What does "ergogenic" mean? (6:00) It is basically anything that enhances athletic performance. There are also "ergonomic" aids specific to equipment. Ergogenic aids are not always worth the packaging they are in. (12:30) However, consuming meat and eggs is ideal for getting protein. This documentary provides a fresh and clever perspective on the character of Dorothy Gale and the cultural significance of "The Wizard of Oz" in all its incarnations. Writer-director-editor Jeffrey McHale is a friend of ours (we interviewed him here about his "Showgirls" documentary with the brilliant title "You Don't Nomi"), so we didn't give this a number, but genuinely liked the movie so much that we wanted to tell you about it. And both women may be victims of the same alleged lie.In today's episode, we examine the Gilgo Beach Killer family fracture—why his ex-wife Asa Ellerup still calls Rex her "hero" while daughter Victoria has publicly stated she believes he's "most likely" guilty of the Long Island murders.According to the Peacock documentary, Asa described Rex as her "savior" from a difficult first marriage. She said visiting him in jail felt like "a first date." Their divorce was finalized in March 2025—but she still refers to him as "my husband."Victoria's evolution was different. She acknowledged there were places in the Massapequa Park house she wasn't allowed as a child. She spoke with BTK's daughter about living in the aftermath. By the documentary's release, she'd reached her conclusion about LISK.But here's what makes the Gilgo Beach case even more disturbing. According to court documents, female hairs found on multiple victims' remains along Ocean Parkway were allegedly consistent with DNA from Asa and Victoria. Neither woman is accused of involvement. Suffolk County prosecutors say the hair was transferred from Rex's clothing.The women in the alleged Long Island Serial Killer's life were allegedly connected to murder victims they never knew existed. However, the harder she trains, the harder it becomes to succeed. (2:45) Vinnie (and other coaches she has hired) has told her she's training too hard. She needs to focus on what she's doing when she's *not* in the game. (14:00) He uses his own training history as an example. Optimal training happens in Zone 2, low and slow. (21:00) Training with a planned "down" schedule helps your body recover better and build endurance. (27:00) The process is similar when doing anaerobic exercises (weight training). (28:45) It makes sense to scale up cardio, then bring it back down, but how does that work for strength training? (31:50) Vinnie's workouts follow a periodization plan, which allows for proper recovery between workouts. What should people be doing on their "rest" days? (37:00) Doing aerobics, like a good walk, is "active rest." Mobility exercises are an option as well. Pilates is good for strength, but it also works the body differently, so adjusting Pilates workouts may be necessary to accommodate weight-training workouts. Meaning, you don't want to focus on the same muscle groups two days in a row. (38:00) Vinnie advises what to do on your "off" days to get the most bang for your buck. (43:00) You can usually find used equipment on places like Facebook Marketplace. Interval training is also a good addition. (47:00) He explains what a "four by four" is, which is a form of HIIT (high-intensity interval training).
