This week on the SyrupCast, Igor Bonifacic, Rose Behar, Sameer Chhabra, and Patrick O'Rourke do their best to predict what will be unveiled at Apple's upcoming event. Apple's iPhone 8 keynote is coming up soon on September 12th, so the team sits down and does their best to predict all the announcements they expect to see at the keynote. It's anticipated that there will be a few new iPhones, a 4K Apple TV set-top box, and possibly a new LTE Apple Watch as well. This week also marks a SyrupCast milestone -- our first audio listener question! Tune in to hear the SyrupCast team's thoughts. Hosts: Igor Bonifacic, Rose Behar, Sameer Chhabra, and Patrick O'Rourke Do you have questions, comments, thoughts, or anything you would like addressed on the podcast? Send us an email to podcast@mobilesyrup.com. If you're feeling extra adventurous, send us a voice recording of your question or comment and you may end up featured in a future episode! Total runtime: 45:00 Apple predictions: 1:30 Listener questions: 27:30 Shoutouts: 40:10 Sameer's shoutout goes to Sabarish Gnanamoorthy. Rose is talking about Harman's CEO throwing shade. Patrick, during the #SwitchMinute, gives a shoutout to his brand new neon yellow joy-cons. Finally, Igor's shoutout goes to Rose because this week is her birthday!
It's the return of anarchy from the UK on Space Javelin this week, cadets, as Malcolm and William climb up from the lower decks to join Charles for news and analysis of the week's tech events, plus stories about heat, bats, three-armed iPhone buyers, and much more. The biggest headline as of Friday was the press invites to Apple's iPhone and software announcements on Tuesday, September 12, with (likely) additional formal unveilings of a new Apple TV, probably a new LTE Apple Watch, and possibly some surprises. Apple's new macOS version, High Sierra, has some caveats for people who aren't all-SSD and who might be using older OS versions or software, and we'll go over those as well. We also talk about Apple's dominance of wearables in two areas, all of Intel's latest chip refreshes, the return of Golden Axe to iOS, and much more. When the captain's away, the officers will play, cadets, so enjoy shore leave while it lasts!
Alternative messaging apps, rumors of an LTE Apple Watch, our primary news sources, and the surprising apps that we use on our phones.
Join Miriam Harris, David Price and Henry Burrell as they dissect the weird internal memo row at Google. Was a male engineer genuinely trying to help Google and make a point about the company being too Left, or is he just an arsehole? Then we describe the iPhone 8 dummy we received this week (take a look at it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRNIwh61j_E ) and the revelations that came from the Homepod firmware leak. We also debate the usefulness of an LTE Apple Watch and try to make puns work. Magic. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
The perfect watch may be here, but we don't know as the PR guy is on holiday. This week Nick apparently has nothing to say and yet we seem to have gone long again. We talk Apple Watch and FitBit Ionic, plan Jon's retirement, and get in the buff(s). Nick doesn't watch TV, Jon doesn't watch the Internet, and we ask “Can you buy a tattoo from a corner shop”? Whatever you want, we have it all this week. ## Show notes * [VM Footwear](http://vmfootwear.com/)—Nick's guy who does portraits on trainers but not on trains * [Apple Air Pods](http://amzn.to/2ycYlg6) may be great for running after all.
