Detective Mike Morgan sat across from Caleb Flynn at 4:28 in the morning on February 16, 2026. Ashley Flynn had been found with two gunshot wounds to the back of her head, their two daughters asleep in the next room. Morgan had questions. Flynn had answers. On Day 7 of Flynn's aggravated murder trial, the jury heard both — and watched Flynn's story allegedly come apart.The first question was simple. Morgan asked to see Flynn's texts with Ashley. There were none. Flynn blamed storage space. Prosecutors allege the same phone contained 107,000 messages between Flynn and Alleigha Botner, the woman they say he'd been having an affair with. The texts with his wife were allegedly the only ones he deleted.Flynn told Morgan nobody had problems with the couple. FBI Special Agent Kinzig testified earlier in the trial that a murder-for-hire tip had surfaced during the investigation — one that allegedly pointed at Flynn.Flynn's theory was an intruder — someone who came through a side door in the garage. Day 7 testimony established that the damage to that door was allegedly visible only from the inside. The marks were on the wrong side for a break-in.Flynn said he was asleep by 11:30 p.m. Ashley's Apple Watch allegedly recorded activity until approximately 2:28 a.m. Flynn called 911 at approximately 2:30 a.m.Toward the end, Flynn mentioned a handgun from his truck that nobody had asked about. The weapon that allegedly killed Ashley Flynn has never been recovered. Flynn told Morgan he couldn't describe the gun he says he owned.Then he told Morgan something no detective had suggested — that it felt like they were pointing at him. Caleb Flynn spent six days of his aggravated murder trial without showing emotion. In Touch With Mac this week Apple released macOS Golden Gate 27.2 beta 2 to developers. The update continues expansion of Siri AI into additional languages and introduces some smaller interface refinements, including revised keyboard-triggered volume and brightness indicators. (⁠MacRumors) Apple's official release notes identify several beta issues. A clean installation may fail to request notification permission for apps including Calendar, Maps, Find My, Home, and Weather. Apple recommends manually enabling affected notifications in System Settings. "Describe a Shortcut" can also fail, and Xcode may crash when using code completion. (⁠Apple Developer) A potentially important post-upgrade issue for Mac users is the amount of local storage being consumed by Apple Intelligence models. MacRumors reports that some Macs running macOS 27 are showing more than 30GB devoted to Apple Intelligence-related data. (⁠MacRumors) The new Mac mini and Mac Studio officially reached customers and Apple Stores on September 22. Mac mini is available with M6 or M5 Pro. Apple says the M6 model starts at $899 in the U.S., while M5 Pro configurations start at $1,699. Mac Studio is available with M5 Max starting at $2,499 or M5 Ultra starting at $5,499. Apple says the 512GB unified-memory Mac Studio configuration will arrive in late October. The Caleb Flynn defense used its cross-examination of Special Agent Joseph Wilhelm to challenge one of the prosecution's technical evidence streams: the data recovered from the iPhones. The defense framed the digital evidence as unreliable and pressed the idea that jurors should be cautious about what those phone artifacts actually prove.Wilhelm is a cyber crime investigator and digital-forensics specialist who previously described the extraction process used on Caleb Flynn's phone. His direct testimony covered digital artifacts including deleted apps, incognito activity, Apple Watch data and other device information. Cross-examination shifted the focus from what was recovered to how much trust the jury should place in it.Caleb Flynn has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from the murder of his wife, Ashley Flynn. Special Agent Joseph Wilhelm testified about what investigators recovered from Caleb Flynn's iPhone, including digital artifacts showing multiple apps deleted on February 15, 2026. Among them were Instagram, GroupMe and ChatGPT - one day before the death of Caleb's wife, Ashley Flynn.Wilhelm told jurors that settings on the iPhone prevented his first extraction attempt from succeeding. He switched forensic tools and was able to perform a full extraction. That data, he testified, also contained artifacts associated with incognito browsing.Then came the wearable data. Wilhelm walked through information from an Apple Watch identified as @CalebApplesWatch, including recorded steps, AirPods connections and a final heart-rate recording at 2:10:11 a.m. Investigators also recovered the audio file of a song Caleb wrote for Alleigha Botner. Jurors heard the song in court.Caleb has pleaded not guilty to charges in Ashley's murder. Prosecutors allege he killed her and staged the scene as a home invasion, while the defense maintains an intruder was responsible. Wilhelm's testimony does not make the interpretation for the jury. Special Agent Joseph Wilhelm took the Caleb Flynn jury inside the digital evidence recovered from Flynn's iPhone, and the timeline prosecutors are building now has another layer. Wilhelm testified that Instagram, GroupMe, ChatGPT and other apps showed as deleted from the phone on February 15, 2026 - the day before Ashley Flynn was killed.Wilhelm, a cyber-crime investigator specializing in digital forensics, said the first attempt to extract Caleb's phone data failed because of settings on the device. He used another forensic tool and completed a full extraction. He testified that the recovered artifacts included evidence of incognito browsing.The extraction also reached beyond the phone. Wilhelm testified about Apple Watch data, including a final recorded heart rate at 2:10:11 a.m., step information and AirPods connectivity. The watch was identified in the data as @CalebApplesWatch. Investigators also recovered audio of a song Caleb wrote for Alleigha Botner, which was played for the jury.Caleb Flynn has pleaded not guilty in the murder of his wife, Ashley Flynn. Prosecutors allege he killed Ashley and staged their Tipp City home to resemble a burglary. The defense says an intruder killed Ashley and investigators rushed to blame Caleb.
