We never grow tired of belonging, of being someone's child. The greatest honor is to be God's child, one who 'looks like' his or her father, one who knows they can go home and enjoy the truth of belonging. Only when we know our Father is near by can we relax and enjoy our place of rest. Let this time of listening, remind you that you are home, no matter where you are.Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. Jesus overcame the world, and He helps us overcome our by living in His peace, because we have the Holy Spirit of peace. Our troubles are not light nor do they seem momentary, but it is our perspective that must be adjusted. Only in light of eternity, with the view of God's presence and our hope for an eternal future will it all look different. If we will look beyond the physical world we live in and step into His kingdom which is also here, His peace is also in reach we will experience life instead of a dying moment. Our energy will be renewed and our hope restored in the midst of pain and trouble, indeed. Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. In the beginning, God set many things into effect. In His creating, He did not just make provision for one day, but put various laws into motion to carry on the "creating" from day to day. If we want a good return in/for our lives, the first thing to do is to sow good seeds. And what are those good seeds? In Luke's gospel, chapter 8, Jesus tells the parable of the sower. "This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God (verse 11)." Good seed is the word spoken by God and, consequently anything spoken by us that aligns itself with that word. What does your garden look like? It is filled with the products of your words. Your words produce your surroundings. Whatever we give out, is what we live in.Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. Please visit CFONorthAmerica.org to learn more about our retreats, and online courses. The spacious, free life is from God. It is more than a phsyical freedom. God has removed the chains of depression and dark thoughts opening our minds and freeing us to really live, no matter our circumstances. It is only our perception that keeps us bound now. See, really see what the Lord has done. Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. Please visit CFONorthAmerica.org to learn more about our retreats, and online courses. In Proverbs we are encouraged to fill our thoughts with God's words until they penetrate deep into our spirit. As we unwrap His words, they will impart true life and radiant health into the very core of our being. The result is living in the power of God's love which sees no record of wrong done to it.Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. The amazing fact of being 'in Jesus' is that whatever happens in our lives, whatever we do, God has promised to work it toward His purpose for us. It means our best intentions, may fail, our hard work may not be enough - but God is. God takes eternal perspective on our everyday life and says, "this is good. I can work with this." It is the perspective of redemption, every day.Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. Please visit CFONorthAmerica.org to learn more about our retreats, and online courses. It is easy to look for the result and ignore or be impatient with the process. Such is true with being a branch in Jesus and waiting to 'bear fruit'. We point to love, joy and peace and the outcome, and they are. We try to be them, make it happen yet it is only by being connected to the trunk and root of the Vine, and allowing the flow of nutrients to the full extent of who we are that we participate in the development of fruit. Remain in Him and you will enjoy the process of becoming one who offers the fruit of peace to those who need the refreshment of peace.Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. We're invited to join God in His work. Each of us has a role, we've been given many gifts and we're called to use what we have and who we're made to be. Yet, even in this, it is the Lord who completes the work in us and through us. We need only to be open and available.Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. Being honest with ourselves is the first step to being vulnerable with God. It is knowing we need Him that frees us to begin to trust Him with examining our souls. We are fragile, made of earth, easily broken, and not easily fixed. We ask Him to take a look, wondering if this particular break is beyond His care, His abilities. He knows we are small and unsure. Yet our trust opens our hearts to the true nature of God - revealed in every word He speaks. When He breathes on us, the fog of doubt is lifted, and we see ourselves as He sees us.Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. We are told Christ's resurrection is our resurrection too. Wow! Might that we would embrace that truth and realize we are "living letters written by Christ, not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God". Let us believe this and know that we carry within the glory of the King of the universe. As you listen to these scriptures, contemplate the ways God shows His care for you. No matter where you are, where you go, or what you do, He is always right there with you. Listen to the truths about God and His patience. The enemy of our souls, Satan, would have us believe the lie that God is not kind enough, or patient enought or loving enough. Each of us needs to know, to believe that our heavenly Father will not toss us aside, or tell us we're just no good, or remind us of our failures. That is not His way - the truth will always be - He has all the patience in the world - and so much more.Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. There is only one voice that speaks on our behalf. It is God Himself, who took our judgement and set us free. He is the only who has the right to condemn us but He never will. He took our sin, our guilt on Himself. There are people we admire. They face the difficult situations in their lives with a sense of purpose, yet are pliable to God's greater purpose. Every child learns what is right, how to live well through the careful and kind guidance from a parent or parent model in their life. The truth about our Father God is that He has the same purpose, models the perfect role as parent with us as well. As His children we are subject to His guidance, His leading, His discipline - "for God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him." God guides us, directing our steps so we will pattern our decisions by what He knows is best for our development and maturity.Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. What is our purpose, and once we understand it, how do we stay in the center of what's best for us? Jude said it best, "carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, staying right at the center of God's love, keeping your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ." The truth about our Father God is that He has freed us from the lies that say we are not worthy of love, that we are not good enough, that we are failures, so don't try anymore. Regardless of your physical condition, your emotional state of mind, or what you have been told - the absolute truth is - in Jesus, you are free. Choose to believe the truth. Throughout the Scriptures we see reminders of the value of living life well. The sage advice cautions that life is short, yet the perspective is that there is more! We don't often think of God in a position of validating us! Yet, that's what He desires to do. God's way of living is one of having a tender heart toward those less fortunate, and compassion for those who are lonely and forgotten. God doesn't ask for rule keepers. Instead, He looks for those who know love restores hope, covers shame and heals broken hearts.Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. The end of this Psalm sounds like everyday life. We go from having a good time, from living in confidence to being attacked without mercy and feeling lost. Our conversations with God, follow our experiences – from thanks to please help! There's comfort in knowing we're not alone – especially when we feel down. God is still near, and yes, He hears us. Remember this – as our God of mercy, He hears, He cares and He answers.Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. It's interesting that one of the instructions we often hear is “to let peace rule”. The issue here is not so much that peace should rule, there's no question about that! It is the instruction of letting it rule – of allowing it to control our thoughts and actions, our words and our attitude toward others. Father, may we allow You, the giver of perfect, unchanging peace truly rule our thoughts, our actions, our words and our attitudes today.Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. How do we balance our ability, desire and need to choose with letting God lead us? If we are tuned in to God's heart and if our desire is to do His will, we will be led into our destiny as He designed. The desires of our heart will align with His and we will find fulfillment, and purpose in our lives. He often cautions us to ‘wait' and ‘be still'. No matter where we are in our age, career or life stage – these words are sage advice. The theme for today's meditation is Always Safe, based on selections from Psalm chapter 91 and John chapter 14. We are God's children. As we finish our time considering our home with Him and what that looks like, He reminds us of the safety we have in His presence. We are not to fear the darkness, the beasts or disease. We are to cling to Him, to call to Him, to trust Him. He is our protector, our father, our keeper. In Him our identity is confirmed.Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. We look at the universe and wonder how was this done?! Was there a plan? How might we see it or even understand it? We explore space and examine the creation and death of stars. The theme for Today's meditation is Confession based selections from Jeremiah chapter 14; Psalms chapters 32 and 66; 1 John chapter 1; Proverbs chapter 28; Matthew chapter 12; Hosea chapter 14; and Romans chapter 6. Guilt and confession. There's a line between them. Pull on one, and you affect the other. In God's economy of the heart, this is the key: admit the wrong and receive forgiveness. It is a healing of the soul. Burdens are lifted and hope is renewed. Trust God with your heart and your health. Freedom reigns in the lives of those who live honestly with God. There are few in our lives that we will trust with our hearts. There are few people in our lives whose word we trust as well. It is important that we realize God can be trusted – with our desires, our concerns, our hopes and our fears. He keeps His word to us – that we are loved far greater than we can imagine, that He will protect us and has good plans for us. He will guide us and surround us with His peace – which is beyond our understanding. Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. The theme for Today's meditation is Running the Race based selections from Galatians chapter 5; Amos chapter 5; 2 Timothy chapters 2 and 4; Hebrews chapter 12; Romans chapter 5; Proverbs chapter 18; 1 Corinthians chapter 9; Philippians chapters 2 and 3; and Isaiah chapter 40. Throughout Scriptures we are encouraged to run with endurance. Endurance comes from practice, from training and from a commitment to finish what we've started. In this case, it is to see our faith to its end. To finish our life here having done all we could do to be faithful to the one who loves us most. We are cheered by those whom God has chosen to walk with us - no, to run with us – along side as we depend on each other for encouragement and support. It has always been God's desire to dwell with us and this desire is fulfilled through our belief that Jesus is our Savior. He has bridged the gulf between heaven and earth, coming to us through His Holy Spirit placed in us and through His resurrection, in which we have already risen with Him, from the perspective of eternity. We are encouraged to trust that Jesus is indeed coming back for us while we trust Him as well to lead and guide us where we are now. It is in His house we want to live, and with Him, always. Each sentence of this meditation is advice for staying the course, trusting God will lead us down pleasant paths to pleasant places. He know our future, He knows the best roads to take, He knows what is coming and He knows the experiences we need with Him to be prepared, to be trained and to be in a place where we will turn to Him first, not last when difficulties come. He patiently asks us to trust Him, to go with Him and live expectantly. We can talk with Him and He will listen and instruct. It is with Him and in Him, that we live, and move and have our being.
