¿Merece la pena ver The Miniature Wife? Join hosts Tony Moore and Justin Hareld, as they recap episodes of Days of Our Lives from the week of September 7th - 11th 2026This week we welcome adult Sydney Dimera to Salem and give our first impressions and how we think she is going to shake things up for the folks of Salem.  We dissect the "two" new Italian businessmen Dante Vitali and Dominic Moreno who have not been seen but have been making some covert moves behind the scenes.  What is our fan favorite Rita up to with her schemes and where does her loyalty actually lie?  Johnny has our sympathy, Joy Wesley has our confusion and Rafe has our rage for the stunt he pulled this week.  To top it all off we have the burning question of who is Mason Whitfield and why does he hate Holly so much?  Dishin Days is proud to announce that tickets are on sale for our game night event, as well as unveiling our two new in person events happening in fall 2026.  Go to dishindays.com for tickets and information. Be sure to follow us on all social media platforms: Facebook: DishinDaysShow Instagram: @dishindays Twitter: dishindays

On this week's show we look into an article that alleges LG's Smart TVs are listening in on your conversations even when the screen is off. We also do a quick rundown on what Dolby's AC4 is and where you can experience it. We also read your emails and look at the week's news. News: Streaming Is Raising Prices Faster Than Cable Ever Did More than half of consumers want live TV and streaming in one package  LG Smart TVs caught listening even with the screen off Stan from Pittsburg sent us a link to an article (LG Smart TVs caught listening even with the screen off) at FlatpanelsHD claiming LG smart TVs collect more data than many owners realize — including with the screen off. What the investigation found LG TVs use ACR (automatic content recognition): they snapshot what's on screen, including HDMI sources, for ad targeting. FlatpanelsHD notes this has been industry-wide for years, not unique to LG. The TVs scan the local Wi‑Fi network, identify other devices, and send back data such as IP address, location, and nearby network names. Voice features can transcribe speech after "Hi LG." The mic can stay active 10–15 seconds after silence. Researchers reported recording/transcription even with the display off, and that locally stored data can upload later when the set reconnects (including for a firmware update). That last point is presented as conflicting with LG's claim that its TVs "do not collect, record, or store ambient conversations." LG had not commented when the article ran. Flatpanel's Recommendation Turn ACR off if you can, or take the TV off the internet and use an external streamer (Apple TV, or Roku.). Firmware can be updated via USB instead of online. ACR is an old, industry-wide problem and it's unclear why the article focused only on LG. They still argue the mic/network findings are worth attention. They also link their earlier piece ranking Apple TV 4K as stronger on privacy because it doesn't do this kind of viewing tracking. Update - In a statement sent to Tom's Hardware, LG said "The claims made in the recently published video are not true. LG TVs process voice data only when the voice button on the remote control is pressed and held, or when a wake word such as 'Hi LG' is recognized after the user has activated the Far-Field voice recognition feature. Other than these instances, the TVs do not collect or record ambient conversations. (If the wake word is not recognized, no voice data is transmitted to the server; the audio processing for wake word detection is performed locally on the device and is immediately deleted.)" Dolby AC-4 One of our listeners, Scott, sent an email asking us to discuss Dolby AC-4 so that is what we are going to do today! Dolby AC-4 is Dolby's next-generation audio codec for broadcast and streaming. It was designed as a clean-sheet replacement for the older Dolby Digital family, not as a tweak of it. Compared with Dolby Digital Plus, AC-4 aims for similar or better quality at roughly half the bitrate. It natively handles channel-based audio, object-based Dolby Atmos, dialogue enhancement, loudness control, multiple language tracks, and different renderings for speakers vs. headphones in one bitstream. There are several profiles/levels: Level 3 — the version widely built into TVs (broadcast/OTT Atmos-style delivery). Level 4 — fuller Atmos metadata, including headphone/head-tracking features. IMS (Immersive Stereo) — a stereo-plus-metadata flavor used for Atmos music on phones and headphones. Is it backwards compatible? No. An AC-4 