John and Kate talk with Jesse about how they met, how they balance their creative partnership with their independent work and why Kate should have eaten a tuna melt before sitting down to her NPR interview.

Each week we're bringing you on a guded journey to reinvest, rediscover, and reimagine your life and leadership so that you can continue to get healthy and reach sustainable impact. On today's BONUS episode, Alan has a great conversation with pastor author, and podcaster Jon Peacock about his new book Giant Killer; Winning The Battles That Matter Most.  About Jon In 2010 a few friends and I set out on the journey to plant what is known today as Mission Church. The journey of leading and learning is one I want to continue for the rest of my life. From starting with 20 friends in my living room to now leading thousands, we've come a long way but we still have miles to go. I spend most of my time raising daughters, loving my wife, walking my dog, encouraging our staff, envisioning our people, and cooking for my neighbors on my Big Green Egg. I'm a regular guy who's been captivated by a Redefining Church vision. I know where God has called me to go and stay; the neighborhood. I have the joy of leading alongside my bestie, Tommy Bowman. Created, written, and directed by Nida Manzoor, We Are Lady Parts follows a British punk rock band consisting entirely of Muslim women as they strive for musical success.   Manzoor discusses the pressure of feeling like she was representing an entire community and how she ultimately decided to write from her own experience: "I'd had a few meetings as a new writer where I was sort of being asked to write about the suffering of being a Muslim woman or to portray it as being a victim, [which] didn't reflect my experience or the women I knew, and so I found that frustrating. I was like, all right, if I was going to examine this aspect of my identity, how would I do it? ... The frustration pushed me into developing something which is my dream show to make."   Manzoor goes on to describe her connection to the story itself and how that ties into her creative roots: "I grew up in a very creative household old - a very musical household - which is why the show is sort of about a band, so I think music was my first passion. But then after doing a degree in politics, I realized very quickly I didn't want to have anything to do with politics; I wanted to be a filmmaker… and, you know, Lady Parts was really my first foray into writing and directing something that was really kind of myself and true to the kind of work I wanted to make."   We Are Lady Parts is now streaming on Peacock.   Don't forget to subscribe to the Write On Podcast on iTunes!   Now available on Google Podcasts!

Marty's seminal works, Pi - The Great Work, Pi & The English Language, and The Peacock's Tales - The Alchemical Writings of Claudia Pavonis were inspiring explorations of sacred number, geometry and the mathematics that rule our Universe, but ultimately as a study of oneself. On this episode we'll go deep into his latest work Lord Jesus Christ, a textbook to the decoded truths in the Holy Bible.  We'll contrast Hermeticism with Gnosticism and further discuss banned books of the Bible, why the bible is not a history book, the bible/Kabbalah overlap and the absolute relevance to current global events. A new “Moment of Butch” sound effect on the show. (Thank you Mr. James). Superfan Mr. JJ suggests AYBS Fan Fiction! What is Mr. Lucas purchased Millstone Manor in “Grace & Favour” and Peacock and Rumbold have to defer to their new boss? Honorary Members of the That Does Suit Madame Research Department! AYBS only had one episode that focused on Miss. Brahams in the plot?! Superfan Mr. Rob points out Jeremy Lloyd's “secret” cameo in the first few episodes of AYBSA/Grace & Favour as the rich car driver when Capt. Peacock was on the runaway lawn mower. Yet more applicants for the free, unpaid TDSM intern program! (Meet Superman and special co-host Ms. Heather). Mr. Gregory sent us the long-elusive videos of John Inman for the 1990s PBS fundraiser videos “Best of AYBS” clips where he reprises Mr. Humphries and Mrs. Humphries! Stay tuned… AYBS props! Did Ms. Heather name her new cute daughter after the podcast?! An appropriately-timed joke about Mrs. Slocombe's cat. “Maybe -I- should be the head waiter!?” Don't ever give Mr. Jeff a tureen of Ministrone soup. A “tronc”, just a façon de parler… (a French term for a “poor box”). Mavis is now very clearly in love with Mr. Humphries. Should the podcast commission a future fan fiction/radio play when we run out of Grace & Favour episodes?! “An all-rounder” is this episode's “Moment of Butch” (a cricket reference!) A timely Madonna reference! Turnips: more entertaining than we ever thought? Mr. Molturd's flood of emotions. Mr. Humphries removes his hand from the knob. Miss. Lovelock's performing in luxury hotels around the world. Humphries reprises “Tony” from “The Holdup” as Luigi, the lovable bartender with his “Zombie Surprise” cocktail. Molturdian