Dear Boss Babe...If you've been telling yourself “I'm just tired” or “once this season slows down, I'll feel like myself again,” this episode is for you. Because here's the truth: you're not lazy, unmotivated, or broken — you're burned out from carrying too much without enough support. Today we are talking about burnout, hustle culture, and why high achievers lose their spark — not because they stop caring, but because their lives get heavier without better containers. I'm sharing behind-the-scenes truth from my own journey — from fundraising for my skincare brand Silk to running this podcast consistently for nearly three years — and how success without support quietly drained my joy. On paper, everything looked amazing. Inside, I felt exhausted, disconnected, and empty. This episode is your reminder that self-care isn't bubble baths — it's structure, boundaries, and support. Burnout isn't a sign that your dream is wrong. It's a sign that the way you're holding it needs to change. Why burnout is so common for ambitious women and high achievers How hustle culture keeps your nervous system stuck in survival mode The real reason motivation disappears (and how to get it back) Why your spark doesn't return by pushing harder How structure and support are the most overlooked forms of self-care One small shift you can make this week to feel lighter and more energized If you've been feeling resistance toward something you once loved, I'll help you ask a better question — not “What's wrong with me?” but “What's making this feel so heavy?” Because you don't need a new dream. You need a new way of holding the life you already built. This week, choose one area of your life that feels overwhelming and: Write down what actually needs to be done Create structure instead of letting it live rent-free in your head Put a boundary around what drains you Give your brain permission to stop bracing Your spark isn't gone. It's just waiting for you to make room for it. If this episode hit home, make sure you listen to this week's full episode: Episode 135 where we go even deeper into why high-achieving women experience burnout — and how to fall back in love with what you're building without abandoning yourself. ✨ Subscribe, leave a review, and share this episode with a fellow boss babe who needs permission to rest without guilt. As always, I'm rooting for you. With love,Ericka Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Here's a story a lot of values-driven business owners are telling themselves right now:I don't have the capacity.I'm overwhelmed.I'll do it when things calm down. And listen — that story makes sense. We're living in late-stage capitalism during a genuinely destabilizing moment in history. Of course you're exhausted. Of course your nervous system is fried. Of course everything feels harder than it used to.But here's the uncomfortable truth I unpack in this episode: that story is also keeping a lot you stuck. Not because it's wrong — but because it's incomplete.
In today's episode, we're talking about health—without the guilt that so often comes with it in motherhood. So many moms want to feel better, stronger, and more connected to themselves, but the pressure to “do it all” can make caring for our own health feel selfish or overwhelming. This is a gentle reminder that focusing on yourself is not taking away from your family, it's supporting them. We'll talk about letting go of guilt, checking in with your body, and redefining what “getting healthy” really looks like in this season of motherhood. No perfection. No pressure. Just small, intentional moments that help you come back to yourself. If you've been craving a healthier relationship with your body, your mind, and your time—this episode is for you.
If you've been overthinking, or if you have anxiety spiraling about things a future version of you will one day handle, this episode will feel like a big exhale. Today we're talking about anxiety, uncertainty, and the wild ride of entering a new season when there are way more question marks than answers.Power Questions to Save: “Do I have enough information to solve this problem?” “Is future me more equipped than present me?” (Spoiler: yes.) “Am I mentally living in a moment I'm not actually in yet?”If you're currently…Waiting on claritySitting in the unknownStarting something newOverthinking timelinesTrying to juggle the juggle…this is your reminder that you can handle hard things, you're resourceful AF, and future-you is going to crush it.Links & Mentions:Subscribe on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@KaciaGhetmiri (video episodes drop every Monday!)Connect on IG: @kaciaghetmiri

