Send us a textWe've been told to “do the work,” “fix our mindset,” “heal our trauma,” and then we'll be whole. But what if all that self-help work is actually keeping you stuck? In this episode, I challenge the lie that your marriage, identity, or future depends on you fixing yourself first. I share how the self-help movement sneaks into Christian women's lives, convincing us we're just one more breakthrough away from freedom — while subtly keeping us from the true gospel of surrender. If you've been spinning your wheels, exhausted by coaching, journaling, and striving to be a “better” version of yourself — this episode is your wake-up call. You were never meant to carry this burden. God's way is surrender, rest, and trust — and from that place, obedience and transformation flow. It's time to break the loop of self-focus and step into the freedom that comes from letting Jesus be the Savior... not you. If you've been telling yourself you're stuck...stuck in your career, your relationships, your spiritual growth, or your sense of purpose...this New Year's Eve episode challenges that assumption head-on. In this powerful solo reflection, Will explores a truth many people encounter during spiritual awakening but rarely talk about: that feeling of being stuck often isn't confusion or lack of clarity, it's fear of becoming the next version of yourself. This episode dives into the quieter, more uncomfortable side of modern spirituality... the part that doesn't promise instant manifestation, constant alignment, or easy answers. Instead, it looks at how awakening expands consciousness before it brings peace, why insight without action creates anxiety, and how real transformation begins with release rather than effort. You'll hear a grounded, honest exploration of:Why awareness doesn't automatically lead to changeHow identity shifts affect intuition development and decision-makingThe hidden emotional cost of staying “almost ready”Why growth often feels destabilizing before it feels freeingHow to recognize when a chapter is truly completeRather than offering resolutions or surface-level inspiration, this episode invites deep self-inquiry, the kind that supports genuine spiritual growth, clearer intuition, and alignment with your evolving soul purpose. If you're navigating awakening, questioning old beliefs, or sensing that something in your life has quietly run its course, this conversation is designed to meet you exactly where you are...without bypassing, platitudes, or pressure to pretend. Listen with honesty. Sit with what surfaces. And allow space for what's ready to begin.KEY THEMES & TAKEAWAYSSpiritual awakening doesn't always feel peaceful, it often feels unsettlingWhy fear is a signal of expansion, not failureThe difference between insight and integrationHow intuition strengthens when you stop betraying what you already knowWhy release is often the missing piece in manifestationLetting go of outdated roles, identities, and expectationsReframing “stuck” as a threshold of consciousnessSubscribe, Rate & Review! Start your new year with hope that goes beyond new diets, fitness programs, and the relentless pursuit of body perfection. In this heartfelt episode, host Heather Creekmore sits down with her former client, Lesley, to share her transformative journey from food and body image bondage to genuine spiritual and emotional freedom. Lesley spent years as a health and wellness coach, tracking every calorie, restricting food, and chasing a number on the scale—all while struggling with her own body image issues. She candidly shares how these patterns began in grade school, persisted into adulthood, and continued even as she helped others pursue their health goals. Despite her expertise, she found herself trapped by obsession and shame surrounding food, weight, and self-worth. Through Heather Creekmore's Body Image Freedom Framework, Lesley began to untangle the deep connection between identity and body image. Her story is honest about the challenges—grief, fear, letting go of control, and even stepping away from her coaching business—but it's also filled with hope and victory. Lesley discovered that true freedom came not from changing her body, but from changing her beliefs, surrendering her idol of body image, and learning to trust God’s gentle guidance through all the lows and highs. In this episode, you'll hear: How body image struggles often start early and shape identity The dangers of moralizing food, restriction, and attachment to the scale The life-changing power of shifting focus from external rules to internal cues and grace The role of faith and community in healing, surrender, and practical recovery How Lesley found peace, joy, and presence in her body—without chasing weight loss goals If you’re tired of repeating the same health resolutions and want lasting change, this episode is an inspiring invitation to start your body image freedom journey. What does it truly mean to make disciples? In this powerful four-part conclusion to the Commands of Christ series, we explore the Great Commission as the crescendo of all that Jesus commanded. Rooted in Matthew 28:18–20, this series calls us to move from inward transformation to outward multiplication. As we have spent four years treasuring, meditating on, and living out Christ's commands, we now step into the command to teach others to observe all things He has taught us.Have we allowed the commands of Christ to shape our lives so deeply that we are compelled to pass them on to others? What legacy of discipleship are we leaving behind for the next generation? As we conclude this four-year journey through the commands of Christ, we are invited into the very heartbeat of discipleship: to go, to teach, and to pass on what we've received. The Great Commission is not the end—it's a beginning. Jesus calls us to treasure His commands, not only in our study and meditation, but in our obedience and our sharing (Matthew 28:18–20). We've discovered that these 51 commands are not mere rules but revelations of Christ's character, windows into His heart, and pathways into deeper relationship with Him. From abiding in Him to receiving His power, from denying self to awaiting His return, each command has formed a beautiful mosaic of what it means to follow Jesus. Now, with full hearts, we pass the baton—encouraging every listener to continue in the Word, to keep treasuring His commands, and to go make disciples. Let us walk forward with boldness, knowing that Christ goes with us, and let us live in such a way that others see Him clearly through our lives. This is not just a podcast series—it is the ongoing call of Christ. May