D'Arcy Carden is the best kind of busy right now. She just wrapped her run on the Emmy award winning series The Handmaid's Tale where she managed to swoop in during the show's sixth and final season and quickly establish herself as a fan favorite character. Right now she's in production on a highly anticipated and star studded Peacock series based on Elin Hilderbrand's novel, Five Star Weekend. Carden stars in that one alongside Jennifer Garner, Regina Hall, Chloë Sevigny and Gemma Chan. Carden also makes a mark on the indie cinema space this year courtesy of Seth Worley's phenomenal feature directorial debut, Sketch. The movie utilizes a downright brilliant concept to explore a family's grief. Jack (Kue Lawrence) and Amber (Bianca Belle) recently lost their mother, and they're coping with it in two totally different ways, as is their father, Taylor, played by Tony Hale. While Jack and Taylor are bottling it all up, Amber is expressing herself with art — or, more specifically, by drawing violent monsters in her notebook. One day, that notebook falls in a pond. But, it's not any old pond. This pond has magical powers, and it brings her sketches to life, and those sketches go on to terrorize her town.Carden enters as Liz, Jack and Amber's real estate agent aunt. Initially, she's wholly focused on helping Taylor sell their home but soon comes to realize that the fight against Amber's drawings is very real, and she's going to have to fight creatures made of marker, crayon, glitter, and more alongside her brother.Sketch is a top tier original film. Millions have been impacted by Charlie Peacock's Grammy Award-winning production and songwriting work. A smaller, but devoted group has been with him since his days as a Sacramento-based alternative pop artist and member of the progressive Exit Records scene. But very few have ever heard the work he did prior to his 1983 debut, Lie Down In The Grass, until now. On the heels of the release of his expansive and revealing memoir Roots and Rhythm, Peacock just dropped a never-before-heard collection of songs he recorded in 1980 and 81 with the legendary rock producer David Kahne (later named among the 500 most important Rock Producers by Rolling Stone for his work with Regina Spektor, The Bangles, Paul McCartney, Fishbone, Lana Del Rey, Springsteen, Tony Bennett, Stevie Nicks and others.) The Kahne Sessions reveals a young diamond in the rough, and on this special episode Charlie takes us back to those early days in his career and puts it all into context. And there is a LOT more where this comes from. Nominated for three Emmys Thaao Penghlis just completed his 41 st year on Days of our Lives and “Beyond Salem,” a five episode mini -series for the NBC's Peacock channel. Thaao starred in the films Slow Dancing in the Big City, Altered States, The Bell Jar and The Mirror. Penghlis then won the role of the charismatic Tony DiMera on Days of our Lives. Penghlis played Nicholas Black on the prime time series revival of Mission: Impossible. On television, he has starred in the miniseries Sadat, appeared opposite Omar Sharif and Jane Seymour in the miniseries adaptation of Sydney Sheldon's Memories of Midnight, and played a terrorist in the critically acclaimed television film Under Siege. His most unusual role was playing the lover of Dame Edna as Colonel Godowni in the cult classic Les Patterson Saves the World. A world- class traveler, Penghlis had his first book “PLACES” published in 2015 garnering great reviews. It deals with his journeys to the Middle East and the dangers he encountered in Syria, Lebanon and Egypt. His second book “Seducing Celebrities One Meal at a Time” was released in November 2016' Thaao's lifelong fascination with Archaeology, researched the famous archeologist Heinrich Schliemann who is the subject of his screenplay and podcast. The ultimate adventurer, Penghlis has trekked across the Sinai desert, climbed Mt. Sinai, soared in a hot air balloon over the Valley of the Kings in Egypt, and survived both crashes and an attempted kidnapping. His Podcast “The Lost Treasures” was released September 2023. It is based on Heinrich Schliemann's discovery of Troy and ‘Mycenaean,' Greece.