bitstream cannot be decoded by a Dolby Digital (AC-3) or Dolby Digital Plus decoder. Old AVRs, soundbars, and TVs that only know DD+ (AC-3) will not play AC-4. What is compatible is the playback path in new TVs and set-top boxes. Those devices decode AC-4 internally, then output whatever the next box needs: PCM stereo, AC-3, DD+, or Atmos over HDMI. So the living-room chain can still work; the codec itself is not drop-in compatible with older Dolby formats. Services that must reach mixed old/new hardware still send DD+ or AAC as a fallback. Devices that support it AC-4 decoding is common in UHD TVs shipped since about 2017, especially models that already license Dolby Audio (Dolby has said it is in a large majority of new UHD TVs). Early public commitments came from Samsung, Sony, and Vizio; it is also in many Android TV / Google TV platforms and some Amazon Fire TV devices. It is not universal: Pre-~2017 TVs, most older soundbars/AVRs, and a lot of cheap streaming sticks do not decode it. ATSC 3.0 ("NextGen TV") tuners are the main over-the-air path in the U.S.; tuner support is still incomplete across brands and model lines. Most consumer AVRs still expect Atmos via DD+ JOC (Joint Object Coding) or TrueHD, not a raw AC-4 bitstream from the source. Note - JOC  allows an Atmos-capable TV, soundbar, or AVR to use the "JOC" metadata to build the immersive mix. An older DD+-only device ignores the extra data and just plays the core 5.1 Studios and television Broadcast is the main home. AC-4 is an official audio system for ATSC 3.0 in the U.S. and is adopted by DVB in Europe. NextGen TV stations can (and some do) use it for Atmos, dialogue enhancement, and multiple presentations. Immersive AC-4 on U.S. OTA is still uneven; many 3.0 stations have not yet gone full Atmos. Streaming is later. Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV+, and most other major video services still deliver Atmos as Dolby Digital Plus + JOC. Peacock has publicly committed to AC-4 (alongside Dolby Vision 2), with rollout described as later in 2026. Atmos music already uses AC-4 IMS on several apps. Studios still master Atmos the same way. The delivery codec is chosen per platform: cinema TrueHD, most streaming DD+ JOC, NextGen TV and a few future streamers AC-4. AC-4 is in the pipeline; it is not yet the default living-room streaming format.

Danielle Nicolet's journey stands as proof that mentorship and community make big dreams possible! This TV and film star's directorial debut, Long Time Listener is now streaming! When her mom joined a cult, Dani became emancipated at 15 and began supporting herself with roles in commercials, and on Family Matters, and 3rd Rock From The Sun. In fact, her first TV credit is Urkel's first kiss!Dani joins Weezy and Lisa to reflect on her scenic path that began with early roles on  Step By Step, Loaded Weapon 1 andThe Jacksons: An American Dream, where she provided Jermaine Jr. with his first kiss! It had become a specialty. In 2015, Dani began playing Cecile Horton (Virtue) in 107 episodes of The Flash. And since she had already voiced Storm in The X-Men for years, she became one of very few performers to traverse both the D.C. and Marvel universes. Training for years as a child gymnast established a hard work ethic that met with the encouragement she received from Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart on the set of Central Intelligence, which served as a career turning point. They both believed that she has the mind and the heart of a writer/director. Kevin produced Danni's first short film, Black Karen which you can now find on Peacock.Dani's debut feature, Long Time Listener is a thriller about a true crime podcaster who becomes a killer's target. You will find it streaming everywhere and free of charge on Tubi.Very short on time and budget, Dani was able to pull this film together with a tight group of friends and allies, including her husband, whose talents and support brought depth and breadth to her vision.Plus, What did this true crime junkie learn about the explosive popularity of murder mysteries with women? She's got theories. In IMDB Roulette we hear about Dani's front row seat to a Brandi/Leann Rimes sing-off on Moesha,  the mentorship she received from Samuel L. Jackson on Loaded Weapon 1, and we learn why she will never turn down life advice from Joseph Gordon-Levitt!In media recommendations -- Lisa: Showtime reality series, Couples TherapyWeezy: Mr. Burton (2025), available for rent on streamingPath Points of Interest:Long Time ListenerLong Time Listener on IMDbDanielle Nicolet on WikipediaDanielle Nicolet on InstagramDanielle Nicolet on IMDbCouples TherapyMr. Burton

