Zilliant Vice President of Customer Success Nathan Rabold returns for his second guest appearance on the podcast, this time going deep on a topic near and dear to his team's work: effective change management.   Sometimes overlooked, this foundational process makes the difference between success and disappointment for any major B2B commercial transformation. Years of pricing and sales implementations have honed the Zilliant approach to change management, and Nathan explains each of Zilliant's eight drivers of benefit that are crucial to each project.   Listen to learn why getting organizational change right is particularly important given the recent market turmoil caused by tariffs, COVID-19, inflation and supply chain disruption.   Watch Nathan's on-demand webinar: “Accelerating Value with Effective Change Management” Register for MindShare Europe   www.zilliant.com/podcasts

Seth Kahan is an executive strategy advisor on change and innovation who works with senior leaders and association executives. He is also the author of four books including business bestseller, Getting Change Right. Taking time for solo thinking is a habit we encourage all leaders to incorporate into their lives because if you're not pouring into yourself, then who is pouring into you? And if you're coming from a place of emptiness, how can you lead others with energy and enthusiasm? For Seth, solo thinking time happens while camping "off the grid" where he retreats when he feels the need to think clearly without the demands of everyday life. For Mary, it's not quite so primitive and might be a cabin on a lake or a retreat center. For both, however, the benefits of checking in with themselves outside all of their different daily roles is a way to reconnect and refocus on what is most important. Solo thinking time doesn't have to be camping in the wilderness or a week away at a cabin. It can be one day or half a day or even an hour. The benefits and return on investment can still be profound. What are the benefits of taking intentional time away? How can you create rituals to start and end your thinking time or retreat? How can you set aside solo thinking time and stick to it? Why is it even more important for solo thinking time when you're too busy or overwhelmed? It's easy to be busy, but not necessarily busy doing the right things -- the things that really matter and make a difference. Listen in and learn how to fill yourself up! Leading Learning - The Show for Leaders in the Business of Lifelong Learning, Continuing Education, and Professional Develop

Seth Kahan is founder of the consulting firm, Visionary Leadership and author of  the business bestsellers, Getting Change Right, Getting Innovation Right, and, most recently, Visionary Leadership: How Association Leaders Embrace Disruption in the 21st Century . He's worked with leaders of large multinational organizations and over a hundred association CEOs. Some of his most exciting work with those CEOs involves Grand Challenges—big, bold goals that organizations take on, partnering with others to make a difference with problems that society has thus far not been able to resolve. And learning how to navigate the major disruptors we’ve seen unfold in 2020 related to the pandemic, politics, social issues, and our economic situation, have certainly created a new set of related challenges for organizations, particularly for those of us in the learning business. In this second episode in our seven-episode series on the learning business in disruptive times, Jeff talks to Seth about how organizations have responded and evolved due to recent circumstances surrounding not only the coronavirus pandemic, but to other major disruptors such as climate change and racial injustice. They also discuss Seth’s 100 CEOs and 100 Days initiative, the various resources he’s created to help organizations in this time of crisis, and the lasting – and in some cases, positive – impact that all of this will potentially have on society. Seth Kahan                   Successful Change Requires Listening and Storytelling It seems to be hard wired in the human condition to dislike change. Some of us are more welcoming of it than others, and when you are in management you can really feel the push-back from those desperately wanting to avoid it. Why does this happen and is there any way around it? It happens because far too often we as leaders are more interested in presenting the strong case of why it needs to happen, trying to convince that it is for their good, rather than pausing for a moment and just listening. Remember when we used to have true conversations and tried to understand through someone else’s eyes? That just may be a good idea today if you want to execute successful change. While you’re at it, if you can perfect your storytelling abilities, you may have found a strong combo to support the upcoming change initiative. This podcast will provide insights on executing successful change, and you’ll get a bonus discussion about innovation, the key ingredient to successful innovation and how to understand the trends and create disruption in the marketplace.