Dear boss babe.. if you've ever asked yourself “Why do I keep setting goals and somehow never fully hitting them?” this episode is for you. And let me say this upfront: it's not because you're lazy, undisciplined, or not wanting it badly enough. The real issue is that most of the goals you've been setting were never designed to fit inside your real life — especially if you're a high achiever. In this episode, I'm giving you a real pep talk — the kind I wish someone gave me sooner. I'm sharing what I learned after a year of big wins, big ambition, and a whole lot of emotional whiplash. On the outside, things looked great. Behind the scenes, I was stuck in a cycle of pushing hard, crashing, recovering, and starting over again. I talk about how hustle culture and surface-level manifestation keep high achievers stuck in burnout loops — and why vision boards can start to feel heavy instead of inspiring. When your goals don't honor your energy, your schedule, or your current season of life, they slowly turn into something you avoid… even when you still want them. This episode is about rebuilding your 2026 goals in a way that supports your nervous system, protects your self care, and creates momentum that actually lasts. You don't need to become a different version of yourself to succeed — you need a better structure. Why you're not failing — you're working inside a broken goal system How hustle culture trains high achievers to sprint and crash Why manifestation without structure leads to burnout and guilt How vision boards can disconnect you from your real life The hidden cost of constantly starting and stopping (time, money, momentum) How to set 2026 goals that are achievable, not just impressive Why clarity creates more progress than pressure ever will You don't need more discipline — you need goals that fit your real life Self care isn't something you earn after success, it's what sustains it High achievers don't struggle with dreaming — we struggle with sustainable systems A calm, grounded plan will take you further than hustle ever will Your 2026 vision board works best when it sits on top of real structure I want you to pick one goal you've been avoiding and ask yourself: Does this fit into my real, current life — or just my fantasy vision board life? What would make this goal achievable instead of impressive? What would it look like to give this goal a simple weekly plan? That's where everything starts to change — not with more pressure, but with more clarity. ✨ If this episode resonated, make sure you listen to this week's full episode Episode 134 where I break down how to set goals you'll actually achieve in 2026 and beyond, and how to turn your vision board into something that works in real life.
Have you ever heard someone say that making creative work is about having a “point of view”? It sounds right, but what does it mean and how do you find yours? In this episode of Queen of Pep Talks, Jessica is joined by her boyfriend Oz for a raw, real conversation about dreams, commitment, and what it actually takes to build a life you're proud of. Motherhood changes everything…. your body, your time, your identity, and the way you see yourself. In this episode, I'm talking about what it means to come back to you after becoming a mom.If you've ever looked in the mirror and wondered where the woman you used to be went… or felt a quiet pull toward something more….. maybe a career, a dream, a creative spark, or simply feeling confident again, this episode is for you.I explore why losing yourself in motherhood is so common (and so human), but also why reconnecting with who you are outside of the mom role is not selfish, it's essential. Whether you're returning to the workforce, starting something new, or just trying to feel like you again, this pep talk will remind you that your magic didn't disappear… it just got buried under diapers, schedules, and survival mode. You don't have to choose between being a devoted mom and being a fulfilled woman. You get to be both. ✨
With the coaching carousel settling for now, the spotlight unexpectedly shifts to Jacksonville after the Jaguars' playoff loss to Buffalo. A local reporter steps to the mic and skips the question entirely, offering Liam Cohen a heartfelt pep talk instead, and the media world erupts. Evan and Tiki find the moment funny, human, and completely overblown as a controversy. They push back on the outrage from fellow reporters, arguing there's room for empathy as long as the tough questions still get asked, and imagine what the New York version of that moment would sound like if the Jets ever won 13 games. The conversation then spills into the Bills-Jaguars finish, revisiting the score versus kneel debate at the goal line, the fear of false starts and bad snaps, and why trusting your defense still makes sense in today's NFL. Plus, calls on playoff officiating, pocketed flags in January, and a walk down memory lane with Giants fans reliving the most painful postseason losses of their lifetime.