Nobody thinks Obsession has visual effects. That's the point. Peter Timberlake, the VFX supervisor behind one of the year's biggest indie breakouts, joins Chris and Daniel to break his silence on work so subtle most audiences never register it as VFX at all. The centerpiece is the character Nikki: rather than fighting to escape the uncanny valley, director Curry Barker asked Timberlake to push straight into it, mismatching her facial expressions on purpose so her eyes tell one emotional story while the rest of her face tells another. The result reads as a performance choice, not an effect, and it's exactly the kind of restraint the team wanted. Peter walks through why the studio debated whether to talk about this work publicly at all, and lands on a simple answer: nothing he says can take anything away from the lead actress's performance. Before Obsession, Peter built his career the hard way: driving to LA with two thousand dollars, sleeping in a parking lot, and landing his first industry job cleaning dishes at Framestore. He went on to found his own studio, Queen Studio, in 2018, work at Weta and The Mill, and eventually build the small, scrappy team that shot Obsession in twenty days after blocking the entire film shot for shot in Unreal Engine before a single frame was captured. Chris and Daniel dig into what indie filmmakers can actually learn from this: planning replaces budget, ownership replaces plug-and-play pipelines, and the best VFX work is often the kind the audience never notices. (2:00) Vinnie consulted with a client who was struggling to feel stronger despite 4- and 5-day workouts. (16:15) Recovery between workouts is essential; it is part of the process of building muscle and strength. Vinnie shares advice on how to plan the week and get appropriate recovery between workouts. Exercise is a poor way to lose weight; however, it's a great way to help support longevity by preserving muscle, strengthening bones, and managing insulin resistance. (26:00) Roseburia is an intestinal bacterium, and recent studies claim a correlation between Roseburia and grip strength. (35:45) Study out of Finland: people who drank more coffee had less total and abdominal fat, more muscle, and healthier metabolic markers, even at the same BMI. (51:00) What is TOFA, and what does it allegedly do? (54:00) It is an acronym for "5-tetradecyloxy-2-furoic acid," which may help weight loss without muscle loss. The claim is that it shows more pronounced benefits when used alongside certain GLP-1s. But it has plenty of downsides, too. (56:30) Once again, there is no free lunch in nature. Everything has a cost. Weight loss shouldn't be done with a pill or a substance if we can avoid it because you miss out on the dietary adaptation and learning the right habits. They discuss how dietary messaging has changed over the years. (8:00) Whole foods, including animal proteins, are the optimal way to get nutrients. (15:00) They discuss CGMs and how helpful they can be for awareness of what certain foods do to your blood glucose. (20:30) Your body responds to everything you eat; however, some foods raise glucose levels more than others. A CGM can help you discover your personal response and bioindividuality. They discuss the U.S. Food Pyramid and RFK's take on it. Following the previous dietary guidelines has not helped; in fact, it seems to have made things worse. For example, approximately 40% of the U.S. military members are overweight because of food served in military commissaries. (32:00) The Magic Pill documentary is fantastic viewing. (33:00) Vinnie asks Gary his opinion on GLP-1s. (41:00) The mechanisms in the body when using a GLP-1 are very similar to being on a low-carb, ketogenic diet. (44:00) Significant weight loss requires keeping protein levels up to help offset muscle loss. (48:00) Exercise is very important, and can help with loose skin. The Third Rail They discuss Gary's experience during the COVID pandemic, or "the third rail." (57:30) He also shares thoughts about the recent hearings where Anthony Fauci and he "pleaded the Fifth" 111 times. The result of the pandemic is a percentage of the population realizing not to mindlessly follow medical authorities, which is good. Stay inquisitive and question what comes across the news and social media. Alcohol dampens T-cell lymphocytes' function; ketones will boost them. Liz and Sarah discuss that one of the biggest advantages of having a writing partner is being able to take turns bringing each other up when one is down. Right now, Sarah is feeling the chaos of their career, but Liz is calm and optimistic.  