AP correspondent Charles de Ledesma reports the UK is experiencing wilting heat – along with many southern European nations.
As the group continues to traverse and make their way through the dungeon, they come upon a room with a table and several steins of ale laid across it. Chantico, Dona, and Urusus are suddenly compelled to go and have a drink. Before they all make their way to do so, the rest of the party members, understanding something is amiss, do their best to wake their party members up and out of their current conditions. Dona and Chan do come to, but Ursus has a more difficult time than the women as he continues to reach for this ale. Dona and Thorak do everything to smash and destroy these temptations, but to no avail, as they magically reappear on the table and refill. When Ursus finally does take a sip of ale, he says it's the best ale he's ever had, which takes their drunk monk by surprise and makes him feel a little hurt. Upon completing his drink, the vessel was refilled and grew in size. Ursus, realizing somewhat that the party wanted to leave but was compelled to stay, lifts the giant stein glass and attempts to carry it back with him towards the exit. Which doesn't work, and a now flustered party is doing anything and everything to get one half of the Slash Brothers back to his right mind. Finally, the shifter gets his wits about him and resists the urge to keep this glass. As they venture further, they find themselves in a room made of obsidian. There is a table set for one with a book placed on top of it. As Valen goes to investigate the book and gets closer, the book flutters open with a breeze that came from nowhere. The group hears a raspy voice that begins to speak to them incorporeally. A riddle that left the group stumped for some time. They start trying to read the book and investigate it and its surroundings further, until Chantico begins to think about it more and realizes the answer is “skeletons.” As she says it out loud, the group starts to fight. After this fight, the voice reappears and begins to speak a new riddle to the group. Following the logic that this is all tied to necromancy, Valen says “zombie, probably,” which is the correct answer, and zombies then appear, triggering yet another fight. After successfully slaying the zombies, the group picks up on the notion that there are no other gimmicks other than answering the riddle, and the said creature appears for them to fight. With that information, they prepare for the voice's riddle once again. While still in wildshape as a giant hyena with a flaming mohawk, Chantico realizes the answer, but also that the group wouldn't be able to understand her. Hence, she takes some of the mess from the zombies to write out “wight,” to which Ursus replies, “A wight? What the fuck is that?” triggering the answer and the inevitable fight. They engage in another skirmish and emerge victorious. As they regain their bearings, the voice speaks to them once again. It's Dona who says the answer, which is a “lich.” Upon her saying that, the doors to the room reappear, the book and table setting disappear, and the group realizes the trial is done, but they also question if the King in Yellow is a Lich. With some discussion, they begin to realize they need to rest, and they decide that this is the best course of action before proceeding further, as well as preparing for the unknown that's yet to come. There's so much happening, and that's where we pick up…Find out what happens next in this episode of the Medusa's Cascade: Blood and Booze! As summer kicks off, much of the East Coast — including Pennsylvania — has already endured a punishing stretch of extreme temperatures, thanks to what meteorologists are calling a "heat dome." According to ABC 27 Meteorologist Dan Tomaso, the phenomenon is a classic — but intense — example of high-pressure systems trapping heat across large regions.Support WITF: https://www.witf.org/support/give-now/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

BT and Sal unleash their fury at Aaron Boone's questionable decision to bench Anthony Volpe the day after the young shortstop finally broke out of a prolonged hitless streak with a huge three-hit performance. They question the logic of adhering to a "scheduled day off" when a player is clearly finding his rhythm and confidence, arguing that such analytical rigidity undermines player development and momentum, especially for a struggling young talent. The hosts express disbelief at Boone's unwillingness to deviate from pre-planned rotations, even when it directly contradicts what's best for a player attempting to turn his season around.

