My guest today is Shyam Sankar, the CTO of Palantir Technologies. In this conversation, we explore the ideas that shape how Shyam thinks about technology, talent, and national power. We discuss the origins of Palantir's forward-deployed engineering model and the lessons he learned from Alex Karp about identifying people's "superpowers". We also talk about Shyam's fascination with the "heretics" of American history, the unconventional builders who challenged bureaucracy and created many of the systems that powered America's military and industrial success. Shyam argues that the United States must reindustrialize after decades of moving production overseas, and explains what we can learn from America's industrial past. In a new Colossus profile, our Editor in Chief Jeremy Stern tells the story of how Shyam became one of the most important but largely unseen figures behind Palantir, tracing his journey from immigrant roots to employee #13 and the architect of the company's success and distinctive culture. Send a textWelcome to Safe Dividend Investing's Podcast # 265 on March 7th of 2026. My name is Ian Duncan MacDonald, and I am the author of 7 investment books. My seventh investment book, Achieving Financial Independence Safely - 200 NYSE Stocks Analyzed and Scored" became available January 3rd on Amazon. You can easily find it by searching in Amazon or Google for "Ian Duncan MacDonald books". For more information on my other books and safe investing go to www.informus.caIn this week's podcast I ask the question, "Can Investment Advisors be Trusted". To  generate enough income to live on an advisor must service and sell a hundred or more investors.  The large financial institutions they work for provide bonuses and other incentives to push the investment advisor to exceed monthly targets. If these objectives are not achieved the investment advisor's job may be terminated. Being an investment advisor is a stressful job. To survive it can result in investment advisors bending the rules. Some financial institution turn a blind eye to practices that are not only shady but pure theft.  Before you turn over your life savings to an investment advisors consider the warnings in this podcast. In my first investment book, "Income and Wealth from Self-Directed Investing" I went into detail in how an 80-year-old widow was not only robbed by the investment advisor in one major bank but also by the investment advisor in the second bank she had transferred her investment portfolio to.  Her attempt to  find an honest investment advisor had failed. She then followed my directions and became a successful self-directed investor who was able to  recover the hundreds of thousands she had lost as a full service investor with the two major banks.I have been retired for 20 years and living very well off my investments. My high net worth continues to grow year-after-year along with my high income. I own no ETFs, no mutual funds or bonds. 100% of my portfolio is in financially strong, high dividend paying stocks. Even when the share prices declined in the market crashes of 2008 and 2020 my dividend income grew and was not impacted.I select the stocks by scoring them.  My background was in building large commercial risk scoring systems that rated millions of companies for banks, insurance companies and trade suppliers. To me stocks are just another form of commercial risk. My objective is to show investors how to safely invest.Ian Duncan MacDonald Author and Commercial Risk Consultant,President of Informus Inc 2 Vista Humber Drive Toronto, Ontario Canada, M9P 3R7 Toronto Telephone - 416-245-4994 New York Telephone - 929-800-2397 imacd@informus.ca

463: Dan Brouillette of Lumen Crunches the Data to Find the Best Hops

Dan Brouillette has always worked in creative fields—he was a professional photographer before launching Lumen in the waning days of the pandemic—but he's always been particularly attracted to the technical aspects of creation. Like every IPA-focused brewer, he's on a neverending search for the most expressive, layered, and interesting hops. But he's also found that the information upon which many brewers rely when choosing hop lots often tells an incomplete story. Total oil numbers can be misleading, as they include oils that don't survive the brewing process; hops that smell good relative to others at selection may not have high enough oil concentration to punch through in finished beer. Brouillette has found that using past chemical data paired with his own sensory can be far more effective when seeking out hops that are going to give him the impact he seeks. In this episode, Brouilette shares: how spreadsheets are often a better tool for selecting hop lots than the old-fashioned rub his process for earmarking specific hop compounds at certain thresholds to ensure they're effective in beer designing different types of hazy IPA that appeal to different use cases and drinkers achieving beautiful hop expression in hazy IPAs with less than 4 percent ABV brewing hazy IPA with only 40 percent base malt And more. “We're brewing our World Beer Cup beers right now, and those will be much different than a beer that I want to make Top