is an adjective. Capt. Peacock as Igor in his short dickie? “Skivvies” in the UK = maids. Miss. Lovelock criticizes Mrs. Slocombe and we get an amazing scene from Mollie Sugden. Saying naughty words in American and UK television (and Facebook/IG). “The family way” = pregnant. Portmanteau = a combination of two words into a new one like “brunch”. A Scooby Doo-esque farce of running around the corridor and being frightened. Was the Hall of Faces from Game of Thrones inspired from this episode of Grace & Favour? Happy Wednesday fellow movie lovers! For today's amazing podcast we review a not so amazing film, Jurassic World: Dominion. Non dinosaur related topics include Quake, MySpace, and Rammstein. Matt and Mike had really high hopes for Jurassic World: Dominion but they were quickly smashed after the first 5 minutes. Is Jurassic World: Dominion a bad film, yes. It is a blockbuster with tons and tons of action but one of the biggest let downs is the story, it's just awful. One of the main plot points doesn't even involve dinosaurs, seriously! The original characters were totally not needed in this film except Ian Malcolm of course. They are in the film to drive more viewers to the theater and it worked for opening weekend. Jurassic World: Dominion finished first at the box office.  We are sorry to say but Mike and Matt both agree Jurassic World: Dominion is not worth your time or money. When it hits a streaming service maybe but Mike is the only one that thinks that. Matt graciously awards the film 2 out of 5 Reels mostly from nostalgia. Mike with the rare higher score gives it 2.5 out of 5 Reels.    For next week's incredible podcast the guys stay home and watch a film they missed in the theaters this past spring, The Northman. It's currently streaming on Peacock. Thanks for listening and we will chat with you next week! The Last Bohemians

The Last Bohemians has gone to LA for a brand new series, supported by Audio-Technica, starting on 6 July and starring LA icon Angelyne, subversive fashion disruptor Michéle Lamy, punk-rock widow Linda Ramone, feminist surrealist Penny Slinger, punk performance artist Johanna Went, artists and sculptors Betye Saar, Alison Saar and Maddy Leeser, cult musician – and LA's first female barber – Lynn Castle and Bond girl Gloria Hendry. Heartbroken and feeling adrift during the pandemic, host and creator Kate Hutchinson decamped to Hollywood in search of the wildest women in the City of Angels to help her get her mojo back. From Sunset Strip sexpots to Downtown artists, she meets a diverse range of incredible women – and one artistic dynasty! – who have lived life on the edge and who, even in their seventies, eighties or even nineties, still refuse to play by the rules. Series four stars: Angelyne, the blonde bombshell who rose to fame in the 1980s when billboards of the then-unknown pin-up started mysteriously appearing around the city and about whom Peacock released a major biopic last month. Michéle Lamy: the subversive French fashion disruptor at the Chateau Marmont on style, inspiration, how she works with her husband Rick Owens and her one-time notorious LA nightspot, Les Deux Cafe. Gloria Hendry: the former Bond girl, blaxploitation-era star and Playboy Bunny talks about being 007's first black love interest, breaking taboos onscreen and paving the way for the Black Panther generation. Linda Ramone: the punk-rock widow shows us around her home, the Linda and Johnny Ramone Ranch, with its themed Elvis and Disney rooms, and discusses love triangles, legacies and the demise of rock'n'roll. Betye Saar, Alison Saar and Maddy Leeser: a joyous encounter with the 95-year-old African-American artist Betye Saar, her artist daughter Alison and grand-daughter Maddy, at home in Laurel Canyon. Lynn Castle: the 83-year-old musician and first lady barber of Los Angeles on cutting Jim Morrison and Neil Young's hair, being Phil Spector's high school sweetheart, her relationship with Elvis, and Nancy Sinatra stealing her style. Johanna Went: the most notorious performance artist on the 80s LA punk scene – and the Lady Gaga that never was – gets frank about the power of ageing. Penny Slinger: the forgotten feminist surrealist and British bohemian – who escaped England for California – explores the divine feminine, exorcisms, making counterculture films in the 1960s and how her work came to define Women's Lib. ABOUT THE LAST BOHEMIANS The Last Bohemians is the vivid, hallucinatory podcast-portrait series started in 2019 by journalist Kate Hutchinson and now in its fourth series. It won silver for Best New Podcast at the 2020 British Podcast Awards and was a finalist at the 2021 Audio Production Awards, stealing hearts with 86-year-old Molly Parkin's stories of self-pleasuring, LSD countess Amanda Feilding's trepanning tales and Pamela Des Barres' reflections on supergroupiedom. This week we talk with the original Captain America Reb Brown we talk about his career and his movies. Gizmodo says Joaquin Phoenix's next Joker movie is going to be called ''Joker: