An episode from Cornerstone Baptist Church, a conservative, independent body of King James Bible believers located in Carthage, TN. What Cornerstone Baptist Church believes:The Bible says in 1 Peter 4:11, “If any man speak, let him speak as of the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” Our heart's desire is that God may be glorified in all things as we seek to minister to others. Cornerstone Baptist Church was started in 1991 by a group of people who wanted a church where the Bible was the final authority, not tradition or denomination. Since that time, God has blessed the effort of that initial group and the vision has been broadened and refined as the years have passed. As we have sought the leadership of the Holy Spirt and with a desire to “seek the old paths”. There are a few ministries which seem to be the “earmarks” of our church. First would be Bible preaching and teaching, in order to “perfect he saints”. We have also seen a great response to the challenge of World Missions as we continue to support more missionaries each year. One of our goals is to minister to the entire family and emphasize the importance of Bible based homes. This of course leads to a lot of training for the youth, and a particular emphasis on character. With these areas of emphasis, we also strive to exercise grace and allow the saints room and time to grow in the Lord. Christianity is not a Sunday religion It is not a performance. It is a relationship with Jesus Christ which matures with time and effort. Cornerstone Baptist Church is an independent, fundamental, mission-minded Baptist church that holds to the following: Salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ aloneThe King James Bible as the preserved word of God & our final authority The virgin birth of Jesus Christ The deity of Jesus Christ The pre-millennial return of Christ to this earth The eternal security of ever true born-again believer The gospel as the death, burial & resurrection of Jesus Christ We resist the contemporary music & mega-church philosophy Our first meeting was in a tent in 1991. We organized as a church in October of that year and have witnessed the merciful hand of God through these years as we have grown in Christ through old fashioned preaching, praying, singing and genuine concern for the saved and the lost alike. There is something deeply elemental about doors. Something lurks in our minds, possibly from our days living in caves, that profoundly impacts the way humankind’s subconscious reacts to doorways. ‘Opening Doors’ is metaphorically equivalent to obtaining opportunities. What prizes await behind Door Number Two? ‘Making an Entrance’ is to become the center of attention. As a matter of fact, the word ‘Entrance’ means both ‘Doorway’ and ‘Fill with wonder.’ So let’s take a moment to admire this doorway before we move through it. Except, there are people behind us. And there are folks coming the other way that need to use the door. Have you ever entered a room and forgotten why you entered in the first place? Cross the threshold with Mat, Veronique, and Guest – Chauncy Thomas – as we forget to even step into the room and instead, blissfully entertain in the space between two places, like a clog in the toilet, we stand Blocking Passageways! *Grumbles are specifically off-the-cuff, no research went into this grumble. _____________________________________ Support the show and become a Grumble Kid! "What I wanted to say about the global dimension of caste was to look at it from the subjectivity of its victim. So Dalit as a subject takes a central place in this text, and this Dalit subjectivity travels to nearly 15 countries with us [the diaspora]. These constituents are similar but the geographical, political and local [elements] that interact with it give a new dimension to caste. Though it is a global story, it is also a very particularly localised form of caste that we see operating in different parts of the world. So, there's no blanket statement that caste the way it operates in India operates the same way in Trinidad, US, UK... Every situation is different." - Suraj Milind Yengde, author, Caste; A Global Story talks to Manjula Narayan about Dalit activism abroad, how the first celebration of Ambedkar Jayanti in the US was held at the historically Black college of Howard, the Punjabi Buddhists of UK, the idea of 'Brahmin by boat' among Indians in the Caribbean, the othering of Dalits within Indian organisations even at elite universities in the US, the triple diasporas of Fijian Dalits, and more. The incident lasted approximately eight hours from noon to 8 PM ET, impacting major services including Microsoft 365, Teams, Xbox Live, and critical infrastructure for Alaska Airlines, Vodafone UK, and Heathrow Airport, among others. The root cause was an inadvertent tenant configuration change in Azure Front Door that bypassed safety validations due to a software defect. Microsoft’s protection mechanisms failed to catch the erroneous deployment, allowing invalid configurations to propagate across the global fleet and cause HTTP timeouts, server errors, and elevated packet loss at network edges. Recovery required rolling back to the last known good configuration and gradually rebalancing traffic across nodes to prevent overload conditions. Some customers experienced lingering issues even after the official recovery time, with Microsoft temporarily blocking configuration changes to Azure Front D