we hear it and follow Him faithfully.Want to go deeper in studying this command of Christ? In this concluding Mussar Masterclass (Day 110) of the Gate of Remembrance in Orchos Tzaddikim, Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe wraps up the chapter's 30 remembrances, emphasizing their power to soften and illuminate the soul, remove darkness, and instill constant awareness of Hashem's presence. He urges listeners to revisit and expand on each point daily (or weekly), as remembrance drives action and teshuvah.Key themes include: living with perpetual consciousness of Hashem's constant watch (like a king always holding a Torah scroll), rejecting grudges while remembering personal wrongs to seek forgiveness, and prioritizing inner spiritual growth over external validation. The rabbi stresses that true value lies in maximizing one's unique potential before Hashem, who believes in us even when we doubt ourselves. How does Jesus reach for us when we're convinced we can never return back to Him?In this week's episode of Latter-Day Lights, Tyler Christen—a returned soldier and lifelong Latter-Day Saint who spent years in and out of the Church—shares his raw, unfiltered journey through addiction, isolation, spiritual darkness, and repeated attempts to walk away from the Gospel. From battling the temptations of pornography and party culture in the military, surviving serious car accidents, grieving a miscarriage, and experiencing terrifying demonic encounters and sleep paralysis, Tyler describes what it felt like to believe he was beyond forgiveness... Until the night he finally gave in and cried out the name of Jesus Christ. From then on, doors began to open as Tyler found himself guided through dreams, spiritual impressions, and moments of unmistakable divine intervention that led him back to the scriptures, the temple, and a renewed sense of purpose in the Gospel. In this episode, Tyler talks about learning to recognize the Savior's voice and his realization of being a dream interpreter—all while discovering that the gifts of the Spirit are real.If you've ever questioned whether Jesus can still use you, Tyler's story is a bold reminder that Christ's grace can reach into the darkest places and turn a "lost cause" into a disciple on fire.*** Please SHARE Tyler's story and help us spread hope and light to others. ***To WATCH this episode on YouTube, visit: https://youtu.be/P9csAvu5PFw -----To READ Scott's new book “Faith to Stay” for free, visit: https://www.faithtostay.com/-----Keep updated with us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/latter.day.lights/Follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/latterdaylightsAlso, if you have a faith-promoting or inspiring story, or know someone who does, please let us know by going to https://www.latterdaylights.com and reaching out to us.

Parenting is full of tension—especially when love tempts us to smooth every bump in our daughter's path. In this "Best of Raising Godly Girls" episode, we revisit Episode 271: "How Making Life Too Easy Hinders a Girl's Character, Mental, and Spiritual Growth" featuring AHG Founder & Executive Director Emeritus Patti Garibay and Erin Kunkle, co-founder of MAVEN Ministries. Originally aired September 20th, 2025, this conversation explores the pitfalls of "lawnmower" or overprotective parenting and the lasting impact it can have on a girl's growth in character, resilience, and faith.  Erin and Patti dive into Biblical principles for equipping girls to persevere through challenges, problem-solve, and depend on Christ in everyday life. They offer compassionate insight for parents learning to step back, trust God's guidance, and allow daughters to face age-appropriate struggles—knowing that these moments cultivate courage, independence, and spiritual maturity.  Whether you're listening during a busy holiday morning, on a drive to church, or sipping cocoa by the fire, this episode offers encouragement and actionable wisdom. Parents will walk away with clarity on when to intervene and when to let God—and life—teach their daughters lessons that build lasting strength.  Scripture References:   James 1:2-4   Proverbs 22:6  Three Takeaways for Parents:   Step back and allow age-appropriate challenges to shape your girl's growth.   Encourage perseverance and problem-solving rooted in faith.  Trust Christ to lead your daughter's journey while guiding with wisdom and grace.  This "Best Of" episode is a must-listen for parents seeking to raise resilient, Godly girls who are equipped to walk confidently in character, faith, and independence.  Visit raisinggodlygirls.com for more encouragement and faith-based parenting tools.   Learn how to find or start an American Heritage Girls Troop in your community at americanheritagegirls.org.

If Jesus said that faith even as small as a mustard seed could move mountains…then why are so many of your mountains still standing?Unfortunately, Christian husbands living the nice guy lie are told that all they need is a teeny tiny speck of faith. If that's the case...then...Why is your marriage still stuck, your finances capped, your health unchanged, your inner world still heavy… even though you “believe” and you've been told that “even a tiny mustard seed of faith is enough”? In fact, many Christian husbands struggle with weak faith and stagnant growth in their marriage, finances, and personal well-being, despite believing the common teaching about tiny faith. In this teaching, I'm going to show you something that might upset a lot of Sunday school lessons:Jesus never talked about the small size of your faith. He talked about the nature of it.We're going into the Greek, the interlinear, and the actual word Jesus used. Then we'll look at what mustard actually does in the wild: it's invasive, dominant, environment-transforming. And you're going to see that the faith that moves mountains is not a cute, tiny speck… it's an invasive, aggressive, environment-changing belief that crowds out doubt, fear, and passivity.Once you see this, it will change:How you prayHow you fight for your marriageHow you go after healing, provision, and breakthroughHow you interpret “unanswered” prayers in your lifeAnd if you're a Christian husband who's tired of praying tiny prayers while your marriage slowly dies… this is your wake-up call. Heaven is not asking you for a polite speck of faith. Heaven is inviting you into a wildfire faith that rewires your inner world, rewrites your story, and forcefully invades the darkness and the world around you.Stop playing the polite Christian Nice Guy role. Start becoming a masculine force to be reckoned with.
