This Daylight podcast, from CFO North America, offers a daily time of focused listening and silence. Worship God and let his Holy Spirit guide your heart to a place of rest and restoration.

Take a moment to consider what it means to have the Spirit of God dwell with us, in us! It is an immense concept and truth. Our belief in Jesus as God's Son, God's deposit of His Spirit in us to protect and seal us as His own, creates a bond, a preservation of holiness within us and with Him. May we honor our relationship with God's grace and love toward us.Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. The first section of the third chapter of Colossians tells us about our identity. These verses instruct us as to how we should live. As God's children, as those who have His character within us, His virtues are our virtues. God's way of responding in love, demonstrating how to love, is our mandate as well. Prayerfully engage God in your day, asking Him to be love through you to those who are hard to love, who need to be loved, who will see love only as you love them.Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. To be chosen by God! What an honor, what a responsibility, and indeed we called for both. By faith, by hope we leave our nets and follow the Man who can see who we will become – for we shall be like Him, those who hold no record of wrong, who are gentle, kind and rely on God to work within us this life-transforming image of His Son, Jesus.Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. James tells us, . . . faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead (James 2:17). And he goes on to explain that we can say we have faith all day long but the proof is in the pudding, so to speak. If we do have real faith, it will play out in our actions. We can believe a chair will hold us up and then the resulting action of that faith will be that we actually sit in the chair. We may say that we believe in God but what do our actions show? Do we live out that faith, that belief in God, by actually living our lives yielded to Him?Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. Jesus knew who He was, which gave Him the confidence to live humbly as one who could serve others and not feel slighted, or overlooked. He modeled humility because He believed in His identity and knew God loved Him. God reminds us to 'be content with who you are', for in this we will be aligned with God's intent for why we're here. There is perhaps only one way to live in a place of inner peace. We try to impagine it as silence and solitude. God says it is His peace that transcends all understanding. It is beyond comprehension, yet it exists in our relationship with Jesus. Our surrender is to Him, not to nothingness. It is by keeping our thoughts on what is true and real – on Him, that we find true rest and a peace-filled life. It is the Lord of Peace who has already given us peace. Trust Him. Today we consider God as Elohiym, a God of power and might. In the book of John, we learn ‘Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.' Such a singular and complete statement. All that exists was made by God. Light, life, love, our world, and the universe. In His was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. Light is life - the essence of us and of God. Come and listen to the truth about Elohiym, our great God above all gods.Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. How often do we stop to think about who we are? God wants us to know that He made us, purposed us to live here and now. The Psalmist says it well, ""You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something."" May we love our Father who loves us in the everlasting realm of always. When we have pure hearts, we can see truth, life and love. It is God's desire that our choices are for the goodness of others, to store up love that will flow like a river from our lips, refreshing our families, our friends and whomever we meet. All are thirsty. Everyone needs to be loved, to belong, to know they matter – to someone. We can only imagine what a garment of praise might look like! Is it glowing, does it move with the music, with our hearts of joy? The earth belongs to God. The kings of the earth belong to God. Consider the implications of this truth as you listen to this Psalm. As His people, we are given seats of royalty – not to mistreat or misuse our position, but to bring honor to our great God of all creation, of all rule, of all the universe. May be live as those who are humbled by His attention, and attune to His commands. Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. This meditation has two parts. The first one, today, postions us. We are to listen as sheep listen and obey their shepherd. We are to trust, that we will be fed, and protected. We are to believe that goodness and mercy are with us every day of our lives. This establishes our thoughts and keeps us from wandering away from God's best for us. Scripture tells us ‘No weapon formed against us will prosper' and in this Psalm we are reminded that it is our great God who breaks the bow and shatters the spear. This meditation gathers together several statements that confirm and remind us of the truths of being 'in Christ'. If we are made by God for doing good, given everything we need to accomplish what God has prepared already for us to do, might we then conclude that there is nothing that can keep us from doing it - except our own choices? It is our choice to trust and live in the belief that what God has planned can indeed be accomplished with and 'in Him'.Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. The Psalmist speaks of disaster – mountains melting and oceans roaring, nations out of control and kingdoms falling. In the midst of it all, God is our refuge. God's voice replaces the destructive forces with a power that is greater than the oceans and mountains, greater than kingdoms and rulers – even the earth must obey. We are safe in His city. We cannot escape death, regardless of our social status. We cannot buy our way out of the final decree of life – that death is our physical destiny. Yet… God opened a way for us to live – to escape the totality of being dead forever by sacrificing His own life on our behalf. The result is life beyond the grave. God has redeemed us so we can move from grace to grace, and be transformed from the physical realm to the eternal one. Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. Today's meditation is based on selected verses from Psalm 19. As you listen to today's meditation let the words be written in dashes of light on your being. Creation says not a word, yet we hear and see the craftmanship of God everywhere. From the sun, moon and stars, to the mountains and the oceans it all displays greatness beyond our abilities. Are you tired? Do you wonder when and if the demands on your time will ease? We know we need to carve out time to rest, yet it is an easy thing to trade for getting one more thing done. The truth is only as we trust God with our lives – the very moments of each day, will be able to let go of the work, the plans, the projects, the schedules, the demands that interrupt and the weariness of it all. Peace is from God. We try to generate it, duplicate it and think that by saying it, it happens. It is a spoken word originating from God and given to us. Words are life-giving, or life-taking. Accepting peace is an act of our will, and a posture of our heart through which life is reproduced in the fullness of God-likeness as we carry about the life of Jesus in us. As you listen today, think about being ‘with God'. What does that mean to you? We often think about God being ‘with us' but what does it look like to be with Him?! One can argue it is the same – and yes, it is. However, our perspective shifts with the phrasing – with us vs. with Him. Might we challenge ourselves to go with Him, do what He does and say what He tells us to say? Might we sit quietly as we listen and let Him be the leader for the day? Where will we go? What will we do? Let's ask Him.Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. Please visit CFONorthAmerica.org to learn more about our retreats, and online courses. In this meditation we are reminded of four things. The first three are that we are to pray with an alert mind, to be cheerful no matter what and that whatever we do or say, to do it as one who represents Jesus. The fourth thing we are to do is to be thankful to the God of the universe. Choosing to be alert, cheerful and honoring of our position as Jesus' ambassadors, positions our minds and hearts to recognize and realize our breath is from the God of heaven and earth. As we know, to practice is to rehearse a behavior repeatedly, for the purpose of learning and eventually mastering a skill. Learning to praise God is no different. In the practice we often uncover things about ourselves that we didn't know – perhaps its our distain for discipline or maybe we don't like expressing ourselves in an outward manner. Praising God is a posture of the heart. If we practice praising Him, we will be surprised at the ease in which we turn to Him this way, when things are difficult, and praise seems an unlikely response. Listen and then, yes, practice it. Most of us are reluctant to be vulnerable with others. We view our flaws and mistakes as faults, and weaknesses. We don't want to be ignored, or dismissed. We fear rejection. Yet, perfect love – God's love for us, in us and through us – removes fear. We are freed to be real, authentic people who pursue God and others. People need to know that are loved – right where they are. Right now. Only by being honest and real, will others feel safe and be willing to risk being loved, trusting love, accepting love. Surrendering is a tough concept. Only with God is it a safe bet because He is good and His intentions toward are always for our best. The flip side of surrender is trust. Today's meditation is taken from Psalm 66. It is exciting when God hears us. Imagine! Creator of the Universe hears us! Each of us. When we call… He answers. How amazing! It's something to tell others about. Have you noticed God's care for you? Has He answered when you called Him? Today's meditation is Psalm 66, verses 1-6. We often sing of God's glory but do we take time think about what that is? His glory? The Psalmist says in the Message translation, Sing songs to the tune of his glory, set glory to the rhythms of his praise. There is a rhythm even to these words: the tune of His glory and the rhythm of His praise. He gives us the words, the praise to give back to Him. God fills our mouths with song. It bursts from our hearts and we can't hold back from the majesty of Him. Even the earth, all that is in and on it, worships God. In Him we live and move and have our being. May we not hold back, or restrain ourselves from speaking the truth of who He is – King of the Universe. Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. God's thoughts about each of us are more than the sand on the earth. Knowing these thoughts focus on His love for us, we can trust Him to take care of us. We can keep company with Him, be open with Him and know that He will never stop doing good in our lives. We can, indeed, trust Him with all that we have, all that we are, all that we have yet to experience. Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. Today's meditation is from Psalm 65, verses 9-13. These verses are so poetic! “Visit the earth! Ask her to join the dance! Paint the wheat fields… scatter rose petals down your paths…” our imaginations soar. The creativity of God and of man to dream of God's interaction with creation in such a way is heartening. It lifts our spirit and reminds us that God is involved in the process of growth and every thing that lives on the earth. Let the earth rejoice, indeed. Today's meditation is Psalm 42, verses 6-11. “May the Lord show his constant love during the day, so that I may have a song at night…” I love that phrase. When sorrow flows and we are overwhelmed by chaos, it is in the night that our fears seem to raise the questions we've suppressed during the day. Can we sing in the night? Can we turn the shadows of darkness into rays of hope and remember to thank God, to praise Him for His constant unfailing love? Those words, are the key – constant and un-failing. A love for us that can't be washed away by chaos, that can't be erased by how I feel in the moment. I will put my hope in God. Nothing and no one else. Today's meditation is Psalm 65, verses 1-8. Neither day nor night has a voice yet each speaks of God and His power. The utter greatness of God is on display throughout creation – from the ocean waves pounding on the shore to the night sky bright with light from billions of years ago. As we discover more, we realize how little we know about God and how very little time we devote to getting to know Him, the one who knew us first. Who loved us before we were born. Father, forgive us our trespasses… may we slow down in order to be amazed by You. May we change course, in order to align ourselves with You.
