This meditation gathers together several statements that confirm and remind us of the truths of being 'in Christ'. If we are made by God for doing good, given everything we need to accomplish what God has prepared already for us to do, might we then conclude that there is nothing that can keep us from doing it - except our own choices? It is our choice to trust and live in the belief that what God has planned can indeed be accomplished with and 'in Him'.Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. Today's meditation is based on selected verses from Psalm 19. As you listen to today's meditation let the words be written in dashes of light on your being. Creation says not a word, yet we hear and see the craftmanship of God everywhere. From the sun, moon and stars, to the mountains and the oceans it all displays greatness beyond our abilities. We cannot make or recreate what God has done or is doing. We can only participate. The fourth thing we are to do is to be thankful to the God of the universe. As we know, to practice is to rehearse a behavior repeatedly, for the purpose of learning and eventually mastering a skill. Learning to praise God is no different. In the practice we often uncover things about ourselves that we didn't know – perhaps its our distain for discipline or maybe we don't like expressing ourselves in an outward manner. Praising God is a posture of the heart. If we practice praising Him, we will be surprised at the ease in which we turn to Him this way, when things are difficult, and praise seems an unlikely response. Listen and then, yes, practice it. The Psalmist says in the Message translation, Sing songs to the tune of his glory, set glory to the rhythms of his praise. There is a rhythm even to these words: the tune of His glory and the rhythm of His praise. He gives us the words, the praise to give back to Him. God fills our mouths with song. It bursts from our hearts and we can't hold back from the majesty of Him. Even the earth, all that is in and on it, worships God. In Him we live and move and have our being. In the future, beyond time, in an eternal now? If that is so, might our faith, when expressed as trust and belief transport our spirit to God's throne where we declare with confidence our trust in God's goodness, His power and that His will be done here as it is already done in heaven? Listen closely as the scriptures reveal truths for you to live in, to believe today – for your life – today.Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. Wisdom is a gift from God. It is more precious than jewels, and more valuable than money. It cannot be measured yet we know it is must be sought. God says to ask for it. And only with God's help can we understand what He gives us. Let God open your mind to what His wisdom will do for you and in you. Just ask Him. Peter laid out for us the progression for growing up, for maturing as adults. They are choices we make in behavior forming our character. From faith to goodness to knowledge, we apply our understanding and trust God to add and increase our capacity for goodness and more knowledge. It is in our search for more of God that we receive so much more – causing us to grow up into the persons God designed, and desires us to be. Memory is a precious tool. Our brains store thoughts and emotions for us to retrieve later. Through practice, we train our brains to retrieve these thoughts bringing to our consciousness for use. We take for granted we will remember all we have been taught, but without practice of retrieval and repetition we are likely to forget, to not remember. God tells us to β€˜remember' – who He is, what He has promised and who we are to Him. Practice remembering. Listen repeatedly to His truths about life, about us, and about Him. Understanding goes hand in hand with wisdom and knowledge. Each has a purpose and each supports the other. I love this saying from Proverbs: β€œPeople's thoughts can be like a deep well, but someone with understanding can find the wisdom there.” Patience and self-control make room for comprehension to assess the challenges they we face every day. Taking time to reflect and wait for God, helps us learn better ways to respond and love others.Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. In any relationship, the key to the relationship is communication. There are two important aspects to our communication with God - worship and prayer. Worship is often expressed in music, but worship is much more than being able to play an instrument or sing a song. True worship happens in our hearts. It is posture of recognition that the One who has our attention, also has our commitment to serve and honor Him. Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. There may be times in our lives when work feels mundane, where efforts fall short and we question our purpose. If we are God's child, we have a destiny that may never 'look' exciting or exotic. Yet, God has ordered our steps and written a plan that if we align and choose to follow is of eternal value - to Him and for us. As one translation says, "we have become His poetry," fulfilling the destiny designed specifically for us!Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. The Psalmist speaks from an honest and broken heart – addressing the brevity of life. It is a painful and sobering thought. Yet this prayer is to know how limited our time is. It is a cry for truth, even though it isn't something we like to think about or confront. As we listen today, will this cause us to live with purpose, knowing every moment is a divine appointment IF we choose to live in God's guidance? Might we truly guard our hearts and live in the light of God's directives rather than the shadows of fear and loss? Even in the darkness, God is with us.
