contain the former. Oh, yeah guys. Space is unimaginably big. In fact “big” is an understatement; and there are a lot of cool and terrifying things out there like black holes, gamma ray bursts, quasars, magnetars, pulsars and the ULTRA rare; Life. Humanity. Us. So, put on your NASA T-Shirt, grab a drink and join us on this interstellar episode… of Tipplers’ Two Cents.
Consuming human flesh is considered, by many, one of the most sacred taboo practices that can be performed by another human being. Not only is it usually followed by murder and other shameful acts, eating the flesh of one’s own species is something that very few could even possibly stomach. In some cultures, it is believed that indulging in multiple acts of cannibalism could incite a sort of transformation, both physically and spiritually. One such example of this is the legend of the Wendigo, a mythical folklore of Algonquin origin. According to these fables, the Wendigo is a wicked beast consumed by it’s desire for human flesh, and thus it stalks the forests, watching and waiting, until it’s next meal wanders into view. So what exactly could drive someone towards cannibalism? Who and what are the Wendigo and are they responsible for the disappearances of many missing people, as some claim they are? Well my friends, pour yourself a drink and join us, as we get a better taste of what we’re dealing with here in today’s mouth watering episode of Tipplers’ Two Cents.
The ancient Japanese warriors known as the Samurai were among the most skilled swordsmen to ever walk the Earth. Stoic and poised, the Samurai were also known for their intense and unwavering pursuit of honor, bravery, and discipline. As the head of the Japanese cavalry, many of Feudal Japan’s enemies became well aware of the existence of the Samurai after facing them in open battle. Conversely, the Shinobi became more well known for their subterfuge and stealth. Often referred to as Ninjas, the Shinobi were masters of assassination and sabotage while still being well versed in open arms combat. But what exactly makes a Samurai or Shinobi stick out from any other kind of ancient warrior? What was it like to live a day in the life of a Samurai or Shinobi? And what might it have been like to live during the war stricken time of Feudal Japan? Well my friends, pour yourself a drink and join us as we dissect these medieval badasses in today’s interesting episode of Tipplers’ Two Cents.
When we go to sleep at night that’s the time when our bodies and our brains recover the energy that was spent during our busy day. Many of us simply experience dreams when we sleep or maybe even a quick period of nothingness followed by a sudden burst of consciousness. But unfortunately some of us aren't so lucky. Instead there are those that are plagued by vicious unending nightmares. Nightmares so deep that they simply cannot wake. Sometimes these nightmares can be so bad or so intense that even if the person experiencing one such nightmare were to try and wake up, they would instead find themselves paralyzed, completely unable to move, and trapped inside their otherwise lifeless body. As if that wasn't bad enough, many have claimed to see some sort of evil entity lurking in the shadows as they lay paralyzed on their bed. During this time the entity has the victim completely at their mercy and they are left to helplessly watch and wait to see what this horrific figure might do to them. What I’ve just described to you is a phenomena known as Sleep Paralysis and about 4 in 10 people are bound to experience this at some point in their life. So in case you end up one of those unfortunate few and would like to know more about what to expect during a period of Sleep Paralysis then pour yourself a drink and join us as we explore this topic and more in today’s paralyzing episode of Tipplers’ Two Cents.

Today we’re going to discuss all those topics and more in this spiritually enlightening episode... of Tipplers’ Two Cents.

Earth, the only known planet in our solar system to contain life and home to the most intelligent beings in our known universe. Humans. But while we might be the smartest among our Earthbound companions, that doesn’t mean some of us...aren’t flat out stupid. And speaking of flat, there are those out there who believe the Earth we inhabit is, in fact, a flat surface instead of round. Better yet, some believe the Earth is hollow and that if you drilled your way to its core, you would find a vast open space, unoccupied by dirt or gravel like we have been led to believe. But why would these people reject the ideals that we’ve learned since our tiny minds could first retain knowledge? Why do some insist that the Earth is flat and others that it is hollow? Where do these theories come from? And why should we, the smartest beings on the planet, give these theories the time of day? Well, hunker down, pour yourself a glass and join us as we dissect two of the world’s most outlandish and, at times, foolish theories in today’s conspiracy filled episode of Tipplers’ Two Cents.

Such is the world we live in, a culmination of beauty and beasts colliding in an ever constant war on ourselves. So why do some of us feel the need to discriminate against each other based on such things like skin color, sexuality, gender, or age? What do we think needs to happen in order for the world to finally accept one another? And what can science tell us about the cause of racism, homophobia, sexism, and ageism? In today’s episode, we’re going to discuss these topics, our opinions on the matter, and address key moments in time related to such matters in this introspective episode of Tipplers’ Two Cents.

Many of us have fond memories of past events that we will sadly never get to experience again. But the beauty of life is that it is an ever changing enigma, throwing new surprises and curveballs at us with each passing day. Some of us embrace this with a sense of faith and hopefulness, while others simply wish they could go back to those moments passed or fast forward past the hardships to come. Due to the constructs of time, it is currently impossible to revisit those previous moments and impossible still to skip ahead to the future. But what if we could go back or forward in time? What would we do differently? What would we change or prevent? And what would be the consequences to those actions? Could things we change in our past still have a lingering presence in our new future? How would traveling to the future affect the past we skipped through? In today’s episode, we’re going to discuss what science can tell us about the possibilities of time travel, what the possible effects of time travelling could be, and if the worldwide phenomena known as the Mandela Effect could possibly be a result of time travel.