Hexcloak justiciar Caoimhe Wake and her two ad hoc assistant investigators, Antistrophe Landrace and Brontë Adelvys, have their work cut out for them. First and foremost, there's the matter of these strange, flaming creatures attacking a traveling Lobble and his stagecoach full of supplies. And then there's there's the matter of Burzin, the small desert township on the horizon. After generations of simplicity and stability, the town has faced a sudden wave of inexplicable destruction as a phenomenon that can only be described as “invisible fire” has razed much of the town to ash. Will Caoimhe, Antistrophe, and Brontë find who—or what—is behind the blaze? Or will what remains of Burzin soon be burned away? This week on Perpetua: The Flames of Burzin Pt. 2 Perpetua Guide [In Progress v.02] NPCs & Monsters [PNMS] Flarie [NMFLR] Typical Traits: Curious, Fickle, Scornful, Superior Stats: DEX 8, INS 10, MIG 6, WLP 8 Attacks: Flame Dart Special Abilities: Flying, Crisis: Wildfire In-Game Description: A devious flying flame, vaguely int he shape of a fairy. Flaries are cute, but they're also dangerous, especially early on! They're ranged attackers who hover just out of melee reach, so you'll need to either hit crit them or get them down to half health with ranged or magic attacks, or hit their elemental weakness. And remember, Perpetua doesn't have water magic for some reason, and Fire often Melts Ice! Any guesses on what that leaves as a natural vulnerability? That's right: EARTH. Toss some dirt on these little jerks and you'll bring ‘em down to ground level. Starter Tip: Get ready to heal once you knock them into crisis! Their Wildfire move is devastating! Embear [NMEMB] Typical Traits: Pround, Hungry, Scorching, Territorial Stats: DEX 8, INS 8, MIG 10, WLP 6 Attacks: Flame Claw Special Abilities: Burn Back (Reaction) In-Game Description: A large, ursine figure of fire looking for something to eat. These guys are the brawn to the Flaries'... well, not quite brains, but fla(i)r, I guess? At the start of the game, they really pack a wallop, so try to keep your weaker characters away from their Flame Claw strikes. I wonder what type of bear they're supposed to be? Do any bears really live in the dessert??? Starter Tip: At first blush, their Burn Back reaction attack seems totally broken. But remember, it only hits melee attackers! Aisling Revanj (she/her) [NMAR] Traits: Ambitious, Mean Spirited, Envious, Loyal Stats: ??? Attacks: ??? Spells: ??? In-Game Descriptions: Fiery Hexcloak who oversees Burzin and the surrounding region. When I first saw concept art of her during previous, I thought she'd be one of my favorite characters, but it turns out that she's an ABSOLUTE B**! She's so superior and “holier-than-thou,” if that's the right phrase. And it's not like she solves ANYTHING, she's just always getting int he way. I cannot WAIT to fight her later on in the game. Starter Tip: You can basically button through all of her dialog, she doesn't say anything important IMO! What's up, weather warriors! Dustin Breeze here, ready to tackle today's forecast like I used to tackle quarterbacks! New York City, I've got a weather playbook that's gonna knock your socks off!First quarter forecast: We're looking at a scorcher today with temperatures climbing to a sizzling 86 degrees Fahrenheit. West winds are gonna be blowing around 18 miles per hour, with gusts up to 28 miles per hour. Talk about a weather blitz! There's a 20 percent chance of some pop-up showers and thunderstorms after 3 PM - so keep those game day umbrellas handy!Weather Playbook segment: Let's talk about wind shear! Think of wind shear like a defensive line in football - it's the change in wind speed or direction at different altitudes. Just like how a quarterback reads the defense, meteorologists read wind shear to predict storm potential. Boom! Weather science, baby!Three-day forecast, coming in hot:Saturday: Mostly sunny, high near 90 degrees FahrenheitSunday: Sunny with a heat wave, hitting 99 degrees FahrenheitMonday: Another sunny day, temperatures near 93 degrees FahrenheitAnd here's a little weather joke for you: Why did the meteorologist bring an umbrella to the football game? Because he saw a high chance of precipitation in the forecast! Ba dum tss!Special shout-out to all my New York City weather fans - stay hydrated, stay cool, and keep your sunscreen game strong! It's gonna be WIIIIILD out there, folks! Thanks for listening, for more info check out inception point dot ai. The Bernabéu has seen legends arrive, but none have ignited quite like this. Kylian Mbappé's first season at Real Madrid has been nothing short of spectacular, smashing records with a stunning 40 goals across all competitions. But how does his explosive introduction stack up against the iconic debut of Cristiano Ronaldo, the man who ushered in a new era of dominance with 33 goals in his inaugural campaign? In this episode, we dive deep into the stats, the moments, and the impact of these two Galáctico giants in their history-making first seasons. We break down Mbappé's incredible 40 goals in 44 games, his surprising assist tally, and how he immediately became the focal point of Ancelotti's attack despite a preseason scare. Then, we rewind to revisit CR7's pivotal 33 goals in 35 appearances, his進化 from winger to prolific forward, and the foundation he laid for a Real Madrid dynasty. We crunch the numbers, including their goals per game ratios and contributions in different competitions, to fuel the debate: does Mbappé's higher goal tally in a more demanding era outweigh Ronaldo's slightly better goals-per-game efficiency and the sheer force of his arrival? We'll explore the contextual factors – from fixture congestion and squad dynamics to the tactical evolution of the game – that shaped each player's debut season.Join us as we compare the unforgettable starts of two Bernabéu icons and ask the unanswerable question: whose debut season reigns supreme?Kylian Mbappé, Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid, Debut Season Stats, Goal Scoring Record, La Liga, Champions League, Football Podcast, Soccer Comparison.

