He’s been teaching language arts-related subjects for 10 years, including ninth grade English, sixth to ninth grade reading, reading seminar and newspaper. He has a bachelor’s degree in education, English, and a master’s in instructional design and technology from Emporia State University. As an “awesomeness expert,” Stock’s passion for teaching and enthusiasm for all things learning are contagious, which comes through in his presentations. He’s an active speaker and has recently appeared at industry events such as the Mid-America Association for Computers in Education Conference, the ISTE Conference & Expo, the National Council of Teachers of English Conference and the Kansas Department of Education Conference.

Josh loves getting great books into the hands of kids who want to read them. Over the past five years he has given away over 4000 used books and 2500 new books to kids across the district. Josh is also the author of the book Awesome Sauce: Create Videos to Inspire Students, Engage Parents and Save You Time, giving tips and tricks for creating videos for the classroom. Josh was selected as one of the National School Board Association's “20 to Watch” educational tech leaders in 2016, and received the Make IT Happen award from the International Society for Technology in Education in 2017. In 2018 he received the Emerging Young Educator award from ISTE.
