After the House voted to direct Donald Trump to end the Iran war, he exploded at the four Republicans who turned against him, terming them “grandstanders” who “should be ashamed of themselves.” This comes as The New York Times reports that extensive internal war games among military officials established that Iran would react to an attack by closing the Strait of Hormuz—which Trump ignored. And incredibly, officials just leaked to The Atlantic that Trump is privately “irritated” by commentary casting his emerging framework as weaker than Barack Obama's 2015 nuclear deal. Trump also wants a way to argue that Iran “accepted terms from him that Obama never managed to extract.” We talked to former National Security Council veteran Emily Horne, author of the Spin Class Substack. We discuss how all those leaks themselves signal Trump's growing weakness, why his demand for a “better” deal than Obama's may be hopeless, and whether that leaves us any way out of this fiasco. 3 Cash Flow Leaks Draining Your Profit with Natalia Zacharin Find Rocky Lalvani @ www.ProfitComesFirst.com or email him at rocky@profitcomesfirst.com Make more, work less video: https://youtu.be/ Most business owners think they have a revenue problem when they really have a cash flow problem. In this episode, Rocky Lalvani talks with Natalia Zacharin about the hidden leaks that drain profit, the financial habits that help owners scale with more confidence, and why waiting until payroll gets tight is already too late. If you want better cash flow, stronger profit, and clearer financial decisions, this conversation gives you a practical framework for what to watch and what to fix. Natalia Zacharin built her business from a bookkeeping side gig in 2019 into a 16-person firm that provides accounting, bookkeeping, and fractional CFO services. In this conversation, she shares what happened when she lost a major client, why high profitability gave her room to respond, and how owners can use financial data to make smarter decisions before a problem turns into a crisis. In This Episode: Why cash flow problems often begin long before the bank balance shows it How forecasting helps owners see problems 3, 6, or 9 months early What Natalia learned after losing $250,000 in revenue Why hiring because you are busy can create bigger financial pressure The warning signs of weak pricing and poor payroll capacity How to judge marketing ROI faster and stop wasting money Why founders should usually own sales longer than they want to Key Takeaways: Cash flow problems usually start months before the bank balance makes them obvious. Forecasting helps business owners see trouble coming 3, 6, or even 9 months ahead. If you are too busy to keep up but still cannot afford to hire, you may have a pricing problem. Marketing should be measured by booked calls, sales, and ROI, not vague activity. Founders should usually lead sales longer than they want to, especially before the business reaches roughly $750,000 to $1 million in revenue. Natalia's Money Lesson: Natalia's biggest money lesson is that financials have to be used proactively, not reactively. She explains that strong profit margins, six months of cash reserves, and regular forecasting helped her navigate the loss of $250,000 in revenue without panicking. Her point is clear: if you understand your numbers early, you can spot trends, catch leaks, and make adjustments before you end up borrowing for payroll, missing tax obligations, or making emotional decisions under pressure. Why This Conversation Matters: This conversation matters because it gets to the heart of what many small business owners experience but do not always understand: revenue can grow while profit and cash flow still get weaker. Natalia and Rocky talk about the slow trends that create pressure long before the bank account reveals it, including weak pricing, bad hiring timing, wasted marketing spend, and avoiding the numbers. For owners trying to grow without creating more chaos, this episode is a reminder that financial clarity is not optional. It is the tool that gives you time, options, and control. About Natalia Zacharin: Natalia Zacharin is the founder of Zacharin Consulting and an Inc. 5000 entrepreneur. She helps 7 and 8 figure business owners turn financial data into a forward-facing GPS. Natalia will reveal the silent cash leaks draining your profits, exactly when to make your next hire, and how to build a highly sellable asset. In this episode of Idle Talk, Tom and Ashley from King's Auto Repair cover real world issues local drivers are dealing with right now: - Why buying a used car with the check engine light on is almost never a “quick sensor fix” - How catalytic converter failures (and theft attempts) are hitting wallets and what you can do to reduce your risk - A listener question about a stuck seatbelt, how the locking mechanism works, and when it's time for replacement - A practical discussion of oil leaks how shops trace them, when they're urgent, and how one leak can trigger other drivability/emissions problems - A call-in conversation about loud exhaust, inspection enforcement, headlight alignment, and illegal lighting mods These topics are great reminders that small “annoyances” (lights, smells, leaks, noises) often point to bigger issues—and that a trusted shop inspection can save drivers from expensive surprises. Key Takeaways - Never buy a used car with the check engine light on. If it were truly “just an O₂ sensor,” it likely would've been repaired before sale. A check engine light can indicate expensive emissions failures (like catalytic converters) or deeper engine performance problems. - Pre-purchase inspections catch what Carfax can miss. Carfax is helpful, but it depends on reporting. Repairs paid out-of-pocket or not processed through insurance may not show up. A shop inspection can spot clues like panel work, welding, rust bubbles, and underside damage. - Catalytic converters are costly (and theft is real). Converters contain precious metals, which drives both replacement costs and theft attempts. Even a “failed” converter can be valuable to thieves. - Seatbelt retractors can lock up, sometimes it's a mechanism issue, not a “broken belt.” Seatbelts can get stuck in child seat ratchet mode or jam internally. If it won't retract/unlock, don't force it especially if pretensioners are involved. - Oil leaks aren't just messy, they can trigger check engine lights and damage components. A PCV system fault can pull oil into the intake, contaminate emissions components, and create driveability issues. Oil can also drift and spread underhood, making the true source harder to find. - Diagnosis often starts with cleaning. For heavy oil leaks, the first step is frequently cleaning the area, running the engine, and re-checking sometimes using cardboard/drip tracing to narrow down leak origin. - “They sell it online” doesn't mean it's legal. The show touches on illegal lighting colors (blue hue), headlight alignment concerns, exhaust modifications, and wheels protruding beyond fenders issues that affect safety and legality. What if the real obstacle to growing your practice isn't getting more calls, but what happens after the phone rings? In this episode, Dr. Len Tau unpacks the step-by-step system any dentist can use to turn a $500,000 practice into a $1 million powerhouse in just 12 months (without breaking the bank on marketing.) He dispels the biggest myth in dentistry: that growth is out of reach with limited resources, revealing that most offices are held back by overlooked “leaks” and conversion gaps, not a lack of opportunity. Michael and Dr. Tau explore why a marketing budget as low as $1,500/month is enough to drive 20+ new patients when coupled with consistent processes, sharp phone skills, and clear internal accountability.Through stories and practical tactics, Dr. Tau guides us through an initial audit to spot where practices are losing potential patients, from missed calls and ineffective front-desk handling to low case acceptance and patient attrition. He shares actionable tools, like listening to recorded calls, asking the right operational questions, and introducing comfort-driven patient forms to turn new patients into lifelong patients. From scripting insurance conversations and pre-visit rapport-building to optimizing treatment presentations and review management, Dr. Tau details how any practice can harness its existing patient flow for exponential growth, one clear step at a time. What You'll Learn in This Episode:How to audit your practice to plug costly “leaks” before increasing marketing spendThe critical phone skills that make or break conversion ratesTactical steps to build patient trust from the very first interactionWhy active listening and “disarming” patients improves show rates and reviewsThe exact operational data (new patients, attrition, case acceptance, etc.) to track for fast growthKey system changes to raise daily production from detailed patient forms to same-day dentistryHow to frame treatment and payment options to maximize acceptance (and avoid sticker shock)Smart methods to measure marketing effectiveness (no matter your ad budget)The truth about online reviews and how to build reputation resilienceReady to see where your practice might be leaking profitability? “The extra 1% is sometimes just being realistic about what is possible.” Most coaches think profit problems come from not getting enough clients. Sometimes the real problem is what is happening behind the scenes. Poor communication.High turnover.Unclear expectations.Clients quietly leaving.Systems breaking down. In this episode, Cathy Smith chats with Todd Krause about the hidden profit leaks that can quietly drain your coaching business even while you are growing. Because more revenue does not always mean more profit.

