THE FORCE AWAKENS approaches it's 10TH ANNIVERSARY! It's crazy to think it's been a decade since the first Sequel Trilogy film kick-started this new era of Star Wars. Today however, we begin our episode by talking about another anniversary of the film that began STAR WARS! STAR WARS (1977), or as it's known now A New Hope, celebrates it's 50TH ANNIVERSARY! To celebrate this gargantuan birthday, Lucasfilm has announced it will re-release the THEATRICAL CUT of the film! Since George Lucas released the Special Editions, a restored theatrical cut has been elusive. Today we discuss the expectation and excitement of experiencing this film how it originally was screened!Additionally, 2026 sees the release a of next Star Wars film since the Skywalker Saga wrapped up in 2019: THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU. While we don't have too much information about what happens in this film, a new (alleged) plot leak gives us some information to speculate on. Join us as we look forward to celebrate both the past AND future of STAR WARS!• • •TRIAD Of The FORCE is a STAR WARS+ podcast hosted by Gus, Nani, & Chase—Puerto Rican and queer creators sharing deep dives, and heartfelt conversations from a galaxy far, far away. Ten years ago this month, Petr Jasek traveled to Sudan on behalf of The Voice of the Martyrs to meet with and encourage Sudanese Christians. At the airport on his way out of the country, Petr was arrested and later sentenced to life in prison. His first prison cellmates were ISIS fighters—men who hated Christians and quickly began to persecute Petr. Petr Jasek spent 445 days in Sudanese custody. Listen this week as Petr shares about his first night in a jail cell, how God uniquely prepared him with a dream and how he discovered that his cellmates were radical Muslim ISIS fighters. In prison, Petr felt the Lord's presence very near as—once he received a Bible—he spent hours every day reading the Bible and praying. In Petr's lowest moments, God brought to his mind the names and faces of other persecuted Christians—men and women Petr had met during his years overseeing VOM's work in Africa. He began to pray for other persecuted believers and his spirit lifted as his focus changed from his own difficulties to praying for other Christians. The story of Petr's imprisonment—and the ministry God allowed him inside—is told in his book, Imprisoned with ISIS: Faith in the Face of Evil. Days after returning home, Petr sat down with VOM Radio to share his story and thank the thousands of people who prayed for him and his Sudanese co-defendants during his long months in prison. To hear Petr share the entire story of his arrest, imprisonment, and eventual release, go to www.vomradio.net/petr. This interview was recorded during the VOM National Conference in Bartlesville, OK, where Petr shared how his time in prison and the lessons he learned there still impact him ten years later. To view a video version of Petr's interview, go to VOM's YouTube channel. The VOM App for your smartphone or tablet will help you pray daily for persecuted Christians in nations like North Korea, Nigeria and Bangladesh, as well as provide free access to e-books, audiobooks, video content and feature films. Download the VOM App for your iOS or Android device today.

This week we are giving a cheers to ten years! Join us as we celebrate the anniversary of the Old Smyrna Firehouse (InObscuria and Captain Content HQ). We get the inside scoop from the man himself on how this relic of a building was brought back to life to all of its firehouse glory and beyond. Oh, and it's where we record the show every week! We celebrate by listening to songs that will get you fired up and leave you with a burning sensation! What is it we do here at InObscuria? Robert is forced to test his endurance and provide feedback, as he has no idea what he will be subjected to every week. Ten years ago, on October 26, 2015, something special began in Japan. While working at the University of Tokyo, I launched the first episode of the FreshEd podcast, marking the start of what would become a cornerstone of conversations in comparative and international education. Over the past decade, FreshEd has grown into a global platform – far larger than I ever imaged -- connecting listeners interested in education, equity, and social change. We've made over 400 episodes in that time. We've counted 200 universities that use our content and we have listeners, like you, in over 180 countries. To celebrate our anniversary, we held a live event at Tohoku University in Sendai, Japan as part of the 2025 International Education Development Forum. I've like to thank Dr. Jing Liu for co-organizing this event. Joining me on stage were Professors Iveta Silova and Yuto Kitamura, who are both board members of FreshEd. In our conversation, we take you behind the scenes of FreshEd's development and reflect on what the podcast means for the wider field specifically and higher education generally. On a personal note, Iveta and Yuto are both mentors who have shaped my own career as an academic. So today we'll air the conversation we had in Tohoku on October 18. I hope you enjoy the show and here's to the second decade of FreshEd. https://freshedpodcast.com/10years/ -- Get in touch! Twitter: @FreshEdpodcast Facebook: FreshEd Email: info@freshedpodcast.com

Set in post Civil War America, a stagecoach hurtles through the wintry Wyoming landscape. The passengers, John the Hangman Ruth, a notorious bounty hunter and his fugitive, Daisy Domergue, race towards the town of Red Rock where justices awaits Daisy at the end of a hangman's rope. Along the road they encounter two strangers, Major Marquis Warren, a black former Union soldier turned infamous bounty hunter and Chris Mannix, a southern renegade who claims to be the new sheriff of Red Rock. As the storm overtakes the mountain, our eight travelers come to learn they may not make it to Red Rock after all. After last week's episode on Apollo 13 we decided to double up on space mission movies that don't go as planned, and break down the 2015 Ridley Scott film, The Martian. This is one of those movies that we've seen many times over the last 10 years, it is very rewatchable and it was very enjoyable spending some time chatting about it. Enjoy!

We're rereleasing Bald Move's coverage of The Martian (2015) in honor of the film's 10th anniversary! Check out the Matt Damon poster photos here! Jim and A.Ron saw Ridley Scott's "The Martian" last night, starring Matt Damon, and have a lot to say about it. Note, the first part of the podcast is spoiler free, but then when we say we're about to spoil things, that's your cue to get out while the getting is good. Along the way, we talk about the trailers we saw for The Revenant, The Big Short, Joy, and Concussion. If you are still hungry for more Martian goodness, might I recommend reading Andy Weir's original book (The Martian) the film is based on? I got back from a quick trip in Spain where I had to wait for tables but didn't have a care in the world (until I realized I lost another item on the flight home.)Then, John finally found an apartment in NYC, so we're counting down the days until we're same-coast friendly again. Plus, I got another DM from David Beckham and Helvetica returned to report on some news.