Drops on Instagram,” Brouilette says. “They're just different audiences. We don't brew one type of hazy IPA. There are different segments and sub-styles within the style, and we brew all of those.” G&D Chillers G&D's new Elite 290 Micro-series runs on a Natural Refrigerant with near-zero Global Warming Potential—built for brewers who care about sustainability and performance. They recently built one for New Belgium Brewing, delivering around 50% energy savings over CO₂ systems and 9% more efficiency than A2Ls. In "Is Your ERP a Data Graveyard: How to Unlock Millions with Nauta's Valentina Jordan", Joe Lynch and Valentina Jordan, Co-Founder and CEO of Nauta, discuss how structuring fragmented data turns supply chain silos into actionable revenue. About Valentina Jordan Valentina Jordan is the Co-Founder and CEO of Nauta, where she is re-engineering supply chains through clean AI data infrastructure. Previously, Valentina led product for Rappi's largest business segment, helping build and scale the core product stack behind Latin America's largest delivery platform, before bringing that same operational rigor to leadership roles at Amazon. At Nauta, Valentina brings a product-first, systems-level perspective to rethinking how supply chains operate, tackling the industry's most foundational challenge: building clean, structured data infrastructure that enables smarter decision-making. About Nauta Nauta is the AI-native operating system that connects your inventory, logistics, and procurement data into one intelligent layer. By acting as an intelligent membrane over existing ERP, TMS, and WMS systems, Nauta eliminates "data graveyards" by unifying fragmented data from emails, documents, and spreadsheets into a single source of truth. The platform moves beyond simple visibility, providing SKU-level insights and automated workflows that allow shippers to proactively manage exception handling and cash flow. Trusted by multinational leaders in the food, beverage, and retail sectors including distributors for brands like New Balance, Modelo, and L'Oreal, Nauta manages data for enterprises representing over $15B in annual sales. SOC 2 Type II certified, the platform empowers manufacturers and retailers to reduce container lifecycle times, prevent stockouts, and eliminate costly penalties like detention fees. Nauta's mission is to provide the standardized "rails of data infrastructure" necessary for truly autonomous and resilient global supply chains.  Key Takeaways: Is Your ERP a Data Graveyard: How to Unlock Millions In "Is Your ERP a Data Graveyard: How to Unlock Millions with Nauta's Valentina Jordan", Joe Lynch and Valentina Jordan, Co-Founder and CEO of Nauta, discuss how structuring fragmented data turns supply chain silos into actionable revenue. The "Data Fragmentation" Mess: Global shippers are stuck with data trapped in emails, PDFs, and clunky legacy systems. This chaos forces teams to waste 75% of their day babysitting spreadsheets instead of making moves that actually scale the business. One Single Source of Truth: Nauta fixes this as an AI-native engine that pulls those messy data streams into one place. From finance to procurement, everyone works off the same live data—killing "tribal knowledge" for good. The Real Cost of Stockouts: For brands like Modelo or L'Oreal, a stockout isn't just a missed sale; it's a hit to your reputation and a massive financial penalty. Nauta shifts you from reactive "firefighting" to proactive prevention. Saving Millions in Revenue: Using predictive analytics, Nauta's inventory engine flags risks weeks in advance. One customer even saved $1.2M in a single quarter by dodging retail penalties and lost sales. Killing "Dry Runs" and Fees: Shippers pay for empty trucks because they can't see what's happening at the port. Nauta's predictive tech and automated communication can slash detention costs by up to 80%. SKU-Level Control: Most platforms track the box; Nauta tracks the product. We map data down to the individual item, so you know exactly which vessel is carrying your high-priority promotional stock. Smarter Procurement: With SKU-level insights, your team can make surgical decisions—like rerouting high-demand items before they even dock—ensuring the right product hits the right shelf every time. Stew tears apart the fake pretext for Trump's war on Iran – a blatant Zionist conquest funded by AIPAC and the Rothschild banking cabal headquartered in the crime state of Israel. From bombing Iranian schoolgirls to sacrificing Gen Z soldiers at Mar-a-Lago parties, this isn't America First; it's Israel First, orchestrated by Jewish blackmail operations and satanic elites who rape sovereignty and kids alike. Max Igan drops the bomb: These Jew-controlled pedovore monsters have welded America and Israel into a demonic genocide factory—sniping Red Crescent ambulances, unloading 900+ rounds into helpless medics and survivors, then finishing the job execution-style. Pure Tribe barbarism! This is the Greater Israel blueprint: Mass-murdering Arab kids, bulldozing cities into dust, and erecting swanky resorts plus their filthy Third Temple for ritual child sacrifices atop pyramids of goy bones.