For students in China, the high-pressure race toward the "Zhongkao" defines their early youth. Now, a pilot program in Chengdu is eliminating this decisive high school entrance exam for some students. The radical move promises relief from an immense academic burden, aiming to give students back their childhoods. Yet without this single, universal benchmark, some wonder if the path to a bright future has become clearer or far more uncertain. On the show: Steve, Yushun & Xingyu

The traditional music for the circus, "Entrance of the Gladiators", wasn't actually written for the circus at all, instead when it was composed on 17th October, 1899, it was in fact intended to be a military march. Julius Fučík composed it, in part, to showcase the cutting-edge capabilities of the era's brass instruments, which had become quicker and more precise than ever before. In this episode, Arion, Rebecca and Olly investigate how a sober military march ended up being associated with clowns and trapeze artists; explain what circus music would have sounded like before big bands took over; and reveal which song you should listen out for that traditionally tells circus performers if there is a fire or an escaped wild animal… Further Reading: • ‘Julius Fučík ‘Entrance of the Gladiators': Roll Up Roll Up!' Tonight, we'll read the 32nd chapter of “Anne of Green Gables”, the classic 1908 novel by Lucy Maud Montgomery. This chapter is titled “The Pass List is Out” In the last episode, Anne spent a carefree summer outdoors with Diana, as per the doctor's advice for her health. The time in the fresh air left her revived and eager for the new school year. As autumn arrived, she threw herself into her studies under Miss Stacy's inspiring guidance, with the looming “Entrance” exams casting a shadow over the year. Socially, Anne enjoyed parties, sleigh rides, and skating, while at home Marilla reflected with bittersweet feelings on how much Anne had grown. Anne herself became quieter, favoring thoughtful reflection over chatter, and focused on improving her writing through Miss Stacy's critiques. With just two months before the exams, Anne worried about passing—especially in geometry—while determinedly pushing herself to succeed. — read by 'N' — Sign up for Snoozecast+ to get expanded, ad-free access by going to snoozecast.com/plus! In this episode, AJ and Johnny reveal how to make a magnetic entrance—one that commands attention, sparks curiosity, and creates an instant window of opportunity. Drawing on Princeton research showing impressions form in just a tenth of a second, they unpack why body language and micro-behaviors matter more than anything you say. You'll learn the difference between the “nice guy entrance” that keeps you invisible and the deliberate, charismatic entrance that signals composure, awareness, and confidence. From posture and pauses to eye contact and subtle acknowledgments, AJ and Johnny show you how to turn heads the moment you walk through the door—and how to convert that attention into influence with what they call conversation radar. Bible Reading: John 10:7-10Ryan lay flat on his back in the cool green grass, watching the fluffy clouds floating across the sky above him. When he glanced over at the tall trellis covered with Grandma's rambling roses, he noticed it almost reached the small balcony with the slider door that led to the guest bedroom. Ryan scrambled to his feet and darted toward the house. I bet I can climb up to my room, he thought. He put his foot on a low trellis slat, pushed away a few roses, and began to climb. He stretched his arms, caught the balcony railing, and swung himself up. But before he could crawl over the railing, his foot slipped. He screamed, and the big pink roses zipped by as he fell to the ground."Ryan, can you open your eyes?" asked a faraway voice. "Can you hear me?"Ryan blinked and slowly sat up. "What happened?" he asked."You had a bad fall," said Grandpa. "We need to take you to the emergency room to make sure you don't have a concussion."After returning from the hospital with a clean bill of health, Ryan felt embarrassed about what he had done. "I wanted to climb onto the balcony to get into my room," he said. "I thought it would be more fun than just walking in through the door, but it wasn't fun at all!"After dinner, Grandpa read from the book of John. "Your experience today reminded me of these verses," he said. "They say Jesus is the door to eternal life. We may think we can get to heaven by going to church, helping neighbors, giving money to charity, taking care of animals--doing all sorts of good things. But just like you couldn't get into your bedroom by climbing the rose trellis, none of us can get into heaven by doing good things.""Right," said Grandma. "We can only get into heaven through Jesus. He is the door. Only He can save us from sin and give us eternal life." Ryan nodded. "I didn't use the door when I tried to get into my room today, and that was a disaster. I'm glad I'm going through the door to heaven by trusting in Jesus!"–Lois A. TeufelHow About You?Did you know that Jesus is the door--the only way--to heaven? Or are you trying to get there some other way? There is nothing you can do to work your way to heaven. You must simply come through the door. Jesus loves you so much He died to save you from sin so you could spend eternity with Him. Trust Him as your Savior today.