I'm sharing the honest pep talk I gave myself as the clock turned. It's a reminder that you don't have to figure everything out — but you do need to decide where you're going, and take daily steps to get there. Let's set your New Year intention here.In this episode, I talk about:How to reframe the disappointments of last yearWhy belief in your own dream is non-negotiableWhat happens when we drift through life instead of decidingA practical daily habit that can help you shift your mindset and build momentumWhether you're a shy introvert, a mom with very little time, or someone rebuilding after loss or transition — you'll find encouragement and clarity here. Time to set your New Year Intention. This year, I'm challenging you (and myself) to stop burying your head in the sand. Let's stop second-guessing our callings because of fear, burnout, or comparison. If God gave you a picture of the life you want, it's not foolish. It's not too big. It's possible. But only if you believe it is.And when doubt creeps in? Because it will. I walk you through one powerful thing you can do each day: Speak what you want to see.Declare it. Pray it. Write it. Say it out loud. God has given us words, faith, and wisdom. Use them. This isn't about hype or hustle — it's about rooted action. About walking into the new year calm, clear, and confident in who God made you to be.I want you to show up boldly, take the next right step, and build what matters — even if you're not sure what the outcome will be. Even if you have to do it afraid. This episode is your reminder: You're not stuck. You're not too late. You're not too much. Welcome back to Pep Talk Friday. In this episode of Raising Confident Girls, Melissa Jones offers a grounding reminder for parents who worry they're not doing enough—especially when their daughters are struggling quietly. She explores how showing up with calm, steady presence can be more powerful than fixing, advising, or saying the “perfect” thing.Melissa speaks directly to the inner critic so many girls carry and reassures parents that this voice isn't a reflection of failure. Instead, it's an opportunity—one where patience, understanding, and simply being there can shape how a daughter learns to speak to herself.Tune in to discover:Why your daughter's inner critic doesn't mean you're falling shortHow your presence—more than your words—helps her feel safe and supportedThe role your calm plays in helping her regulate big emotionsWhy you don't need to be perfect to make a lasting, meaningful impactThis episode is a gentle exhale for parents who feel unseen in the day-to-day work of raising girls. Even on the quiet, invisible days, you are shaping her inner voice in ways that truly matter. If this message feels like something a parent in your life needs to hear, share this episode with them. Send Katie a Text Message!! As we step into 2026, I wanted to record this episode before you opened your inbox, before you looked at last year's numbers, and before you started telling yourself stories about what this year needs to be. This is your 2026 pep talk. Because most designers don't start a new year with a clean slate — they start it carrying the emotional weight of the year before. And if we don't address that first, it quietly shapes how we show up, the goals we set, and the decisions we make. In this episode, I'm walking you through how to release last year without ignoring it, move out of overwhelm, and step into 2026 with clarity, intention, and confidence. In this episode, I talk about:Why 2026 does not need to be a reaction to 2025 — and how trying to “make up” for last year leads to burnoutThe truth about why most designers struggle (hint: it's not talent, it's systems, boundaries, and emotional energy)How carrying shame or comparison into a new year limits your capacity before you even beginWhy defining how you want your business to feel matters more than jumping straight into revenue goalsHow to set goals without shame, pressure, or punishmentWhat makes a goal actually supportive using a simple SMART frameworkWhy being “behind” is a dangerous story — and how being informed puts you in a position of powerHow intentional reflection leads to better decisions, not self-judgmentIf you're heading into 2026 feeling overwhelmed, behind, or unsure where to start, this episode is your reminder that you are not failing — you're informed. You're allowed to begin again, design this year differently, and build a business that works for you instead of the other way around. First off, Happy New Year Girl!As we step into this new year, I want to be really honest for a moment. I'm kind of tired of the “new year, new me” pressure. The endless goals, the nonstop push to become someone different overnight. Yes, growth is beautiful. Dreams are beautiful. Wanting more is beautiful. But what if this new year doesn't ask us to add more? What if it asks us to slow down instead? What if this season is about putting a few things on the shelf, not quitting, not giving up..but simply saying, “I'll come back to this later.” Because sometimes, less really is more. And sometimes, doing less is exactly what allows us to breathe again. In today's pep talk, I want to remind you that if you're walking into this year feeling behind, you're not failing. You're human. We are all just trying to survive. We are all doing the very best we can with the energy, resources, and capacity we have right now.So if this year feels quieter… softer… slowe…maybe that's not a problem. Maybe that's the point.I hope this episode encourages you to take the pressure off, to move at a gentler pace, and to give yourself permission to go slower than the world tells you to.
This was the first get-together of 2026 for the motorbike riding, cookie-devouring, face-punching, newly-betrothed TYP team member and the old veiny, crusty-but-hilarious (he wishes) host. We went far and wide in this chat and it was a nice blend of catch-up, reflection, story-telling and bro-science. I may have gotten a tiny bit evangelical and soap-boxy. Not sorry. You've made it through another year. Maybe the holidays went well. Maybe you've eaten more cookies than planned and you're already dreading January. Either way, here's what I want you to know: Nothing is wrong with you. In this episode, I share my year-end love letter to you—a physician who's probably being too hard on herself. We'll talk about why your experience around food isn't a given (even with years of "evidence"), how to stop the internal tug-of-war with food, and why acknowledging your own needs matters more than any diet plan. This is for any woman physician ready to head into the new year without the shame spiral.
