Amazingly, this channel turned 10 years old this week! Dan Bardell, Dan Rolinson and Matt Lynch reunite to talk about the channel's Inception, the early days and the change from fan media to actually working in the media, as well as the rebrand to "1874".
Costarring Errick Greenlee, Michael Lamerique & Marcus RobinsonOn January 8, 2016, I released the first episode of Hyphen Nation. Recorded from the parking lot of a local Morgantown Kroger with a laptop and a headset mic, never did I dream that my little podcast would be at 200+ episodes and still active 10 years later but here we are!To celebrate, I recruited the Brain Trust aka the Diamond Dogs Handsome Bane, Lam, and Marc Rob to celebrate with me. In the first half, we talk about Will Smith's career taking it's downturn, how no one has replaced Twitter despite multiple efforts, relive some 2016 things, and many more alleys and detours. In the back half, Handsome Bane carved out some time so he could still contribute more than just a visit, and we talk about the death of Hulk Hogan, where he's finding joy in professional wrestling these days, and God.Here's to another 10 years? Maybe? Who knows. Thanks y'all.IMPORTANT LISTENING INFO: I apologize for the quality of my microphone in the second half. I hooked my condenser mic up to Zoom and even after all these years, they don't like each other.
OLD-TIME RADIO ESSENTIALS Ep 55.5 -- 10th Anniversary of Mickey Mouse Co-hosts Pete, Paul and Patte divert from their usual format to bring you this diversion -- a standalone production from 1938 that honors Walt Disney on the 10th anniversary of the very first Mickey Mouse cartoon. Discovered by OTR aficionado John Tefteller in his vast collection of acetate (and other) recordings, he released it on Thanksgiving Day 2025 on his own podcast, The Good Old Days of Radio, thus letting listeners hear it for the first time (probably) since its first release 88 years ago. Mr. Tefteller has graciously allowed us to re-re-release it, since our listeners and his likely follow parallel lines, thus allowing more folks to enjoy it. The three co-hosts are not judging it by their usual criteria (see previous episodes), merely bringing it to you for your entertainment. If you like OTR Essentials and have a suggestion for a future series we should discuss, please write us at our NEW email address: themoonlightaudiopodcast@gmail.com! If we take your suggestion, you'll be eligible for some cool Narada and Moonlight swag.

How has motorcycle travel changed over the past ten years — not just the gear and tech, but how does constant exposure to other riders' trips and highlight reels reshape our motivation? Comparison is everywhere now, whether we want it or not, and it has a way of steering our travel choices without us noticing. The panel reflects on what first sparked their desire to travel, how that spark has evolved, and how to stay grounded in their own reasons for riding instead of chasing outside influence.Listener Question from Briah Grohs: For your 10th anniversary show of RAW, ask each member of the panel what stands out in their mind that they learned from being on the show.