The labor market is evolving faster than traditional signals of competence can keep up. Roles are shifting, technology is accelerating, and employers are searching for clearer ways to identify real capability. In that environment, degrees remain valuable, but verified skills are becoming increasingly central to hiring and advancement. In a marketplace now saturated with more than a million credentials, clarity has become the differentiator. Some credentials function as marketing tools. Others function as infrastructure for trust. The difference lies in independence, rigor, defensibility, and industry validation. In this conversation with Kathleen McNally, CEO of NOCTI, we explore how high-quality third-party credentials create reliable signals for employers, meaningful exit value for learners, and actionable tools for educators. From ISO-backed certification standards to performance testing and stackable micro-credentials, this episode reframes credentials as essential infrastructure for a more agile, skills-driven economy. In this Episode:Why employers are shifting from degree-first to skills-aware hiringWhat separates a participation badge from a legally defensible certificationHow micro-credentials create flexibility without sacrificing rigorHow “exit value” changes the way we think about graduationWhy performance-based assessment strengthens workforce confidence3 Big Takeaways1. Verified credentials are strengthening the signal in a fast-moving labor market. As job roles evolve more quickly than traditional degree cycles, employers are seeking precise indicators of job-ready capability. Third-party certifications developed with national industry input provide measurable proof of occupational and technical competency.2. Quality and independence determine whether a credential carries real weight. With more than a million credentials available, rigor is what separates noise from trust. ISO-aligned, legally defensible certifications built through independent subject matter experts reduce hiring risk and create consistency across regions and employers.3. Micro-credentials are enabling lifelong learning with structure and momentum. Stackable certifications allow learners to document specific competencies at any stage of their career. Whether entering the workforce, reskilling mid-career, or adding new capabilities such as AI literacy, credentials create flexible on-ramps and sustained pathways for advancemenWe want to hear from you! What kind of mom puts her baby in a river? A faithful one. In this episode of the Gather Moms Podcast, we continue our Bible Moms series with the powerful story of Jochebed — Moses' mother — and what her courage teaches us about doing what we can… and trusting God with the rest. Her story (Exodus 1:22–2:10) unfolds under a terrifying decree: every Hebrew baby boy is to be thrown into the Nile. Jochebed hides her son for three months. When she can't hide him any longer, she builds a waterproof basket, places him strategically among the reeds, and stations her daughter nearby to watch. This isn't reckless surrender. It's intentional faith. And here's the detail you may have never noticed: the word used for “basket” is the same word used for Noah's ark. Moses is placed into a mini-ark — another story of God rescuing someone through water in the midst of evil. Hebrews 11 tells us she acted by faith. She did not fear the king's edict. She feared God more. And though she gets her son back for a season, she eventually has to release him again — raising him only to let him go. Her story holds both grief and joy in the same hand. This episode is for moms learning to surrender outcomes they can't control. You may not determine the ending — but you can build the basket. In this episode, we talk about: The second step of Bible study: interpretation — what does it mean? Why the Holy Spirit is our greatest guide when reading Scripture The powerful “mini-ark” connection between Moses and Noah The difference between being a strategic mom and a steamroller mom How to hold grief and joy at the same time Where you may need to “shore up protection” in your child's life What it means to trust God more than cultural pressure Scripture referenced: Exodus 1:22–2:10; Hebrews 11:23–24; 1 Corinthians 2:11 Next steps:Join us on Gather Moms Patreon as we continue our “Luke for Lent” series.