Next month? It will likely be the opposite! In Take A Hike, they talk about how their recent visit to KCON made them appreciate the joy of rehashing. Then, in The Craft (& Fain), Liz and Sarah explore how getting granular with their characters' wardrobe is bringing clarity to their latest pilot. This week's Hollywood Hack is giving Sarah joy in the kitchen: the Cuisinart Custom Convection Bread Maker. Finally, Liz recommends the current season of Married At First Sight on Peacock. (3:00) He was really looking forward to catching up with a few people. Several years ago, Vinnie did an episode about a previous class reunion. (6:00) In that episode, he shared a lot of thoughts about classmates. He was concerned for classmates who appeared to have many health concerns at a relatively young age. At this reunion, however, he was pleased to see how many people were in better shape and health. It was also nice because the atmosphere among the guests was more relaxed. They discuss brunch the following day and the chaos that followed. (33:00) Are donuts and beignets really a breakfast food? Vinnie shares his experience while visiting his parents. (48:00) They went to a restaurant where Vinnie ordered something that seems pretty harmless. Vinnie drives a lot for his trips, and they discuss how a good road trip can be good for the soul. Microdramas are taking over the internet. But are they art – or products? The Double Life of My Billionaire Husband. Break Me, Princess. Married the Mafioso I Saved. These are all titles of microdramas that are taking the internet by storm. In case you haven't heard, microdramas are often campy shows with short, minute-long episodes. The first few episodes get posted to social media for free, but viewers must go to another site where they can pay to watch the whole thing. And a lot of people do. It's an industry that started in China and is already worth several billions of dollars – so Hollywood is getting in on it. Issa Rae's microdrama called Screen Time got nearly 75 million views in its first week, and now, Peacock, Fox, and Disney are producing their own. But this microdrama boom raises a few questions: who are these stories for, and what makes them so popular? And is the microdrama a new art form – or is it solely a product?Brittany is joined by Chang Che, a freelance writer who wrote about microdramas for The New Yorker, and Xochitl Gonzalez, author and contributor at The Atlantic, who wrote about them there. For more episodes on what we're watching and why, check out:People are struggling financially. (10:00). She became dehydrated quickly. Unfortunately, instead of a rescue story, it has turned into a mocking of large people. Vinnie puts a call out to find her. He wants to offer her free help. (18:00) What would Vinnie suggest morbidly obese people can get started on a weight loss journey with him? (23:00) He always tries to "meet people where they are at." Anna visits many online forums related to eating and lifestyle. (28:00) People are constantly trying to find substitutes and "game the system." Redefining what a real treat is is the best idea. Anna has questions about the different forms of powdered protein. (40:00) The form of whey protein is whey protein concentrate, not whey protein isolate. If Vinnie ever uses powdered protein, it's typically an egg white protein. It's bro-science that you have to eat within a certain window after working out. (44:30) Casein proteins release slower into your system than whey or egg white protein. (48:00) Anna's going to Scotland, and has an idea for her coffee and tea while traveling. (50:30) She found a heavy cream powder that she likes and can travel with. https://www.amazon.com/Anthonys-Fillers-Preservatives-Friendly-Product/dp/B01A03E494/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=AR1Q9Q8SCM1V&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.T2dpI1AgPdHkbz9bkqVYIMxFKj6D5sx0G17iaOS577_ZSwXalQx7BdDR40SlWXDEd_yHKPg9POxlFB041CIr15V2NWd5DdWpeTyHxb_99kEmEfTJRXqNAyDNJzR3EA63dwADQyxd8IMbSWm5dN0qa6nEqLbvKt7HIgEemf02bPeVlNvLQgFA5vnGQvYSmgCSro3C3OB4zSBDroY6_0aOq4xXSecXYcxL2BA3U17FiIYtyq2I9g4uv20p-mzhaP-1kC0wImGc7Pf7F4AYKz7o802PfObWBTFWaUEu_4S3FR8.H96FakdmjmYzcmDYHMj5aaET93iTe5t2NSQcTwQhU_s&dib_tag=se&keywords=anthony%27s%2Bgood%2Bcream%2Bpowder&qid=1785364588&sprefix=anthony%27s%2Bgood%2Bcream%2Bpowd%2Caps%2C208&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&th=1 Check out the Aletha Hip HookTM that Vinnie uses to reduce pain and increase mobility: You can purchase your own through Vinnie's website here: https://vinnietortorich.com/hook Anna's products are now linked to PureVitamin Club's website.
