THEN, its show and tell time in the Muscle Temple as Chuck introduces the boys to the wonderful world of Manor Pro Wrestling -- the ONLY pro wrestling dinner theater show. If you or anyone you know has attended a Manor Pro Wrestling show PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE hit us up @TIAPOD on twitter.
It is the off-season again, so that means it is time for more silly games and nonsense talk. Joaquin kicks things off by hosting a fresh round of Muscle Temple Jeopardy. It's just like normal Jeopardy, but just about wrestling! Joining Frank and Chuck to play the game is a very special guest: Geoffrey Golden (@geoffreygolden)
It's the final off-season episode before we fire up season 9 and Joaquin has donned his blazer, mustache and game-master cap as he hosts TIA's first ever edition of Pro Wrestling Jeopardy! It's just like normal Jeopardy!, only all the questions are about wrestling and consumption of croix is highly encouraged. Joining Chuck and Frank as players this week is Muscle Temple alum Jimmy Chang! (@Jimmythechang)
The off-season kicks off with the 4th edition of everybody's favorite wrestling trivia game based off of a forgotten network daytime gameshow: King of the Thing. But what's that? Russo swerve! Joaquin has taken over hosting duties so that Chuck can try his best to win the game that he created! Rounding out the field of players is returning champion Frank and returning Muscle Temple member Nate Bulmer! Season 8 comes to a raging climax with some always-exciting STAR Ratings housekeeping. Joined by original Muscle Temple member Nathan Bulmer! Tie scores will be broken and big thoughts will be had. How many different quotes did Joaquin prepare for the show? And what does any of this have to do with Dr. John Becker?
WrestleMania 22 hits the Big Time with this seminal (and somewhat problematic) WWE Women's Championship matchup between the Ace of 2006 WWE's women's division and her obsessed superfan. It's Trish Stratus taking on challenger Mickie James, co-starring a rowdy Chicago crowd and some cringeworthy commentary. We suggest you check out options available on daily motion for the original, unabridged version of the match. On the WWE Network they've done some not-so-light editing, with the finish being significantly altered (though JR and King's commentary is present in nearly every version, so be forewarned). Joining the gang this week in the virtual studio is returning guest and Muscle Temple member Leigh Luna! [Trish Stratus vs Mickie James, WrestleMania 22, April 2 2006]
Final thoughts and tie breakers are the subject of the day on this finale episode of season 7. With two major decisions to be made, we've invited original Muscle Temple member Jamie Dee Galey to come in to the virtual studio and help us with match placement on the big board. The ties are: S7E10 Jericho vs Omega - WrestleKingdom 12 S6E5 Triple H vs Cactus Jack - WWF Royal Rumble 2000 S4E8 The Young Bucks vs The World's Cutest Tag Team - PWG AND S7E7 Piper vs Bret - WrestleMania 8 S7E4 KUSHIDA vs Hiromu Takahashi - Dominion 6.11 2017
Of the three faces of Foley, it is said that Cactus Jack is the most vile, the most sadistic, the most willing to sacrifice his body. Well, in this week's offering Triple H will find out just how true that sentiment is. Your boys are back in Attitude Era, getting granular on a street fight for the World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Championship. Its Triple H vs Cactus Jack from Royal Rumble 2000. This one is BYOP (that's "bring your own plunder" for the uninitiated). Running in this week to help adjudicate some STAR ratings is Muscle Temple founder, writer & story artist Zach Marcus! (@zach2themax) [Triple H vs Cactus Jack, WWF Royal Rumble 2000, January 23 2000]
THUNDER ROCK EXPLODES! On this episode, your boys head back to the World of Stardom (or is it Stardom World?) to watch the Genius of the Sky defend her World of Stardom Championship against former tag team partner and former best friend, The Sky Blue Hyper Technician. Will Mayu be able to defeat her unstoppable former stablemate or will it once again be a case of LOLSHIRAIWINS? Joining in on this week's analysis is writer and Muscle Temple member Geoffrey Golden! (@geoffreygolden geoffreygolden.com) [Io Shirai vs Mayu Iwatani, Stardom Year-End Climax, December 12 2016] Remember to keep those match suggestions coming to us via e-mail at thisisawesomepod@gmail.com or on twitter @TIAPOD And find everything TIA at our landing page: thisisawesomepod.com Check out Joaquin's LA Marathon fundraiser info HERE
It is the penultimate episode of the TIA off-season and your boys are finishing up strong with another rousing edition of the King of the Thing trivia game! The categories are: Movez with a Z, Making an Entrance, Tuning Up the Band, The Mania of WrestleMania and (as always) Potpourri & Plunder! And because it's our biggest King of the Thing ever we are joined by a new challenger: Muscle Temple member and chef extraordinaire AC Boral! (@ACBoral Rice & Shine) Who will be crowned this off-seasons King of the Thing? Keep those match suggestions coming on twitter @TIAPOD or via e-mail at thisisawesomepod@gmail.com Everything TIA is found at our landing page: ThisisAwesomepod.com
Two champs enter, one champ leaves! It's title unification time in Ring of Honor as we see 'American Dragon' Bryan Danielson grapple with Nigel McGuinness under PURE Championship rules. There must be a winner and this crowd must learn when it's appropriate to throw things in the ring (the answer is: only if its WCW in the 90s). Running in to help throw science at this match-up is author, publisher and Muscle Temple member Amanda Meadows (@amandonium) Remember to get at us on twitter @TIAPOD or via e-mail at thisisawesomepod@gmail.com with match suggestions for future episodes. And find everything TIA at thisisawesomepod.com [Bryan Danielson vs Nigel McGuinness, August 12 2006, ROH Unified]
Say your prayers, eat your vitamins, and listen to this episode of Two Packs a Week, the trading card comedy show, brother. Host Geoffrey Golden and special guest Frank Gibson (Bee and Puppycat) don’t need a permit to open packs of WWF Wrestling and Great Guns! trading cards. Along the way, they unload on firearms that look like tiny vinyl record players, put a chokehold on Butch “I’m Not Quite Hulk Hogan” Reed, and for the main event: Frank becomes the first guest to taste the ancient gum inside the pack. (Spoiler Alert: It tastes like death!) Check it!!! Two Packs a Week presented by Meltdown Comics!!! Follow us on Twitter!
