The last Academy episode of the year is an unconventional and special one with my good friend, brother and three-time Academy alumni — Jim Steg. Jim is a business owner, father, entrepreneur and all around badass who inspires me every single day. Originally, I thought to myself — I’m going to sit down and create a one-hour episode to share my top lessons from 2017. But then I thought to myself: who could I bring on that would create an engaging, fun conversation where we both shared out lessons? And that’s when Jim immediately came to mind. In this free-flowing episode, you’ll learn our top lessons from the year, the wins, challenges, mindsets, breakthroughs, breakdowns and everything in between. You'll hear how we think, the language we use and even how we challenge one another. NOTE: This is a conversation we would have at lunch or hiking — and it is absolutely uncensored. LIKED WHAT YOU HEARD? We'd love a review of the Academy, and you'll be entered to win a free copy of UnResolution. Here's how: 1. Open up the podcast app on your iTunes or iOs. 2. Search 'Resist Average Academy.' 3. Subscribe, then click 'Write A Review.' 4. Tell us why you love our content, and you're done! 5. Your review will post within 24-48 hours. “You Are Who You Repeatedly Think You Are”~~Jim Steg Some people have it all, right?! The right careers or business. The beautiful family. The portrayal of the ‘perfect life'. But there are the truths that lie behind the doors of one's life which many forget to consider when judging from the outside. Jim Steg of Steg Custom Homes in AZ is an amazing story teller as he shares his experiences with our audience, before sharing his “Four Pillars”  which guide his daily actions. From being the adventurous soul through Ironmans, Triathlons, Bull Riding, to his internal/external journey of completing Sealfits Kokoro…..Jim shares a period of his life in which something inside was missing. It isn't until we can fill the voids or holes that lie within, that our external worlds begin to match our desired visions, as Jim had to do. Fear. Anger. Negative Ambition. Control. No Ownership…….these are just a few words Steg used to describe his dark period of his life. But there is always light ahead of us, if we choose to look forward! There is always something that is greater than us when we choose to allow ourselves to be vulnerable. As Jim had shared as one of his pillars……”We Can't Do It Alone”! Be sure to follow Jim On Facebook as well as on YouTube. As shared in the episode, here is a video on Jim's Story based upon his journey and transformation. You can also reach out to him personally at Jim@stegcustomhomes.com and take a look at his services at Steg Custom Homes! Jim Steg and Brandon James Duncan, two former guests join us on this special episode of the Resist Average Academy to reveal the lessons learned coming fresh from an intense, deep, spiritual experience called Kokoro put on my Seal Fit and Mark Divine.   We wanted to create this episode to reveal to the listeners how what we do physically can allow us to learn about ourselves in a deeper, more powerful way and how to avoid the life of comfort and security and instead chase the impossible.    Sit back and listen to this powerful content and see what you may apply from it. It doesn’t mean you have to sign up for something crazy, but maybe you decide to sign up for a 5K or 10K, competition or adventure race to further fuel your fitness and training goals.   To learn more about SealFit, visit www.SealFit.com. As a result of this experience, I have signed up for Kokoro in April 2017 and will be detailing my journey on social media.