Folie à Deux''. Folie à Deux is French for “shared madness” or ‘madness for two'. Director Todd Phillips says the script is finished Newsweek magazine says Johnny Depp is being sued by a film crew member, who claims he assaulted him. Greg Brooks was a location manager on Johnny's film, "City of Lies". His attorney says Johnny punched him in the chest. "Brooks' case is not about two Hollywood celebrities involved in a toxic relationship. It is about the assault of a hard-working film crew member by the star of the production. Mr. Brooks looks forward to his day in court." Johnny reportedly offered Brooks $100,000 to punch him in the face. Johnny's bodyguards removed him from the set. Jeff Goldblum tells Entertainment Tonight that he onced watched a Jurassic Park movie with Princess Diana. ''The first one we had, I'm remembering London at the Natural History Museum. We showed it to Princess Diana and we had a kind of a royal screening. Steven Spielberg was here, Sam Neil was here, Princess Diana was here, you know, and we showed we showed them the movie. Popcorn, popcorn." Variety magazine says ''Deadpool 3'' will be R-rated and not Disney family friendly. Giant Freakin Robot says Paramount+ executives are considering turning ''Top Gun'' into a series. The website says producers may ask Tom Cruise to make a cameo or two on the show. Giant Freakin Robot says Tom Cruise is allegedly in talks to do a sequel to his movie ''Legend''. Ridley Scott directed the first film, which has a 40% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes Marvel has announced that ''I Am Groot'' will start streaming on August 10th on Disney+. The Guardians of the Galaxy character is a fan favorite Perez Hilton says Disney may once again cast Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow. A former Disney executive tells the website, “I absolutely believe post-verdict that Pirates is primed for rebooting with Johnny as Capt. Jack back on board. There is just too much potential box-office treasure for a beloved character deeply embedded in the Disney culture. With [producer] Jerry Bruckheimer riding high on the massive success of Tom Cruise in Top Gun: Maverick, there is huge appetite for bringing back bankable Hollywood stars in massively popular franchises. I would think they make Margot Robbie his daughter and likely have a cameo with him as a test.'' ''Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness'' will start streaming on Disney+ On June 22nd Pop Culture magazine says ''Married ... With Children'' may be rebooted as a cartoon. None of the original cast would reprise their roles. Fox, Hulu and Peacock are reportedly interested in hearing more about the reboot Googly Eye Shortage: Slate magazine says a Googly Eye shortage is occurring because of supply chain issues and an independent film called ''Everything Everywhere All at Once''. In the film, the movie's main character, Evelyn, gets annoyed by her husband's habit of sticking googly eyes on everything. An employee for the Michaels craft store says, “There has definitely been an increase in sales of googly eyes!! I probably sold eight packs today during my shift alone! People are also buying edible candy googly eyes for treats—so if your store is out, try the baking aisle!” India Today TV says Pirates of the Caribbean fans are against The Rock replacing Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow. The Internet reacts ... "@TheRock Any Hollywood actor should know not to touch the Captain Jack Sparrow role out of respect for @johnnydepp . Stop being greedy!!" "How is Dwayne Johnson going to run like Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow?" "Captain Jack Sparrow can't be replaced! The Rock Dwayne Johnson should humbly say no. If it ain't Johnny Depp it ain't Captain Jack Sparrow."

In 1999, the British network Channel 4 debuted a radical new show about the lives of gay men living in Manchester. Full of nudity, sex, drugs and hedonism, the show took a frank look at gay culture and took on taboo subjects. A year later, Showtime debuted the US version of Queer as Folk, which ran for five seasons and changed the game for American television's representation of LGBT culture. Set in Pittsburgh, the US series started off as a literal remake of the British version, but quickly found a voice of its own and eventually outlast the original's run.  Now, there's a new “Queer as Folk” reboot . It reflects a much more diverse LGBTQ representation in terms of race and gender identity, and is based in the vibrant city of New Orleans. The show premiered on Peacock on June 9th, and follows the cast of characters as their lives intersect within queer friendships, family, love, tragedy, and everyday struggles. For the series, showrunner Stephen Dunn expressed his love for unique found sounds, and so for the relaunch of “Queer as Folk,” composer Jasha Klebe took inspiration from sounds around him to score the show and create specific character themes. We spoke to Jasha about working on the show and composing his music.
