Here we are at the end of second week of Advent, but it's never too late to start a new spiritual practice. This bonus episode from Common Grounds is all about Advent as a spiritual practice. Host Karin Peter joins Katie Harmon McLaughlin as they explore the invitation of Advent to slow down and intentionally wait in the tension that the season brings. This episode first aired on December 1, 2018. At that time Katie was the Spiritual Formation Specialist for Community of Christ. Katie now serves as the Director of Formation Ministries. In this reposted episode, host Zach Urness talks about the mythic Grove of Titans, a collection of the largest redwood trees on earth, located just south of the Oregon and California state line. This podcast, which originally published in 2021, focuses on a recently completed trail system that provides access to the Grove inside northern California's Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. Previously, the grove was closed after overuse and crowding brought damage to the trees and surrounding forest. Zach details what makes the Titans, which rise 320 feet and are 1,500 years old, so unique and special. He also details the history of how the grove was discovered by scientists and big tree hunters in the 1990s and then subsequently damaged by overuse and internet fame.

Let's celebrate Thanksgiving 1970s-style, by watching Martin Scorsese's concert documentary of the last performance by The Band (or at least the Band with Robbie Robertson still part of it). It's not just a concert, of course--it's a meditation on the end of the 1960s counterculture, bookending Scorsese's earlier work in Woodstock. We also have an interview with Mary's mother about cinematography, editing, and keeping up with music when you age out of youth culture. Starring Rick Danko, Levon Helm, Garth Hudson, Richard Manuel, Robbie Robertson, Eric Clapton, Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, The Staples, Dr. John, Muddy Waters, Paul Butterfield, Ronnie Hawkins, Ringo Starr, Ron Wood. Directed by Martin Scorsese. This is a reposting of a recent episode without any copyright issues, to get past YouTube's blocker.

In this episode of the Awake & Winning Podcast, Kaylor is bringing back one of the most requested, hardest-hitting conversations he's ever had—with cardiologist and COVID-19 early treatment pioneer Dr. Peter McCullough. This powerful repost dives into how the medical system handled the pandemic, why most doctors refused to treat patients early, and what really drove the lockdowns, masking campaigns, and mass vaccination push. Dr. McCullough shares his behind-the-scenes view from big academic hospitals, how the McCullough Protocol for early outpatient treatment came to be, and why he believes the medical establishment turned its back on patients in the name of fear and liability protection. He also breaks down spike protein toxicity, his spike detox protocol, and what may actually help people dealing with long COVID or vaccine injury. If you care about medical freedom, informed consent, and never repeating the last few years, this repost is essential listening. Episode Highlights: medical freedom, early COVID treatment, McCullough protocol, vaccine injury, spike protein detox, hospital malpractice, liability protection and the PREP Act, long COVID vs vaccine damage, government and media fear campaigns, medical establishment censorship, wellness company COVID kits, how to talk to friends who still trust the narrative Takeaways: The moment Dr. McCullough realized something was deeply wrong with the COVID response Why early outpatient treatment was ignored while hospitals stayed empty and scared How courage, not compliance, shaped his role in the counter narrative The tangled web of government agencies, pharma, and liability protection What really differentiates long COVID from vaccine injury The basics of the McCullough spike detox protocol and why it focuses on natural compounds How to approach friends and family who still fully trust the official narrative If this episode lit a fire under you, don't keep it to yourself. But that is not the case when referring to Christ's mission and the Reign of Christ. In a time where people of color in the United States face new and escalating marginalization, we at Faith Unfiltered thought it timely to re-post this timeless conversation about faith and courage. Join Katie Langston as she interviews Vivian Jenkins-Nelsen, a social worker, scholar, and anti-racism activist from Minneapolis who was awarded the Presidential Volunteer Service Award from Barack Obama. Vivian shares her remarkable faith journey: growing up as the daughter of the only Black Lutheran pastor for miles and miles around, becoming deeply involved in the Civil Rights Movement with Dr. King, doubting her Christian faith, and eventually claiming a place in a faith tradition that did not always welcome her with open arms. Sean Jansen is a freelance writer and seasonal wilderness guide in Yellowstone National Park. He's intense, slightly awkward, and deeply committed to dancing with the more raw frequencies of human experience. I love this guy. During his off-season from guiding, he partakes in a litany of expeditions from thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail to his recent trip, standup paddling more than 1,000 miles down the Baja Peninsula of Mexico. Through recovery from alcoholism, he has moved into a van and spends his time flying fishing trout streams, training for ultra-marathons, and searching the coast for unsurfed waves. With a passion for wilderness and wild places, he often takes his pen and paper on trips and finds ways that the outdoor recreation activities he loves can give back to conservation and environmental areas in need.