Welcome back to Pep Talk Friday! In this episode, Melissa Jones offers a calming, permission-giving message for parents stepping into a new year. When January arrives, it's easy to feel pressure to reset everything at once—routines, goals, attitudes—but this pep talk is a reminder that growth doesn't have to be rushed to be meaningful.Melissa encourages parents to approach the new year with gentleness instead of urgency. Reassuring listeners that it's okay to start slow, to not have all the answers, and to ease back into routines after the holidays. With compassion and practicality, she shares simple tools parents can use to support themselves and their daughters during this transition, emphasizing presence and calm over perfection. In this episode, you'll hear:Why the new year doesn't need to start with pressure or a full planEncouragement to take things one step at a time—at home and within yourselfHow the 10-second reset can help regulate emotions for both parents and daughtersThe value of choosing a word for the year as a gentle guide, not a demandA reminder that calm, supportive presence creates the foundation for growthThis episode is an invitation to begin the year with grace—for yourself and your family. You don't need to rush into becoming a “new” version of yourself. Parenting, like personal growth, is built in small, steady moments of connection and care.If this pep talk encouraged you, consider sharing it with another parent who might need a softer start to the year. You're allowed to go slow—and that can be exactly what your family needs.Melissa's Links:• Website • Instagram • Facebook• TikTok• LinkedIn

Why Most New Year's Resolutions Fail (And What to Do Instead) Join the FREE LIVE EVENT: Meaning Beyond Macros!!! Episode Summary: Most resolutions don't fail because people are lazy or unmotivated — they fail because they start at the surface level. In this episode, Jess pulls back the curtain on what's really happening beneath our habits and goals, using her own “biofeedback story” around money as a powerful example of how the nervous system shapes behavior. You'll learn why traditional willpower-based approaches fall short, how your internal landscape influences your choices, and what it actually looks like to build change that lasts — from the inside out.
Dear boss babe — you made it through 2025!! If you're listening to this, it's not by accident. There's a version of you that's been trying to get your attention all year long. She's been whispering through your exhaustion, nudging you through frustration, and showing up every time you felt stuck. And I need you to hear me clearly: you are closer to becoming her than you think. This episode is the reminder your nervous system has been asking for. This is not a lecture. This is a pep talk — the kind you listen to when you're ambitious, tired, emotionally aware, and done pretending hustle culture is sustainable. I'm speaking directly to the high achiever who's been pushing through burnout, ignoring her body, and second-guessing herself even while making progress. I'm sharing the mindset shifts I learned while juggling a nine-to-five, building a brand, growing a team, fundraising, and protecting my mental health in the middle of it all. This episode is about real self care, listening to your energy, and allowing yourself to evolve without guilt. Why you can't outwork a disregulated nervous system How burnout shows up as information — not failure Why rest is a system and a strategy, not something you earn The truth about boundaries, delegation, and self-respect Why wanting more doesn't make you ungrateful How reinvention doesn't require permission — only a decision And why small, imperfect steps matter more than drastic changes ✨ If this pep talk hit home, share it with a fellow boss babe who needs encouragement ⭐ Leave a 5-star rating & review — it helps more women break free from hustle culture

It's New Year's Eve, and if you're feeling anything other than excited, there's absolutely nothing wrong with you. This isn't your typical "new year, new you" pep talk. It's for the trauma survivors who are exhausted by the pressure to transform, who feel like they're failing because they didn't have some massive breakthrough this year, or who are just relieved the dumpster fire of 2025 is over.In this episode, I talk about why New Year's can be so hard when you're healing from complex trauma, why your nervous system doesn't care about artificial timelines, and what actually supports healing (spoiler: it's not punishing yourself into productivity).I also get real about my own year, what I'm hoping for in 2026, and the moment I realized I've been so busy overfunctioning that I don't even have hobbies.Plus, a sneak peek at what's coming in 2026: narcissism in families, religious trauma, emotional neglect, dissociation, and betrayal trauma.Whatever you're feeling tonight, it's allowed. You're allowed to be exactly where you are.Happy New Year....Thanks for listening to The Complex Trauma Podcast! Be sure to follow, share and give us a review on your favorite podcast platform. David Beck is the principal of Granite Connection High School in South Salt Lake, Utah. He has served as a teacher at Pleasant Grove High School, and Assistant Principal at both Cyprus High School and Granger High School in Utah. David earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from BYU. In this episode we discuss the following: When one of David's students was falling asleep in class, a pep talk was the last thing she needed—she was working until 1:00 a.m. and catching a 6:30 a.m. bus just to get to school. What she needed was love, respect, and repeated check-ins over time. Even when students have especially difficult lives, the answer isn't to lower expectations, but to raise support through mentorship, consistency, interventions, and relationships. Often, what people need most isn't money, but guidance—someone to help them navigate systems and help them believe a different future is possible. By applying the Heath Brothers' Power of Moments framework and intentionally designing positive, celebratory experiences, David massively increased graduation rates. In the end, it all comes down to relationships.