There has been an awakening... Have you felt it?Star Wars: Episode VII – THE FORCE AWAKENS celebrates it's 10th anniversary! It's been TEN YEARS since the Disney-era of Star Wars got kick-started with the Sequel Trilogy, giving us so many amazing new stories. It is only fitting that we revisit this special film that introduced us to new characters like Rey, Finn, Poe, and of course, Kylo Ren/Ben Solo. Does this film hold up ten years later? Was it a worthy way to honor the Original Trilogy and kick start this new era?Today we reminisce on the time leading to this film and the joy and positivity the journey to The Force Awakens generated. We'll always be grateful for this film and time in Star Wars fandom for reigniting our love for this franchise and starting our towards TRIAD Of The FORCE!• • •TRIAD Of The FORCE is a STAR WARS+ podcast hosted by Gus, Nani, & Chase—Puerto Rican and queer creators sharing deep dives, and heartfelt conversations from a galaxy far, far away. THE FORCE AWAKENS approaches it's 10TH ANNIVERSARY! It's crazy to think it's been a decade since the first Sequel Trilogy film kick-started this new era of Star Wars. Today however, we begin our episode by talking about another anniversary of the film that began STAR WARS! STAR WARS (1977), or as it's known now A New Hope, celebrates it's 50TH ANNIVERSARY! To celebrate this gargantuan birthday, Lucasfilm has announced it will re-release the THEATRICAL CUT of the film! Since George Lucas released the Special Editions, a restored theatrical cut has been elusive. Today we discuss the expectation and excitement of experiencing this film how it originally was screened!Additionally, 2026 sees the release a of next Star Wars film since the Skywalker Saga wrapped up in 2019: THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU. While we don't have too much information about what happens in this film, a new (alleged) plot leak gives us some information to speculate on. Join us as we look forward to celebrate both the past AND future of STAR WARS!• • •TRIAD Of The FORCE is a STAR WARS+ podcast hosted by Gus, Nani, & Chase—Puerto Rican and queer creators sharing deep dives, and heartfelt conversations from a galaxy far, far away. Ten years ago this month, Petr Jasek traveled to Sudan on behalf of The Voice of the Martyrs to meet with and encourage Sudanese Christians. At the airport on his way out of the country, Petr was arrested and later sentenced to life in prison. His first prison cellmates were ISIS fighters—men who hated Christians and quickly began to persecute Petr. Petr Jasek spent 445 days in Sudanese custody. Listen this week as Petr shares about his first night in a jail cell, how God uniquely prepared him with a dream and how he discovered that his cellmates were radical Muslim ISIS fighters. In prison, Petr felt the Lord's presence very near as—once he received a Bible—he spent hours every day reading the Bible and praying. In Petr's lowest moments, God brought to his mind the names and faces of other persecuted Christians—men and women Petr had met during his years overseeing VOM's work in Africa. He began to pray for other persecuted believers and his spirit lifted as his focus changed from his own difficulties to praying for other Christians. The story of Petr's imprisonment—and the ministry God allowed him inside—is told in his book, Imprisoned with ISIS: Faith in the Face of Evil. Days after returning home, Petr sat down with VOM Radio to share his story and thank the thousands of people who prayed for him and his Sudanese co-defendants during his long months in prison. To hear Petr share the entire story of his arrest, imprisonment, and eventual release, go to www.vomradio.net/petr. This interview was recorded during the VOM National Conference in Bartlesville, OK, where Petr shared how his time in prison and the lessons he learned there still impact him ten years later. To view a video version of Petr's interview, go to VOM's YouTube channel. The VOM App for your smartphone or tablet will help you pray daily for persecuted Christians in nations like North Korea, Nigeria and Bangladesh, as well as provide free access to e-books, audiobooks, video content and feature films. This week we are giving a cheers to ten years! Join us as we celebrate the anniversary of the Old Smyrna Firehouse (InObscuria and Captain Content HQ). We get the inside scoop from the man himself on how this relic of a building was brought back to life to all of its firehouse glory and beyond. The building is not only Robert's home, but it is also an exhibit within the community and is utilized for private events, weddings, photoshoots, TV commercials, and feature-length films. Oh, and it's where we record the show every week! We celebrate by listening to songs that will get you fired up and leave you with a burning sensation! What is it we do here at InObscuria? Every show, Kevin opens the crypt to exhume and dissect from his personal collection an artist, album, or collection of tunes from the broad spectrum of rock, punk, and metal. Robert is forced to test his endurance and provide feedback, as he has no idea what he will be subjected to every week. We hope that we turn you on to something that was lost on your ears, or something you've simply forgotten about, or that (in our opinion) should have been the next big thing.Songs this week include:Warrior Soul – “Firehouse” from Cocaine & Other Good Stuff (2020)Mother's Finest – “Fire” from Mother's Finest (1976)The Front – “Fire” from The Front (1989)Mind Funk – “Fire” from Mind Funk (1991)The Music – “Fire” from Strength In Numbers (2008)Torche – “Fire” from Torche (2005)Bruce Dickinson – “Fire” from Balls To Picasso (1994)Ozzy Osbourne – “Fire” from Under Cover (2005)Visit us: https://inobscuria.com/https://www.facebook.com/InObscuriahttps://www.instagram.com/inobscuria/https://x.com/inobscuriahttps://www.instagram.com/inobscuria/Buy cool stuff with our logo on it: InObscuria StoreIf you'd like to check out Kevin's band THE SWEAR, take a listen on all streaming services or pick up a digital copy of their latest release here: https://theswear.bandcamp.com/If you want to hear Robert and Kevin's band from the late 90s – early 00s BIG JACK PNEUMATIC, check it out here: https://bigjackpnuematic.bandcamp.com/Check out Robert's amazing fire sculptures and metal workings here: http://flamewerx.com/

Ten years ago, on October 26, 2015, something special began in Japan. While working at the University of Tokyo, I launched the first episode of the FreshEd podcast, marking the start of what would become a cornerstone of conversations in comparative and international education. Over the past decade, FreshEd has grown into a global platform – far larger than I ever imaged -- connecting listeners interested in education, equity, and social change. We've made over 400 episodes in that time. We've counted 200 universities that use our content and we have listeners, like you, in over 180 countries. To celebrate our anniversary, we held a live event at Tohoku University in Sendai, Japan as part of the 2025 International Education Development Forum. I've like to thank Dr. Jing Liu for co-organizing this event. Joining me on stage were Professors Iveta Silova and Yuto Kitamura, who are both board members of FreshEd. In our conversation, we take you behind the scenes of FreshEd's development and reflect on what the podcast means for the wider field specifically and higher education generally. On a personal note, Iveta and Yuto are both mentors who have shaped my own career as an academic. So today we'll air the conversation we had in Tohoku on October 18. I hope you enjoy the show and here's to the second decade of FreshEd. https://freshedpodcast.com/10years/ -- Get in touch! Twitter: @FreshEdpodcast Facebook: FreshEd Email: info@freshedpodcast.com
