POPULARITY
We’re saying goodbye to CDs in the spring of 2026 and going fully digital. That means longer storylines for your favorite characters. Less waiting between multi-part stories. More flexibility for fun, one-off episodes. But what about downloads? Will there still be 24 new episodes a year? Executive producer Dave Arnold and showrunner Marshal Younger join producer Bob Smithouser to answer questions about the transition.
Colette Shade [Y2K: How the 2000's Became Everything (essays on a future that never was)] joins the lads in Odyssey for some eXtreme adventures in cliques, Y2K paranoia, and the Odyssians' forever war with the people of Rakistan. Topics include Y2K aesthetics, being jumpscared by John Avery Whittaker, and what it means to have nostalgia for an optimistic techno future that never came to pass. Colette Shade: Website // Instagram // Twitter // Bluesky Y2K: How the 2000's Became Everything (essays on a future that never was) (CLICK HERE TO GET YOUR COPY!): In Y2K, one of our most brilliant young critics Colette Shade offers a darkly funny meditation on everything from the pop culture to the political economy of the period. By close reading Y2K artifacts like the Hummer H2, Smash Mouth's “All Star,” body glitter, AOL chatrooms, Total Request Live, and early internet porn, Shade produces an affectionate yet searing critique of a decade that started with a boom and ended with a crash. Join the conversation with Bob Smithouser from Adventures in Odyssey. Bob shares more about the mission of Adventures in Odyssey, the characters from Odyssey, and the world that kids have come to know for many years. In December of 2020, Adventures in Odyssey released an episode featuring ITEC and the concept of film training on a short-term trip. Bob sheds some light on what led the Adventures in Odyssey team to make an episode featuring their characters on an ITEC-like training trip abroad. The concepts of 'the power of a story' and 'everyone having a part to play in the Great Commission' come up multiple times in this encouraging podcast episode. Be sure to check out the episode and other content linked below! Mission Minded Podcast: In Matthew 28:18-20, we are commissioned by Christ to make disciples of all the nations. Living in light of this scriptural call can be challenging. Join the Mission Minded podcast and participate in discussions with mission-minded individuals that come from diverse backgrounds, working all over the world, to bring some of the challenges into the light. The ITEC team hosts special guests who tell stories, ask questions, and inspire us to use our God-given gifts to take the Gospel to our neighbors and the nations. Mission Minded Podcast is produced by ITEC. The goal of this podcast is to inspire conversations about Great Commission participation. The views, organizations, and individuals represented, interviewed, and discussed on the podcast do not necessarily represent an official position or formal partnerships with ITEC.

Three years ago, Bob Smithouser didn’t want to make waves when his boss Dave Arnold asked him to write an Odyssey script, but he felt like a fish out of water. He was green around the gills in the ways of script-writing and it was sink or swim. Over the long voyage of writing the script, Bob weathered the storm to get to final draft with the help of Phil Lollar and others to keep things on course. Don’t rock the boat as we hear the story of how that happened!