Welcome to Holiday Hug, where the N4E team extends a warm embrace from their Christmas break to yours - because let's be honest, the love isn't always flowing when we're back in our childhood homes. This week opens with your lover as she takes us back to Episode 87, an all-time favorite of hers from the archives. It's one she thinks back on often, as she and Caroline recorded it just moments before a very difficult conversation she knew she was going to have to face. Jess talks about what it feels like to be over a year out from that moment, and invites the kooks to re-listen since she knows this time of year can be filled with uncomfortable dialogue and unwanted confrontation. The episode from the archives also features a loaded listener WHATADO about a friend who got a bit too close for comfort with her partner, plus a story from Caroline about the time she ruined the vibes at a dinner party (read: she was on shrooms). Many reasons this episode was one for the books! Please enjoy as you take a much needed break from family time, and we'll be back to hug you once more next week before all-new episodes in 2026.This episode was produced by our prince, Abi Newhouse (@abinewhouse). __Share with a friend!Follow, rate, and review on your favorite podcasting app!Subscribe on YOUTUBE for full episode video:youtube.com/@Not4EveryonePodPlus follow us on INSTAGRAM for more:@not4everyonepod@thegoodsitter@jzdebakeyYou can DM us there or submit topics for an upcoming episode to not4everyonepod@gmail.com.And don't forget about our APPAREL:nfepodapparel.com__Intro Music: “Doja Dance” by PALA__DISCLAIMER: All opinions are our own. Dear boss babe…if you're a high achiever who looks confident on the outside but quietly questions herself behind the scenes—this episode is your mirror and your permission slip. In today's pep talk, I'm calling out the silent doubt that creeps in right when you're standing at the edge of your next level. The kind of doubt that doesn't look like fear—but like procrastination, over-preparing, shrinking your goals, or telling yourself you need “more time.” Here's the truth most hustle culture won't tell you:Doubt isn't a sign you're failing—it's a sign you're evolving. If you've been doing all the “right” things, holding it together for everyone else, and secretly wondering if you're about to burn out or be exposed… this episode is for you. Why doubt shows up loudest when you're becoming someone you've never been before How hustle culture conditions high achievers to ignore self care until burn out hits The difference between real danger and fear caused by growth Why procrastination, downplaying wins, and waiting to launch are symptoms—not flaws How to stop waiting for permission, validation, or perfection A simple reset to help you move forward even when confidence hasn't caught up yet
This is a special HOLIDAY episode featuring the chat I had on Katherine May's Podcast “The Clearing” where guests explore their ideal real or fantasy retreat. Here's what Katherine said about the episode: The ADHD and autistic tendency to rest in motion is fully realised in American author and illustrator Andy J. Pizza's vision of the ideal retreat. Choosing an extraordinary fictional setting which incorporates an ingenious method of traveling the world, this episode showcases the wonder of a brilliantly creative, neurodivergent brain. Along the way, and with many fascinating tangents, Andy and Katherine discuss the power of Miyazaki films, their shared love of Fraggle Rock and longing for direction from the universe. A meticulously thought out and fully realised world that accommodates his own personal experience of ADHD, Andy unveils the most beautifully zany and imaginative dreamscape. An absolute treat. If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, unmotivated, or like you just cannot seem to move the needle forward right now, this episode is your sign. Evie and Lindsey deliver a short, powerful entrepreneur pep talk filled with tough love, honest encouragement, and practical reminders for those seasons when business and life feel heavy. They talk about why slow progress is still real progress, why asking for help is a strength not a failure, and why comparison, especially on social media, will rob you of joy faster than anything else. The girls reframe failure as proof that you are trying, remind you that someone else's win does not equal your loss, and encourage you to stop letting fear, procrastination, or overwhelm keep you frozen. You'll also hear a simple but game changing productivity mindset shift using the five minute rule to help you push past resistance and finally start the task you've been avoiding. This episode is part encouragement, part reality check, and part loving nudge to get honest about what you want your life and business to feel like, and then take responsibility for making the shift. If you needed a reminder that you are capable, not behind, and not alone, this one is for you.
