Have you ever considered what it truly means to know Jesus? How would you start that journey? In this program, Chip explores practical ways to deepen your relationship with Christ. He continues studying three simple practices Jesus modeled throughout the Gospels–that can help you build a more resilient faith- and develop a closer walk with Jesus.Main Points Introduction: How can we address the discipleship deficit? I. The problem There is a need for discipleship II. The invitation of Jesus Jesus invites us to a life of abundance and purpose. III. We must come to Jesus and learn from Him if we are to experience the life He promises We must take His Yoke and learn from Him. IV. Coming to Jesus is an event and a lifelong process of learning to follow His example and His teaching The event = salvation - John 3:16 The process = discipleship - Matthew 4:19 The person = the path - John 14:6 V. Jesus practiced “the way” of living in dependency on the Spirit and submission to the Father He came Before God He did life In Community He was On Mission 24/7 VI. Jesus taught His disciples what was required to continually experience the supernatural life He gave them Abiding in Christ - John 15:1-11 Loving each other - John 15:12-17 Witnessing to the world - Matthew 28:18-20 VII. Until we grasp “the heart of God” and the why of discipleship, we will be destined to methods and programs that lead to discouragement, legalism, or self-righteousness. Because of what Jesus did we can: know Him, love Him and serve Him. I have a very vivid memory of a specific church service about 10 years ago. My wife and I go into the worship center, find seats in our usual section, but the stage looks different. There are instruments I've never seen on our stage, and in a configuration that I didn't recognize. When the service starts, a group of people come out onto the stage in long coats, suspenders, moppish hair, and then the drum starts. The rap of the single snare drum (make sound) that I hadn't heard in that way before but have come to be very familiar with now. That service sticks out so much in my mind because that's the kind of effect For King & Country have. The experience was so exciting, so fresh, and the music itself had a similar effect. Since then, For King & Country have become one of the biggest names in Christian music as four-time Grammy winners with hit songs such as Crave, The Proof of Your Love, Fix Your Eyes, Priceless, Joy, and so many more. But they've also now ventured into other forms of storytelling, with movies they've been involved in like Unsung Hero and the new theatrical release of their Christmas Concert, Drummer Boy Live. Today's guest is Luke Smallbone, half of the duo known as For King & Country along with his brother Joel. In this conversation host Jason Wieland talks with Luke about how he sees Jesus show up in the songwriting process, the power of storytelling, how being a parent changes perspective, the special effect experiences have on us, and much more. I'm so excited to share this special episode of The Love Offering Podcast with you! Today, I'm chatting with my friend Brooke McGlothlin from Million Praying Moms about my new book, Everyday Prayers for Love. As we talk, we dive into some of the core themes from the book, including: Why prayer is such a powerful tool for navigating the challenges of motherhood and life. How living out the fruit of the Spirit can transform our daily interactions. The freedom that comes from fully understanding God's lavish and unconditional love. What it means to love our neighbors sacrificially, even when difficult. This conversation is so close to my heart, and I hope it encourages you to fully embrace God's love in your life. Love isn't just a feeling—it's a choice, an action, and a reflection of God's heart in the world. In this talk, Rev Lee discusses that we settle when we confuse temporary comfort with lasting fulfillment. We feel it safer to cling to the familiar, even when it limits us. True growth begins the moment we choose courage over comfort and trust our inner power to create something better. Recovery is not just about overcoming addiction; it's about breaking through the isolation that addiction fosters and allowing ourselves to be truly seen by another. To support and learn from journeys like Joe McDonald, please like, comment, and share. Join Joe McDonald as he reads and expands on the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, offering deeper understanding and practical advice for those on their recovery journey. In this session on Steps 5, 6, & 7, Joe discusses Bill Wilson's reflection that it's more logical to believe than not to believe, based on personal experience. The world reflects back to us how we think and feel, and this realization can be a critical point in recovery. In the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, Bill Wilson lays out the case that the world doesn't cause how we think and feel; it reflects back how we're thinking and feeling. When we feel powerless, it's often because we've tied meaning to experiences that don't originate from our connection to a higher power. This session emphasizes checking in with the Creator and aligning ourselves spiritually, just as AA teaches through Steps 5, 6, and 7.The spiritual process of recovery requires humility, and this reflection is key to overcoming challenges. By understanding that our experience in the world is a reflection of our thinking, we can break free from negative cycles and deepen our relationship with a higher power. To support and learn from journeys like Joe McDonald, please like, comment, and share. Have you ever heard and felt yourself wishing you could say what you meant, with conviction, without worrying about what other people thought or felt about you? If so, you're not alone. Every human being wishes the same thing, although most may never come into conscious awareness of such a truth. That's because the mind, body, and brain are built for auto-pilot, like breathing and digestion. Most thoughts are entirely rooted in the subconscious mind, an automated program. Until one awakens and begins reprogramming the mind, humans tend to do what they were taught to believe is essential to survival since childhood. In this episode of Breakdown to Breakthrough, Life Coach Lisa A. Romano explores how we can begin the process of becoming more authentic despite faulty subconscious childhood programming, which often has us seeking approval and fearing disapproval all outside of conscious awareness. Weaning yourself off from other people, is a facet of the divine inner transformational journey. Make 2025 your breakthrough year and join Lisa in her next live online course, beginning February 9th.
