Is this an emotional roller coaster! Morgan related the tale of being asked to do a set at a female empowerment festival headlined by that famous female band…Smashmouth? It's a story about how you can do everything right as a comic and still everything goes exceedingly wrong. She and Dan also talk about comedy classes, the fact that someone is ALWAYS listening, when to say no, and how important that is, and this delicate art form.Morgan GalloMorgan is a Denver-based comedian, dancer, and actress. Send us a textOn this episode of the Midwest Mixtape Podcast, Rogers Stevens of Blind Melon joins us for an in-depth conversation about the band's past, present, and future. Rogers reflects on Blind Melon's upcoming performance at the Pig and Whiskey Festival in St. Louis on Friday, May 9, where they'll be sharing the stage with Smash Mouth, and also looks ahead to a major milestone: the band's first-ever show at Red Rocks while supporting O.A.R. Rogers shares stories from Blind Melon's early days, including their struggles to break through, the cultural phenomenon of “No Rain,” and the bittersweet reality of being labeled a "one-hit wonder." He opens up about pivotal moments in the band's journey, from navigating the music industry's highs and lows to overcoming the tragedy of losing their iconic frontman, Shannon Hoon—a gifted songwriter whose legacy still shapes the band's music and message today. We also dive into Blind Melon's evolution, their move to New Orleans, and how the city's jazz scene—including artists like Kermit Ruffins and Rebirth Brass Band—inspired tracks like “Lemonade.” Rogers gives insight into the meaning behind songs like “Skinned,” and how the band blends upbeat melodies with deeper, sometimes darker, lyrical themes. This is a must-watch for fans of Blind Melon, 90s alt-rock, and those curious about the resilience and reinvention of one of rock's most unique and heartfelt bands.

We start off talking about one of the seasons of a show about a cowboy named Shania Twain, we reminisce about Renee's obsession with a show about sexy vampires, Katie tells us all about a show about people eating each other, Edward has a stupid raccoon update, we discuss length, girth and the future calendar and discover a long lost family relationship. Edward directs us to game time right away for this week's 'long one' and since Renee loves the 1990's we all talk about our favorite music videos from the 1990's! Eric Valentine's journey into music started with a $50 drum set from a garage sale and drum lessons at age nine. By 12, he was experimenting with home recordings, and by high school, he had a 4-track recorder and was recording local musicians. At 17, he and a friend launched a 16-track studio in a garage, advertising $10 per hour for recording sessions—marking the start of his professional career. His big break came when his band, T-Ride, signed with Hollywood Records under the condition that he produce and engineer their album. Instead of renting an expensive studio, he upgraded their own space, investing in high-end gear. Though the band didn't achieve major success, it led Eric to focus on producing local artists. Over the next few years, he worked with rapper Paris, recorded Joe Satriani, and ultimately helped launch the careers of Smash Mouth and Third Eye Blind. He co-produced Third Eye Blind's debut album and took a DIY approach with Smash Mouth, finishing their album before they even had a deal—leading to their signing with Interscope just days after mastering. With multiple hit records under his belt, Eric relocated from the Bay Area to Los Angeles, closing his legendary “H.O.S.” Studios to establish Barefoot Recording. There, he produced major albums for Queens of the Stone Age, Good Charlotte, Taking Back Sunday, Maroon 5, Slash, and Gwen Stefani, accumulating nearly 65 million album sales worldwide. In 2010, he expanded into recording equipment design, launching Undertone Audio to create high-end studio gear, including a Class A console with a revolutionary EQ.Most recently, Eric moved his studio setup to Vermont, where he spent four years building a state-of-the-art 10,000-square-foot recording facility. Now settled in, he's focusing on his latest passion: The Audionaut Institute, an educational platform where audio enthusiasts can explore the art of recording and production.IN THIS EPISODE YOU'LL LEARN:Learning on your own vs. having a mentorWorking with Queens Of The Stone Age, Good Charlotte, and Third Eye BlindEstablishing the vision of a projectHow he gets big, natural-sounding drumsUsing minimal micing techniquesHow to tune drums to the key of a songThe beauty of imperfectionArranging your tracks so they practically EQ themselvesMaking extreme mix movesCreating movement, energy, and width in a mixTips for getting the low-end rightHis delay trick for controlling low-end headroomTo learn more about Eric visit: https://www.audionautinstitute.com/mrwevLooking for 1-on-1 feedback and training to help you create pro-quality mixes?Check out my coaching program Amplitude and apply to join:https://masteryourmix.com/amplitude/ Want additional help with your music productions? For tips on how to improve your mixes, visit: https://masteryourmix.com/ Download your FREE copy of the Ultimate Mixing Blueprint: https://masteryourmix.com/blueprint/ Get your copy of my Amazon #1 bestselling books:The Recording Mindset: A Step-By-Step Guide to Creating Pro Recordings From Your Home Studio: https://therecordingmindset.com The Mixing Mindset: The Step-By-Step Formula For Creating Professional Rock Mixes From Your Home Studio:

Send us a textSmash Mouth's Zach Goode's John Lennon Story, And Covering Beatles In New Single#smashmouth #beatles #covertunes #beatles #newmusic #johnlennon #punkrock Pop Punk All-Stars Smash Mouth's “Love Me Do” is a Beatles cover deluxe! When Smash Mouth formed in San Jose in 1994, although nobody gave it much thought at the time, it was 32 years since the Beatles released their first British single, “Love Me Do,” in October 1962. Now, 30 further years have elapsed, and the circle is closed as the SoCal punk party legends release their own version of that epochal Lennon-McCartney composition. Recorded for a forthcoming punk Beatles tribute album, “Love Me Do” is the latest in a very select line of classic covers that Smash Mouth have released over the years - their version of the Monkees' “I'm A Believer” remains a breathless delight, alongside a tremendous take on Rick Astley's “Never Gonna Give You Up” and, last year, the Brady Bunch's “Sunshine Day,” featuring none less than Greg Brady. This is not their first go-round with the Beatles, either - back in 2005, they tackled the Fabs' “Getting Better.” “Love Me Do,” however, is special. Bassist and founder member Paul DeLisle says, “Of course Smash Mouth are all massive Beatles fans, and it's such a huge honor to release this single. We were all super stoked to cover “Love Me Do” because we saw an opportunity to give a very different treatment to the Beatles' very first top 20 hit. “I personally hope people will hear the excitement and loving care we put into this recording. I'm pretty sure they will.” SINGLE: https://orcd.co/smashmouth_lovemedoWebsite: https://www.smashmouth.com/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/smashmouthInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/smashmouthofficial/X: https://twitter.com/smashmouthYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/user/SmashMouthVEVOZach Goode: https://www.zachgoode.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dividedbyzachFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/Zachary.Goode/X: https://x.com/dividedbyzachYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/user/dividedbyzachThanks for tuning in, please be sure to click that subscribe button and give this a thumbs up!!Email: thevibesbroadcast@gmail.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/listen_to_the_vibes_/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thevibesbroadcastnetworkLinktree: https://linktr.ee/the_vibes_broadcastTikTok: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMeuTVRv2/Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheVibesBrdcstTruth: https://truthsocial.com/@KoyoteFor all our social media and other links, go to: Linktree: https://linktr.ee/the_vibes_broadcastPlease subscribe, like, and share!

Giddy up for a fun episode that touches all the right topics to get your noddle going. How can we manage a fast-paced world that seems to increasingly change from what we've become used to? What changes when someone has immense wealth, or when someone is homeless? Both living completely different lives outside of the norm of anyone listening to this. We explore the ethical dilemmas in our current global world, and perhaps have a way of being considerate without being a luddite. Humans have changed constantly, and this conversation is all about how two dudes think about changing with it. Complete with a moody rendition of Smash Mouth's epic hit, “Hey now you're an all star” at the end. With me in this conversation is David Benjamin, otherwise known as Dudetunes. A Recording Artist - Songwriter - Performer, and co-owner of Black Sheep Makery, a bomb drink purveyor of all things coffee, tea and lemonades with infused flavorings. We're taking a quick break from the spooky this week as we review Mystery Men, the 1999 super hero parody starring Ben Stiller, William H. Macy, and Paul Reubens. Champion City is once again in peril, mostly caused by it's greatest hero Captain Amazing. It's now up to a rag-tag team of lesser known super heroes to save the city they love.Support the showCatch new episodes of the Where to Stick It Podcast every Tuesday and Thursday. What happens when two experimental music veterans go full Smashmouth? Callahan and Witscher's new album Think Differently answers just that-full of wry introspection on the conditions of music, it's value, and despite misreads by music journalists as being "irony poisoned"-comes across as uniquely sincere in a way most things don't. We talk about the album, what is the value of a critique? flexing on critics with pure musical chops, nu-fluxus, low-brow messaging, the rise of "tastecels", the value of humor, sleeping on floors and slogging it out on the road, why you can't stop creating, destroying your life, going to shows you don't want to, Fairport Convention, and attempt to answer the question: "What is the value of music?" Adam opens the show with Mike Dawson sitting in for the news. They discuss how modern technology has somehow not put an end to “lore.” Then they cover stories that include a favorable ruling for Alec Baldwin in his fatal shooting lawsuit, Rob Reiner tweeting for Joe Biden to step down and new garbage cans for New York City. Next, Adam is joined by members of the band Smash Mouth, Paul De Lisle & Zach Goode. They talk about KROQ being pivotal in helping the band break, the death of their former lead-singer, Steve Harwell, and their current tour & new singles. Then, Dave Rubin returns to the show and they recap a star-studded dinner they attended last night, which included Adam splitting a potato with billionaire David Sacks. They also discuss Gavin Newsom's ruining of California, Joe Biden's obvious decline and the media's tendency to lie about things Trump said, despite video evidence to the contrary. They wrap-up by discussing what the country could look like after the 2024 election if Trump wins.
