We have several dangers in live, but there is a thing that is the greatest danger. People today are become apathetic about what is going on in life and in the church. Having an attitude of I don't care is detrimental.

Elder Radley share a Great Prayer from the Apostle Paul.
As believers in Christ, we should desire to walk in a manner worthy of the Name we bear, because He has made us His own… so that our lives will bear fruit and bring us into greater intimacy with God. “For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” [Colossians 3:3]

For centuries philosophers and scientists have argued over what makes life meaningful. Many of their suggestions echo an ancient letter written by Paul, a first century Jesus follower. Find out how their thoughts gain even greater significance through what Jesus has done, which frees us for A Life Worth Living.

Colossians 1:9-14
The message this week is all about how to prepare our heart to honor God. We have the great privilege of being adopted into the family of God and with that comes great responsibility to live a life honoring our Heavenly Father. So how do we do that? We do that through an intentionally committed life of prayer and making Godly choices with the power of the Holy Spirit. We focus on a prayer that Paul prayed for the Colossians and we personalize that for us today. Listen in and memorize this prayer along with us and live that honoring life...

Today in the sermon, Pastor Parks will be coming out of Colossians, speaking on these three points. 1. Reasonable Joy 2. Reinforcing Joy 3. Redeeming Joy.
The apostle Paul would traditionally open his epistles with a prayer, and these prayers can be quite moving, and quite revealing. The prayer at the beginning of the Colossian letter is not only a beautiful prayer, but opens up to us what this brother in Christ hoped all churches and believers would experience--a life worth living, and worthy of God.

What we will study today is that the redemption we have through Jesus Christ our Lord should be our chief reason in life for expressing gratitude.

Prayer is not just something Christians should do when things are rough. We need to be constantly in prayer, and we should be praying for all believers.

Exemplify Christ to all who you meet and who see you.
9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; 12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
We are good at praying reactive prayers to the challenges of our lives, but what about proactive praying?
The Village Church
It is commonplace for Christians to wonder what God desires for their life. Should I get a new job? How do I deal with my boss? What should I say to my Friend? Yet the Bible simply does not, and cannot, address these specific questions. Yet that does not mean that we do not know what God wants from us! Here Paul tells the Colossians what he prays for them, and give us a glimpse of what God's will is for our lives: to live as an image of Jesus in the world.

The church of Jesus Christ exist for a reason, and it is when we forget the purpose of the church that Jesus bought with His own blood, that the church goes astray, it amazing how much of what the Colossians were facing we are facing in the church today! in this message we continue our study
We exist for the praise of the glory of God’s grace in Christ Jesus. Everything we do as a church must bring glory to God in the name of Christ Jesus. We are an intergenerational church. We strive to make a seamless journey of faith from birth to old age. We are overtly trinitarian. We are always looking for the work of the Father through the Son by the power of the Holy Spirit. We value people. We present the ideal of God’s plan while embracing the reality of life.

We believe prayer matters because it is how we can KNOW God’s will, 9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, Colossians 1:9 15 For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, 16 I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. 17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. Ephesians 1:15-17 20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. John 17:20-21 and receive the power to actually DO God’s will. 10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, 12 and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. 13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:10-14 23 So they nominated two men: Joseph called Barsabbas (also known as Justus) and Matthias. 24 Then they prayed,“Lord, you know everyone’s heart. Show us which of these two you have chosen 25 to take over this apostolic ministry, which Judas left to go where he belongs.” 26 Then they cast lots, and the lot fell to Matthias; so he was added to the eleven apostles. Acts 1:23-26 25 “Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26 I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.” John 17:25-26

The second message in our series on Colossians. We take a look at what the apostle Paul prayed would be evident in the lives of the believers in Colossae. Their relationship with Christ, was going to effect the way they lived and matured in the faith. The same lessons for them, hold true for us today.
