Unfortunately for Masters of the Universe, the 80s-tv show inspired live action adaptation barely scraped more than $29 million - a true bust for a film that cost more than $170 million to make. Horror darlings Obsession and Backrooms are still ruling the roost at theaters, both having crossed over the $200 million threshold this past weekend.Here's the news you didn't know you wanted, Hugh Jackman is set to star in a Ridley Scott-directed adaptation of the truly classic novel Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. Adolescence writer Jack Thorne will pen the script that stars Jackman as the pirate Long John Silver himself. The original novel was published in 1883 and has been adapted many times.The project is ready to be bid on by all studios. Netflix has announced an official title and revealed a logo for an upcoming Ghostbusters animated series which will officially be titled Ghostbusters: Nightshift. The series is expected to debut sometime in 2027. The upcoming John Wick spin off series currently titled Caine has added Bill Nighy, Dacre Montgomery, and Mason Thames to the cast. The series is being directed by martial arts master Donnie Yen and is currently in production in Budapest and Hong Kong. Netflix has revealed a first look at Scooby Doo from the upcoming live action Scooby Doo series which will premiere sometime in 2027. A short teaser was also released online to make the reveal. This will be the first time the iconic character will be played by an actual dog. Deadline has reported that Jason Momoa is departing PlayStation Productions and Sony Pictures' film adaptation of Helldivers, based on Arrowhead Game Studios' video game franchise, from director Justin Lin. The reason for his departure is unknown.

On episode 232 I am joined by Bernard Jackman, a former professional rugby player, coach, and now a performance consultant, guest speaker and respected voice in Irish sport. Bernard is a former pro Rugby player who played for Connacht, Leinster, Sale Sharks and an Irish international. He has been head coach in FC Grenoble, France and at the Dragons in Wales. Bernard is one of only a small number of Irish rugby players to have won a Six Nations, European Cup, Challenge Cup and a Magners League Medal.Since retiring from professional rugby he has moved into coaching and high-performance leadership. Bernard has built a diverse career across coaching, media, athlete development and performance consultancy, working with teams and organisations both within and beyond rugby. His work has also extended into other sporting environments, including collaborations with Horse Sport Ireland and involvement around the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Jackman grew up on the Wicklow/Carlow border he grew up on a cattle farm which led to a different path to elite sport. We discuss how this affected his career and upbringing. Bernard shares his advice to parents with children on the elite sporting pathway and also offered insights to current athletes on developing their professional development and working during their sporting career. A major part of Bernard's professional development came through his master's research, where he travelled across the world studying some of the leading high-performance teams and organisations in sport including Manchester United, Dyson, Sydney Swans, Toyota, Melbourne Storm, Just Eat and more. Probably Good provides broad guidance. BlueDot, MATS, Talos build skills for specific cause areas. But mid-career professionals with real commercial experience keep coming up as underserved. ‘Song Sung Blue', a story of hope amidst a tragic love story. Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson star as Mike and Claire Sardina, aka Lightning and Thunder, a duo Neil Diamond tribute act that got major attention in Milwaukee. The film is based off a documentary about the couple with the same name, that was released in 2008. Before working together on this project, Jackman and Hudson didn't really know one another – meeting a few times but not in any great detail. But for a movie like this, where the relationship between the two leads is the basis of the film, that can be a risk. “On day one, Kate said to me, you know, if we don't work, this movie doesn't work,” Jackman told Mike Hosking. “And she was right, but I had a lot of confidence.” “I had a strong sense that it was gonna be great, but I didn't know it was gonna be this great or this easy.” For Hudson, things clicked into place when the two kissed for the first time. “It's like we've been kissing each other for years,” she said. If you often feel depressed, anxious, victimised or disappointed, you may be carrying a heavy load of unresolved emotional pain.  Psychotherapist and author Robert Jackman suggests that this pain, and associated patterns of behaviour, often stem from our lost inner child. This is a Tribute episode to Allan Sherman, one of the greatest song parodists who ever lived. He emerged from nowhere in the early 1960s to become one of the biggest selling musical artists in the pre-Beatles era.His album, “My Son, The Folksinger”, released in 1962, shot to the top of the charts, and became the fastest selling record of its time. It captured the entire country. His next album, “My Son, The Nut”, featured his biggest hit, “Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah”, about a boy writing home to his parents from summer camp. It was written to the tune of Ponchielli's “Dance Of The Hours”.Before he became a musical star Sheran was employed in television, where he came up with the idea for the show “I've Got a Secret”.His musical ascendance was meteoric. He played some of his song parodies to Harpo Marx, his neighbor, who invited him to perform them at some dinner parties. George Burns was at one such party and he urged his friend at Warner Brothers Records to sign Sherman. “Sarah Jackman”, sung to the tune of “Frere Jacques”, became his first hit after President John F. Kennedy was overheard singing the song in a hotel lobby.Sherman's musical career peaked in 1963, but then, following the assassination of JFK and the emergence of The Beatles and the other British Invasion bands, his career waned and it was over by 1967. Sherman died at age 49 in 1973.