We open up with the party, resting a bit, and going through their new loot. Ursus gets Thorak's thoughts on his new crown to the group. With rest had, the group continues their dungeon crawl and encounters two cave trolls as Ursus kicks down a door, and Thorak launches two spider legs, like javelins, at one of them, dealing a good bit of damage. The fight ensues with the party as the victors and the trolls as charred remains. The group takes a second to catch their breath. There is a brief discussion about which door to continue through, and Dona informs the party of the direction that her Primeval Awareness has pointed them toward, as Bob gets an urge to pull the lever in the room. Unbeknownst to the group, Bob initially informs them that he is hearing a voice urging him to pull the lever with the unknown function. The group inquires about the sources of these voices and any other information they can gather from Bob regarding them. As this is happening, he continues to walk closer to the lever and tells the party that he really would like to pull this lever. Through slightly tense and more awkward negotiations with Bob, Valen convinces him to back away, but only agrees to Bob's terms of Ursus carrying Bob out of the room, much to Ursus's displeasure. As Ursus carries Bob out the door, Thorak tells Valen that he'll throw a “javelin” at the lever. Upon a hit, they'll run like hell to the other side of the room, towards what they presume is safety. Thorak's attempt fails, but Valen decides that they both have the speed to pull the lever with a long enough rope and get to safety if needed. With the lever pulled, they hear a short, electrical burst-like sound and see nothing happen. With curiosity satisfied, they proceed west in the direction that Dona pointed them toward. The group comes upon a door that Valen has some difficulty lockpicking. As the group is stealthy, thanks to Pass Without Trace from Dona, they remain cautious of the cloakers in the area, preferring not to engage with them. As the cloaks fly away from the leading group towards Thorak, Thorak uses Thaumaturgy to open the door that Chantico and Valen were opening, unfortunately springing an acid trap in the process. As the two take damage and the group proceeds through the doorway, another group of cloakers frightens a number of the party members, and yet another battle takes place bathed in the Daylight spell from Chan's staff. While the party is victorious, they have taken some damage and are getting low on resources. As we close, the party is deciding if they wish to take the hides of the cloakers as materials, which Thorak does, and they use this chance to gather their thoughts and rest yet again before venturing further into the dungeon. There's so much happening, and that's where we pick up…Find out what happens next in this episode of the Medusa's Cascade: Blood and Booze! On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran goes over nine cornerback draft prospects he'd like to see Brandon Beane and the Buffalo Bills draft, tiered into three categories in addition to debating if the Buffalo Sabres recent hot streak is a good longer term development. It's obvious the Bills will be targeting at least one cornerback in the draft and very likely early. As things stand Dane Jackson would be in line to start alongside Christian Benford and it's hard to fathom Bills brass considering that a Plan A. Defensive tackle and edge rusher are two other primary needs and who knows when Buffalo pulls the trigger on a corner. Patrick has three groups with three prospects in each that he really likes and discusses all of them, ranging from guys the Bills could be fortunate to land at pick No. 30 all the way through a few likely early day three picks. Also, the Buffalo Sabres have caught fire, winning seven of their last eight games overall and have went 12-2 in their last 14 home games. There's a lot of things to like from what we've seen over the past month, but does it carry any significance beyond this season? Patrick makes cases for both the promising conclusion to yet another disappointing campaign having a positive long term impact versus potentially giving upper management a false sense of the realistic ceiling of this team as presently constructed.Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red's at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. We consider them THE most underrated spot for wings, pizza and other great food in Western New York plus it's a great place to drink and have a great time.♦♦♦♦♦Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's SubstackTwitter: @PatrickMoranTBBlue Sky: @PatrickMoranTB.bsky.socialInstagram: @PatrickMoranTBFacebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast
