Growth Hacker Marketing: A Primer on the Future of PR, Marketing and Advertising Kindle Edition by Ryan Holidayhttps://amzn.to/3dx1SM3It maybe fairly old by this point (8 years at time of writing) but by no means is this book out of date. When I was in tech start up world, this was my bible. If you've got a marketing budget of closer to zero than squillions, how are you supposed to create a movement around your product or service? How can you get to your first thousand - or million - clients? Although written with SaaS founders in mind, I strongly believe there is something here for every person with marketing in their remit.Clients From Hell: A collection of anonymously-contributed client horror stories from designers by Anonymoushttps://amzn.to/3iR6aisA cult phenomenon among those who work in graphic, print and web design — and those lucky enough to have discovered the namesake blog — Clients From Hell has been bringing readers to tears with its unbelievable and always hilarious anecdotes from the twenty and thirty-somethings on the frontlines of design. It'll help you realise which clients to appreciate, and which you should probably shed for your own good. The Boron Letters by Gary Halberthttps://amzn.to/2IoofYtSeries of letters written by copywriting legend Gary C. Halbert explaining the secrets to effect marketing. This is a timeless classic that holds true even though the thoughts were penned as far back as 1984. Fewer people appreciate the power of words than Gary, and it all holds true today. If words are part of your service, this is a must-read.ReWork: Change the Way You Work Forever by Jason Friedhttps://amzn.to/3dr8oEfThis has been on my repeated reading list since 2017, but it has never felt more poignant and relevant than following the disruption to the way we work, due to Covid. From the founders of the trailblazing software company 37signals (the people behind Basecamp and more) here is a different kind of business book - one that explores a new reality and way of working. Essential reading for anyone who wants to make lean, remote working a long term part of their business set up.
2022 is a CRAZY year for social media! To talk about this, I’ve invited a very special person - a great friend of mine, and probably the best copywriter I know… the awesome Charley Valher
The Raw Truth About Copywriting Bond Halbert, BondHalbert.com – The Sharkpreneur podcast with Kevin Harrington and Seth Greene Episode 762 Bond Halbert Because of the book The Boron Letters, it's well documented that Bond Halbert was given the most thorough education in direct marketing history directly from his father Gary C. Halbert but... Bond has continued the family tradition of creating marketing breakthroughs and showing professional copywriters how to write copy which brings in more sales. Most recently, Bond published the very first book ever written on editing sales copy which many copywriters labeled an instant classic because it's written in that characteristic Halbert style of being simple yet highly effective way of showing copywriters how to keep a prospect's attention. After copychiefing some of the largest financial promotions of our time, Bond pioneered many tactics for getting the highest email open rates in any industry. After he passed away Bond and his brother Kevin took ownership of TheGaryHalbertLetter.com which is experiencing it's largest growth spurt which Bond freely admits is built upon his father's legacy. Along with his brother Kevin, Bond continues to put out the very best copywriting and other direct marketing related products the industry has to offer, including the now famous Halbert All-Star Audio Series, The Halbert Memorial event and updated versions of his father's famous books Max Money and The Boron Letters. The brothers also started the now super popular Gary Halbert Copy Club on Facebook Listen to this illuminating Sharkpreneur episode with Bond Halbert about the raw truth about copywriting. If you are unfamiliar with Gary Halbert, you are in for a treat. This guy is my favorite marketing instructor on the subjects of direct mail and how to write killer advertising copy. He delivers marketing information in a powerful style, without all the BS. Gary's pre-1994 material is hard to find. Jay Abraham has done several joint ventures with Gary so I have run across a lot of his work. Go to my Products page to see which Gary Halbert programs I have available. How much would you pay to attend a Gary Halbert seminar? Here is a recording from a Group M Marketing seminar in Hot Springs, Arkansas, put on by Bill Myers in the early 1990s. This is an exclusive interview from Michael Senoff at www.hardtofindseminars.com.
