I truly believe that you have the power to create the life you desire, and it all starts with shifting your perspective. It's time to take a closer look at ourselves and recognize the truth about our capabilities. We all have unique talents and strengths that can help us achieve our dreams but sometimes, we fall into a pattern of negative self-talk that prevents us from recognizing our potential. To break out of this cycle, I encourage you to cultivate a holistic approach to your life. This means focusing on your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. By taking care of yourself in all aspects, you'll build the resilience and confidence needed to overcome external obstacles. I also believe that a strong support system is essential to success. Surround yourself with people who uplift and encourage you. And don't be afraid to share your truest feelings and thoughts with them, as vulnerability can be a catalyst for growth. Remember, you are your own best experiment. Don't be afraid to try new things and explore different approaches. With an open mind and a willingness to learn, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. What you'll hear in this episode: [1:50] Who we are, how we see ourselves, and how we relate to ourselves is who we become. [5:00] What it requires for you to become what you want to be. [8:55] What I want to change right now. [12:30] The reason we get more of the same bad outcomes. [15:10] Challenge for listeners: Be your own science experiment. Nathan Koskovich, AIA and Ryan Gravel talk about how cities become what they are. How we impact them and how they in turn impact us. Ryan Gravel, AICP, LEED AP, is an urban planner, designer, and author working on site design, infrastructure, concept development, and public policy as the founding principal at Sixpitch. His master's thesis in 1999 was the original vision for the Atlanta Beltline, a 22-mile transit greenway that after fifteen years of work and collaboration is changing both the physical form of his city and the decisions people make about living there. Alongside other projects at Sixpitch and research on similar “catalyst infrastructure” projects around the world, Ryan's forthcoming book, “Where We Want to Live,” (St Martin's Press; March, 2016), investigates this cultural side of infrastructure, describing how its intimate relationship with our way of life can illuminate a brighter path forward for cities