Welcome to the Memorial Day episode of the Muckrake Podcast where co-hosts Jared Yates Sexton and Nick Hauselman examine the Trump administration's claims of an imminent peace deal with Iran. While officials project optimism about an agreement, US fuel reserves are decreasing alongside steadily climbing grocery prices for everyday Americans. Furthermore, global trade dynamics are actively shifting as Iran bypasses sanctions to sell massive volumes of oil to China using ships with disabled transponders. Back in Washington, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has resigned from her post. Her departure highlights a significant power shift toward neoconservatives like Marco Rubio as discussions about a potential invasion of Cuba circulate among top officials. Meanwhile, JD Vance is reportedly reconsidering his political future following recent administrative struggles. Leaks indicate he might delay his presidential ambitions until 2032 to distance himself from current unpopularity, particularly after an awkward appearance at a private dinner hosted by Supreme Court Justice John Roberts. Finally, Pope Leo has published a comprehensive 42,000-word encyclical critiquing the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence. The pontiff is demanding strict government regulation to protect the labor market and prevent potential military misuse. This unprecedented document firmly positions church leadership against major Silicon Valley executives.

Episode 3 of the series is live. We're talking about emotional load. The real, practical reason why high performers plateau, burn out, or can't understand why their training isn't landing the way it should. The truth is your body doesn't separate emotional stress from physical stress. When life is heavy, relationship strain, work pressure, family chaos, your stress capacity is already maxed out before you even lace up your shoes.Training through it doesn't make you tougher. It makes you slower to recover, harder to be around, and less effective in every other area of life too.Three things that actually help:Set real boundaries in the areas causing the most stressFind someone you can talk to freelyGet curious about the source, not just the symptomsThis is where real performance lives. Not in your VO2 max.

Ken and Lima dig into the Jeremy Fowler report that Deshaun Watson holds the early edge in the Browns quarterback competition, raising the more interesting question of who exactly is talking to national insiders when OTAs have barely started and there's been almost nothing to evaluate. The debate gets heated fast — Ken makes the case that leaks in 2026 don't necessarily come from inside the building, pointing to agents, business managers, and people in players' orbits as the more likely sources, while Lima pushes back on the framing without fully disagreeing with the underlying point. The uncomfortable reality hanging over all of it is that if Monken does start Watson, the fan fallout is going to be severe — not just from Shedeur supporters, but from a broad chunk of the fan base that simply doesn't want to watch Deshaun Watson play football again regardless of how he looks in practice.

The fallout continues from Donald Trump's startling rant admitting that he isn't concerned with how the Iran war is impacting Americans' finances. On Wednesday, JD Vance, Mike Johnson, and numerous other Republicans struggled to spin away the damage, but they appeared visibly flummoxed. Indeed, the GOP cracks are worsening: Three GOP Senators just voted to end the war. And shocking leaks to The New York Times reveal that Iran still retains substantial military capabilities, directly undercutting Trump's boasts of success. We talked to international relations expert Nicholas Grossman, who has a good piece on this whole fiasco. We discuss why those leaks are so damning, why the economic and political fallout from the war is only just beginning, and why Trump's megalomaniacal understanding of the situation has left him fundamentally cornered.
