I'm less than three days removed from a life changing experience that was Practical Magic Live, a 2-day event for women's leadership hosted by Makenna Johnston. I spent some amazing time with people I love, people I admire, and people I'd never met and I had one of the most beautiful breakthroughs of my life. I'm so grateful to be in Charleston this week as I let all these beautiful aha's integrate, but one of these aha's is just so evidently clear, I'm sharing it with you today! I'm calling it the Law of Expansion, which is apparently a thing. I just looked it up and found some great words of wisdom by John Maxwell. Check that out here! Great minds think alike :) Join me for my first few thoughts on Practical Magic Live and a beautiful meditation on gratitude. To check out Infinite Receiving as I mentioned on the episode, find all the details about this 90 day program hosted by the lovely Maru Iabichela HERE! It starts today so if this feels like a HELL YES, jump on it, sister! I'll see you for an amazing interview on Thursday, which you do NOT want to miss! It's most definitely one of my top 5 interviews of all time! YES... be there, girlfriend! Have a beautiful start to your week and remember, your inner work is changing the planet! It's that important and you are THAT powerful
Buying Julia Child’s home in France! Who does that?! Makenna Johnston does. And it happened through a series of events that could only mean that it was truly meant to be hers. Not only does Makenna manage owning a business where people can take cooking classes or rent Lapeetch, but she’s also a successful Business Coach as well. Makenna’s energy is infectious as you can tell from this interview. She was meant to be an Entrepreneur from the beginning, starting with successful lemonade stands as a kid and owning her own Marketing Company as a teen. Life wasn’t all roses. As a teen, she endured a diagnosis of and treatment for Melanoma. After a little time in Corporate, life set up obstacles to push her out and opened doors for her to create her own business. Her take on manifestation is spot on! Sometimes, we’re taken where we need to be. Listen to her fascinating story of HOW she got Julia Child’s house and created her dream business and life. How do you make magic real? Makenna Johnston has been doing it over and over again in her clients and own life. Learn her secrets… Our Guest: Makenna is an artist. First and foremost. She paints with words, travels by writing, breathes by cooking, lives by coaching, and dances with watercolor. Makenna paved her way in the world of corporate, managing the most lucrative and largest ad spend funnel in the world (she did a bang up job on it, by the way). From corporate to academia, she was a professor at three colleges by the age of 26. A force of nature, with millions of dollars of revenue attached to her coaching/consulting she is the queen of pragmatic business acumen mixed heartily with heart-centered coaching. She runs the Courageous Cooking School at La Pitchoune, is the founder of I Wrangle Unicorns (coaching for the magic makers/multi-passionate creatives/and more), and is the author of The Intention Generation. When she’s not entrepreneur-ing she can be found cooking, studying for her esoteric PhD, drinking craft beer, playing rugby, or teaching/skiing at Beaver Creek Resort. (And no…She doesn’t work a gazillion hours a week). Makenna Johnston is a business coach, author of The Intention Generation and her and her wife recently bought Julia Child's home in the South of France, which they're turning into a cooking school and yoga retreat centre. Whether through writing, speaking, or creating her work’s cornerstone is the notion that intention trumps expectation and that input matters far more than extraction. The results? Alignment & Presence. (Things the world could use more of). We dove deep into Makenna’s journey - which is absolutely fascinating - as well as what it takes to live an intentional life, the consequences of getting caught up in expectations rather than intentions, and how to set powerful intentions and visions for our lives. This is one of those conversations that left me with goose pimples afterwards and I’m so excited for you to hear it.
If Tibetan philosophies of non-attachment made passionate love to high-level business acumen with a hefty dash of bodymind connection, and raised their resultant love child on a steady diet of craft beer, traditional foods, mountain living, yoga, and snow skiing you'd have, Makenna Johnston. In this Wild Soul Story I talk with Makenna Johnston, visionary coach and entrepreneur. I invited her to chat after a beautiful thank you message she sent me a few months back about all the changes she made after attending her Untame Yourself weekend back in August 2015. Some of those changes included shifting her relationship with herself, her wife and her mother, purchasing Julia Childs' home in France to turn it into a culinary retreat center AND deciding to write her first book. Enjoy listening to her wild and inspiring journey!
